Absolutely loved this intimate quaint pub! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the pub cat The General made our day! He is a very handsome boy who allowed us to pet him and take his picture. I would def come back here on a future trip to London! When we were closing out our tab, o
Adres the Barkeep was genuinely warm hearted..."Chicken and Barley Stew will Warm your soul on a day like this," he said. It did indeed. Shared the afternoon with many a new friend in London's "Oldest" Pub. A Must see!!!
Stopped here for a pint and nibbles on a hot sunday afternoon. Was quite busy but we got a table outside it was like going back in time. The beer was good and your salted nuts came in a paper bag just like the good old days.
Love this place! Great food (get the herring) and a decent pint. If I was to be bit picky, it would be that the bar furniture (name the stools) are unsafe and not pleasant for a seat. Do stand at the bar. Other than that, what a golly little pub.
Lovely pub, states that it is the oldest pub in London, older than Ye Old Cheshire Cheese apparently. Very nice inside, lovely Irish barman. Great chats and service
Tiny pub with laid back atmosphere. Perfect for a quiet pint or glass of wine. Can comfortably sit a dozen inside, or two dozen uncomfortably! Food is basic but there's an interesting selection of books to pass the time.
The oldest 'original' pubs in London. meaning it might not be oldest building etc...but it started at a pub and has always been a pub. this place is fantastic as some others have said...not typically tourist...very nice welcoming locals and proprietor is sooooo great. There's the local black cat tha
A lovely old pub which I frequented in my legal days in the 90's. Lovely visit today.
It's claimed that it is the pub in London. Extremely tiny. Lovely service and good draft beer 🍺.
Step back in time in this charming, friendly pub. The atmosphere, service and even quality of light seem to speak of past times. Asking for the wifi code felt anachronistic! I didn't have anything more than a lemonade, but the food looked good and I'm told the beers are very fine.
This tiny intimate pub is a gem. Serving the most amazing food! Everyone loved their meal … the Steak sandwich is huge
Fantastic pub with all of the charm you would expect for an establishment as old as this. The food was good, the service was great, and the beer selection is great.
Such a lovley pub, a true gem. Great drinks, amazing food and cats! Cant ask for anything more.
Apparently the oldest pub in London, great atmosphere
Best pub in London: no background music, no nachos on the menu, no nonsense. Food is amazing – all homemade with fresh, quality ingredients. True gem.
One of the oldest pubs in London, right behind Royal Courts of Justice. Their food is absolutely amazing, outstanding even. You can close your eyes and poke at the board-cant go wrong. Food changes all the time. Dog friendly and open 7 days a week. One of my favourite places in town
We arrived on a weeknight for dinner.... Attracted by the fact of its being the oldest, longest continuously operated pub in London. When we arrived, we saw approximately 100 people standing outside across the street chatting with one another. We thought initially it was a line for the pub. Peopl
If you know you know. If you don’t know! You need to get to know this gaff on the double. So do yourself a favour, get your diary out and pencil in a visit to this fine establishment as it’s absolutely wonderful!!
