Occasionally, me and my friend found this pub. Located near from Camden Town underground station. It's a great place to enjoy a beer. And so, when it seems the night is coming over, suddenly it turns more crowded again. A fantastic pub to drink, listen to music and chat.
Great pub with a good atmosphere, even the tourists like it, good security and a killer pint of Guinness.. See you down there..
This is a great pub friendly staff and relaxed environment music good for all tastes a must visit of you are in Camden been there several times and definetly go back each time I'm in Camden a must
Nice little pub in Camden Town. Guinness, good music, great service, fun people, open very late. We had a super fun time ending our night (or early morning depending on how you look at it) at this pub for St. Patrick’s Day and we made new friends! We will be back next time!
Used to go in there a lot in the 80s,90s when a skinhead, is it true the old landlord has passed?, lovely Irish fella, always made a point of saying hallo.
Very natural and down to earth pub. Would definitely go back and enjoy the atmosphere.
What a fantastic pub , great atmosphere and music , vist Camden must be done

My friend took me here on my last night in London, I do like this place. Coming from a city where mass alcohol consumption has only been a thing for the past decade, I like that this place feels very pub-y instead of having a modern feel to it— like most bars and lounges in Jakarta. I feel like my trip in London is complete, a local pub is a must visit.
I am quite sad to report that although I did eat at the Elephant's Head the lure of drinking their eponymous beer took the better of me. It can't have been bad as I stayed for the next 9 hours and I can't now for the life of me remember what it was I ate. It is a fantastic pub. Great and eclectic clientele wandering in and out on their way too and from somewhere else. Totally relaxed and friendly atmosphere. In truth though, the real reason I was there, and that of many others, is the lure of vinyl. Nothing feels like vinyl as it penetrates through your clothes, your skin and then keeps on going right on, deep into your bones. As their notorious DJ batters you with hits from the 50s, 60s and 70s - delivered as a wall of ultra-compressed soundwaves that literally pump and expand the atmosphere until there is no escape - you can't help but marvel at it's sheer power. Recording for vinyl was a dark dark art - multitrack digital recording and 96kh sound systems can't hold a candle to this. If you like beer, cool retro-vintage revivalism, clicks and pops served with yer music, shambling along to songs of yesteryear and saying hello alot then the Elephant's Head is a total MUST DO.
The Elephant's Head in the heart of Camden, close to the canal. A delightful fun pub with my favourite pub table, I bet many a beer has been lost on that! Plenty of choice from the keg along with some cask to keep everyone happy. Laid back, great service and a warm homely atmosphere. A great place to drink, great soundtrack too!
My brother and I recently visited The Elephants Head in Camden for a casual pint of Guinness. The pub exuded a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, with cozy stools tucked away in a quiet corner, creating an ideal space for a leisurely conversation.
The Irish barman on duty was an absolute gem, displaying exceptional politeness and genuine helpfulness. He even went out of his way to apologize for serving Guinness in plastic glasses, which was due to the bustling Halloween crowd and rapid customer turnover.
Despite the temporary plastic serving, the Guinness was expertly poured and tasted great. The overall experience at The Elephants Head was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We’re definitely looking forward to returning for another enjoyable visit. Cheers to a great spot in Camden!
I spend a wonderful moment yesterday, especially because of an angel behind the bar named Nadia, a very professional and careful person! I've rarely someone that sympathetic working in a pub...
I advise you to taste the Brixton beer, it's local and tasty!
There are very few really traditional old Irish pubs in Camden so when you walk into one like this you instantly feel the tradition, it’s in the walls the atmosphere the staff everything. It even has its own T-Shirts
The Elephants Head is ideally located at a main intersection on Camden high road and Jamestown road, within easy reach of the market and lots of great shopping and about a five minute walk from the underground station.
As you walk in you know you are not in a trendy wine bar and that is refreshing. I remember this pub was boarded up during the pandemic, they did not even try to open it was a weird sight, but I’m delighted to say that it’s now back on its feet and serving it’s now fully open to its loyal customers again. Over 500,000 people pass through the doors every year to take in the atmosphere and have a cheeky pint.
I won’t bore you with the history I’m sure you can research that for yourself but it’s worth a read.
Even though you can’t access it yet, the pub has a fantastic roof garden that overlooks the only living wall garden in Camden which is on the MTV building opposite, next door to poppies traditional fish and chips restaurant. It’s hard to give really solid feedback on the staff because of current situation with staff shortage but the staff behind the counter when ever I visit are great and give really good service. They have a few chairs outside at the front so you can sit and watch the world go buy whilst enjoying your pint of beer. They have a great range of drinks and happy to say they sell real Coca Cola in glass bottles, thank goodness. It looks and feels like a great place to enjoy a JD & coke, pop in and do let me know what you think.
This pub is a really good place to visit. Really friendly service with a cosy atmosphere good beer and an excellent food partnership with Honest Burgers. We love the place!
Positives
- the atmosphere is great. A lot of energy and good music
- nice selection of drinks
- nice bar staff
Negatives
- can get very busy. There isn’t a lot of room in the mid section of the pub so it can get a little crammed around the bar area
- the bouncers on one occasion were very rude to someone in a wheelchair. They tried to push this woman in a wheelchair next to the toilets. Which was on the other side of the bar - away from her friends. They had a perfectly fine space before and wasn’t in the way at all. Fortunately, some people saw how upset the girl was and challenged the bouncer. The person in the wheelchair was then able to go back to where her friends were instead of sitting alone next to the toilet door. Seeing that whole experience was quite sad and it seemed like the security had an issue with someone with a disability.
This is a great pub. The only people moaning are the ones who have been thrown out, usually for good reason. Great beer, lovely food and lively atmosphere. Huge mixture of people due to the market up the road and Camden in general. One of the best pubs around!

Great pub here! It's very inviting and easy to find. Go!
Love this pub. Only place in Camden that caters for mods, rockers and skinheads. Proper British subculture hub. It’s recently gotten back on track and is amazing. Music is fantastic there.
Nice drinking establishment, friendly bar staff, and great crowds. Could do with various choices of ales, but other than that, we'll worth a visit.
Called in to cool down in the June heat. Lovely old pub, good service and good selection of beers. Guinness especially good. Not too busy on a Friday afternoon and good spot to people watch.
Great pub warm friendly atmosphere the service was excellent and with a excellent choice of refreshments thoughly enjoyed my vist to this establishment

The place is a genuine English pub with character. Meaning we feel being in England. The beer is as expected and the food is good. We had the traditional fish and chips seasoned with lemon juice, vinager and salt (mashed beans and tartare as sides). The kids had the hot dog and ham and cheese ciabatta. No picture of the hot dog as my son jumped on it. Guess he was hungry. A pleasant place to make a stop and relax before resuming the walk in Camden high street. Open every evening until 2am.
One of oldest pubs in Camden Town. So pleased to be there for drink and a chat with friends. Friendly staff, nice Dj and music selection. If is not to crowded you can feel the hit and dance! I really recommend this place!
I like this pub. When I visit my son,Camden is a convenient place to go after our Saturday visit to a different venue and good transport links for both of us to return to our own homes. They serve honest burgers, a bit of a wait but good anyway. Follow the market route towards the lock . It's popular so for a lunchtime stop, get in early
One of the best pubs in Camden. You can start your day with proper english breakfast and then continue with a variety of beers and ales.
