Came here for the first time with friends and didn't know what to expect food wise as it was a last minute thing. Was a bit worried that there wasn't going to be much vegetarian choice but the tall hungarian waitress was very helpful recommending a few of the dishes they had for that day. Had a lovely veggie pizza which tastes like everything was made from scratch! Would defo recommend this place, lovely food and welcoming staff!

I can definitely go for a Lardo pizza vs Franco Manca which I found too doughy-chewy and disappointing overall. Lardo is using top quality ingredients and offers new types of flavor combos. Too bad it's always packed... Better reserved your spot.

Kurt and his team did an amazing job feeding 17 of us in plenty of time for the panto at the Hackney Empire. Burrata, and cacio e pepe and pumpkin and cavolo nero pizzas a particular highlight. Great service - with stuff that worked for vegans, kids and all the other special requirements we could throw at them. Thank you!

Best Italian in London. I will never forget the homemade tortellini with ragout. It was a dream. The starters were amazing as well. The prices were also very good! Well deserved 5 stars! Thank you for a great night! (unfortunately I have to travel now about an hour to get there. West London Italians are not THAT good)

Brilliant as always. And do yourself a favour and save space for a slab of their Tiramisu with a glass of the Pedro Ximenez 👌

Italian at heart, it is a spa for my soul and my taste. I love to indulge in their delicious antipasti and then move on to the mains or pizzas. I have always left with a smile. Grazie!

If you're looking for a hipster restaurant that is quite intimate and has tasty pizza then this is great for you.

I went there with a friend and we were led to our table which was connected to a table of four so it was like sharing our table with the other group while on the other side there was barely enough space to walk between us and table with a couple on a date. We could easily hear everyone's discussions and I assume they could hear ours. I think I enjoy a bit more space between me and the other patrons of a restaurant as a general rule.

As far as the food was concerned, the pizza was delicious! We got the mushroom one and I really enjoyed it. The cheese starter was also yummy, however the cold leeks were not particularly impressive so I would not recommend them.

The service was a bit slow but it is to be expected with how busy the place is. The staff were very friendly to make up for it though so we did not particularly mind.

I think it would be much better to go there for lunch on a weekday when it should be more quiet but the food is definitely worth a visit.

Lardo has quickly become one of my go to places to eat Hackney ways. Everything from the food to the service to the atmosphere is spot on. My only issue is with the changing menu; every now and again an absolutely amazing dish is replaced by something nowhere near half as good... Makes the missus fuuuuume.

Decent place, well worth going. Quality food, quality drinks, quality vibe all round. Pizzas aren't going to blow you away but they'll hit the spot if you're looking for somewhere to eat in London Fields.

Super!. Lardo has become one of my favourit restaurants recently! Don't let the trendies and yummie mummies put you off, this place is good. Has a great, ever changing menu with lots of interesting bites and brilliant pizzas. I recomend the mussels if they're on too. The service is really good if you're served by the right staff but it's a lovely place for a fine pizza and a bottle of wine!

It's the squatters, street artists and DJs of Hackney who made Hackney the hotbed of creative cool it is today. Unfortunately where they led followed the city trendies, design agency wonks and sub Nathan Barley meeja types all clamouring to claim that they've been here since, you know, since it was anything cool...

The Lardo pizza base is one of the best I’ve tasted in London – thin, airy, chewy and coated in crunchy semolina flour.

I spent a very pleasant evening at lardo. The place was packed and we didn't book, so we got offered a spot on the kitchen counter. Starters overpriced, but good wine selection. Pizzas were absolutely great! From our spot we could see them making them. I'll definitely go back there.

So this is my sister’s favourite place to dine in London and it exceeded all expectations! Firstly the wait staff were so friendly even though it was so busy. we were greeted by a lovely woman. I explained that I’m gluten and dairy free and she suggested me to talk to the head chef. A treatment I’ve never been exposed to even though I dine out a lot. He even suggested to cook me a dish that’s not on the menu even though it was so busy. I could not believe it. Not only was the service and the entire restaurant staff so accomodating and friendly, the food were exceptional. My sister and her boyfriend enjoyed the mushroom dish in particular. They said that was star of the night but we couldn’t fault anything. The atmosphere and decor were also fantastic. I highly recommend this place for tourists and locals. 10/10 experience that I share to my friends back in Australia visiting London.

Good pizza for a fair price, nice place for a quick bite. It feels like a neighbourhood gathering place. I find the seats and tables quite tight, and noisy (bad acoustics) to engage conversation.

A hidden in gem in Hackney, London. This restaurant and cocktail bar is tucked away in a street where you would never think of finding a restaurant. Located about 10 minutes walk from Hackney Central overground, it was a pleasure to visit Lardo. Whether you visit for food or just drinks, it’s a great experience. The restaurant is opened up with the kitchen so you can see the chefs preparing the food as well as watching the pizzas being cooked in the specially designed oven. The food was truly excellent and of Michelin standard. They do pizza which is good if you are hungry but the smaller dishes are expensive but well worth it for the flavour and creativity. The menu does change on a monthly basis. Ambience is excellent and the staff work brilliantly as a team. A great place hidden away in Hackney and highly recommended!

Lardo is one of our favourite dining experiences in London! 10/10 recommend, especially for families :) Here's what we love about Lardo: • The People: the staff are incredibly warm, friendly, and just wonderful humans. From the servers to the bartenders to the amazingly talented chefs, everyone makes us feel like family. They often give our toddler free ice cream after dinner, which is so kind. • The Food: We eat primarily (ve) and (v) and there are tons of delicious and unique options. Every dish is full of flavor, creativity & freshness. The menu changes frequently, too, which keeps things exciting. • The Patio: The outdoor patio is so peaceful and beautiful, especially on a warm, sunny day. My favorite dishes are: Burrata with Focaccia for starters, Taleggio & Wild Mushrooms Pizza OR Mushroom Orzotto for main, and Tiramisu for afters. Oh, and a delightful Amaretto Sour to top it all off!!

4.5 - Tasty and good value Italian restaurant. Dog friendly too. We had the burratta, focaccia and truffle polenta to start - all very delicious. Then for mains the pappardelle, which was a little bland and pasta slightly over cooked, and seafood linguine which was amazing. Also had the prosciutto and goats cheese and pea pizzas, both good but especially liked the goats cheese one.

Loved it here. We arrived about 30 minutes late due to traffic issues on the M25. Did try to call ahead but the phone went to a full voicemail box. Despite this, the staff were great when we arrived and were able to accommodate us. Food was delivered quickly, but was hot and fresh, and (most importantly) really tasty. I loved the atmosphere and ambience.

Me and my girl went for a dinner last night, one of the best date night ever, we had a chefs table right next to the kitchen, personally the chef(Richard) served us, he explained the whole menu and the food, I never had a such a experience like this before it was so cool. Thank you chef Richard for making our date special.. 10/10 worth every penny..

Cool place with nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The pizza was really good as well as the starters. The pizza and the cauliflower puree were my favourite. Sadly, the risotto wasn’t good at all, we couldn’t finish the plate which rarely happens - it tasted like mushroom soup powder. Would definitely recommend the owners to rethink the meal. Other than that it’s a nice place after all.

I was a little apprehensive about the spaghetti special since it’s vegetarian yet £16 but let me tell you… it might be the best vegetarian pasta I’ve had in my life! So many layers of flavors; there’s certainly depth to it. The pizza was okay and interesting! I’ve never seen any restaurant serve green onions on a pizza.

Cheesy, Carby and yummy in all the best ways possible! We came here without reservations on a Monday night. It was almost 9 and there kitchen was going to close but they still let us in and served us with a smile. Food is plentiful and fresh. Menu changes daily we were told.

Lovely atmosphere in Lardo. Staff are friendly and attentive but not overbearing. The food is quite good and I would recommend trying it for sure. I found the dishes to be overly rich however and quite salty. The focaccia and olives are delicious as a starter or even just those items with drinks would be lovely. Thanks for a nice time boys.

One of my favourite places in Hackney! They have great small plates options, but they're the best at pizzas. Interesting wines and amazing innovative cocktails & spritz list that changes time to time.

Service was super great. The waiter Ian was of great service and very friendly. The restaurant in itself is quite relaxing and lively at the same time. The pizzas weren't that great tho. Not bad don't get me wrong but the mix of ingredients could definitely improve.

Lardo is the type of place you can go dressed up or casually stroll in feeling like a local. Keep an eye out for meticulously curated weekly & seasonal specials. The food is always on point and is complimented by a friendly staff knowledgeable in pairing with their amazing selection of wine & spirits . Each time I’ve gone it’s been a culinary experience with lasting memories. Plan ahead, reservations are a must.
