If you read this blog often you will be aware of my adoration for East London, the problem is sometimes the areas cool factor can be intimating. Recently I starting taking a full day off my office job to work on creative projects and though I have been to almost every café in Shoreditch and the surrounding area, going alone set my anxiety on edge. Every Friday I would pack up my bag and then make an excuse on why I could not go and work outside my flat, but everything changed this week.
This is a really cute little coffeeshop. In a characterful area, it will appeal to the creatives that already frequent the Hanbury Street/ Brick Lane area. It passes my *Flat White Test* with flying colours.
There's also another life to Canvas. Check out the activities board inside for other stuff to do there! I'm seriously considering heading down for some.
Truly amazing. So far my favorite cafe in London. Great people, food, vibe. I can especially recommend their fig torte. The pancakes are also good, but could be a bit fluffier. Soup of the day (spiced pumpkin) was perfect. They also have events sometimes which I hope I will be able to check out in the future. Lastly, they incentives visitors to pay forward meals for less fortunate, which I think is pretty great.
We ordered the full English breakfast after speaking directly to the chef 😊they were happy to explain the menu options and there were very friendly and welcoming!
The staff member at the counter was very busy today but they were very friendly and attentive to us. The food was AMAZING. The best vegan breakfast I’ve had from anywhere so far. The beans are home made, as well as the hash browns.
Massive portion and delicious and nutritious.
Oh and the coffee (oat cappuccino) was sooooooo tasty ☕️
We came with group of friends and really enjoyed the Saturday brunch. Good menu, good portions of tasty food. Friendly staff. Good vibe place.
An absolute gem of a cafe with the nicest atmosphere, kindest staff and tastiest food. Eveything is vegan and delicious, the coffee is really really nice, and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. One of my favorite cafes I've ever been to!
We came for dinner at 7pm on a Friday night and really enjoyed it. The menu is limited at that time, they only have the specials and the “cheese” boards but we were taken aback by how yummy the food was! We chose the vegan calamari which tasted exactly like the real deal! The thick cut chips were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. The homemade lemonade was incredibly refreshing. Overall a really great experience. Love how they supply their coffee from redemption roasters, all their suppliers are social enterprises and they also do a food bank. A really great community cafe.
Such a lovely Cafe! Found it by accident. The taste of the salad was amazing! How can salad taste so good? The coffee, turmeric latte and cake was also Amazing. I love the idea of painting the walls, the questions on the walls were so cute. Downstairs was like a living room, very cozy and nice. The staff was very friendly. This will be my favourite little Cafe in town. Thank you for being 100% vegan, creative and social. Wish you all the best.
Found this place by accident and I am glad I did. Decided to take a punt and ended up going for the vegan full english. Delicious! Everything was hot and tasted nice.
The staff are very friendly and this place only accepts card.
The cakes looked divine, however, as I was stuffed from the breakfast I had no space for cake. For sure I will be back!
Fantastic ambience and experience. I had the delicious scrambled tofu , turmeric latte, Arancini and americano black .. had lots of stuff to read but instead ended up reading the walls and reflecting about the written messages ..such beautiful thoughts penned by so many different people under different sections .. one can’t leave the place without feeling richer and happier for the whole experience .. extremely good service too ...and yes, vegan too
Been here a couple of times now and their full english is easily the best vegan breakfast I’ve had in London!
Even better to know you’re contributing to a community of people organising social events and plenty of local charity work.
The atmosphere is lovely and cosy. There is a variety of tasty food to choose from, especially the sweet treats. Writing and drawing on the walls is fun, as is reading what others have left on there. I started drawing out my favourite painting when I first went and the staff members were so helpful in trying to find the right coloured pens and pencils to finish it off properly.
