We held our wedding reception at The Refinery on Saturday and it was outstanding. The venue looked cool, the food was awesome and the staff were all amazing. Jessica was a huge help all the way through. Highly recommend this place.
This restaurant is so chic and on trend! The decor is great, the food is gorgeous and the staff are friendly. Our waiter, Antonio, was the best waiter we came across during our whole weekend in London. He was friendly, knowledgable and really interested in us as people rather than just as customers, he is an asset to the Company. Would highly recommend if you are in this area of London, not to be missed! Will definitely return when next in London. Well done!
Gorgeous place, lovely food, great staff! Amazing venue for a wedding!
Great place... recommend definitely....................
Awesome food, amazing staff and Manager. Well done could not have asked for anything better. You guys rock.
Fantastic food and atmosphere and service. Couldnât fault it
An absolute amazing venue to host any kind of events really.. from business coffee meetings to weddings! Definitely a place to check out!
My boyfriend took me here for dinner on Tuesday and it was the best restaurant I've been to in London so far! The food was amazing, the menu is so extensive that there's something for everyone and every mood! The cocktails were divine, the staff were friendly and attentive despite it being a very busy evening for them and the decor/atmosphere was lovely. Have recommended to my friends and family.
Had a few drinks whilst making wedding plans with Will, can't wait to use The Refinery as our wedding reception. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and love the decor, roll on May!
Loved it here [100000631862509:Laura Ryan] we need to go again, great atmosphere x
Very interesting architecture. Great food and service. Excellent location with indoor and outside tables. I liked very much the vegetable curry.
I had my birthday dinner in this restaurant and it couldn't have been a better choice. It's close to my worksplace so my colleagues joined me after work, the staff is very friendly and the cocktails are really good. I had 15 guests and they are all from different backgrounds so there was a good variety of food to please everyone. I will definitely come back!
This is the best restaurant near my office. Their food is great for lunch break. This place becomes even more lively in the night with people drinking and dancing till midnight. Their selection of beer is not as good as most pubs but they have cocktails and a huge choice of wines to choose from. A little expensive but worth it.
Iâm not overly familiar with Warren Street or the surrounding area but last Saturday found myself in that vicinity on a visit to The Refinery at Regentâs Place. A very modern bar and restaurant, which also benefits from a large outdoor seating area, the Refinery is a bit of an oasis in an otherwise no-manâs-land of office buildings. I should imagine this means it does very well with the after-work crowd and even early on a Saturday evening there was a buzz to the place.  The interior is very light and airy, with floor-to-ceiling windows and there is a quirky mix of furniture â big comfy armchairs covered in animal skins for those wanting to eat in comfort or plenty of high seated bar stools for those who want to watch as their favourite cocktail is created.
Comfortable setting. Simple breakfast of scrambled egg on toast plus boiled eggs and soldiers but done to very high standard. Will return soon. Great tea, coffee and service
I'm always a sucker for a bottomless brunch option, so I recruited the girls to join me for bottomless Bellini brunch at The Refinery Regents Place. The deal is bottomless drinks - either Bellinis or Bloody Marys for an extra ÂŁ15 over 2 hours of brunch. The Refinery is super close to Regents Park, but tucked in a square in an office complex near to Warren Street, so busy during the week Wednesday through Friday and quiet at the weekend. As one of the Drake & Morgan chain I knew the food would be good!
The Refinery at Regentâs Place is Drake & Morganâs latest addition to its restaurant collective. The popular restaurants have been popping up all over London and I have been mighty impressed by what I have tried so far. The Refinery takes a Scandinavian style across its slightly smaller than its sister venues, one-floor eating and drinking area. Â With wooden flooring and a chunky oak bar, the seating is laid out in comfort with relaxing laid-back chairs and whilst we visited, blankets and even hot water bottles if you fancy braving the outdoor seating later in the evening. Even though the space isnât the biggest and the bar can get pretty full, we still felt separate enough from the bar to eat.
I am no stranger to Warren Street and Great Portland Street as my work place straddles between these two stations. Regents Place has changed a lot over the years with new eateries popping up and The Refinery was one of the latest additions to the local square. I work around the area 5 days a week so grabbing a bite to eat at lunch or Thursday/Friday drinks after work will always be a local one. For where it is located; it sure is a hit with the businesses within the square. They are definitely not short of customers considering each building is sky high with tens of thousands of employees; not to forget the visiting clients too! I walk past The Refinery every dayâŠliterally every single day and I have decided to check it out with a very good friend of mine whoâs also a work colleague. The restaurant is part of the Drake and Morganâs collection of bars and restaurants -a destination for dining in style, comfort and after work socials.
ânatural timbers, reclaimed brick and warm colours provide a stylish setting for all-day eating & drinking, while floor-to-ceiling windows make for a light, bright backdrop. a mix of furniture, from low-slung chairs & high stools to soft leather sofas, offers a variety of spaces to drink & dine. our statement bar is the ideal spot to see and be seen â perch as you catch-up over cocktails. the spacious terrace, bedecked with potted plants, will delight al-fresco diners throughout the seasons.â
I barely had any lunch that day as I was saving my appetite for the epic dinner at The Refinery. I love a cosy decor and this restaurant has a warm, fuzzy feeling when I walked in! We couldnât decide whether we wanted to sit inside or outside, inside or outside! In the end; we settled for inside as I wanted to take pics of the decor inside. First up; the menu! I have to say; the menu looked delicious and I found it really difficult to choose what I want. As for cocktails; I love a good surprise so I asked the friendly waiter to surprise me of his pick of a cocktail with my hint of âI like something sweet and or refreshingâ *big smiles*. Decisions decisions; I really do not like being indecisive and I like to live a little and go for their recommendations and surprises. In the end; I am happy with the choices:
salt & pepper squid, lemon mayonnaise: I love battered squid for starters; itâs the comfort food I love when going to any restaurant so I am chuffed they served this. It was flavoursome, light and deliciously chewy.
Prawn lollipops, sweet chilli & soy: I picked this one out because it sounded interesting and cute on the menu! I bet itâs a hit with the kids ( I am such a kid at heart). When this arrived; I knew it would be on a skewer but I got really excited when the skewers were all standing up on the wooden board! Dipped my prawn lollipops in the sweet chilli and soy sauce â mmmm it complimented so well! I know I was sharing the starters but I wanted the prawn lollipops all to myself! But no, must compose myself for the big main and desserts.
Main course was up next and before we dived into the main-to-come, we ordered our first round of cocktails. Again, loving my surprises so the lovely waiter ordered a Mimosa for myself and Old Fashioned for my friend (eurgh, such a blokeâs drink). Honestly, one of the best Mimosaâs Iâve ever had, I could have easily ordered another round but NO! Itâs Monday, getting tipsy already and I must compose myself!! So hereâs what we ordered for our main course:
Sirloin 8oz steak with chips and watercress: This is what my friend ordered; he loves a good steak and as I was taking a picture of it; I tried to make it justice as it was as delicious as it looked with my eyes. Yes, my eyes said yummy and so was my appetite when I had a cheeky bite from his plate. The bearnaise sauce really complimented the steak very well.
Roast rump of lamb, caponata with mint jus: Again, I was indecisive with my decision for the main so I asked the waiter to recommend again ^^ and great choice once again as I asked what was the popular main that people enjoyed. It was very juicy and succulent with a decent portion size. It was a well recommended dish and now I can see why the locals love to order this plate. I literally took ages trying to take pictures of the food and my friend wasnât too pleased that his steak was starting to get cold (sorrry!). It was all worth it; we chatted for ages as we tucked into our main and sipping my fruity cocktail.
Finally, we saved our second stomach for the dessertsâŠmy favourite part of the meal. We ordered our second round of cocktails; again we went for the recommendation as he seemed to be doing so well and know what we like so he ordered pimms for my friend and pisco bay sour for me đ
The pisco bay sour was very very strong and was on the verge of getting very tiipsssy oops! I like a good kick and if it was Friday; I would definitely had let my hair down.
For our desserts we ordered:
Eton Mess with Strawberries: This was a no brainer for my friend; he loves a good olâ eton mess and I canât blame him. We had a good 1/2 hour of chitter chatter before we ordered our desserts just so we have room for some sweet treats. So simple yet so tasty; incredibly light after a heavy meal and a great end to the evening.
Lemon Tart with Creme Fraiche: I went for the lemon tart; I wanted that sour and sweet kick to end my evening which matched the creme fraiche deliciously. I was down to my last 2% of stomach capacity but I made it through the plate and finished what I could!
I think we were at the restaurant for 2.5hours and how time flew by! The Refinery is located in the heart of Regentâs Place; the social hub between skyscrapers of buildings (well they arenât that high but high enough) in the area. The restaurant is situated perfectly for all the hungry locals, businessmen and women who work within the area for after work drinks and social. As they are 2 minutes from my work place; thereâs nothing like it around. So glad they openedâŠif I remember correctly, that empty space was vacant for a while which was used as bean bag and deck chairs storage! nice.

So last week I almost got blown off a bridge and lost my sunglasses in the windy process of it all. If you can recall, we had some horrendous 60mph winds which were damning, unforgiving and quite frankly rather annoying. The scene from the huge glass windows at The Refinery gave refuge and a good sight to watch the rest of London get blown away. At one point a few couples tried to enter the restaurant with struggle, as the wind battered so hard against the door from the inside â that staff struggled to even open it. Luckily for us we were all warm and cosy in this Scandinavian styled restaurant, quietly laughing at the theatrics this weather kindly put on for us â not to mention the fantastic playlist pumping in the background.
The Refinery is owned and run by group, Drake & Morgan, who seem to be quickly creating a mini (and much welcomed) empire around London. Personally I think these guys have hit the nail on the head, with the likes of The Parlour, The Drift, & The Folly all under their guidance. Their bars/restaurants are the future of casual drinking and eating in my opinion. Theyâre all decked out beautifully, serve good food and cocktails â but all still at the same price as the older bars in London which can sometimes be a bit uptight. They really do, do cocktails very well too. Comfortably snuggled on a furry throw over my chair and some warm copper lighting over my head, we tucked into a warm and smoky Old Fashioned and a refreshing Aperol 1919 â which was far to easy to drink. I plan many more of these here rather soon. The mammoth olives and off-site baked bread wasnât bad either.
One thing the kitchen really know how to get spot on here, is the starters. Well cooked and simple â but full of flavour. Salt and pepper squid is a rather standard gastropub affair, yet so many places still get it wrong â either with poor soggy batter/breadcrumb coating or by overcooking it. Here there was none of that, just tender rings of quid, crispy crumb batter and perfect seasoning. The lemon mayonnaise wasnât very lemon-y however. Even better (and a site which No More Plates would love), was the prawn lollipops with a sweet chilli dipping sauce. It does look a little gimmicky, but then The Refinery is all about fun and having a good time and thatâs exactly what this dish gave us. The prawns inside the crispy batter were very well cooked and that fiery, tangy sweet chilli sauce was worth bottling and taking home on its own.
When it came to ordering our main course, something got a little lost in translation. I asked for the rump and got the lamb rump. Iâd no idea there was another on the menu apart from the rump steak I was so looking forward too. Waiving my hand around, the other half told me to keep quiet because what we actually ended up getting, wasnât worth letting go. The meat was juicy and tender, the caponata was full of flavour and the jus incredibly meaty. The dish was perhaps lacking in a side of greens or fries, but only Iâm to blame for not ordering one. I still do wonder just what that rump steak would have been like however. From the specials board, seared Cajun marinated tuna was up for grabs, along with sweet potato mash â it turned out to be yet another great choice, which reminded me all too much of summer and the great British obsession â a BBQ â it was all very smoky. Priced at around ÂŁ14 it was a bit of a bargain too and portion size was excellent.
Desserts here at The Refinery is where this place becomes a little more erratic. Salted caramel and plum sundae, topped with honeycomb was almost on the verge of being just as good as it sounded, but unfortunately the honeycomb was jaw lockingly chewy and a little burnt. A little extra care and this sundae could be great. Eton mess was another crowd pleaser but again the pavlova texture was still as a little chewy, more so then it should have at least anyway. These were good desserts, which just needed a little tweaking.
The Refinery in Regents Place has only been open since March this year and is still very much in its infancy, yet itâs already doing great. The Scandi dĂ©cor looks fab, the cocktails are excellent and the food tasty. I canât see this bar/restaurant doing anything but great. In terms of improvements, all this place needs is for the kitchen to give the smaller things on the plate a little extra attention, but otherwise itâs got all the great marking for yet another excellent Drake & Morgan bar and restaurant.
The Vibe
City boys and girls have become quite familiar with the Drake & Morgan groupâs work thanks in no small part to the enduring success of bar-restaurants like The Anthologist and The Folly. The group has built its reputation on offering bustling but good-looking and casual venues to have a drink and a bite after work. Now the workers of Regentâs Place, a redevelopment straddling Great Portland Street, Warwick Street and Euston, can enjoy a pleasant after work alternative to uninspiring chains like All Bar One and Corney & Barrow by dropping into the groupâs latest offering â The Refinery.
The venue sticks to the D&M groupâs classic formula of extravagant light fittings, dimmed for effect with a large bar area packed with groups of colleagues and couples and a smaller restaurant section with candlelit tables and a large open kitchen â prime midweek after work date territory. There is a smaller, quieter bar at the back of the restaurant if you feel like getting slightly more intimate.
The Order
Itâs midweek and youâve had a tough day at work. Ask for the extensive and surprisingly good quality wine list and pick a decent bottle of red to get you started. Order a small plate (the flat breads are excellent) to share if youâre peckish and if youâre both keen to continue with proceedings after that, it might be time to look at the cocktail menu and order something slightly more substantial to eat. The Refinery does casual dining well â donât expect anything gourmet, but do expect decent quality burgers, steaks and sandwiches. The portions are healthy and will help to soak up that midweek Malbec.
The Game
Letâs be honest, like its sister bar-restaurants, the Refinery is no place for romance. Itâs hump day and youâve decided to swerve the Champions League match on TV because the girl you matched with on that new dating app (you know, the one thatâs way cooler than Tinder, Happn and Badoo) has agreed to meet you for an after work drink. Youâre not convinced but youâre willing to give it a go â a casual half bottle of red on a Wednesday canât hurt, can it? Meet at the bar straight after work and grab a seat in the busier bar area. Order that bottle of red and if itâs going well, suggest that you look at the food menu to prolong the evening and absorb the booze. You donât want to be too hungover for your busy Thursday at work.
The Faults
It is most definitely a post-work haunt and romance is will be at a premium. The food is unlikely to impress your date if she spends her weekends hanging out at Broadway Market.
Sex Factor
1. Midweek is not an easy sell but if you decide to meet on a Thursday (normally The Refineryâs busiest night) and make it on to the second bottle and/or the cocktail menu then you can never say never.
Britishly brilliant and wonderfully cosy.
A first time visit to this Regents Place bistro restaurant, I am greeted with the warm presence of its high beam ceilings, beautifully designed furniture draped in sheepskin rugs. It almost feels like I should be in the middle of some snowy region, toasting marshmallows, log fire and all.
You wont be disappointed with that fact that it comes with its own buzzing atmosphere, even for a Wednesday night, the bar to the far left side is packed with after work goers knocking back a glass of vino or three.
Andreas was our waiter for the evening and was most obliging when it came to choosing the 'right' cocktail. There is a decent selection, including a 'skinny' range for those who like to watch the calories.Â
Lavender love is a gin based cocktail with, you guessed it, lavender sugar, raspberries and my latest obsession - frothy egg white. This is living :)
Starting off with some ginger squid and crispy bits of sweet potato, my foodie partner in crime went for the chicken satay. Which I might add was the bees knees!
On to the next cocktail and since im all about trying new things, I was interested to know what a skinny gold fish in a bag was all about. Keeping with the gin theme (we should always stick to the same drink of poison) included was rhubarb bitters, pink grapefruit and edible lily pads. Just sounds absolutely delightful doesn't it.Â
With the main course in site, I had my heart set on the cottage pie with sweet potato mash. Im not going to lie, I have not eaten one single meat pie since ive lived in the UK so as I wasn't actually sure what I was in for, I kept the expectations to mid range level.Â
As I always tend to go for the sweeter option and since I had gorged so much already, the sensible thing to do was either order nothing (which is never an option) or the cheese platter. Lady B was slightly more adventurous with her selections and went for the 'mini' pudding shots.Â
Mini they were not! Arriving in lavish, colourful glass dessert bowls there was a trio of brownie, apple crumble and wagon wheel. One should never complain about over the top portion sizes, however this was just insane but heavenly pleasing at the same time.Â
Despite the fact that we were so ridiculously full by the end of the night, there was still room for a few snaps with plenty of happy, smiley faces. True evidence of a splendidly great evening.
Absolutely love this vibey bar! My friend was vibing to their playlist so hard! The ambiance is on point, and the staffs are just as amazing as the drinks. Perfect spot to unwind and enjoy good company. đž
Bit loud tho, me and my friend were proper shouting at each other đ€Ł but overall amazing experience!
A fine modern bar at the base of a tall building. The Refinery is a bright glass encrusted bar close to Warren Street station. I like it. A selection of keg beers is on offer but there is nothing for you cask enthusiasts. Service is bright and welcoming. There is an open kitchen across the back wall. A lively and pleasant place for a drink or something to eat.
I would like to say how accommodating Fergal and his team was from 15:40-16:40, (11/09/23) at this beautiful place.
I approached Fergal for an odd request and he accepted my request and he dealt with the situation flawlessly.
The staff at The Refinery are always friendly and polite and have always treated me well.
Just wanted to say how professional the staff are here and itâs hugely appreciated and that is always why I enjoy spending time here.
What a great team.
Love you all
Sam.
Excellent experience. I was with a couple of friends at the venue and honestly have to say that was amazing. The staff was really friendly and the service was very well. Food very nice and good presentation. I will definitely come back soon to the restaurant.
Came here for after work drinks and got hungry so ordered some food. Not too shabby for a bar. Pleasantly surprised with the food and staff were very accommodating.
Wheelchair access: step free and accessible toilets were available.
Ok, the food was superb!! And service super super good. Wish I had taken a pic of the fish pie.
Very good place to dine and drink the main meals are wonderful and the choice of different kinds of cocktails is very good indeed would come here again
Amazing atmosphere. Great food. Brilliant customer service. Price reflects the quality. Gets a thumb's up from me.
Had a good burger here. Cheese burger with bacon, and fries with truffle. Would recommend if you're in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way to get here
It was a really pleasant experience, the place is spectacular and the atmosphere exquisite, we ordered salmon for dinner and we loved it, we will repeat without a doubt
