Great pizza with creative and delicious vegan options. Friendly and generous staff who went above and beyond! Made my experience truly special.
Top venue, great place for small party, we had a fantastic time last night thanks to your great staff, food and drinks!!
I literally am here at least once a week, the best pizza I've ever tasted ! Staff are cool and friendly and when there's a big group of us we have a great time, music is always the best !
Voodoo Ray's is some of the best pizza I've ever had. During our summer in London once we discovered this magical place, we went as often as we could. The Queen Vegan pizza is AMAZING! Since being back in the states, I've yet to find a vegan pizza that comes close to it. Which is incredibly sad haha. The next time I'm in London, this will be my first stop =D.
The pizza is amazing, so many good and different toppings. The staff are friendly too.
Drunk food heaven. Nothing else like it
Spot on nice pizza, great cocktails, my kind of place

Best pizza in Dalston, Shoreditch and now Camden. Green velvet is a winner!
Best pizza ever. Best pizza ever. Best pizza ever.
delicious Gluten free Pizza, worth the wait
We were here on a manic Monday to make the most of their Monday deals. Great wholesome filling pizza slices for a steal. Plenty of variety and interesting veggie options. No complaints from me!
Pizza and cocktails – does it get much better? Yeah, probably but it’s still a winning combo for casual night out as I found when I stopped by the recently opened Ray’s Bar in Dalston. The team behind Voodoo Ray’s and Dalston Superstore launched Ray’s Bar about a month ago. The basement bar sits beneath Voodoo Ray’s (but is entered from a separate door) and is hardly a minute’s saunter from Dalston Superstore.
Voodoo Ray's has a fantastic vibe about it and obviously very popular. It was a rainy Monday night when I visited and the place was pumping, and for a very good reason as I discovered. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the pizza was excellent. Sparse but flavoursome toppings staying true to the traditional Italian style of pizza with the bases being the real winner. There are a number of pizza options on the menu but be sure to ask about the chefs special for the night as well. Word of advice if you haven't been there before, if possible try to get in early as some of the more popular pizzas sell out fast. Don't despair though as there are plenty of other delicious options.
Overall
Service: excellent
Cleanliness: excellent
Food: excellent
Will I return: definitely!
The pizza hot spot in London! Went back the night after as I was so impressed with the thin crusted, generously topped slices. £4 suddenly seems much better value after you've tackled the epic sized slice. Highly recommend the fennel sausage pizza! The pulled pork was also pretty mouth watering. And Victorian craft beer- little creature- what a find!
Voodoo Rays is a Amercian pizza joint in Dalston and in Boxpark, Shoreditch. It serves HUGE New York style pizza and a selection of cocktails including frozen margaritas. The best bit is the fact it is open until 3am on Friday and Saturday nights if you fancy some late dinner after a dance! I visited around 11pm and it was busy and playing some great tunes – just a nice, chilled out atmosphere.

I would call this place slightly American, as buying pizza by the slice and getting a decent slice for that matter seems very New York to me. I guess it does have that East London hipster vibe as well.
I got a slice of the olive, sausage and white cheese (looked a bit like feta), which felt very Mediterranean to me and it tasted really nice. I also got a beer with it that I liked the packaging of but that was not particularly impressive.
In general I did like the food and the atmosphere and it is a great place to go after you've had a few drinks on a night out. Not sure if I would cross the city to get there just for it but if I happen in the are and crave some pizza I'd be happy to visit again.
Voodoo Rays has a casual, chilled out ambiance with stripped back but interesting decor. I really like how they have all the pizzas out on display - I always end up just pointing at the one that catches my eye. There's a great variety of pizza types on offer too - including some tasty veggie options and a vegan slice too.
I went for a slice of The Meat Is On, covered in minced steak, pepperoni, ham, pancetta, mozzarella and tomato sauce. And although it's 'only a slice', Voodoo Ray slices are pretty darn big. I probably could have eaten two, but for a post night out snack this was just what I needed. The thin crust and generous toppings make for a tasty slice, quick and easy to order and eat. Great value and taste!
So amazing pizza!!! Can't stop appreciating! So amazing pizza. Will definitely come back again. Pizza!!! Pizza!!! Pizza!!! Definitely will come back for another slice!!!
Pizza by the slice is a New York City tradition. Dan & Dan of Voodoo Ray's brings this to London. Dalston is the place to be. Nothing better than picking up a slice in your hands and savoring the crust. The toppings are extensive and I usually have them put combinations on a plain slice as i prefer my slices extra crunchy.
Dude, this place is the BOMB!!!!

The Dalston area is home to some of my absolute favourite restaurants (Umut 2000, Best Turkish Kebab & Mangal 1 to name but a few) and now, thanks to @annixontong’s recommendation, I can add Voodoo Ray’s to that list.
I’ve never been a fan of Chicago style pizza; instead I’ve always leaned towards New York style pizzas with their thinner but larger slices. So imagine my face when I was browsing our feed on Zomato (app review coming very soon) and saw @annixontong (WeTryKai on Zomato) reviewing Voodoo Ray’s and their New York pizza slices.
I immediately got on the phone to my friends and within a week had us sitting down in front of a few slices. I went for a Hot Mix 5 slice, some oven baked mac and cheese and a can of Czech beer, whilst my two friends both went for The Meat Is On.
Just one slice? I (pretend to) hear you asking. Well, when I said larger slices, I wasn’t joking. Right outside of Ray’s there’s a board which proudly reads “2 slices = 1 11” inch pizza” and maaaaan, they ain’t bullshitting, these things are huge…
… and bloody tasty. The Hot Mix 5, with it’s pepperoni, jalapeno, red chillies, red pepper, mozzarella and tomato sauce was properly good, with every single ingredient coming through strong at one point or another. Granted they were out of Hot Mix 5 slices when we first got there so they had to make a fresh lot (which, obviously would taste better than a pizza that had been sitting out) but the The Meat Is On slices (that were already cooked) didn’t look bad at all… But there was one complaint that they both made…
You see, whilst I had absolutely no complaints whatsoever about my Hot Mix 5 slice, loving not only the size and thickness but the toppings, my friends were less than impressed with their toppings. Taste wise they were happy as Larry but when you’re ordering a pizza called The Meat Is On, you’re going to be expecting mountains of meat… which you’re not going to get. That’s not to say that there was no meat on the slices but less than what the name suggests. Still, I loved the Hot Mix 5 so much that it will be a struggle to try something new the next time I pop in to Voodoo Ray’s.
When ordering the mac and cheese we somehow completely missed the “add bacon or jalapenos for only 50p” option and so went without both. The mac and cheese was nice (using good quality cheese is never a bad thing) and had lots of flavour but not up to the same standard as the pizza; maybe bacon or jalapenos (or both) will fix that.
All things considered, Voodoo Ray’s had to be something very special if it was going to pry me away from visiting Umut 2000, which is only a stones throw away and I’m pleased to say it was. ICCo has been my go to place for pizza for as long as I can remember but it’s time for a new king… And his name is Ray… and he practices voodoo…….. apparently.

Fantastic New York style pizza. I'm usually more into the toppings, but the crust steals the show. A must try. If you like spice, get the chili sauce. I promise you won't be disappointed.
Throughout history, there have been many an occasion where Americans have taken something foreign and made it their own, whether it be for the better or for the worse. A few examples off the top of my head? How about the TV show "The Office" or say, macaroni which will forever divide opinion and depending on who you ask, they will tell you that the Americans either bastardised it or enhanced it.
Well I for one like to judge things on merit - if I am getting enjoyment out of something then what good does it do me to hold a purists view just for the sake of it?
Which brings me to one of the greatest (and tastiest) debates: pizza - American or traditional Italian?
As background, the main difference between Italian and American pizza is found in the crust with an Italian pizza having a thin crust made of flour, water and yeast vs. an American pizza which has a thick crust made of flour, water and yeast plus sugar, salt and oil. However beyond this is the more obvious fact that Italian pizzas usually only have a limited number of toppings while American pizzas are a bit more well, outlandish at times.
So, here's the question, which do you prefer?
For me, it's neither because there is the wild card - the iconic New York slice. I know what you're thinking, "Um you idiot, New York is in America!" and I fully appreciate this fact, but a New York slice is not just an American pizza - it is quite simply, a New York slice. To define what it is, I turn to our most trusted source, Wikipedia:
"New York-style pizza is characterized by large hand-tossed thin-crust pies, often sold in wide slices to-go. Distinguished by being light on the tomato sauce, it has crust which is crisp along its edge yet soft and pliable enough beneath its toppings to be folded in half to eat."
There is just something so damn romantic about picking up a massive slice the size of a small pizza, folding it in half, lifting it up while the oil trickles out from the pressure and then stuffing it in your face. Ugh heaven. Thank you.
So where can you get your own little slice of heaven on this side of the Atlantic because I don't know about you but I'm certainly in no position to fly over to New York just for a slice of pizza! Fear not fellow Londoners for we have our very own Voodoo Rays here to save the day.
Located in trendy Dalston Junction, you come to Voodoo Rays for one thing - pizza, pizza and more pizza. And boy is there pizza. Meat pizza, vegetarian pizza, meat and vegetable pizza, it honestly feels like the choices available are limitless. It's a beautiful sight to behold.
I couldn't possibly list all of the different varieties on offer or even recommend a favourite - all I can say is go. DO IT!

Words can't describe how much I love this place. Well this is what I find myself saying when in line for my order. Traipsing around Dalston at 2am avoiding kebab shops like a pinball machine down the high street when you stumble across this Mecca...
I previously reviewed Pizza East another great pizza place however this is the polar opposite to that restaurant. The pizzas are thick with cheese, but not greasy. The slices are huge, but you only need one or two. Really good choice of canned beer too, If you're bored of BeaverTown's Gamma Ray then go for Longboard, if not then the aforementioned beer will suit.
The music great the place is a buzz with all sorts of different people doing all sorts of different things. If someone asked me to sum up where the forward thinking youth culture of the art districts in london like to eat? I would take the here in an instant. If they asked me where to go when youre being refused entry by cab drivers, I would also take you here in an instant.
Solid crust. Nice atmosphere. Wish the drinks had a bit more alcohol.
Pizza slices as big as your head. These pizzas are your authentic New York pizzas, you best bet is to go there before or after catching a film at the Rio just down the road as they do a nice little deal where you can get money off a slice. You only need one of them!
I came here at 1am after going to a party at Dance Tunnel with my boyfriend (a venue directly underneath Voodoo). Having danced for a few hours, I was desperately hungry so we took a break from clubbing to grab some authentic pizza at Voodoo Ray's. I had never been here before and was so glad to see a pizza place directly above the club we were at, when coming out for a breath of fresh air.
We ordered the "Got Beef" and "The Meat is On" pizzas between the 2 of us. The slices were pretty large and very satisfying. They bake the 22" pizzas freshly every day, using Caputto flour for the dough, Italian plum tomatoes for the Napoli sauce and Fior di Latte mozzarella. They also serve a wide variety of alcoholic drinks, which is handy if you're heading for a big night out on Kingsland High St. This restaurant opens until very late, shutting at 3am on Friday and Saturdays. If ever out in Dalston again, will definitely be stopping by!
Perfect for catching up with friends over a slice if nice pizza and a beer
Very friendly staff and good selection of NY style pizza.... margarita was beautiful for the style even though we only tried individual slices (so they were reheated) but will definitely be back to sample a full pizza. Nice industrial vibe and surprisingly calm and cosy to sit in and eat on a Saturday night....would recommend for a good NY style pizza.
I've been to the Peckham branch before and accidently stumbled on this store. As a family of vegetarians, there were so many options. We shared a 22-inch pizza, and it happily fed 5 of us for £30 - a rarity in London. The pizza was so fresh and an impressive sight! Our waitress was lovely and really made our experience so special. Thank you so much!!
A GREAT pizza place in London, super tasty. I visited once and I will be going back to try more slices! Best to go when it's not busy because it can become very crowded. The vibe in cool, popular with hipsters but overall it's a classic pizza place with great options to try.
Not sure if it's good value, £4.90 a slice? No idea what the going rate is. The margherita was superb, the pepperoni also very good
Great little place. Love bring able to have a couple of slices of different pizzas, rather than a whole small one. Toppings are tasty and the dough is great. Due to the size, the ratio of crust is far better.. and what a crust! Make sure you get a dip for it. Pillowy but crisp outside. King Tubby is a favourite. Good place to pop in if you're on your own.
Popped in for a few giant slices, I bought a selection of veggie/no meat slices and each was super nice, they all had their own distinct flavour and I loved them all. Customer service was ok I guess, but a friendly reminder to staff to smile, show you're happy to see a customer.
Great pizza and lovely customer service when the main manager is around (maybe he's the owner?). I go here regularly and unfortunately with the newer staff the service is hit or miss. I keep coming back because the pepperoni pizza is amazing but occasionally the attitude from the staff is extremely off-putting
Loved our two vegan slices! the El Niño with the new vegan Mozzarella was delicious had to go back for a second slice. Howard gave us great service, and let us know about the vegan options.
Recommended for anyone looking for a quick munch!
Pizza was authentic & tasty. The portions are large and I paid £8 for two slices. Knocked a star off as some of the staff could have been more friendly.
Really enjoyed this place and its pizzas. Pizzas were big and delicious good choice of options for meat and veg lovers alike. Personally though I love as much toppings on a pizza as possible and I think maybe a weekly/monthly special that's different from the regular menu would be a good addition. Especially for toppings that you would think hmmm thats different. Staff and service were great and friendly. The vibe is cool. Highly recommend
Great Pizza, can't fault the food and the size of the multicolour parachutes we used to play with at school. Forgot our drinks though, slip of the mind and minor issue but wouldn't stop me going back for the Pizza 👌
THE PERFECT PIZZA STOP! Fast, tasty, by the slice or go mega and get a whole huge round. Such a vibe late into the evening. Look no further for your late night feed
I've made a visit here in the late evening to grab a beer and some pizza and I'm now a big fan. The pizza was great, drinks menu top notch but the real game was the vibe. I felt like I was travelling back to 80s somewhere in the US or at least that's how I imagine it to be.... A big thanks to the staff. They are really good and professional.
Over-ordered and enjoyed it! Got a take away half/vegan margarita pizza and smashed it! Vegan cheese was on point as were the cocktails while waiting for the pizza.
