Counter Culture is the sort of tacked on extenstion of The Dairy comprising of a tiny kitchen where everything is made and a few high chairs from where to squash up and eat. I make it sound unappealing but actuallly I love it. Don't go with more than 2 people as you'll find you can't talk to one another and you're less likely to get a slot. The walls are surrounded by jar of mystery pickles in progress. It has inspired me to make my own Kimchi (as of yet it's at the "thought that counts" stage). The menu is designed for sharing and seemingly designed for asking what they recommend. They advise 2 people order the whole menu... simples! On this occasion however we do feel that's a bit too much so try to narrow down a bit. I'm glad I took a photo of the menu because there was no way I was going to remember what we ate.

I first notice the sour bread with Nduja and cultured cream as one of the dishes on Timeout Top 100 dishes in London. We're definitely having that and the cream is a perfect accompaniment to the spicy sausage. Our waitress (who remembered me the second time I went in - bonus points!!) highly recommended the Coco beans, it's not something which struck us at all but it was an amazing composition of chilled coco bean soup with whole almonds and grapes. The romanesco was served pretty much raw, I think I enjoyed the preserved lemons atop of it more than the actual vegetable. Smoked Eel was amazing and the kimchi in steamed bun was fantastic. All in all a very well thought through menu which changes on a regular basis. Miso happy!

I went to Counter Culture with my husband and another couple for a Friday night dinner. This restaurant works best if you go in a couple - but in saying that, we worked fine at a counter with 4 people. I have to say - the server is one of the nicest people in the world! She made us feel as if we had come into her home and she was hosting us for dinner. All of the dishes were amazing. We had one of each of the menu items, including the special. It is hard to pick a favourite dish but I especially liked the ox cheek and bambi bao. It's great that this restaurant is BYO. One of the best casual restaurants all around!

The Dairy in Clapham had been on my list for a long time and for one reason or another I had to cancel bookings there multiple times. But when I read the fantastic review of their sister restaurant, Counter Culture, and managed to get three out of their 14 seats for dinner I couldn’t believe our luck. And I actually had no idea how lucky we actually were until we went and had such a fantastic and fun meal. The menu is tiny so we got to try everything and were blown away by the creativity and flavours! A must visit!!!

We went for the Irish taster menu and were not disappointed! The oysters and wild garlic mash were particular highlights. It's very small so recommend 2 as perfect or 4 as max (we went as 4). Drinks are served but it's also BYO at £10 corkage per bottle. Service is pretty good and efficient and would definitely go back to try the next chef of the month.

A delightful little gem. Small, so book ahead. Minimalist menu of tapas style, small plates. The whole menu is good to share for two people. The sour potato flatbread with nduja (nice and spicy) and cultured cream is really tasty. Accompanied by a variety of spiced cellar salami and pickled figs. Great combination. I must say the charred broccoli was a bit acrid, slightly too charred, but the pumpkin praline was decent. The next dish was Galician octopus, Romesco, farm beans and pine nuts, which was delicious! Amazingly balanced combination, one of the stand out dishes. Next was gnudi (like gnocchi but with ricotta instead of potato), roasted cauliflower and Parmesan. Again, really delicious. Perhaps too much lemon zest which unbalanced the dish a little. Made it slightly dessert-ish. But still a nice plate and my wife liked it so maybe just a personal taste. The final plate was the venison burger, the “Bambi Big Mac”. Very, very nice! Two sliders, juicy, tender, crisp and sharp pickles. Lovely stuff. We had the pecan tart for dessert and wow, it was class. The wine (Syrah) was nice but the only reasonably priced bottle. Considering the reasonably price of the food the wines seem disproportionately priced. Great service. Overall a really good experience. Highly recommended.

Very nice, cosy little restaurant, with an original menu using fresh products, a mix of vegetables, fish and meat. It only have space for 14 seats so I'd recommend booking in advance. You can sit just in front of the chef, which makes the experience special, as you get to see all your meals being prepared. We went for the full menu, which is a great option to try everything, for only £35.

Such a great local place but make sure you have reservations! The menu changes all the time so it’s good to keep checking and find a menu that appeals to you.

It is always a pleasure to come back. Cosy and intimate, the nenu changes on regular basis and food is always superb. The chef comes and explains the dishes with detail.

Small dishes in a concise menu. Fast and good service in a cosy setting. The two of us ordered the whole list - well done across the board but I really liked the pumpkin agnolotti. Reasonable pricing too.

Really lovely vegan menu, original and full of flavour. Don't go here wearing anything that you can't throw in the wash right after though, the place doesn't have ventilation so we smelled heavily of fried food when we left. Atmosphere a bit lacking compared to the Dairy next door and waitress didn't seem to particularly enjoy her job.

Cute tiny place (max 10 persons! - don't go there without a booking!) with nice food. Not many options tho - standard menu on the day and a selection 2 different wines to choose from. They do have cocktails tho. Quite pricey for what it offers in my opinion...

Incredible place, Service is very fast, staff oh so friendly, food is phenomenal and atmosphere is amazing. It is tiny, but the waitress makes it very cozy and comfortable. Because of the size though, you definitely want to book a table, especially on the weekends. If you have some time to travel or you live close you should not miss it. The best place I have visited in a long time.
