The food is absolutely delicious! I had the mussamun curry with beef, panang curry witch chicken and the yellow pumpkin curry. I would highly recommend all 3 and would like to choose a favourite but can't because all 3 are equally amazing! It's also really reasonably priced for the portion size you get and tastes really authentic, love this place!
I came across Siam by chance as I was walking to the Courtauld from Covent Garden yesterday. Went back for a quick lunch of absolutely delicious Chicken Tom Yum - an incredibly generous portion for an incredibly reasonable price! Amazingly fast service and lovely staff too. I'll definitely be back :o)
Yellow pumpkin curry with chicken was the best GDF takeaway meal I've ever had - fresh and full of natural flavour. Simply D E L I C I O U S ! Thank you.
OMG just had the new pumpkin Thai curry best vegan dish I have had ever
You'll know from the wonderful aromas you encounter in the shop that you're in for a treat. This is healthy, authentic, carefully prepared Thai cuisine served up by a genuine staff. Plus they hit your sweet spot with indulgent treats like Banoffee pots, and fresh lychee. A perfect pick-me-up in Covent Garden!
Great food at a great price
If you want to know the taste of Heaven ,come here ! It's s so delicious !
Amazing red curry and great value for money! Staff were really friendly too and helpful with my dietary needs.
Food was amazing, and really very kind and friendly stuff
I love there chiken panang creamy coriander chiken with ris Wow
Lovely food and service. Lovely red curry and tamarind duck. Rambutan for dessert are delicious!
Very good, enjoyed the food & will definitely be coming back again.
How fast food should be done. Surprisingly delicious healthy food.
Best Thai curry I've had in London and such good value
Fantastic food and service. Would definitely recommend everyone to try this place at least once!
Had Thai Green Curry over here with Jasmine Rice on a Winter Evening while in London. It was my best decision ever which made me go for a second helping of the rice as it was that good! Go for the bigger bowl and you’ll believe me :)
Having just come back from Thailand not too long ago and having the Thai flavours still very fresh in my mind, I was so impressed at how authentic the food at Siam tastes.
The staff are really nice and friendly and welcoming too.
I recommend the massaman curry and the panang curry, both extremely delicious! Anytime you want Thai food quick, this is definitely the place to go!
Thai food is my 2nd favorite cuisine in the world and Siam Eatery has rocketed straight to the top of all of my favorite Thai restos. Situated behind the Covent Garden piazza, it is located in the prime area where when you get out of watching a play, you can grab a quick bite to eat but also in an area where you don't have to worry about bumping into a whole lot of people. They serve the traditional Thai fare: curries, hot and sour soups, cold noodles, and even South East Asian fruits. They serve it all in small take-out containers that are very handy to carry, so it's not a problem if you choose to take a bite while taking in the sights and sounds of Central London.
As of press time, I've tried 3 different dishes in their menu, the Green Chicken Curry, Duck Tamarind, and Rambutans in Syrup.
Green Chicken Curry - thick slices of chicken that were cooked to succulent levels, it is flaky enough to separate with a fork but not dry as to induce threadiness in the mouth. The sauce it thick and creamy, with the herbs just jumping around in my mouth. It was slightly spicy, but it made perfect sense to the entire package; it is a curry, after all. It wasn't overpowering but it just coated your tongue leaving you wanting for more. The vegetables were crisp and tender, creating a distinct contrast to the tender meat and creamy sauce. My friends know I have an avulsion to rice but regardless if you eat this with white or brown/red rice, it just makes perfect sense. A classic done right in a bowl.
Duck Tamarind - thick, meaty slices of duck coated in a sour and salty glaze that tastes like a cross between the sauce of sweet/sour pork and beef gyudon. You can taste the actual tartness of tamarind and it makes it mingle perfectly with the duck. It is not even dry in the slightest, but it is cut thickly and juicy to the point of chunkiness. There was a minimal amount of vegetables in this one, with the eatery deciding to highlight the duck more. It makes the sauce a tad bit heavy without the vegetables to balance it out. A bit more would be a welcome addition, but all in all, it just tastes awesome. The kicker? Less than 7 quid for duck. Deyum.
Rambutan in Syrup - Rambutan in syrup. Lychee-like fruits in syrup. That's about as straightforward as it can get. Haha. at least it doesn't taste like it came out of a tin can. Fresh and crispy, it makes a perfect palate cleanser to the entire bowl.
I am definitely coming back to sample their other dishes but as of now, I am truly very satisfied with their dishes. The flair and distinction in their meals just ooze out of every single bite. It is Thai fast food done right; no frills, no bells and whistles; just really good food at a reasonable price.
Sincerely,
Your Neighborhood Hungry FatSpiderMan
This place is great, its very convenient and open both in the day for the lunch run and later in the evening for those of you that are heading out.
The restaurant has a small amount of seating and has a really nice finish and feel to the place. The staff are very friendly and the owner is always on site and very helpful.
Personally I always go for the beef massaman (its amazing) the desserts are also excellent and unlike many places all made on site, banoffee pie is to die for!
My favorite place to stop off when I'm in a hurry, feels and looks healthy, fair price, and less "chainy" than many other imitators in the area.
The most authentic Thai food you will have in the city hands down! There is a great variety of dishes all made fresh with my personal favourite being the beef mussaman curry. They also have some amazing desserts like the banoffee pie in a pot, whoever thought that up is a genius! If you are near this part of town you owe it to yourself to visit this place, you will not be dissapointed!
The noodle soup was very tasty and service quick for lunch.
Could earn five stars if not for the combination of slightly high price and the fact that the chicken was not of the best quality.
Amazing selection of wine and cheese. Super tasty and reasonably priced.
Lovely little place just off one of the busiest parts of town - which is probably what makes it so good. Great service ever time we have been here and the staff know exactly what they are recommending if you're stuck on what to choose.
Ooooh, how I loooove this place! I always go there for lunch. I tried everything on their menu, the panang curry is an absolute fav! To be honest, they not always find the right mix between the rice and the curry: it is either too much sauce that the rice floats in curry like a soup or too little rice with no curry left. Suggestion: maybe you can test and try to find the best number of spoon currys to pour over as a standard? Also, could you increase the small takeaway boxes- give larger portions for the same price?😁 I love that I have this wonderful and affordable Thai option next to my workplace🙏 @mapopath
Wonderful selection of wines and food. Booking is advised as it's been busy the two times I've been. It is quite expensive but split between four or five friends works out to be great value.
Authentic Thai curry from Siam Eatery. My favourite used to be the panang, but their yellow curry with pumkin is by far the superior tasting one. It's their own homemade recipe so you can't get it anywhere else. Also with everything on the menu under £10, it's definitely a tasty cheap eat
Small and quaint. Would be good for dates. Wide selection of champagne with nibbles to match.
Fantastic cheese afternoon tea for two with champagne! Every afternoon should be so fabulous! C'est très bien! Merci beaucoup!
Lovely for champagne & fromage. The champagne fondue is beyond delicious! Perfect for a cold winters day!
A tasty choice for lunch at a cheap price (for the area)!! Tried the green curry and will definitely go there again for the same option. I wish the opening hours were a bit longer on some days of the week.
Make sure you check when they're open as the times vary during the week.
The place is quite small so don't necessarily expect to find seating, especially because many students and local workers go there, however the food comes in a large cup ready to take away.
We stumbled across this place to grab a quick bite to eat before a show at the theatre. Simple menu but food didn't lack in flavour. Curries tasted authentic and homemade Thai milk tea washed it all down nicely. Place is small, so not a lot of sit in space, but people were happy to share tables.
Delicious part of Paris in central London .Thanks
I went there with a friend of mine. They offer casual Thai food to take away. The price is really good and the portion is generous. The food is quite authentic.
Eating in is also an option. They have seating for about 10 people but the turnover is quick. We will definitely go back for some more yummy food.
Great choice for a quick bite before a show in the theater district. The to-go sandwiches are made fresh on the spot, with high quality ingredients
Amazingly delicious Thai food. 100% authentic, with great options of salads, curries, noodles and rice. Prices top out at about £6. The owner uses her own family recipes for the food, so if you, like I, suffer from food allergies, they can tell you definitely which items are safe for you. Can't say enough about how good it is!
How I miss that Chicken Panang! <3 This was my favourite take away restaurant when I worked in Covent Garden. I keep trying to find similar ones, but unfortunately I still haven’t. It’s small but cosy if you want to eat in as well and staff is always friendly. It’s true that they have changed a bit some recipes and portion sizes and that prices have gone up a bit, but overall I love it and miss it loads.
I am new to London and kind of on a budget, so finding places to eat that serve hot food that isn’t too expensive (I got tired of sandwiches and cold salads after only a week) has been a challenge. I ordered the Vietnamese Pho with prawns and it tasted great. I just added a little hot sauce. I can’t comment on authenticity, but I really enjoyed my meal.
