I had set my mind on a affordable, quick, but healthy, bite to eat, before work today, so when I left Embankment station I started searching for a place to spend my next 45min.
Being a huge fan of Italian cuisine, my eyes wondered to L'ulivo straight away and I decided to walk in.
Cosy place, super friendly staff (huber, actually), and an awesome spaghetti bolognese (my choice for tonight). Couldn't have asked for more. Oh but I will, as I have set my mind on going back there!
A decent Italian restaurant in one of the busiest places in London. Food served was quite good, however they may improve the speed of service considering customers may not have all day during quick weekday lunches.
We have various different kinds of Pizzas all of which were quite good. We liked the crusts and quality of food. One of the guys had a risotto which was quite nice. They have a wide selection of wines and beer which add to the appeal.
As a whole, a decent recommendation for a quick mid week business lunch.
I was looking for an independent restaurant and, as I used to work nearby, I knew Villiers Street would be a good place to start. Visitors to London need to head here (a few hundred metres/yards from Embankment/ Charing Cross). Food and service were good and the facilities were well maintained. Highly recommended.
There was a 12.5% discretionary service charge applied to the bill but I was happy to pay this as the food/service warranted it
Really like the place! The food was nice. The service was fab! Nimmy, our waitress was so friendly and helpful. She also has knowledge about all the items on the menu! The place was so picturesque and beautiful! Overall nice experience
Delicious lunch! We just happened upon this place, and we were glad we did. I had sea bass, which was very good and reasonably priced for a nice restaurant. Definitely recommend
England is not known for having the best food. After days of eating bland, unseasoned mediocre meals we were ecstatic to find this restaurant! The food was hands down the best we had on this trip and the second time we ate here the meal I had was probably my most favorite meal I’ve ever had. The service is fine. The kitchen is quick and efficient. The staff isn’t overly friendly but no complaints. Our server remembered us the second time we came in which was nice. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area looking for an amazing meal!
I had gnocchi and my husband had the lasagna. Wow! Both were fantastic! It's a small place and the servers are really busy but still attentive. The portions are huge and so flavorful. Would highly recommend!
Want pizza? Come here. Don't go to a chain or a themed restaurant, come here an authentic family run Italian. We've been coming here for years. Why? Family friendly from babies to teens. Price is good for London, portions are great and there's vegan cheese...
It's lovely Italian restaurant in London.
We accidentally visited this restaurant while roaming around from Charing Cross station.
Atmosphere of the restaurant is very attractive. Staff was very friendly.
I liked foos & drinks both.
Food is good nice service, clean will visit again, salmon creme spaghetti is good forgot to take picture, portion is big
I am not a huge fan of Italian cuisine but my friend came over to my office after work and we were both hungry and decided to have a nice chat over food so we visited L'ulivo. The dishes we ordered were not bad but we both agreed they could be improved in terms of seasoning or something. We were not wow-ed. My dish was supposed to be spaghetti in tomato sauce but I wanted rice so they made a modification to risotto for me. The rice was undercooked. I don't like chewy rice. Not sure if that's how risotto is supposed to be.
The dish was £23. I've got better satisfaction from cheaper dish elsewhere.
On the more positive side, the service was ok. Waiters were respectful. The ambience is nice as well. But most importantly, the company was great.
Had a wonderful Belated NYE dinner with my partner. The food was lovely. Enjoyed the spinach and ricotta ravioli and we both loved the chianti served here. Not bad at all!
It was my first time here. Will definitely go back again.
Quick friendly service.
Great food.
I loved the decor.
The decor of the toilets was worth a visit.
It was clean.
Walked into this restaurant by chance and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food! We were blown away by the lamb shank from the Christmas menu. Ordered risotto and their signature salmon & spinach pasta, which were great as well. Highly recommend this place!!
Atmosphere was great. Very soothing and adequate for a lovely night. With reservations you get your table pretty fast which we gladly did.
Caesar Salad was nice, needs to be mixed before eating to make sure all flavors are mixed with the sauce.
Gamberoni Al Burro was tasty and cooked quite nicely. Would’ve loved to taste the sourness more but still good.
Penne Fantasia, the classic Pizza Margarita, and Risotto Al Funghi were all good choices that we went with. You can’t go wrong with any of them.
An Italian restaurant with the usual selection of dishes. The staff seem to be mainly from that region which added to the atmosphere. Portions were reasonably good but for the price, which was on the high side, there could have been a bit more. The menu was difficult to interpret given my unfamiliarity with this kind of food. Pictures rather than words would have helped me choose what to order.
Good spacious Italian restaurant. A good selection of Pizzas and pasta s. The portions are generous. The price is reasonable for west end. You can watch the chef doing his magic thru the window.
Food is wonderful, there was too many staff members wondering around however. We were asked the same question by three different staff members in the span of a minute and the same sort of thing kept happening the entire time. All staff were lovely and friendly and the food was incredible like I said. It just got annoying being interrupted so regularly with questions we had already answered.
