Creative menu with much attention. Carefully selected quality ingredients combined with authentic attentive English service. Great light bites beautifully presented on fabulous crockery. The attention to detail certainly makes me return to this place frequently. The burrata is exquisite with a delicious basil sauce inside it. Whilst the coffee is easily the best served on Heddon Street

Set in trendy Heddon Street, this intimate restaurant punches above its weight for the price one pays. The kitchen is open so you can see the chefs at work. The service is attentive and accommodating. The ambiance is low-key smart casual - perfect for a catch up between a group of friends. Please please try the burrata, truffled celariac and roasted cabbage main. Magpie has an interesting British take on all of them. (Note: The toilets aren't in the best condition at the moment, but that's forgiven because they do acknowledge and apologise for it.)

This place manages to use the most unusual combination of ingredients and make it work with amazing flavorsome dishes! Pretty much all their dishes look beautiful and the deserts are just to die for! Don't forget trying their banana and popcorn desert!

Ran an event at Magpie, the owners were really helpful getting everything sorted. The food cooked by the in house chefs was excellent.

A hidden gem in Heddon Street, went for a quick drink and a snack. Staff were friendly and great at recommending cocktails. They had a interesting 'caramel' butter with the bread haha Its a cosy intimate restaurant great for small groups and dates.

I loved everything about it! The decoration (aesthetically pleasing but unpretentious), the friendly, relaxed service, the wine but above all -the food. It was delicious! Tried the set lunch menu for £28 and I would totally recommend it. It's a lot of food but you won't be able to stop eating -and why should you?

Excellent food. The house wine is competitive as well as the wine list is expensive. Seem to recall minimum bottle start around £25. All dishes we had were interesting and I will definitely be going back. Sister restaurant to Pidgin over in Hackney. It is a good place for parties as it is slightly more spacious than their Hackney restaurant.

Really imaginative and delicious food beautifully served with very nice friendly staff - great atmosphere and wonderful having the kitchen so visible and ‘interactive’. Loved it. £60 per head for 3 of us inc wine and 4 courses - more than enough. A very good evening. Cutlery is not user friendly but apart from that - can’t recommend this highly enough especially if you enjoy rather wacky food! Also in a very nice square off Oxford Street - minutes walk from tube.

Loved the trolley delivery appearing regularly with small and satisfying dishes. Every dish an amazing array of tastes with imaginative and delicious combinations. Vegan companion was cheerfully catered for with adapted and custom-made dishes. Cheerful and knowledgeable service, cool décor. Looking forward to the next visit. Elaine

Went to Magpie for dinner. The restaurant itself is very nice bright and cool with attention to details. Food beautifully presented and tasted great. Okay not super big plates but sharing is caring! Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Like it that you can see the chefs in action. Drinks and wine also great. Will definitely come back when visiting London next time.

Had the most fantastic lunch there with my parents. The beef tartare, pork rillettes and fried chicken were all amazing stand out elements. The service was spot on - very attentive and welcoming! We even got a couple of dishes on the house. Recommend highly - not many places in London can match the high quality food for moderate prices and great service!

We went here for NYE based on recommendations from friends. It’s absolutely incredible...the cocktails were exceptional and the food blew us away. It was a set menu for NYE, so we might have had a slightly different experience vs their regular menu, but the standard was so high I can see their regular menu being just as amazing. Book it! You won’t regret it.

Magpie is an exceptional restaurant. The staff are very professional and extra attentive, we arrived an hour early and they set us up for drinks outside with no hassle or questions. The food blew us away! We’ve visited a number of restaurants claiming to serve ‘modern’ British food but only a few can claim to have created something truly innovative and delicious, Magpie is one of them. Even though everything was super tasty, if you decide to visit Magpie the beef and fried chicken are an absolute must! All this was washed down with great cocktails and superb wine! Bravo guys - I’ll be seeing you again very soon!

What a superb little find. Tucked off Regent st., a relief to find somewhere with real soul. Service was great - v forthcoming with honest suggestions. You can chose what you like as the delicious dishes keep coming. Tasty cocktails and a decent wine list complete the picture. A proper escape in central London, and once in there you could be in hackney/peckham for all the right reasons! Go here with date, clients, friends, you won't be disappointed.

We used a Time Out 50% off food voucher when we ate at Magpie and probably wouldn't have chosen it without that. The food was great, although the menu is quite limited - bread was delicious and the staff were good at accommodating my boyfriend's lactose intolerance. I don't think we'd return and pay full price but I think it's fairly standard for the area it's in.
