Just had lunch here on a Sunday and really enjoyed it. Chilled out atmosphere and good food at reasonable price - avocado on toast for a fiver (it's my yard stick)! Chicken kebab was flavorsome! The staff were super attentive and we got hot drinks on the house which was a lovely surprise. Only downer was that dessert options were a bit disappointing - just cake.

Arrived almost 45 mins before closing today, but we were still welcomed with warmth and enthusiasm. We were given a choice for seating which is always lovely. They advised right away that although the kitchen would close soon as they shut at 4.30pm, they’d ensure our food orders were taken in good time so that we could sit and eat at our own leisure. Before our waiter arrived with our plates, his colleague kindly cleared the table so that we had sufficient space and the food arrived soon after. There is a large selection on the menu and the additional bits are priced really fairly! We ordered 2 vegan breakfasts and some plain maple syrup pancakes. Portions were generous and everything was a good temperature. I have to be honest - this is probably the only place where a simple side of spinach has been so tasty and well seasoned! Pancakes we nice and fluffy and the maple syrup was of a really good quality. Each individual component of the breakfast paired really well with the rest of the meal. Also want to highlight the delicious sourdough toast and the loose chamomile tea which was served in a cute little pot! We weren’t interrupted or rushed in any way considering it was their closing hour and when the waiting staff did check in, they were hospitable and attentive. At the point of payment we were fishing out extra change for the service fee and the gentlemen who served us kindly said he was happy to take what was on the table and told us to enjoy the rest of our day. The service fee was well deserved and we will definitely be returning to enjoy another good meal and leave an overdue tip! Beware that you will likely need a nap after a meal here as it is truly comfort food! Haha

Absolute BEST food we've had in our first 5 days in the UK - not even close! I had the sea bass, my wife had the lazy chef special, one kid had the mixed shish, one kid had the American breakfast, and the last kid had kids pancakes and nuggets. We all loved the food. Service was absolutely amazing. We sat outside for a cool experience. Inside is very nice and bathrooms are so clean! Will absolutely come back before we leave town.

I’ve lived in Forest Hill for 7 years but never really realised it was here until earlier this year. The food is great and my go to place to go after a big week. The staff are always so polite regardless of how busy it is and really take good care of you. And whenever I’ve had to get a quick bite before jumping on a train they’re always so prompt with the food.

Sharing after 4 years of coming here, this is our favourite local brunch place!! The best in Forest Hill, always has delicious food with the friendliest people and service. Also a great vegan option for breakfast! We have brought all our friends and family who also love the food and the staff. Will always be the top of the list for brunch.

We’re not expecting much being located beside the station but our food, coffees and teas were all above average quality and the service was just the right amount of attention and speed. We got on the train full and happy!

I've been here a couple of times now for lunch and the taste and quality of the food is very good. The waiting time to receive the food from ordering is very quick. One thing that niggles me though is that a 12.5% service charge is added onto the bill. If we were a party of 10 being catered to, I could understand it, but two middle aged ladies with a panini and glass of coke each doesn't really seem to justify it.

I return to this Cafe when I'm in need of a top quality breakfast or brunch. It's easily the best on quality in Forest Hill. It's a small building and is very popular with families, unlike the common "greasy spoon cafés". Only one thing to consider when ordering, is note the service charge. Otherwise it's my top choice for breakfast in Forest Hill.

We came here for a Saturday late lunch. I got the Mediterranean breakfast, and my partner got the eggs benedict. They were both lovely! My smoothie was nice too, but super sweet. I would definitely like to come back and try the coffee too 😊 Very friendly service and really nice interior!

The reviews here don't lie, it is really good! With generous portions of great quality food you can feel very well fed for a very reasonable price. You feel right at home in the melting pot of Forest Hill Station. Greeted by friendly staff and prompt service. The menu is extensive offering good meaty, sweety, and healthy options. I left very happy, and will visit again soon.

Had lunch in Lazy Chef in Forest Hill while taking a break from our visit at the Horniman Museum. I had the Lazy Chef Special (made of 2 poached eggs, smoked salmon, avocado, spinach, potato, tomatoes and sourdough toast) for £8.50 and my friend had Mediterranean Breakfast (eggs, halloumi, tomatoes, olives, salmon, feta cheese and sourdough toast) for £9. Service was quick and food was served within 15 minutes. Staff were friendly and the food was good. Portions were ok but I wish they served more sourdough toast as there was only one for each of us. I would definitely give this place a visit again. 4 out of 5 stars.

Tasty food and friendly, welcoming service. The chicken, avocado and hallumi salad was very tasty and the portion size was good but it would have have been better if the salad platters came with pitta bread or pide, to round them out with some carbs.

Excellent cafe, non greasy well cooked full english breakfast. All the ingredients were top quality and cooked to perfection. Also ordered was the Vegan breakfast (avocado, spinach, beans, new potatoes, tomatoes and mushrooms). Both plates were large and very filling, i did not eat again until dinner. The soda bread toast was an excellent addition. Nice coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Very friendly staff, a great experience all round, reccomend to everyone. Update: Visited again, same friendly service. Tried the Mediterranean breakfast with smoked salmon, turkish sausage, feta and haloumi cheese. Also tried the strawberry milkshake, ice cold and creamy, recommend both.

I had a tasty English breakfast with a smoothie and flat white. The food was very good, and the waiter was happy to swap some items for others. Staff were very helpful and friendly, and the coffee was nicely served and smooth tasting. The room has nice light, and an airy feel to it. Lovely way to start the day.

Honestly the nicest place to eat in Forest Hill. The food is incredible, smoothies anre delicious, and it’s great for sitting out in the sun in summer. The staff are friendly and approachable, always up for a laugh and a tease - really make you feel like you’ve known them your whole life.
