I had dinner at The Sawyers Arm last night and it was a good experience.
The place was really crawded, but the staff managed to sort out the orders in a relatively acceptable time.
I have ordered the big fish and chips and it was within the british average, just satisfactory.
I will come back to try their decanted steak pie!
A fine pub with lots of space, thanks to the upstairs bar and dining area. The Sawyers Arms in Paddington, on the corner of London Street and Conduit Place offers a very good choice of both cask and keg beers. Service is excellent. A good place for a pint!
Late Oct23- Tuesday visit mid afternoon. The two staff, man and woman, were delightful and helpful. They looked after our needs, assisted with enquiries and delay with us so friendly .
Exemplary customer service.
We had shared starters and mains for lunch for 3. And drinks.
Green King pub so not overly expensive for central London and wide choice of food. All hot and fresh and tasty
If you're looking for a traditional London pub that won't break the bank then this is a good pick.
The decor is very rustic with plenty of upcycled furniture while the service was quick via the Greene King app. As for the food, the Mac and cheese was a bit watery but the vegetarian chili was delicious.
Ordered the pulled beef rib cottage pie and it was pretty good, the gravy made the dish. Seating was acceptable, but it was cold due to the door to the outside being propped open.
This is an intriguingly sizable Green King pub with several little floors to it. At the time of my visit there were two ales available, the Timothy Taylor Landlord tasted good, though if a little on the pricey side. I've not tried the food but I've no reason to believe that it deviates much from the standard Greene King offerings.
This is an awesome little place I came across when on the way to a gig in London and have now visited a few times. The place is lovely and has an amazing atmosphere with a lot of friendly people. The drinks were reasonably priced and was a great little pit stop to our destination. Spaces to sit down can be limited at times depending on when you go but isna very comfortable place with a lot of atmosphere and friendly staff.
Everything was fine. The waiters are the most kindest and intelligent people I have ever met in London.
The selection of beers was excellent, despite being busy we were served quickly but the food was the stand out. I had no idea Greene King pubs offer specials; I had chicken and mushroom pie with mashed potatoes, roasted chantanay carrots and gravy. All of it was delicious but I was so pleasantly surprised to receive an actual (and not insubstantial) pie – not stew with a hat! I'll definitely be looking to return if we're near Paddington again.
Very exceptional Sunday roast.good value for money, very generous potions and nice fresh tasty food.would recommend it if you’re in Paddington.I give it 10/10………brilliant
Best Pub ever. We were there after being walking around London the whole day. We were really hungry and we were so happy to find this place, because the service was super fast! We had drinks and a dessert and everything was delicious. Also the staff are so friendly and so fast. The environment was so nice and they offer free WiFi 😍 amazing place
It's definitely the worst meal I've ever had in a pub. Won't be going back ever again. I ordered the pulled beef pie. I asked if I can have fries instead of mash, I was told, no. When the meal came, I could see why the answer was "no". I really can't begin to describe it and the veg was something else. (Carrots and Peas). It all looks like it was done elsewhere and warned in the pub. Never again.
Good food! I want to eat scotch eggs but there aren't in the new menu. Excellent dessert!!
Good food, with the classic pub dishes. Pet friendly.
A traditional pub with traditional pub food. I came here twice, once for the fish and chips and once for a steak and ale pie, and of course, beer. No room temperature strong le like there used to be--there are probably better places for beer. The portions are generous. The steak and ale pie and mashed potatoes is British comfort food, right down to the inedible cabbage that goes with it.
Best pub in london! Homily and clean! Good drinks and tasty food! great, friendly, warm staff always up for a laugh, wouldn't spend my money anywhere else, definitely coming back
Very much my London local. Serves great food, always a cheerful atmosphere. I'm especially impressed with how well they keep the Timothy Taylor landlord
