One of the best things about this restaurant is the location. St Katherine's docks is without equal. The staff are very attentive, speedy and unbelievably well dressed. The food is good but a bit tricky to justify the very high expense. Nonetheless we keep going back!
I’m a very tough person to impress with Indian food because it’s my favourite cuisine. I’ve been around and tried a lot of places. Mala is a special place and it truly is a fantastic restaurant. I feel thoroughly nourished... everything of very high quality.
I've been coming here for years and years, every time I come from Italy I have to come at least once. This was the first time I brought my 10 year old son (I usually come to London on business so manage some fun business dinners here) and he absolutely hates spicy food. Let me say that I love the quiet, elegant setting, ultra clean washrooms (not to be scoffed at..) and really excellent service. For my son they recommended a sweet chicken Korma. I had king prawns cooked in coconut with curry, rice pilau, tandoori rosti (bread named in tandoori oven), cheese nan, and ...chicken tandoori. Our guest ordered a set vegetarian meal, really lovely. Hard to say which was better but what I know is that for the first time my son lapped it all up. Heavenly. Seriously strongly recommend. I will definitely return.
Lovely food and great service. Waiters very attentive but not that they're 'in your face'. Location, right on St Katherine's Dock, is delightful. Slightly on the expensive side, especially for vegetable side dishes. Probably paid 33% more than a meal for two at other Indian restaurants I've visited.
An absolutely fantastic evening. All the staff and Vinny (manager) were amazing. The food was out of this world. The Tandoori Lamb Chops were the best I've ever tasted. All the dishes were the highest quality. I will be returning there as sure as the sun will come up tomorrow!
One of the most authentic Indian food eaten so far in London. Definetly worth it! Good location and great service.
Very nice place, looking at a magic, picturesque square in London. Service is excellent! The restaurant is elegant. The food variety could be bigger.
Great ambience and decor. Polite and helpful staff. Location is also ideal.
Food is good quality, reasonable taste and price.
Nice soft music and good quality indian food. Also hot towels amd end of meal!
Another fantastic Indian restaurant in London, great food cooked to perfection and friendly staff!
Even though you a never really sure that they are using a proper booking system, the decor and location of this restaurant are what keeps you coming back. It is situated in the lovely St Katharine's Dock in London. That gives it a small port town vibe. Especially, good for couples dreaming of sailing away on a yacht.
The decor of the restaurant is the big pull for visiting this restaurant with lovely gold and lavish bold colours. It shows expense and like entering a small palace.
The staff is well dressed. However, they can get a little forgetful and slightly hesitant with the service. This is forgivable as the food is plentiful and of a good standard. You standard Indian cuisine is available with an extensive menu of dishes and specials.
Attending on St Valentine's Day, provided a gift of fudge for each table and it coped well with the influx of couples.
Pricing is reasonable and in line with a typical London restaurant.
Overall a very enjoyable experience in particular for special occasions.
Best indian Restaurant and Service!
The atmosphere is perfect and the food delicious:)
We held our Work Christmas party here this year and the whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. Vinnie was incredibly helpful throughout the booking process and accommodating to our changing party size. We ended up having 45 people, which although was a large party size, was handled wonderfully by all the waiters. Food was absolutely delicious. Would thoroughly recommend!
Very good very fancy. For 25 pounds you can get an amazing thali plate.
The food was so good, I forgot to take pictures. By far, the best Indian food I have had in all of London. Lovely venue, quiet space surrounding it. Perfect for groups, or smaller. Portions were just right.
Expect to pay £10-£14 per entree item. Rich, full-bodied flavours, professional waitstaff [our servers wore suits or tuxedos] that are prompt and careful in addressing menu substitutions. Will go back, and perhaps nowhere else while in London.
Visited with my husband as a special treat, the place was absolutely gorgeous, the ambiance lovely, food was amazing. Prices reflect the area slightly higher than your average restaurant but that’s to be expected, but the food was excellent quality. Staff lovely, smartly dressed. will be visiting again on another special occasion looking forward to it very much:)
