Came to this place whilst meeting up with friends who live close to Denmark Hill station. It was 7:30pm last night and the queues were out the door so they took our name and number to call us when a table was ready. Went off the nearby pub for a casual drink and came back 30mins later. We took our seats in the lower section of the restaurant. You could see the big wood fired oven churning out pizzas. We orderd our starter of aubergine parmagiano and our 3 pizzas (margarita, the sausage and the anchovies). The order took longer or we sat so secluded in the corner that we might have been forgotten! We asked if our pizzas will arrive soon as I had to get my train back home. 10mins later the pizzas came but not the starter. The waiter said it will be a few minutes as they had to make a new one. Anyway, then all our food came, the pizzas were deliciously; light, slightly chewy in context they used a sourdough for their pizza bases (the best dough in making pizzas, I think!).
From the facade, Theo's does look like a pizzeria but on the inside; the decor is simplistic, whitewash walls, feels like walking into someone's kitchen than a restaurant. The pizza oven is definitely a stand-out feature as every pizza are made to order.
We were all satisfied but one thing from giving a 5-star was the service that was slower than usual as I am told. I understood it was busy but it was a Thursday night, the waiters needed to step up a notch with organisation when its busy. Overall, the pizzas are great, not disimilar to Franco Manca. Would I go back again? Yes I would and it shows the queues; must be a popular outlet in the neighbourhood.
This is a great pizzeria in Camberwell. It's menu isn't too fancy, which I really appreciate. The Camberwell Scotch Bonnet pizza with soppressata (Italian dry salami) is probably the best pizza on its menu. Also worth trying are the hot sandwiches. Try affogato to finish, a simple but very underrated Italian dessert.
Matcha Udon Dimsum Pasta Foodie

Best pizza in south London. It's unfair if it's underrated due to the location. I support it, but try to have a variety! For example you can also provide some pasta choices.
If Napoletan pizza is about attention to dough and sauce, they have mastered it! Very good authentic Napoletan pizza.
The restaurant is small, with a modern feel. Playing modern music, instead of old pop Italian songs. And prices are honest.
by Sharky | Dec 9, 2015 | London, Hottest New Openings - London, Food, Restaurant Review | 0 comments. Directly across the road from our favourite craft beer boozer in Camberwell – Stormbird – is the newly opened Theo’s Pizza & Panuozzo. It seems to be on the uptake too as a couple of tables in Stormbird had a few of the pizzas on the go as we sat and drank in the beer and the smells from the boxes.
Last night I went to the recently opened 'Theo's Pizzeria" in Camberwell. Owned by Theo Lewis (ex Head Chef of Pizza East), this pizzeria is an elegant version of Franco Manca, and offers a selection of Neapolitan pizzas and antipasti. The restaurant has three seating areas and a garden. On the left side of the restaurant is the main seating area, the decoration is minimalist white walls with wooden benches, bistro chairs and marble tables. In the middle, there is another room with a chimney, which I think will be used mainly for groups or when the main area is full. This area has access to the garden. I really liked this room as it felts like you were in somebody's dining room and not in a restaurant. The right side of the restaurant is a multifunction area, it includes the entrance, the kitchen with a massive wood oven and seating area with bar stools and high tables.
Theo's offers a stunning ambience all-year. Ideal for lunch with colleagues. Even without a booking you won't have to wait long for seats (at least from my experience). Pizzas from the wood-fire oven are tasty and have a smokey aroma.
1st time visiting Theo's, we hadn't booked but didn't have to wait long for a table, I think we were lucky as it's very popular, place is cosy, comfortable and has a certain charm that I like, as you enter there's a bar and just behind is the is the pizza oven looking / smelling really good. The food didn't take long to arrive, we all ordered pizza and the pizzas reminded me of a time I visited Sorrento over 30 years ago....these were the best pizzas I've eaten..... Theo's pizzas were as good as the ones in Sorrento.... excellent a real treat and a lovely culinary delight, service was excellent and everyone was really friendly. Would definitely recommend and look forward to visiting next time.
Really nice decor and really nice food. Pizza was great, wine was nice by the jug and the aubergine Parm was 🤌 date spot, birthday or just a good meal. All covered. Chili sauce was bannnnnnnging.
Love the pizza and the friendly atmosphere! High quality ingredients and authentic pizza. Despite who don’t understand the “the crust a bit burnt” I love it! this is the wood oven pizza with the taste of pizza and wood…it’s an Italian trip 🇮🇹
Pizza is not my type but the potato with cheese inside is very tasty! By the way, their ice cream is better than many ice cream shop.
Top notch pizzas and service. My only recommendation is to have high chairs with straps for the safety of babies, but otherwise all is grand here. Highly recommend
The food is very good, we had the sharing plate (mortadella, crescentine and guindilla chillies plus a burrata), we ordered then the chestnut mushroom pizza(very tasty, the dough was thin exactly how we want it, topping ingredients were enough on it) and we went for two cocktails (spritz cynar and a negroni)
Not to forget about the service, they are very pleasant.
The best pizza in London hands down!
The quality of the dough and the ingredients is incredible!
I have eaten a million pizza across London and this one definitely the lightest and most natural tasting one!
I came years ago and it’s a nice surprise to see that the quality has not gone down.
Friendly and efficient service.
Devine pizzas, lovely atmosphere, very welcoming staff and not too pricey!
Fantastic pizza here and Avery nice chilli oil too, we had nduja with buratta and an aubergine pizza. Both were very tasty and I would love to eat here again. Service was snappy and even though we only shared 2 pizzas between the 2 of us, we left pretty full or full enough at least for a great price. Would return and recommend!
