We had our wedding reception at the Lordship last week and we could not have possible made a better choice! The service and the food were outstanding, the place itself feels so intimate even if is large enough to host 130 and more guests having crazy dances! Food was so important to us, even more with a full Italian family coming from abroad, and guests were simply amazed by the quality and the flavour of the food! Andrew and his team go up and beyond to make your day special and are super friendly and professional. We never tasted a better lamb and gnocchi were just mind blowing (as an Italian this counts double � We cannot thank the Lordship team enough for having made our day even more special. We had our wedding reception at the Lordship in April and it was absolutely brilliant!!
Andrew let us decorate and make the pub our own and him and his team were always accommodating to our suggestions.
The staff are a total credit and they could not of been more helpful. They spent all day making sure everyone had a great time and kept the day running smoothly and seamlessly with no fuss.
The food was second to none - the team made sure everyone had plenty without compromising on quality and the scotch eggs are still getting mentioned!
We have had comments from many guests about the great atmosphere and lovely team and I can safely say The Lordship made the day better than imagined!
First time I've been there great pub with friendly and helpful staff. You could actually hear people talk, would definitely recommend it to friends

Amazing pub! We regularly pop in for an after work drink or a Sunday lunch. Food is tasty, the staff are lovely and the atmosphere relaxed.
We even had our wedding reception here back in May 2016. Perfect choice for a party!

My brother and his wife held their wedding reception at The Lordship pub on Saturday 07/01. It was honestly a wonderful evening from start to finish. I particularly want to compliment Anna on being totally brilliant throughout the whole day. My sons and nephew had such a wonderful time because she got them really involved in the day. All the bar staff and chefs were also fantastic..such yummy food!
Can't wait to come back here! Amazing food, wine & staff. East Dulwich has something very special in The Lordship.

I'm staying with friends around where The Lordship is in East Dulwich so I invariably passed it on a daily basis.
The pub has recently been renovated and it has a really nice vibe to it. The staff have always been friendly and nice.
They have a daily menu that has always looked rather delicious. It has a gourmet feel to it rendering the outlook of this pub as a gastro joint.
So I ordered the cheese burger because I wasn't in the mood to experiment. It was a good choice too because this turned out to be one of the better burgers I've had in a very long time. It was juicy, veggies on the side and done right. It looked small but it packed a heavy punch.
This is a great pub for the locals and competes with a couple of other bars around (holding its own in my opinion ). Highly recommended for the food and ambience.
Beautiful place with a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend that anyone near or passing try this place. Upon walking in, it was beautifully lit with lovely decor. The staff were truly lovely and very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. The menu is wonderful and very fairly priced. Food was absolutely incredible. Every one of us (party of 6) ate every bit of food and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything was cooked to perfection. Made for a very special 50th birthday celebration. Next time I'm down in London, I'll definitely be visiting again. 10 out of 10. You will not regret popping in whether you're having a drink or a meal.
Attended a wedding here. The pub was closed to the public and the whole pub was for the wedding.
Food was great. It was put in the middle of the table so that everyone could help themselves. Those with dietary requirements had theirs brought separately which was great. Veggie option was delicious and came with its own jug of gravy.
The staff were friendly and attentive. The pub itself is a good rustic venue with a small outside area.

😌 It was the best of times, it was the wor.. 😅 well, let me explain. Clearly giving 4 stars means that I think you should definitely come here but there are caveats!
The atmosphere was warm and inviting as were the staff. In fact the staff were great, very friendly! The mains were terrific, I went for steak and chips 🥩🍟 and those with me said the pies were amazing, so all good there too.
Now, those who follow my reviews will be aware I love dessert 🍰, it's my favourite part of the meal and unfortunately, regrettably, this is where things went very wrong.
The sticky toffee pudding wasn't sticky as such (I had to scoop the toffee from around the sponge and pour it over), the apple in the apple crumble had a weird taste I really can't describe well and the crumble was grainy and not crumbly (or toasted for that matter). It the final issue was the custard. It was simultaneously thin and lumpy. Most of us didn't get through more than two spoons.
Had it not been for this, it would be an easy 5 Stars ✨.
In summary, go, enjoy the great mains but I'd skip dessert.
We had the most wonderful wedding reception at the Lordship at the end of July. Andrew was so helpful on the run up to the day offering advice on timings and the order of the day and answered all my follow-up questions immediately. Chris and the team were brilliant on the day and the staff were so friendly and welcoming and really looked after us. The pub itself is gorgeous, all being on one level with the pretty outside space too worked perfectly for us. The food (wedding feast) was amazing. I can’t thank Andrew, Chris and the team enough. Highly recommend this pub. Fantastic!
The food and wine here are fantastic - big fan of the seafood in particular. Service is always top notch. They often hold wedding receptions (I guess because the food is great!) so it's not always easy to get in. I’m hoping it’ll be easier now autumn’s arrived!
We had our wedding reception at the pub in September 2022 and we could not have asked for more from the venue and their team.
From planning and tasting pre covid, to rescheduling and through to the day, Andrew and his team could not have been more helpful, cooperative and accommodating. Andrew ensured that we achieved the best wedding reception with the most amazing canapés and sharing food platters and delicious drinks.
Setup and take down was made super easy and we can’t wait to go back and have a meal at the Lordship!
We will hold very dear memories of the place forever.

Best pub food in East Dulwich by far. Not a classic pub menu (which is great)
The langostines were a perfect start, the hake and the tuna were fresh and very tasty. The end of the meal with a white chocolate mouse was divine. Great and very friendly service, pure gem in the south-east.

I visited to attend a wedding. It's a lovely pub, great atmosphere, beautifully decorated for the wedding. Staff is so welcoming, and the outdoors are also lovely. I would definitely recommend this place for parties, for dinner, drinks and music, and for wedding receptions too. They surely know how to make everyone feel happy and how to create a whole beautiful ambience

From not visiting since this pub was The Mag 7 years ago have just returned from another superbly cooked Sunday lunch (twice in 2 weeks). Without doubt the best Sunday lunch in the surrounding areas. Last week we all had the beautifully cooked rare roast beef (actually rare which is .......rare!) accompanied by a large fluffy Yorkshire, crisp green beans and peas and carrots that still had a bit of a crunch. Covered in a very lovely gravy. Our 10 year old daughter, who is quite a fussy eater, had gravy on the side and Iggy our very friendly waitress quite happily swapped out roast potatoes for chips. A shared flavoursome, but light sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream rounded off a great Sunday lunch. A very good and extensive wine list, we opted for a bottle of the Italian house red which was light and went well with the beef. We have just returned from our second visit. Iggy immediately acknowledged our us and who said " I remember you" to our daughter "Adult sized rare roast beef" . However, this afternoon my wife wanted to try the port belly and out daughter was unsure. Our very friendly waiter, Alex, said to our daughter, "If you don't like it, we will happily swap out to beef" taking the pressure off. The good sizes pork belly was amazing, hint of fennel and pull apart, melt in your mouth meat, topped with a light and crunchy crackling (not a soggy/ hard bit in sight). To be fair we were all quite full, but managed some stilton and a dessert wine, our daughter couldn't be tempted ...to another sticky pudding (so no photo). The very friendly and professional manager Chris runs the team well and good to see new joints on the side in the open kitchen at 5pm. Only concern about booking later than we had last week would be that the quality might not be maintained, but if anything, my rare beef and everything else was even better than our lunch at 1.30 last Sunday. The Lordship have Sunday lunch nailed and will be returning soon. Keep up the good work Chris and the team, Sunday Lunch should be easy, but so many pubs fail in this area. Will continue to be a firm Sunday lunch favourite of ours. See you soon!
Had another very lovely Sunday lunch here on the 29th May. We had a lovely welcome from the manager Chris and were again expertly looked after by the excellent team Alex (who greeted us like friends) and Elise who is new and equally friendly and professional. We all opted for the roast lamb, expertly cooked, delicious and pink. Keep up the good work and see you on the 19th June for Fathers Day. No pressure!! Terence, Anouska and Phelix
