Just such a great cafe in Portobello. Lovely brunch menu, and the most gorgeous cakes including gluten free and vegan options to die for. Alexis and her friendly team and their delicious food are a wonderful addition to the great joy that is Portobello and Golborne.
I’m in this caffè almost everyday (mill hill)! The staff is absolutely amazing: friendly, smiling, polite! They always make sure that everything is perfect and if something is not, they provide immediately! One of my favorite place to relax and drink a good coffe in a nice atmosphere.
Delish.!!.lovely waitress suggested fresh berries with my healthy green breakfast choice..best decision ever..so yummy..taste buds sensation..fresh & delicious
Coming from Australia means I have super high expectations of brunch. Generally, London cafes have failed to deliver many a time but Bluebelles definitely did not! I had the Bluebelles mess and it was the best sweet brunch I've had since moving here. The coffee is pretty spectacular too!
Had the best brunch at Bluebelles portobello at the weekend that I am going back this weekend! Eggs were perfectly cooked and rosti was A-Mazing. I loved your healthy smoothies too we got 1 each :) staff were really friendly and helpful. Best brunch in London!
Best brunch in the area, I thoroughly recommend the "original stack". Plus the staff are super friendly, even when it's busy.
Nice and cosy venue on Mill Hill Broadway where you can enjoy your coffee served at the right temperature and strength - that's why it's a great everyday choice. There's also a fantastic crew - brilliant staff, very friendly and always helpful.
Oh and make sure you try some of the excellent cakes (gluten free are available as well)!
Absolut best breakfast/brunch in London!!!
Tasteful - Cosy atmosphere - Top class hot drinks - Friendly staff - Thumbs up for Bluebelles
Such delicious food and fabulous coffee. Exceptional baked goods!
the best i can say is this: 5 days in London and this was the only place that "visited" twice!! Thank you :)
Was spoiled by Hubby this morning (after long walk to Bluebell and a long walk ate the most (sumptuous breakfast) in Mill Hill, lovely staff good service the meals are super healthy.
Love this place! Tasty food and great coffee! Really nice vibe.
tasty and interesting salad and superb espresso - great addition to Mill Hill.
At last... Real baristas and coffee in Mill Hill!!!
No more burnt, multiple origin rubbish!!
Imagine! I actually hauled myself out of my lovely, snuggly, cosy little bed, the one with the soft new organic cotton linen that caresses your skin as you lie snoozing, at some unearthly hour to go and meet a friend for coffee. Okay okay, I admit that ‘unearthly hour’ for me is when most people have already been at work for at least half an hour, longer if they’re German, and ‘friend’ in this case refers to my lovely Bali Pixie Princess. If you met her, you’d know why I call her that. Bali because that’s where she’s been living for the last seven years, Pixie because of her delicate bone structure, lithe yoga honed body and mischievous twinkle, Princess, well naturally because she’s a beautiful, very special person, sort of pixie royalty, if you get my drift.
I did a spot of shopping on Portobello Road and stopped at Bluebelles Cafe for a bite. One look at the menu board and my decision was made – Portobello mushrooms and cheese on sourdough. I washed it down with a freshly made cranberry iced tea.
Confidence and consumption never left West London. But affordable rents did, and with them went a lot of independent spirit. A generation of innovators and entrepreneurs has come of age in a time when most of West London is priced beyond viability. This little quarter has always been eclectic however (and had tribes comparable to ‘hipsters’ decades before anywhere east) and is seemingly returning to the map. Pizza East is the notable pin on the map these days, but Lowry & Baker and The Crazy Baker both provide the coffee and carbs integral to resting weary feet and thus underpinning any retail stretch. And this is quite the stretch: from beautiful Ally Capellino to London's own Moroccan epicentre, via vintage interiors stores, fancy florists, galleries and high-concept hairdressers, there is
While Notting Hill Gate is mostly home to upmarket eateries and tourist traps, the Ladbroke Grove end of Portobello Market offers much more by way of independent cafes and restaurants. Think Lisboa Patisserie, Golborne Deli, or the less celebrated 4 + 1 Cafe (once a real gem, now offering a disappointingly narrower menu, but still nicer than the usual chain coffee shop). Every time I head to Golborne Road, I end up adding a new spot to my list of favourites. My latest discovery is Bluebelles of Portobello: a quirky little cafe-cum-bakery, ideal for relaxed breakfasts, brunches and light lunches.
The bait that lured me in was the spectacular cake counter, beckoning me from the street-facing window. Everything on display looked beautiful and inviting; I had a hard time resisting the white chocolate, raspberry and cardamom cake, and the carrot cake with ricotta icing. Even the treats I wasn’t drawn to had a charm I couldn’t help but notice. I may never convert to the sickly sweetness of cupcakes, but their cuteness will always amaze me – and there’s no question that rocky road bars will make the the day of children and marshmallow-loving adults alike.
There’s more to Bluebelles’s menu than just cakes. An array of morning pastries lies on the counter, offering lighter treats to those who can’t bear the thought of having dessert for breakfast (do me a favour, and try the almond croissants. You won’t regret it). Savoury food lovers will find plenty of brunch fares, including the evergreen eggs benedict. Healthy eaters will salute the presence of fresh fruit juices and tall glasses full of granola and Greek yoghurt, topped with helpings of honey or berry coulis, and coming in generous portions worth their £4. The selection of sandwiches at the counter hint that Bluebelles is a fine lunch spot for those lucky enough to work in the area, or pass by when the midday munchies start kicking in.
The decor matches the food display’s air of quirky cuteness. Bluebelles’s floor is a cosy little space where shabby chic meets hip: picture mismatched vintage tables and chairs, wooden crates turned table displays, and a few more random but perfectly fitting items, such as a tree glistening with blinking lights, and a blackboard showing the cute quote of the day. If you’re visiting on a sunny day, you can choose to sit outside: you don’t even have to fear the cold, as plenty of blankets are available to shield you from the occasional gust of wind.
Despite all this, Bluebelles is no East London Hipsterland. The clientele is varied to say the least: on an average day, you’re just as likely to meet the odd indie youth, as you are to spot well-off families worthy of lifestyle magazine covers, or middle-aged friends on morning catch-up duty. On the downside, the cafe is not spacious enough to warrant the privacy you’d need when said families with exuberant kids are in; on the upside, the taste and quality of the food make up for the high-pitched squeals and parental scoldings you may sometimes have to put up with.

The best place to visit in Portobello. I loved everything, from food to service. Food was super tasty and the best pancakes ever. Even tho was quite busy they managed everything quickly and smoothly. Thanks to Jan who was dealing with my special enquiries and made everything perfect. Really good price for the value which you receive. Highly recommended.
Welcome back! I've genuinely missed this cafe while it's been closed for refurbishment. Lovely staff and coffee is always spot on.
Bluebelles was truly a highlight of our trip to London. Staying right above it for the week made for a great start to our mornings and gave us the energy we needed to get the day going. I loved everything about this place: the staff are very friendly and inviting even for us Americans, the food was delicious as well as diverse, e.g., pancakes, eggs and toast, porridge, French toast, etc. My favorite part was the coffee. Best cup of coffee I had all week. They even put up with my complicated American coffee order and it was great every time. They also have great music playing with a wide variety of time periods but everything was a banger. Truly loved this place. Looked forward to it every morning and by the end of the week I felt like good friends with the people working there. Thank you bluebells. Everything was great. Try this place, you won’t be disappointed.
This branch was closed for refurbishment for a few months so we were happy when it reopened. The staff has always been very friendly and professional. It is so nice to have them back. It is a popular spot among locals.
A cute neighborhood spot. They’re very solid - not too expensive and decent food. Shared an avocado toast with poached eggs and the berry pancakes. Toast was great. Pancakes were a bit under cooked. Overall, good local option.
Had the most amazing treat in a cosy place! Their cakes are to die-for! So moist and tasty with a wonderful icing (a bit too sweety tho!). Tea was fragrant and warm. Would definitely come back, plus the waiter was cute and sweet 🤭
A truly exceptional meal, and one I cannot recommend highly enough. The rainbow toast is revelatory and so much more than the sum of its parts—unquestionably the best bite I have had in weeks. I would die for this plate. 12/10. The original stack is everything you could want in an English breakfast and more—perfectly seasoned sausage, beautifully fluffy and crisp rosti, a 10/10. And if you’re feeling saucy, the carrot cake is completely divine. We will be back!
Our last day in London we spent in this wonderful place (wish we could find it earlier). Great service, tasty and fresh food. 10/10!
Lovely and cosy spot for a warm drink. They are so friendly and welcoming and the Pink Latte is amazing :)
the most amazing unique brunch!!
Felt like we’re eating at a 5 star restaurant because of their great presentation and unique flavors!
