I highly recommend this place, very tasty food and super nice stuff :) Will come back many times for sure :)
My favorite Ramen in London. I particularly like the Vegan Tan Tan Men and The Big Boy, both delicious. One thing to know if you've never been here, the place is quite small, so there's often a queue, nothing too bad during the week, but it can be quite long during weekends, so, keep that in mind. Other than that, I love this place and totally recommend to anyone who likes a good Ramen.
This is my fav ramen place- I’ve dined at Monohon 4 times these past few months. Me and my partner was really blown away over the shoryu tonkotsu ramen on our first visit, that we came the following week to have it again. Same taste as the first time (we dined on Saturdays).
Was so impressed I even introduced my mum to ramen (a real one, not instant one) here for the first time on a Wed/Thurs. But the ramen wasn’t the same as before- the broth was too salty. I thought maybe my taste hasn’t recovered from COVID yet despite testing negative a week before but my mum also said the same (which is a shame since this wasn’t the mind-blowing ramen I wanted to introduce to her).
Weeks after I came with my partner again today (Sunday), only for my partner to comment the same thing - that the broth tastes saltier than before. The flavour profile is still there…but it’s too salty for us to finish the broth like we usually do 🥲
Also note that Abura Soba is their most popular dish… I don’t think it’s as great as their ramen.
One of the best ramens I have tried. Portions are quite generous and the ramen is incredibly tasty. You can select how hard you want the noodles and there is a good range of additions you can make (I recommend adding the softboiled egg at least). They also have soup-less ramen and vegan ramen, all very good. The venue has only tables for 2 or 3 people and one individual table for 4, meaning if you are a larger group you should plan to go somewhere else. The service is standard.
I only arrived to the city on a Sunday eve as I was walking to find a place for dinner at about 9pm, I was just so lucky to bump into this restaurant. My Ramen soup-less dish was delicious and the portion was quite large. It was served quickly and the chef and waiters were so nice! I would love to try all the dishes!
Really delicious ramen, almost everything was wonderfully made and the flavours were incredibly rich. We got the shoyu tonkotsu and the creamy tonkotsu, both of which were fantastic. The latter was a little too rich for my liking but I did enjoy the roe added as a topping, complementing the creaminess of the broth well. Really good value for incredible ramen which is hard to come by in the city.
I would recommend coming early or queueing earlier than you are planning to eat as the place is fairly popular and you will definitely need to wait for groups larger than 2 people.
Monohon Raman is almost like taking a moment in Tokyo. Very simple menu, very good food, very fast service. I thoroughly enjoyed the dishes and they had my favorite sake - nigiri!
A little gem on Old Street serving amazing ramen dishes as authentic as you’d experience in Japan. Hugely popular. Managed to finally time it well to walk in for lunch. Was not disappointed. Would happily queue if needed for a future visit to try more of the little but creative menu.
Really good authentic ramen! There was a bit of a queue (5-10 minutes) when we went around 6 pm, but the wait is worth it. Had the shouyu tonkotsu and it was comparable to the ramen in Tokyo. Also excellent service. The drinks are a bit expensive but the food is reasonably priced for the quality. The only ding is that because of the popularity, there isn't as much of a chance to sit and talk after finishing with the meal. Overall, very enjoyable and I will have to go here again!
Simply the best ramen you can have in the UK/Europe hands down! There's always a line as theu don't takr bookings but it moves quick and everyone is served very fast. Make sure to try the ice cold beer (pint only), it's a must!
This place was SO good!!!
We had the Taiwan maze soba and they were incredible, so flavourful with a bold taste of katsuo powder. Probably the best “soup-less ramen” in London.
They don’t take reservations and ~10people were already waiting when we arrived but we only waited for 15min. On top of this, the food came very quickly.
Couldn’t recommend this place more, definitely worth it!
Yummy ramen to warm up the belly on a cooler London evening.
We were a group of four who arrived at 6:15pm, they wouldn’t sit us down until the entire party arrived but we didn’t have to wait long to be seated.
We ordered the Shoyu tonkotsu, spicy tonkotsu and chilli miso all in large portions.
It was delicious but I wish the tonkotsu was slightly more porky?
The place had a line outside so we were politely asked to leave, and they had a efficient paying system where you could pay for your meal by scanning the Qr code.
Totally recommend :)
So good! The soup base is so flavourful and rich but not overly that you feel queasy. It’s had the perfect balance 🎉
Best ramen spot in London. I recommend getting a pint of the Asahi, served in a massive and chilled pint glass - the other beers are bottled so not a fan.
We ordered the large ramen bowls which were only a few pounds more expensive but were much bigger than the regular
The soupy and dry ramen were equally good !
The staff were friendly and the ambiance was quaint and comfortable. There’s generally always a line that extends outside the store so be prepared to wait
Best ramen in London so far. The broth was heavenly and one can taste the effort the chef put into it. Even Japanese friends recommended it for its authenticity so you can’t go wrong with this.
My first visit was 4 years ago, where I had the big boy special and thought it was the best ramen I had in London. Revisited today and had different options and wasn't disappointed. Definitely recommended.
A cost restaurant that serves good ramen for a fair price. My friend and I really enjoyed our noodles and had a good time. Staff was very friendly too. I will suggest get there a bit early as there seems to have a queue regularly.
Ramen was pretty good (although I don’t think my favourite in London - I prefer Ippudo, I think their broth is tastier).
Service was extremely quick. Place is very small and pokey but it’s fine for a quick meal.
The ‘10% optional service charge’ is not optional because there is no way to remove it from the bill while paying.
The food here is incredible.
Even if there is a line, it moves fast and is well worth the wait. We went twice just so we could have the vegan ramen (we added egg) again. The broth will rock your world. It’s rich and creamy with such a full flavor. The service is friendly. Cannot recommend this more!
