The place where 20 inch large size pizza is served. It offers two different kind of toppings to add on. The place doesn't offer any chicken pizza or toppings.
Excellent restaurant!! Really loved the various unusual combinations for pizzas, which were delicious. Great place to split the famous gigantic pizzas with friends.
Pizza is one of my things, I love it when it is good. I am not a Dominos or Pizza Hut type of gal because they taste awful with their dodgy tasting tomato sauce, congealed cheese, recently defrosted toppings and basically, the fakest damn pizza you will ever get. I guess if your tastebuds are not that refined, or it’s one of those drunkun ‘its the only thing that’s open’ late night jobbys, you may be able to overlook this.
Me, I cannot. What also aggrieves me is when you find that great place and the service let’s it down. Let’s start with the ones I like. George & Vulture pub in Hoxton, Pizza Pilgrum and Amici Miei, the latter being the one which truly upset me a couple of months ago. Deliveroo, do not show their deliveries love at the best of time, but put toppings on a pizza which are too soft and mushy, then what do you get? A pizza which has swayed aggressively on the back of a bike will all the toppings having landed squarely to the side of the box. Not a good look. When I raised this with Amici Miei, I got a rude guy trying to blame it on deliveroo. Instead of saying sorry, we will send you another one and then perhaps take up their complaint with Deliveroo. No instead it was finger pointing and rudeness to the person who is supposedly always right, the customer. Having raised the same complaint with Deliveroo, I got a sorry, we will refund and let the team know. Three sentences which appeased me with no delay or discussion.
Homeslice is a newish addition to Shoredith with its minimalist design, one side sit in and the other takeaway counter. It is a non fussy spot with decent priced pizza and super dupa fast service. The pizza is big and good. You can do a full flow on one or shake things up with a 50% 50%. We went for a split of salami, rocket and parmesan on one side, with mushroom, ricotta, pumpkin seed and chilli on the other. One word, lush.
Super tasty and now it’s on Deliveroo, it may well pip Amici Miei to the post until I forget about their rudeness. Nice, thin, stretched and long. Not too mush sauce and just enough cheese. A decent amount of toppings too. All in all, they give good pizza. As you would expect in Shoreditch, the service is quite chilled and informal.
I loved it, I will be back.
A great, un-fussy, simple menu. The mushroom and ricotta pizza was all I could make space for and it was delicious and loaded with toppings. Fairly expensive but an overall good pizza experience for a late weekend night in Shoreditch.
Went there with a group of friends for a chilled evening. Place has a good vibe, with friendly waiters and waitresses, and I recommend the lower level as it keeps things morr intimate. One thing has had to be said right off the bat: the pizzas are enormous. 5 of us struggled to eat the 3 pizzas we ordered. But it was a tasty struggle indeed. I would suggest trying half-and-half, as a way to try the different toppings they offer. The dough is really good, thin, not too crispy, and with some olive oil just hits the right notes. I had beer so I cannot attest for the cocktails there, but both the lager and the pale ale were good, the lager being better. Service was good but on a Saturday night it can get crowded and busy so expect maybe some 15/20 for pizza to get ready. It's well worth the wait.
As a big pizza fan, and having tried my fair amount of pizza in East London, I can say that Homeslice is definitely one of the bet, if not the best. The flavours available are unique, the service is friendly, efficient and relaxed even when it gets super busy (you might have to wait a while on weekends). Downstairs they also have a cocktail bar and make great Kiwi Margeritas :)
I have wanted to go to Homeslice for some time now, after seeing the size of huge slices from fellow bloggers on Instagram. This week, a last minute impromptu dinner date landed me here and I honestly cannot believe I haven’t been before.
Stepping inside you’re greeted by a burning furnace of fire, their massive wood-fired oven. Stupidly, we decided to sit at the bar right in front of this beast. Two cold pints of beer were ordered to try and stop my face from reflecting a pizza slice and melting on the bar.
The menu offers a range of different pizza toppings, and you can order three of the pizzas by slice for £4. A whole pizza will set you back £20, but trust me when you see the size of these bad boys you’ll realise the price is reasonable. A whole pizza is big enough to share between two people and you can choose two toppings and do half and half.
Normally I’m a big peperoni fan, they do have a salami option and it did look pretty tasty. However, I was feeling daring, so opted for something a little different. We went for half and half and had the aubergine, cauliflower cheese, spinach and harissa and oxtail, watercress, horseradish and sorrel cream toppings.
Aubergine and cauliflower cheese had a delicious sauce, cheesy and creamy. If you like a good savoury mouthful this is the one for you. The aubergine gave an added texture with the harissa giving a smoky, yet subtle kick.
The oxtail had a lovely tomato base and the meat itself gave a nice depth of flavour to each bite. I’m not a fan of horseradish, so wasn’t sure what it would taste like with sorrel as a cream. It was extremely good and not overpowering and cleansing to the palate.
The pizza here is colossal! Each slice was bigger than my head, the dough was salty, but in a really good way, not too much. The fact that they sell by the slice is a great idea. If I was drunk and fortunate enough to stumble across Homeslice, I’d be a very happy drunk person. I think this is possibly the best pizza in London. Anyone in disagreement, please feel free to contact me.
Homeslice has a buzzy and good vibe about the place, but very chilled and relaxed. It is a great place to hang out with friends, sup some beer and demolish pizza. The waiting team were all extremely friendly and it’s cool to be able to watch your pizza get made right in front of you.
If you like pizza, lots of pizza, then you need to get your teenage mutant turtle bums down here!
Good thin crust pizza. We tried to attend the first night of their packed soft launch but didn't feel like the half hour wait for a table and got some slices to take home instead. Incidentally they are running their soft launch until December 4 2015. So its 50% off food for both eat in and take away today.
We had a few slices of the margherita and a few of the salami+rocket+parmesan. We didn't manage to try the more novel toppings because they only offer their most popular pizzas by the slice. The classics we did get tasted authentically Neapolitan especially due to the restrained used of cheese. Tomato sauce was very light and fresh with no hint of tinned puree or dried herbs.
I liked the crust, with its little charred patches. My companion complained that the crust was a little tough and chewy despite being very thin. Quality of the salami and parmesan toppings was excellent.
Does it displace my cheap local favorite pizza (Olive on Hoxton St)? Yes, on occasions when I want really high quality charcuterie on my pizza. But if I just want a simple margherita or some anchovies I might still prefer the crisper crust and lower price at Olive.
We enjoyed a half and half pizza. The great thing about this location is it has a vegan menu option. Pizzas are full of flavour, with a very thin base.
AMAZING pizza! Thin and crispy base with tasty toppings. Pizzas are huge (20in) and cost about £24. Make sure you book as it gets really busy. Service was a bit slow but we went there on a Saturday evening.
Never had such a huge pizza previously, thin and delicious. The dairy 4 cheese was so good, love the blue cheese flavour and some feta on the top. The other half spiced lamb with cabbage was also nice, although never had such kind of labour before. Also fond of the interior, simple but conveniently designed. The songs played were happen to be all from the 90th, which I loved a lot.
We absolutely LOVED the pizza here. More NY style with very interesting flavour combos. We did half half and tried the mushroom & pumpkin one. While we usually love our salami pizzas, the mushroom was one by far one of the best slices we've ever had - I get cravings for it still! Service was very attentive and quick. Highly recommend getting a pie between 3 people or 2 very hungry people.
This place was recommended to me by someone and though I was apprehensive about a £20 pizza, I agreed to pay a visit for a get together with friends. The place has the interiors that remind you of the past with its lights, furniture and woodwork. Friendly and efficient staff took good care of us throughout the time we were there even though the place got busy. When the pizza's finally arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by its size - it is big! You can have it by slice, half and half of two different varieties of pizza or one whole pizza of a single type. My personal favourite is the spiced lamb pizza - it was amazing, especially with a bit of chilly oil! The four cheese and cauliflower shawarma pizza's are good as well. The dough was soft and tasted yum. Cutting slices off the huge circle of yumminess was a fun activity. They can make the same pizza's vegan if required.
it's really good to order half & half pizza. and so huge! one or one and half slice would be enough for one person (mistakenly ordered whole pizza for 2 person eventually took rest away haha) . mushroom one is genuine. also some tap beer options.
Great pizzas, big size and thin crust. Don't be daunted by the size, one pizza is just right for two hungry people.
You can also select to have half and half and I recommend this since our allows you to try more of the options.
The place also has a nice shall back garden for the got summer days.
Went here on a Wednesday, lots of seating still available in the evening but would still recommend booking a table.
Service and the atmosphere of the place was chilled and relaxed. Nice place to just catch up with friends without too much overstimulation of loud music, noisy kitchen and people.
Food was tasty, got a half and half of the mushroom, ricotta and Jerusalem atrichoke, fennel pizza! For £26 and a 20 inch pizza that’s made properly I will have to say it was quite delightful when the bill came.
Interesting pizzas with good flavour! Is it a little pricy for a slice of pizza? Yes. Is it still worth trying? Also yes. The mushroom pizza is a personal favourite of mine!
The best pizza you’ll ever have, the lady manager was tops, but the head pizza chef was a nightmare, his staff were brilliant but for the sake of one photo for insta or any promotion he was a nasty piece of work. The rest of the staff were fantastic, thanks for a great night, pity he let the rest down.
