Lovely atmospheric pub in exclusive surroundings.
It's not just a Pub. It's good food. It's a great location, it's the quintessential British look and it is a hang out for South Kensington's most beautiful people. It's a pint serving, champagne oozing, crisp munching fashion statement and I LOVE IT AND LIVE IT every time I'm in London
Fabulous local pub. Went with the family on a Thursday evening and arrived early. Roaring fire. Staff found us a table but I would definitely recommend reserving. Menu as you can see was fresh and seasonal. Had mussels which were fabulous. Every dish was excellent. Well prepared and presented. Staff very attentive. Reasonably priced. My only regret is that I don’t live next door! Will return.
Have to say I came here for a Sunday Roast and it was delightful. It's a nice hidden gem, what's even better is the restaurant is at the back and away from the main bar, which is always a nice addition / surprise too.
Also would recommend walking down from Kensingston Gardens.
The Sunday roast is also an absolute must, roast beef all the way + also plenty of other options too.
Nice staff and really enjoyed the first time here.

A great offering from Greene King. The Angles Arms on Onslow Street is a great pub offering a fine range of beers, both from cask and keg. Super service from the crew and a lovely pint of beer. There is a most delightful dining area down the steps towards the back of the pub. The pub appears to have been here since c.1825. A great place for a beer.
🚇 South Kensington
🍺 £7.10 Asahi
❤️ A superb South Ken local.
.
The Anglesea Arms is nestled on a corner in a quaint street in South Kensington. It’s about an eight minute walk from South Ken Tube to get here, luckily It's far enough away from the tube and museums that few tourists ever find it.
.
This attractive Grade II listed pub blends seamlessly in to its surroundings and has stood here since 1827, I love the two Victorian gas lamps guarding the entrance to the pub.
.
The decor here is stunning and everything you want a traditional pub to be. This pub has two defined areas, the main bar is at the front, if you head down a few stairs to the left of the bar is the sumptuous candle lit dining room. There are some really beautiful features here including Georgian wall panels, etched glass, Victorian pendants and for good measure throw in a large painting of a naked lady with her thrupenny bits out.
.
The beer line up was excellent and included four cask ales and a host of premium lagers. I had a pint of Asahi which is favourite of mine, my pint was great and cost just over seven sovs which was to be expected. I arranged to meet my Daughter here for a roast dinner and a bit of a catch up. We had three courses each and we both agreed the food was outstanding. A roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings costs £19. A big shout out to the staff here, the service was first class.
.
The atmosphere was convivial, there was a nice local feel to the place, it was almost like a village pub rather than a South Ken haunt. The crowd here was full of well-to-do locals both in large groups and couples, plus the odd eccentric solo patron.
.
My Daughter and I spent a good couple of hours here and enjoyed every minute. The ambiance, the booze, the food and the service were all top notch, I couldn’t fault any part of my experience. The price point was a little over average and was worth it, we all deserve a blowout now and then.
.
@theangleseaarms was a superb visit, loved it 🍻.

Decent Sunday Roast in a traditional London pub. Beef cooked perfectly but the Yorkshire Pudding was overdone and quite crispy (check out the pic)! Service was friendly and prices were fine for London.
Went back to Anglesea Arms to have Sunday Roast since I live down the road and it was excellent! Definitely need to try the Roast Pork Pancetta (see photos) that is succulent and crispy. It comes with roasted potatoes, a delicious Yorkshire Pudding and other seasonal vegetables. Had a pint of Charlie's Choice ale which is their special. For the summer there's air-conditioning as well in the dinning area! Advice is to book in advance.
Fantastic portions with great service! They were welcoming, and efficient when I wanted to book a table. Ordered seabass, the skin was crispy & flesh succulent, it was accompanied by roasted potatoes, salad and capers. The fish & chips had a crisp batter, soft meat with proper British chips, tartare sauce and mushy peas. Wholeheartedly recommend the South Kensington Anglesea Arms! Went well with a pint of Timothy Taylors Landlord.
Very very impressed with this place. Really friendly and efficient team of people running the show. Great beers and really good food. We were a big group and they took care of us so well. Can’t wait to go back and will be recommending it highly.
Service was friendly, if a little slow, but the vibe on a lazy Sunday with locals showing up for a roast is hard to beat. Great roasts, scotch eggs and avocado fries (!) in a cozy and relaxed environment. The vegan rosy was a highlight!
We finally visited this Sunday and had honestly the best meal I’ve had in a pub/restaurant for a while. The vegetables and potatoes were made perfectly, the sauce was flavourful, mash creamy, the meat juicy and perfectly done, I was impressed. The staff is very nice as well and they have a good selection of gins, wines, and other drinks. I will definitely be coming here again.
