I was invited by a family friends to this restaurant I enjoyed it and also the food was delicious service was very quick the staffs were friendly, I recommend it
Don't think I've ever had Syrian food before. It was pretty good. The portions are massive! Maybe it's made for sharing? The mint tea they gave us at the end was really yum.
Absolutely lovely find. My husband found this restaurant after a shopping trip at Westfield and I was a little negative as the area wasn't impressive. It just took me walking in to change my mind.
ATMOSPHERE
Lovely simplistic decor with authentic peices from Damascus on the walls. I almost felt I was back in the city centre.
Amazing food, huge portions.
Waiters are friendly and make you feel you are a true regular every time.
Outstanding food with outstanding service.
Great fast and friendly service, especially since the staff were fasting for Ramadan! Vine leaves and kibbeh potato were amazing, as was lamb tagin. Fattoush salad and baba ghanouj not as good as I'd hoped, however. Would definitely return!
Excellent. Very well run, authentic Syrian restaurant. Meze here are fantastic especially makdous, arayes and kibbeh but it's all good with friendly, efficient service.
Delicious!. A friend & I stopped in here for a meal before a show this evening & we were unsure we would be seated as it was so busy but they found us a table with no more than a couple of minutes wait. The menu is extensive & mind-boggling if you don't have any idea of this type of cuisine. We eventually managed to make our selections & the very friendly & helpful waiter even advised us not to order extra coscous as the portions were large. He wasn't wrong! We ordered 2 starters & 2 mains to share & by the time we were full there was still half the food left on the table. The food was divine, piping hot with a nice amount of spice, the flavours all complimenting each other. All very reasonable at dinner for 2, including drinks coming out at Ā£21. I will definitely be returning.
Best Syrian restaurant in shepherds bush. If you're looking for a friendly family type cuisine with immaculate food then Abu zaad is the place to be. It has exotic food in which the list is endless of, and the service is very friendly and welcoming some of the best I've ever seen. I have been going there for 7 years and I still go there on my birthday every year, there's no need to change because I still haven't tasted everything on the menu!!!!
Been here twice, both times food has been great & friendly service. Love the fried halloumi starters & a couple of others cheesy starters that my friends had were lush but can't remember what they were. I went for the BBQ mixed grill thing both times because it's yummie and you get a bit of everything :)
Seen this restaurant many times, never got the time or the right person to go with. That was till mr and my friend just decided to try it last week. The service was great friendly prompt service. Since we both didn't have much a clue of the food the waiter recommended a dish which was fab. My friend loved it. Food presentation was very nice. Atmosphere was very relaxing too and the prices were very reasonable. This is our usual from here on.
Great Value for money. Super food which can be eaten inside or ordered for take away. My only complaint is that there is the occassional rude service, but the yummy food counter balances it out.
The BEST value, most amazing quality food available for miles! I've eaten my way through most of the menu's vegetarian options (there are MANY) and I can't go for more than a fortnight between visits. Fantastic fresh juices, great service & generous portions of perfect Middle-Eastern food. A hidden gem- GO!
Not sure if this is the name of the place, but it seems like the same location. Great falafel, great Turkish/style coffee with pastries.
Lovely Syrian restaurant in Shepherds Bush. A minute walk from Shepherds Bush Market and a few minutes to Westfield.
I went with my sister and we were immedistely made to feel welcome. We ordered fresh tropical juice which was tasty, refreshing and fragrant from the lychees and a standard cup of mint tea. For mains we ordered shish taouk which is chicken shish with salad and rice (you can opt for chips) it also comes with khobbez, middle eastern flat bread so you can make a wrap and an aubergene kebab. The aubergine kebab was DELICIOUS. It was mince lamb skewers with roasted aubergne cubes. The aubergine was cooked to perfection, soft and tender and no bitter tatse. The portions are HUGE. It looked as though we only managed over half. We ordered some baklawa and more mint tea to finish off. It was a Saturday afternoon and there were a few people in there from all cultures. Some getting a take away, others eating in. They also do wraps if you are looking for something more manageable. A must visit if you are around the area and want somewhere to rest your feet with enjoyable food.
UPDATE JUNE 2015.
I visited again and thr food was lovely and fresh. We got cold mezze starters of baba ganoush, abu zaad salad (rocket, small bits of halloumi and sumac) and fatoush salad. They also give yogurt dip, chili sauce, olives and khobbez upon ordering. I ordered a mixed grill which came with a kofte, lamb cubes and chicken shish (rice and bread served alongside). They need to update their menu prices as mine and my eating partners menu had differing prices. Mine had Ā£9 for a mix grill, on the other menu it was Ā£10.50. Drinks had a differing price of 25p. The food was more than enough, in fact I went for lunch and could not eat flr tje rest of the day!
This is easily now one of the best generic arab/middle eastern places i've been to. This visit falls in the middle of me finding myself eating out at 3 arab restaurants 3 days in a row.
Myself and a friend came here for a pre-theater dinner. Good think we made a reservation as this place had a queue when we sat down.
The inside is really simple but the decor does house many middle eastern influences and features.
The menu as a wide range of food, from cold/warm starters, mains, grills and more.
We ordered a few starters i ordered a main. The portions are big, you get loads for your money here and Chill sauce was yum!
What i liked was the service, i ordered a Lemon and Mint blended juice it was brilliant, i asked for some sugar and i got a plate, with napkin, spoon and sugar : i liked that.
I actually ordered the wrong main, i also go for lamb shish but got lamb kebab but i got loads of kebab. Ā£3.50 for grilled chicken wings! yes please.
Great place, i'd travel from east london just for this place.

I recently dined at Abu Zad Middle Eastern Restaurant and had an exceptional experience. The ambiance was inviting, the staff was incredibly hospitable, and the food was nothing short of extraordinary. Every dish I tried was bursting with authentic flavors, a testament to both quality and quantity - the portions were generous without compromising on taste. Moreover, the unexpected treat of a complimentary dessert, generously provided by the restaurant, was a delightful and thoughtful touch. However, I must caution fellow customers to be mindful of parking due to a nearby group of individuals engaging in less-than-desirable behavior. It's advisable to park carefully and ensure the security of your vehicle. Despite this concern, the restaurant itself deserves a resounding five-star rating for its fantastic food, ample portions, top-notch service, and the gracious gesture of the complimentary dessert.
A lovely dinner with significant otherš
Food was great and good portions, service from Hamza amazing and a dessert on the house. Fantastic place, try it out of near, won't be disappointed
Really enjoyed dinner here. Had a nice selection of mezze and the kabseh as a main course, which was a giant lamb shank with a generous portion of spiced rice. Hummous shawerma was good, and the complimentary mohullabia for dessert was DELICIOUS - like a panna cotta with pistachio, rose and date syrup. Come here if you're looking for a hearty, tasty meal. This was my first taste of Damascene food, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll definitely be back.
We were positively surprised in every aspect. Friendly service, fast meals, surprise deserts and most importantly... Excellent quality food. We had a Moutabal as starter (massive! Easily for two) and delicious lamb tajin & Makloba for mains.
Cannot recommend more
I came to this restaurant based on the reviews to have Iftar two days ago, I really loved the atmosphere. The food was so fresh and delicious. It is an excellent service, especially from Nadjet, such a lovely kind lady. I highly recommend this restaurant š
We come here often. The food is yummy and substantial and good value. They provide excellent service and we have received some complimentary desserts also. I tried the moussaka today. Fresh, hot and delicious! Lots of aubergine and chickpeas in a rich sauce. I often go for the grilled baby butterflied chicken with chips. Again wholesome and delicious with zingy condiments of freshly made garlic and chilli sauces.
Decided to pop in on a whim after looking through the window and seeing it was busyā¦ thought this place must be goodā¦ and it was. Very fresh, quick and friendly service. I would definitely recommend popping in. Pictured is the mixed grill, fattoush salad and some kind of delicious dessert.
Nice food, Hummus is delicious especially with the flat warm bread! Good service, and relatively quick. Would have gave it 5 stars but just slightly disappointed with little stains on the the plates and glasses. Overall it looks like a very clean place and interesting decor. Would definitely eat from here again in the future.
Massive massive portions for good prices. We ordered far too much, and we couldnāt stop eating because it was so delicious. The sea bass was huge and cooked really nicely. The decor was quirky. We enjoyed the meal here.
Abu Zaad has been serving us delicious, wholesome, Syrian meals for many years. Food is consistently good, fresh, delish! Staff are friendly and attentive. The restaurant is cosy and in a great location. I love this place and it never lets us down š©·
Best food I've had in the UK ever !
I went there with my friends for a celebration !
I called them the day before to ask them to prepare the food .
It was half lamb , it was really very well cooked , tasty and we enjoyed it very much .
Excellent service. All the stuff are very friendly specially a young men called Hamza. He should the restaurant manager.
Lovely little place, lovely staff... I enjoyed my food. The only drawback was a customer's behavior who was sitting next to our table. Just too loud and abusive while talking to his partner on same table. Killed the mood of a good dining experience... but overall a nice experience
Food was okay, I wish it was a bit nicer! The staff were amazing and the service was great. It was just the food that was a bit average! Iām hoping itās a one off or because of a busy service as they were super nice.
Abu zaad, shepherdās Bush restaurant serves the best food ever..
Very delicious dishes, I have almost tried all of the dishes they serve and each time I get amazed by the quality.
Very generous with the food
Managers are very kind and lovely people.
āHamzaā the waiter is very friendly and professional.
I love this restaurant and it will always be my favourite place to eat in.
Very easily a 5/5. Amazing customer service, to the extent that we were given free dishes and free baklava at our departure. The server was also extremely friendly and kind. The food was delicious, and we all enjoyed our individual dishes. The flavour profiles of the dishes were extremely spot on, traditional, and authentic! Would come again!
