The food was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere was really cool. The staff was super friendly and helpful. This is definitely the best deep dish restaurant in london. We really enjoyed our experience. The price range was acceptable given the quantity and quality or food. If you're not too hungry i recommend sharing a pizza. Suitable for vegetarians and kids
Super indulgent pizza. Not quite how I remember Chicago deep dish, but very good in its own way. We had the two Classics and a Chicago all Chicago-style with parmesan crusts. They were delicious and incredibly filling, we barely managed half a pizza each, so would recommend sharing unless you’re really hungry. They do have takeaway boxes and it made a good breakfast the day after. Service was initially a bit slow, but once we ordered food was prompt and servers were very friendly. Would go again.
It is a good Chicago deep-dish pizza restaurant. Ingredients taste fresh, especially cheese and tomato sources. One missing is a tomato ketchup, which I like to have with chips.
It is hard to get a sit without booking on Fri and Sat night.
Fancied a pizza but not the normal chain restaurant type. Did a Google search in the area I was in and Japes popped up. Looked interesting so I stopped by for lunch. Good looking restaurant on Dean Street and the staff were very attentive and I was seated immediately. Louis was my server and was helpful with my questions about their pizzas. I chose a margarita deep dish and a side of chips with a cheeky Freedom Four beer (rude not to).
Great tasty pizza with a generous helping of mozzarella cheese but it was very filling. Much better taste than the famous chain type pizzas and good value overall.
Perfect stop for a lunchtime treat on a warm day in London. I’ll be back for sure.
Deep dish could taste more cheesy and less watery. Thick pizzas with crunchy crusts. Love the crusts tbh. Some yummy pizza overall, enough to satisfy your pizza craze!
Burrata starter is good. Recommend the truffle dip for that extra punch of flavours.
Veeeery cheesy pizza! Extremely delicious! We got their deep dish pizza.
Really enjoyed the taste! Great dough and filling with a ton of cheese inside.
Definitely recommend!
We got lucky to get there when it was almost empty, so there was no line and it was pretty quiet which was nice too.
Very friendly staff.
Pizza has no business being this delicious. The whole experience of visiting Japes was superb from start to finish. The website was easy to use and we could amend our reservation pretty easily. The restaurant is in a great location and well decorated. We were greeted by a really nice gentleman, Sacha, who was very considerate about our dietary requirements (halal) and told us what we could and could not order. We were later served by Louis who was absolutely delightful and extremely helpful.
We were absolutely blown away by the quality of everything from the drinks (Berry lemonade is a MUST) to the nachos. They don't have a tomato salsa but have the most incredible tomatoes in them, which more than substituted. The tomatoes were so good we asked Louis to ask the chef what kind they were.
The pizza was astonishing. We had a wicked chicken and a Margherita. Every mouthful was filled with the right amount of each ingredient and the crust was somehow both buttery and crunchy. I can only assume it was black magic. We also had two sauces, the truffle and the butter ranch which went really well with the crust.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We're already planning to come back soon.
Certainly enjoyed the meal, good pizza flavour and very nice dough. A bit smaller than I may have hoped, but still good.
Staff initially attentive, but once we’d got our food all went quiet. Nobody came to ask about the bill, there were three staff chatting and not taking any notice. I saw an online payment code on the table, used it and left with a slightly sour taste in my mouth.
I would return as the food was good.
If Chicago is too far and you want some deep dish pizza, Japes is the place to go! The decor and atmosphere was vibrant and fun. We went just before it was peak dinner time in soho and was able to quickly get seated. The deep dish pizzas are to die for! We ordered one pizza each (three of us) but we definitely couldn’t finish all of it. Would highly recommend coming with more people to try our more flavours!
Best Chicago style pizza in London! Our server was incredibly friendly and nice, service was quite quick and restaurant was beautiful. We got the buffalo pizza and mozzarella garlic bread - they were amazing! I'd recommend if you are with someone to get one pizza and share between the both of you because it's quite filling. £30 for one pizza, one starter and 2 soft drinks.
Great spot! My husband and I are big pizza fans. We love to try the local pizza scene every time we travel in the United States and internationally. We found this spot on Google and it was great all around. Wonderful service from Louie, cool interior, and the pizza was awesome! I think we actually loved the London style the best and we’ll be waiting for a Japes outpost in Washington, DC some day!
When the food came out we thought "oh it's quite small" but BOY were we wrong! It's delicious pizza, soft and crunchy at the same time, moist and full of flavour. We couldn't finish it because it was that filling! Service was good but a bit confusing cos we had about five different people looking after us so it seemed a bit chaotic. Prices reasonable but wine was expensive.
Never had a true deep dish before but this one was remarkable. The dough was fantastically made and the sauce and toppings very delicious and cheesy. It was giving very well executed vibes without being oily or fast-food like.
Service was fast and the waitress very kind. The place didn’t have much of an atmosphere, so I would suggest the take away option.
Loved the whole experience here! Came here for a catch up with friends. Nata was very helpful and the food was on another level! Having had a delicious Chicago style pizza previously, I wanted to try the London style pizza and it didn’t disappoint! So delicious! We will be back again!
Absolutely fantastic pizza! I got both the deep dish pizza & a London pizza - amazing and soo cheesy! I'd absolutely recommend their Sister Chick pizza.
They're quite busy, so be prepared for a long wait for your food to arrive, and it's not cheap, but definitely worth it.
We came to Japes this afternoon as we were in the area and I had seen them on Instagram and the looked fab. It did not disappoint! The truffle mayo is so good too. The service was fantastic, we were served by Louis and he was informative and friendly. Would definitely come back next time we're here.
Wonderful place, unusual and positive atmosphere. We enjoyed our pizzas and customer service of all of the team members but especially by Louis who was very friendly! Strongly recommend!
Tasty deep dish pizza's- the London style was preferred as there's less crust, however the Chicago style ones have mozzarella embedded in the crust and is still tasty. Definitely worth a visit
Japes brings another dimension to London’s pizza scene. The deep dish pizza was delightfully indulgent with a rich tomato sauce that was delectable. Each bite was a heavenly combination of the delicious sauce and the generous amount of cheese that blanketed the pizza. The cheese pulled and stretched with every slice, adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal. The thick crust was almost pie like and ideal for dunking in the garlic dip.
