We enjoyed the atmosphere, food and personal attention taken by this lovely family owned & operated restaurant. Everything was fresh and there were also had a gluten free alternative for most dishes. Fair prices and excellent dessert options. Loved the lemon sorbet in the lemon peel. Thank you for a lovely dinner. Travelers from Benicia, California.
Amazing restaurant! Wonderful family run with amazing gluten free options! Basically the whole menu bar two things is available in gluten free. The service is wonderful.
The most authentic family run Napolitano restaurant I've been in outside of Italy- ever! The homemade pasta is to die for & the deserts are heavenly plus the best espresso & limoncello makes this one to return to!
Had a fab meal with Anne and Pam - so great to have fab food with gluten free options (that are not secondary) - great service and a warm welcome and leaving. Grazie Mille!!! X
This spot is incredible! I searched all of London (as an American on vacation) for a great gluten-free meal and Cotto lived up to my expectations! Authentic, Italian food. The owner (or manager?) was old school - sweet and helpful. He even hugged my mom!
I had pasta con vingole.....delicious! Must go!!!
This is one of the nicest and cheapest restaurants I’ve found. Spent what seemed like hours walking round London looking at menu boards before venturing towards Lambeth, at a walk, and finding this gem. Will definitely go back when I’m down again.
Great service. Wonderful people and great care on gluten free food prep. Would return in the future
Absolutely amazing! Best gluten free food ever, I recommend it to everyone, amazing service, great food
THEE best gluten free Italian in England!
Great service. Wonderful family. Warm atmosphere. Delicious food!
I went here this evening. The food was absolutely spot on. The service was very quick and the staff were the most friendliest bunch of people I've ever come across in a restaurant. The staff were always interacting with customers, having a laugh and they just make you feel as if you've known them for a while. Definitely be back again when I come to London!!!!
Fantastic food and lots of it.
Catered very well with my dietary requirements of a gluten, wheat, dairy and nut free meal.
The staff were very friendly and I will definitely be going back
Friendly staff, and the place has a nice homely feel about it, like you're actually in Italy! I popped in on my own as I was away with work and needed an evening meal. I felt very comfortable here.
Had a lovely little meal, very friendly and welcoming would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning...
Amazing food, possibly the friendliest staff in the world and some pretty wonderful grappa to polish it off! A little taste of Italy in the heart of London
If you are close to all the main attractions of London including London Eye, Houses of Parliament, and the river, but you want a cosy place to have lunch or dinner, Cotto is the right choice for you.
Opposite Lambeth tube station and 10 minutes walking from Waterloo tube station, Cotto is a small Italian restaurant with great service and food.
My favourite dishes would be the carbonara spaghetti and definitely the risotto with chicken. Its fairly cheap for Central London, as you can spend no more than £30 for two people plus drinks.
A down side of the restaurant I should mention is that there is not an outdoor seating and all the tables are quite close to each other so you do not have much space to maneuver.
Otherwise, the manager is absolutely amazing and he always provides an extra attention and care to the customers, which therefore I always come back to Cotto.
As a family of 3/4 gluten free members, we were absolutely shocked to see over 90 percent of menu items can be made gluten free. What is most surprising that the restaurant if family owned with owner who has celiac and they make their own GF bread, pasta, tortallini, pizza dough and even cakes!!! Most incredibly of all that it was absolutely the best GF Italian food We ever tried!!! If you want to feel like you came to visit a family and have someone understand food allergies challenges then this place should be on your list to visit! I think once you do, it will not be the only time!!!
One of my favourite gluten free home made, family run places in London.
Such an amazing menu the flavour of the food is incredible. The salmon Pasta was amazing and the pizza was fantastic. We also shared home made gf bread to start which was warm and tiramusu for dessert.
Only remembered to take photos half way through eating apologies for the mess of the plates we decided to end up sharing the pizza and pasta.
Highly recommended, also highly recommend booking in advance which can be easily done through their website.
Incredible restaurant. Everything is 5/5, service, atmosphere and of course the food. I have coeliac disease and rarely ever seek out Italian cuisine (despite how much I love it) because there are never gluten free options. Cotto completely caters to coeliacs offering gluten free bread and everything on their menu can be made coeliac friendly. The service is also incredible, felt very welcomed and very well looked after. I ordered the gluten free tagliatelle seafood and Jono ordered the gluten free Ravioli - couldn’t even tell it was gluten free. Will be going back to try the pizza!
This is a coeliac dream spot! Only 2 items not made GF and they have a dedicated GF kitchen. From the moment we booked I had 100% confidence in the GF options and was not disappointed. The staff and owner are divine and the food and wine are something not to be missed. Will go again without hesitation and make sure you get the pizza!
Lovely Italian restaurant with authentic Italian home cooking. Fresh ingredients, well presented, very tasty and affordable, would definitely be returning
We walked in off the street, and they were able to seat us. Freshly cooked Italian food. We had mozzarella and cured beef, and baked aubergine for starter, and a calzone and ham and artichoke pizza for main. All food was super tasty. The waiters were attentive and pleasant. The host was nice and had a laugh and conversation with all customers. Price was reasonable. Would go again.
Visited last month with some family who highly recommended this restaurant, as they had visited previously. I absolutely loved it! They had a generous about of vegan dishes as well as plenty of gluten free ones. I ordered the vegan risotto & it was 10/10! Just wish they had a vegan dessert. The owner was lovely, and had a great energy. Left full and laughing! Would definitely go again.
A great restaurant with many gluten free options. We ate gluten free bread and gnocchi with tomato sauce and mozzarella. For dessert we took tirmiso cake that was delicious. Comfortable prices and the service was wanderful. The manger is really nice . The restaurant is right across from Lambeth North station.
Almost didn't go in here to eat because it look a little run down. So happy I did. As soon as I sat down and they gave me an olive salad I knew this place would be great. They walk around with a basket of bread to chose what you like. I had a beer, glass of wine and pasta (forgot the name), then tiramisu and a cappuccino. Everything was amazing and total bill was £37.50.
Excellent Italian restaurant, with many gluten free choices. Perfect for Celiacs. Delicious pizza, and pasta, including gf lasagna, and tortellini. The owner is Celiac and very friendly. The food was delicious!!
Very tasty food and great warm atmosphere.
Don’t miss the amazing tiramisu!!
My partner and I visited last night for his birthday and I can safely say we were absolutely blown away by the food. I had the vegan primavera with their vegan cheese (which was hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had, vegan or otherwise) and coconut ice cream which was gorgeous. My partner had the gluten free lasagne and gluten free carrot cake and was in awe of both and was still talking about how incredible it was when we got home. We couldn’t have asked for a better meal and the owner was very easy to talk to, funny and welcoming. We can’t wait for our next visit! Thank you so much to the whole team at Cotto!
I would recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner to anyone coeliac or otherwise! The the food is second to none with freshly baked GF bread and homemade desserts. Lino, his family behind the scenes and the servers made my birthday one of the best ones yet. My (non coeliac) boyfriend loves eating the gluten free pizza here and prefers it to other (gluten) alternatives. The Tiramisu was amazing too so save room! Cotto is such a rare charm I only wish I could go more often. So much care is put into making sure coeliacs are safely catered for.
the food gluten free was delicious and the owner very friendly.
Stunning family restaurant to enjoy a meal in. The food is delicious and very well priced. The staff are extremely attentive and friendly. The owner is keen to keep this family restaurant authentic and accessible to all. I'll be coming back for sure.
THIS PLACE DESERVES 100000 STARS!!
99% of the menu is gluten free and the owner is celiac! He was the sweetest Italian man who had a huge passion for food and has had celiac for 32 years. He was so sweet and made sure my meal was 100% safe for me!
I had the most delicious homemade Gnocchi Sorrentina and started with homemade fresh bread! 🍞🍅🍝 I was in heaven, best gnocchi I’ve ever had!! Then I finished with a Passion Fruit Carrot Cake! 🍰
Great Italian food, and all of the dishes are available as gluten free as well !
The staff are very kind and friendly, and the fact that they are speaking italian with one another only adds to the already very cozy italian vibe :) We arrived straight as they opened so luckily they had space for us, but the restaurant filled up quickly so I'd recommend to book a place ahead.
The restaurant is located right across from the Lambeth North underground station.

Best gluten free pizza I’ve had in two years across the ocean and here. Thanks to the delightful celiac Italian family for their delightful banter and product made with heart and soul.
The service was amazing and the food was somehow even better with everything being homemade and having the option to be gluten free and the desserts are amazing with a large variety. It was also air conditioned and the ambiance was very pleasant and homely and the owner even coming out and chatting to us.
