Have watched this unique wonderful place grow & come alive over the past couple of years it has become the best kept secret in south london. The pies are original , hearty delicious & best in london staff friendly and always accommodating. The Vault downstairs is something else a simple but classy concept & what a very special underground vibe it has especially on the weekends it comes alive after 10pm and the magic happens great djs , music and a whole lot of fun. Highly recommend You Snooze You Lose.

A place to dine on great food, and at the weekends you can end up getting a grove on on the dance floor, haven’t been there once without being greeted warmly, and even when busy the guys seem to have it all under control comfortably...

My husband, myself and cousin had dinner at Putney Pies last night and I can honestly say the pies where the best we had had in The UK. The short crust pastry was to die for so and the filling was delicious mine was Chicken, leek and Portobello mushrooms.

An unmissable unique experience-it’s not just fine dining -it’s really a complete evening out. The pies are consistently excellent -we’ve tried steak and Stilton, Shepherd’s Pie and summer salmon pies. Downstairs is the vault, a bar, a busy dance floor with some of London’s finest Djs playing irresistible and familiar dance tunes. Outside there’s even a area you can pop out for a spot of air. Plus it’s right on the river with a fine view! Perfect!

Their pies were really tasty (chicken and bacon), atmosphere was really nice and the staff were helpful when you could get their attention. Other than that, good service. Would recommend

Not your average pie shop! Looks like a bit of a "hole-in-the-wall" joint from the outside but head down to the basement level to discover a unique restaurant and bar situated in what looks like the old docks.

There's a couple of veggie pies on the menu but sadly they were sold out of the aubergine one when I went. The spiced butterbean pot pie was a pretty tasty substitute, however. I'm a bit odd and hate mashed potato so no comment there but I can testify that their hand cut chips are delicious!

They serve a great range of craft beers and ciders to accompany your meal and service is friendly. Most pies are made-to-order so wait time can be a little long but it's worth it for the quality. Recommend in general but not for a work lunch, due to the wait.

It's just a great neighborhood restaurant, with very good menu and a lovely staff. The place is full of local people in a very relaxed environment. We had three different type of pies and all of them were very good (pork, chicken and beef). The mashed potatoes was superb served with a gravy to die for. Totally recomended and I would go back any time.

What would you say if someone invited you to a free evening of Pies and Beer? Well If I’m honest for me the answer is always going to be yes, there was no way I was going to miss out on this one! With that in mind we made our way down on a wet and windy Tuesday evening ready to eat our body weights in Pie goodness. Putney Pies is a new-ish venture (unsurprisingly) in Putney and it looks like they want to put good old fashioned home style cooking back on the map. The point of the evening was simple come down, drink some beer and eat pies. With me so far? Good! Over the period of the evening the whole menu was brought out and the head chef talked us through the food. Now it is worth stating there was a lot of food and a lot of beer so I’ll try to keep it brief! Like my photo's of the evening my memory is a little fuzzy on some of the dishes. On the starter front I was really pleased to see some interesting house smoked Halibut and some really rather good Salmon as well. The por

Very nice food and the waiters and waitresses are lovely. Reasonably quick service but worth the wait for the pies. Very small and hidden however this doesn't take away from the fantastic quality of food.

We.had a craving for pies ans mash so we dropped in on a whim. We were pleasantly surprised by the patio and vaults downstairs. I had the beef borg which was delicious a d tender. My partner had the steak and ale pie which was filled to the brim with hot brisket style beef. Every plate comes out picturer perfect a s piping hot. We had the Mac and cheese balls which were very tasty I like mine with hot sauce like a weirdo. The staff and service was on point. We will definitely be back, next time with extra gravy tho.

Good vibe in here. We just came for drinks but staff were plenty and we had a nice time on the terrace. Turned into a bit of a nightclub around 11.30pm. Be great for a dance although we were old friends catching up so ducked out at this point due to how loud it got 😂🕺 Pies looked tasty, will be back to try

I’ve had my eye in this place for a while and finally had time to pop in for a pie, we sat downstairs which was a surprise, pretty sure it’s beneath the road, and Wow - it was excellent. Had the Chicken, Portobello Mushrooms & Leek Pie in Shortcrust Pastry Case - cream, onions, garlic, tarragon, and chose to have this served with hand cut triple cooked fries & gravy . £19.95 feels like a lot but if you go elsewhere and have one for a little less I guarantee it won’t be a fraction of the quality. I was delighted with this meal, and the staff serving were perfect too. (The security lady at the door during the boat race event was super polite and welcoming too!) Definitely recommend Putney Pies and for sure I’ll be back soon.

They do pies mainly and they are good. I find them a bit on the pricey side hence the 4 stars. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.

It's our second visit in a space of less than two months. We also don't live too far away. However in both visits, this place has been top drawer. The staffs are incredibly amazing. Ever smiling and so very lovely. I ordered for a traditional pie, chicken, mushrooms, leaks and something else I cannot quite remember with mushrooms and gravey, my wife ordered cottage pie in a mug and our six years old ordered a fish cakes with chips and all came out Woww 👌

I never really visit pie restaurants but after this place I'll make my effort to eat more pies. This place made excellent pies, whilst a bit expensive, it was really good. I highly recommend (the toughly pronounced) beef bouningon in short crust pasty case. The beef was so tender! The mini scotch eggs we delicious too. Unfortunately the cheesy fries felt a bit short. It was tasty for a while but the cheese felt a bit too crunchy. But I'd be down to try it again. The atmosphere there had an old tradition furnishing but the vibe was very modern with pop/modern music playing in the background. One thing that caught my eye was the painting on the wall which were able for purchasing which I liked! It seems as though they rotate which artist has their temporary art gallery.

I've normally gone to the Vault downstairs to have drinks and dance to some music but I've never tried the food during the day which I've clearly been missing out on as the food was lovely. Service top notch too, will definitely be back to try the other pies. I had the Mac cheese with pancetta, steamed broccoli, skinny fries and the shepherd's pie, a big meal.

This is actually the best shepherds pie I’ve had in London so far. The meat doesn’t have to be minced, there is no rule like that and the pie here is precisely the way I like it. No minced meat, instead chunky pieces of lamb. The scotched egg is brilliant too. I’d happy be full with just a pie but since we were sharing, combination of scotched eggs and a pie is a decent meal. Would go there again to try other pies.

Amazing pies (as you'd expect) and friendly staff. Great little hidden riverside terrace. And they are dog friendly (inside and out)

I had the smaller plate Mac n cheese for lunch. Took just over 10 mins to arrive but that is because it was freshly made. Great quality, not tried the pies yet, but I have heard other people rate them highly. Decor suits the establishment well

Putney Pies was so good I had to be rolled out! Had heard good things & was not disappointed. To start, we had the sausage roll selection & a pie selection. Both starters were handmade and delicious. For mains it had to be the Pulled Pork and the Beef Bourguignon (both came with mash & gravy although there is an option for chips instead for £1 more) accompanied by Mushy Peas and Cauliflower Cheese. All the food was great though the peas arrived a little cold. Top tips are I would recommend booking, they're a small business and often turn their tables around 2 or 3 times in the night to fit people in. I would also recommend to expect reasonable wait for food, everything is cooked beautifully and that takes a little time.

What can I say - this place does exactly what it says on the tin! They serve authentic, original, and darn tasty Pies. I have been twice now and I had the Chicken, Mushroom and Leak on the first and the Beef Bourguignon Pie the second time round. Both were delicious! There is the option of chips or creamy mash and I chose the later each time. The shortcrust pastry is perfect and the gravy is full of flavour too. My friends sampled a variation but to be honest they are all tasty. The bar also has a good selection of drinks. The service was great on both occasions, very polite and friendly. We didn't have reservations but were seated quickly. It is an unassuming restaurant and they have a traditional dining area upstairs, as well as a larger, more social area downstairs. I have dined in both, but I prefer the upstairs. That's perhaps only because it was a Friday night when we ate downstairs and there was a dj playing as well. I think it turns into a nightclub later one, which is perhaps why. They have larger sharing tables downstairs as well as the more traditional types, as well as a larger bar so it's definitely better suited to bigger groups

Great little place. Large beer selection and tasty pies. Perfect for an autumn lunch. Pies are a good size and very well made. Lots of different ones to choose from. You won't leave hungry. Orders take a while, but as the menu says, it's not fast food and they take a while to make.

First time trying Putney Pies. The pies were each cooked to perfection. However, almost £19 for a pie and mash did feel a little too expensive.

Excellent choice for lunch today, great food, friendly staff, in front of the High Street traffic lights from Putney Bridge into Putney. Very cosy atmosphere, and smell of homemade food! Quick service, delicious dishes (I had fishcakes and sausage roll) and affordable! Super convenient!
