I had the crispy duck salad which was really delicious, a large portion, plenty of crispy duck. We were there for lunch it wasn't overly busy, staff were really friendly. They didn't rush us. Really can't fault it.

Stumbled upon The Refinery for dinner on a Saturday night and we were so pleased there was a table available for us. Lovely menu, fantastic staff and wonderful food.

Food is good, the venue is very spacious and has a large outdoor dining area. While it's great for lunches and post work drinks, on Wednesday at 10 they host parents and babies coffees and cake, with floor mats for babies to play. Genius
The ambience was good... Most of us wanted the wagyu burger but they ran out of that option.. I had cheeseburger which was good and the fries I had ordered was excellent. Whoever had ordered cheesburger were happy. But two of my colleagues had ordered tuna salad and lemon chicken and the dishes looked disappointing and they said it tasted bad.
The Refinery is actually the restaurant I have been to the most in London, as I work right in front of it and live very close by. I've had the experience of having both lunch, dinner and drinks at the Refinery and I have to say that the experience has always been good. This restaurant is usually packed every day of the week, so the service isn't always that quick - It really does depend on what hour you arrive! I highly recommend the Salt & Pepper squid with lemon mayonnaise and the Roman fries to share. I once had a fantastic steak of the day with Béarnaise sauce that was absolutely to die for! If you're around Southwark and fancy going somewhere for a drink, I also highly recommend the Refinery - It has great ambiance and an extensive cocktail menu!
I like the food and the drinks. Beware it is a loud venue with high levels of hubub. Great for after work instant atmosphere. Not for a quiet night or to talk about the boss. You'll be shouting before you know it.
I've been wanting to eat at a Drake & Morgan restaurant for a little while now, as not only are all of their restaurants so pretty and quaint but the menu is interesting and tasty looking too. I picked The Refinery for a belated birthday meal with my three oldest friends from infant school, all working in different parts of the city and finishing at different times it's a struggle to all be able to meet at a convenient time so a couple of us turned up early for a drink in bar. The Refinery has quite an extensive cocktail menu, serving a variety of different kinds of mojitos, the usual classics, some unusual favourites (check out the goldfish in a bag)… the list goes on. They also have a small section of skinny cocktails that are low on calories… perfect! The skinny porn star martini with a prosecco chaser I loved the dining room at The Refinery , with mismatched chairs, elegant candlesticks on every table, high ceilings, lots of (what looked like) reclaimed wood and a bit of a ga
A good after-work option in Southwark, easily accessible by both London Bridge as well as Waterloo.. well it will be as soon as they fix the kinks in the service.
Unarguably ignored for large periods of time, when the food finally arrives, it's nice and a good option to soothe the hunger pangs but it would have been a lot more appreciated if it had arrived a little early.
The burger was juicy and not overdone, which is hard to come by so at least they got that right.
I went there once just for starters and some wine before a night out.
The venue is huge and spacious and it is situated within the Southwark area, quite close to the river. When I was there, I ordered the Prosciutto, mint and fig crostini which was an amazing starter and I had to go for another one. The restaurant also had a great selection of coctails and discounts/deals on them.
We were so pleased with the food that we decided out left-overs had to be taken away as well. The staff was quite helpful and understanding.
I will definitely come back for a complete meal!
Great for a lite bite in the summer especially when Wimbledon is on!!

• We have been working above The Refinery for years in the iconic Blue Fin Building, just behind the Tate Modern in the heart of london’s Bankside. Finally we’ve got round to getting down there together to have a meal, rather than a swift after-work drink. The Refinery is part of the Drake and Morgan bar group, of which we’ve been to them all. All the bars have the same vibe and serve from the same menu, but all have a subtle twist with their interior design and styling. They have their own definite identity but are also very familiar… It’s a bit like how the Thai people explain the different regions of their beautiful country, ‘All same-same, but different’.
Of these, we have a couple of favourites… The Folly, we love the way they have divided up this cavernous space into separate, even intimate, areas. But it’s The Refinery that we visit most often, purely based on its location. Over the last four years or so The Refinery has been the venue for many a birthday, sneaky lunchtime drink or, more recently, leaving dos!

It's one of those places that one might think 'Oh, it looks interesting, I want to pop in next time I be passing'. The decor is well-thought through, and the caffe/bar has a retro but cosy feel to it. In summer, they have deck chairs out and plenty of outside sitting space, which is very inviting. Inside beautiful flowers arrengmemts dotted throughout the venue and faux sheepskin covers and blankets thrown over the chairs which gives it homely feel. And as always, the toilets are noce and clean woth boheminan mirrors and a coctsil recoiye on it. A lot of noce toiches that givrs this pla e thst special feel. However toilets are based on first floor so it would be difficult for someone with physical disablities to get to. Otherwise everywhere else has easy access. It a massive place that can easily host over 100 people. The service was a bit disappointing as you must order and pay at bar and one would think that they would tend to table. We had some pre-dinner nibbles and cocktails and I must say: food is average, but cocktails are great. Menu has a section of cocktails that would interest any avid cocktail drinker. I will be coming back :)
Ambience lovely and quality of food good. However disappointed with very small Avocado toast which my friend got. One small slice of sourdough with smashed avocado - just under £10 when a more fair price would be in region of £6/£7. Current portion size does not do the toast aesthetic justice due to getting lost on a big dinner plate.
Nice place, good location and good food and drinks. The outdoor area is quite nice especially when the weather is good.
The staff was also very nice and helpful. Their bites such as mini burgers and other similar snacks were very tasty.
Would definitely recommend for groups and drinks and snacks.
We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant/bar and Chris' contribution was truly outstanding. He was extremely professional and friendly, taking the time to give us the best recommendations. He confidently suggested Chicken Mushroom Pie and the taste was absolutely divine. This dish was a real surprise full of delicious flavors. He also recommended White Rioja to accompany the meal and his choice was perfect. This wine perfectly complemented the taste of our dishes. We will definitely be back and enthusiastically recommend this place with such wonderful staff like Chris on board

The Refinery Bankside offers a very welcoming environment with great cocktails and many dishes. My friend recommended it and we went there for lunch. This place made me feel incredibly comfortable right away and at no point were the servers or waiters rushing me to order. I was blown away by the presentation of the food and it was incredibly delicious!

I was searching for places to eat in the local area and this place popped up. I don’t normally leave reviews but I feel compelled as the food was absolutely exquisite, Sofia, an an exquisite waitress and total customer care, suggested as a starter the fish tortilla and as main, it was my first time to try a sea food carbonara,i do actually meet the chef Felice after lunch, while was not busy, for congratulating whit him. Then for end on an high note I choose a bonbon chocolate, may be the best dessert I’ve ever had in the area .At the end my suggest, is to come to visit the place, for un understand how great is
Our hotel was nearby, and we kept passing by this cute place, we loved the ambiance at night and their vibe and decor. We stopped by at night for desserts, and sat at the patio.. we informed the waiter inside but no one came out for like a long time.. then my husband went inside to order, things took time, but we enjoyed their patio so we didn’t mind. We had brownie with ice cream and their sticky toffee cake.. both were so good, we also got halloumi fries in case we got too sweet! We had a mint tea which was great..

As we waited for our food, we took in the ambiance of the restaurant. The décor was stylish and welcoming, with comfortable seating and tasteful accents. We sipped on our drinks and chatted, enjoying the laid-back atmosphere and the anticipation of the meal to come.
When our food arrived, we were blown away by the presentation. The beef was cooked to perfection and accompanied by an array of flavourful vegetables and crispy roast potatoes.
Throughout our time at the restaurant, the staff were attentive and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal to the fullest.
Overall, our experience at The Refinery was nothing short of excellent. From the delicious food to the inviting atmosphere and attentive service, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!
We use to drink here regularly as our office was nearby. Last Friday we came and was happy to get a nice seat in the window. However we did sit a bit too close to the door so each time it opened I felt a bit chilly. I was too hungry to move to another table down the back. So if it’s cold outside try and get a table more further in. In summer nice and shady and cool inside or you can catch some sun rays outside. Food generally burgers etc, they have really extensive wine lists and their drinks are cool too! We shared chicken kofta and some chips and a bottle of Malbec was £27 if I remember correctly! Always has a nice vibe and staff friendly, was going to give 5 star but held back due to us having to order at the bar. As there weren’t enough staff to cover the busy Friday night and we didn’t want to stress them out. So we ordered at the bar and this was much quicker than waiting for someone to take our order. Still love it and will return by summer, thanks to all staff involved!
Went there after seeing the play at Shakespeare’s Globe around 5 pm on Saturday. It’s a great place for lunch/dinner or drinks if you want to step away from the crowds (just 5 min walk from the south bank). Lovely interior design and very reasonably priced food and drinks.
The restaurant was across from our hotel and after being ignored for 20 min at the hotel restaurant, we walked over to the Refinery. Wonderful service from the hostess to the manager to the server! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming and above all else the food was delicious! We had fish and chips, beef rump and a burger.
It was very reasonably priced as well. We were sorry we didn’t discover it sooner!
