My friend invited me for my birthday to the harrods tea rooms for afternoon tea and it was lovely. She is a vegan and I'm veggie and they went out of their way to offer us the best experience. From little sandwiches to pralines and scones. And you could have asked to get a refill if you wanted to. I extra. The ambience was nice with someone playing live on the piano.
I was a bit disappointed after buying this afternoon tea as a gift for my mum. I was expecting the same food quality of what you buy in Harris’s food hall, instead, it was nothing like that. The sandwiches were ok but not very tasty and the desserts nothing special quite frankly. Yes, you could have more if you wanted to and the service was impeccable, but nothing justifies the price. I was tempted to leave 3 stars but we really enjoyed the Italian pianist Giuseppe who was accompanying us throughout the whole experience. Therefore, it’s a 4, but I would not recommend.
Loved every bit of my experience from the food, the atmosphere, the comfort, the service to the pricing. For £65 per person, you will get unlimited finger sandwiches, cakes and tea plus scones with cream and jam. We took one regular and one vegan menu. Thought it was a great offering on the vegan side, they made a real effort to make it delicious.
The atmosphere is a mixture of relaxed, elegant, romantic, posh and fun. You have these huge tables, distanced from each other to give privacy. There was a piano player while we were there. The staff are professional, helpful and overly posh which makes it kinda fun.
It’s a beautiful afternoon tea, which you can downgrade to just scones and tea if you are on the go and not too hungry for £30.
I’d highly recommend this experience and thought it was actually decent value given everything you get for that price and the fact you are after all having afternoon tea in Harrods!
PS: this makes for a great voucher gift also
Nice atmosphere and excellent service. Sandwiches was unlimited, but it took time to arrive.
This was given as a gift, so we were not expecting any charges. However, in the end, we were presented with a bill with service charge, which amounted to the same as what you would pay for tea and sandwiches at a patisseries.
So expect service charges.
We went for cream afternoon tea And it was really lovely. I like afternoon teas and mostly because of expirience. I like atmosphere, service and live music was fantastic. Little bit pricy but it s Harrods.
A lovely Tea🌹 at Harrods Tea Room for part one of my Birthday ! Spent with my Mummy! The delicious sandwiches, cakes, treats are all followed with warm scones 🥂🧁🍾served with tea and champagne 🥂🍾in a beautiful historical part of Harrods . A pianist sets the elegant tone for a highly recommended experience. Super staff ! Lovely food ! #harrods#tea#cakes#champagne#birthday#creamtea#elegance#beauty#flowers#chic#roses#gifts#london#decor#blonde#heels#fashion#style
We had the most wonderful time! The service was impeccable - Joao, our server, was lovely. He asked about dietary restrictions right away, and always came around at the perfect time. Friendly, helpful and anticipatory service.
The tea was perfectly brewed, the champagne perfect, and I will dream about the Parmesan madeleine topped with caviar.
The server ware was as stunning as the space! It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend!
Visited here on 14 August 2023. Lovely atmosphere with nice piano music! After the disastrous experience at Fortnum & Mason, I was a little terrified of trying out here, especially as a girl prone to anxiety attacks.
But thankfully, everything went without a hitch, no misgendering coming from staff whatsoever! The sandwiches were delicious (especially the one with caviar, mmmm). Georgian Blend was a good one, and Tie Guan Yin Supreme I an Xi was another good one (need to pay £30 more for this). Supplement so extra charge, but I was going all-out anyway, so I didn't mind paying extra. This is served in the traditional Gongfu ceremony (First, small amount of tea goes below the wooden board thingy you see in the pic; and then the tea is actually served.). A little bit of green tea-ish flavour with floral touch, with a slightly sweet aftertaste – you will feel that aftertaste more as the tea brews more. Really loved that aftertaste.
Great atmosphere, great tea, great food all along, and attentive service. Recommended, along with the Royal Albert Hall afternoon tea for people who want a little more (classical) musical bent.
Excellent staff and experience, felt nice not being a peasant for a little while. And let's face it, we go to Harrods or similar places to be above the chaff.
Ahwell delicious food, friendly staff(even the security guards were very helpful and smiling...likely because I wasn't thieving things).
Come for the bottomless cakes and sandwiches, stay for tea and stay even longer for who you see in the bathroom.
Met a nice man from Miami(actor type who was visiting London for his bday (21 Oct 23). Wishing you the best my man and enjoyed the conversation while taking a pass after too much tea.
All in all, excellent place to drop a couple hundred pounds(what the British call their currency for all you peasant folk)

Very elegant surroundings. The food was delicious as was the tea. They have a wide variety of tea selections. Staff was efficient but not hovering. It was a great experience!
The food was outstanding, delicious and filling, set in an opulent surroundings and quintessentially British.
The service was mediocre but slightly below par in reflection to attentiveness.. we had to call and wait a number of times for service to be delivered to our table, the waiters although did a good job we’re slightly scares in number. When they did attend they were emphatic.
Apart from that it was a lovely experience
We went for afternoon tea and the food was just fantastic! Service was also amazing, there was a pianist playing live music, the decor and seating has a certain charm to it as well, I recommend to anyone! The only thing we struggled with is finding the place - it's a maze!
Overall good experience, though probably due to high expectations had some areas that were below par in comparison to other places we have attended.
Great customer service (explained in detail the menu, options and recommendations), live pianist was also professional (we had someone during early December who was skilled).
Scones were freshly prepared and well presented, clotted cream and jams were tasty.
The tea and coffee were well present and good. Unlimited sandwiches was great too, though did not seem freshly made like the scones were. Pastries were decent.
Nice atmosphere, though quite mixed with it being open generally for people to walk through; so felt quite strange.
Having it being a birthday gift (Virgin experience days voucher), was surprised there was also additional charges of 12.5% surcharge added. Also they do not take NHS discounts during certain periods unfortunately (was curious, so asked).
Price to value ratio did not add up, though was a good novelty experience.
Tip is to make a booking prior to visiting, though they do appear to take walk-ins.
Afternoon tea with my mom was lovely. They offered a gluten free menu with the sandwiches on gluten free bread and GF pastries. The gluten free scones were lovely. I wasn't crazy about the clotted cream but the jams were tasty.
I have no words! What an amazing birthday experience. The food was wonderful. The service was fantastic and nothing less than what would ve expected from Harrods. The atmosphere of the tea rooms truly tranquil but for me... it was the pianist- he was mesmerising and made my experience. Highly reccomended!
I am giving five starts because it's deserved but it could be better.
I can't complain about the food, service, live music or anything but for the price I would spect more luxury like a more private room or more attention to clients.
I will always remember my experience in that fourth floor at Harrods, the entrance with the doorman, stairs, ceilings and lift. Everything is awesome and inimitable. I will recommend to my friends but it needs just a little bit more improvement to reach 10/10
Lovely food, good service, but not very private as area on a thoroughfare to the toilets! We had one glass of champagne each first, then a sorbet to cleanse our palette, then sandwiches (which were replenished once) then our scones (bought out separately as warm) then our desserts. Tea was offered as we ate the sandwiches- you only get one pot each with some additional hot water. Pleasant vibe with a pianist, but ruined by being so public.
Had the normal tea stuff. You get refilled sandwiches as well. Scones were lovely. Atmosphere is excellent.
