First of all, the portions are HUGE! Share or order take away in advance if your a light eater. They cook the food in front of you and you can choose to customize your dish to whatever your liking.

A gem of a restaurant buzzing with energy. Prepare to wait long on weekends, it gets crowded here. But the home style pizzas, the floppy flatbread style garlic bread, generous breads and the cool pagers are all good fun. Slightly pricey but this is Oxford Circus so still fairly reasonable. The tiramisu was the only low point, not really a low point, just not a highlight.
The best thing about this particular restaurant is the ambience. I love this place. The pastas will keep one coming back again and again.
Perfectly located next to Oxford Circus so it's great to pop in after shopping! Pasta is amazing and their Strawberry salad is delicious. Recommend getting a salad as there is never normally a queue! It's such a great concept picking your food and seeing it made in front of you. Only downside is the often long queues when waiting for food, can be aggravating when you are tired and hungry!
Had an amazing experience at Vapiano in London. Firstly, unlike most places, its open until 11pm on a Sunday - fantastic!!
Secondly, even at 9:30/10pm on Sunday night it was absolutely full - loved the ambience!!
My husband and I ordered a fresh orange juice, Rucola Ravioli in white sauce, and the pesto con spinaci pizza...
The pizza was perfect with spinach leaves and chopped tomatoes to top it off... The pasta was delicious with a heavy garnish of cheese and rocket leaves.

Loved dining at Vapiano in London and more importantly, I loved the consistency with their international branches (same decor, ambience, gummy bears, concept etc.)

My all time favourite after a long day of shopping at Oxford Circus! Very filling! Even thought the queue for ordering is usually long, the food is worth the wait.

Espaço agradável apesar da grande quantidade de gente que procura este espaço! Adorei o conceito de terem ervas aromáticas em cada mesa para que cada um possa colocar na sua comida, se assim o entender.
Tendo em conta a afluência, considero estar bem organizado havendo um espaço para ir pedir as pastas, outro para as pizzas, outro para as saladas, etc.
A comida é bastante saborosa e os preços parecem-me ser super acessíveis tendo em conta que se trata do centro de Londres. Na primeira vez, experimentei a pizza e os raviolis de bolognese. Ambos muito bons, mas confesso que aqueles raviolis estavam qualquer coisa de especial! Na segunda vez, experimentei a típica pasta carbonara - muito boa também! Sou adepta de cozinha italiana de uma forma geral, mas arriscaria a salientar as pastas do Vapiano comparativamente às pizzas!

One of the best pastas in london. Pizzas are normal but pastas are amazing. The ambience of the place is really good and the food is cooked at live stations right in front of you...so you can choose which pasta you want , which ingredient you don't want and how much. Great place.

One of my favourite Italian restaurants. They defiantly know how to get the flavours right. If your very particular about how you like your food this is the place for you. If you like your food hot I would defiantly recommend you as for the red chilli in your pasta dish.

Unlike other chain restaurants, the great thing about Vapaino is that they make absolutely everything inhouse daily - pasta, bread, sauces and desserts - everything! With an extensive Italian menu of pizzas, pastas and salads, all made fresh right in front you and tailored exactly to your specification, this was one I had to try!

I've been here a couple of times but was introduced by a friend who recommended it since we was in the area. Food is great if your looking to carb load after a long and busy shopping trip in Oxford street.
I first went there in the afternoon so it was pretty full with fellow shoppers. We entered and was greeted by the friendly Vapianos staff who asked if we had been there before. I said I was new to the place and they went on to explain that you get a fob like card that you use to order your food. We went in to find different areas that have chefs who make the food in front of you. You have a choice of pastas, pizzas, starters and sides. So you go to the counter of your choice, mine was pasta so I had to pick my pasta and my choice of topping. I went for the brown penne pasta with pesto and I also got a drink. I then went to the starters section and ordered the bruschetta. Once your food is ready you just scan your card to record your order. After they make the food in front of you you just take your tray of food to a table and enjoy. When leaving you just go back to the front desk, hand in your card and pay.
Overall the experience was very pleasant and I enjoyed the experience.
I'm Portuguese and I went to vapiano with friends that lives in London. I just loved it. I eat chicken Alfredo that was very very spicy but very good too. If I return to London I will go back to vapiano definitely. But with a little bit less chilli

Bolognese: £7.95 | Please note that the beef is NOT halal- only the chicken is! When I went there, I was misinformed. So rather than talking about this dish which is unfortunately haram, I thought I'd talk about the other aspects. Vapiano is an amazing restaurant. It is very unconventional. Rather than the usual sit at the table, order, get served and then pay at the end, you are given a card that you use to register your order while your meal is being prepped- fancy much?! More so, you get to watch your meal being made and trust me when I say it is a fascinating experience! We had a chatty chef which was a bonus. All the staff were friendly and welcoming too! In terms of seating, I've got to say, there was a canteen type seating arrangement but a posh version if you like. The lighting was pretty dark with a table lamp on each table and personally, I think it added to the fanciness of the place. A friend of mine has tried chicken options and prawn options and has said they were absolutely delicious. I look forward to trying halal options! Baked Cheesecake: £4.00 | Now this was just superb! And it was halalable (halal+acceptable)! It is a vanilla and lemon baked cheesecake and served with fresh strawberry sauce, it was just refreshing! If you like pasta and pizza you should go to Vapiano! it's one of the best Italian food restaurant, they are a restaurant from Hamburg but they do pasta like no one!! The food here was too good! Its great how you can choose what pasta you want, and they cook for you then and there :D Even the salads are absolutely delicious! I will definitely be coming here again.
Great place for a quick, canteen style lunch - the pasta is made on the premises and the open kitchen means you see the food cooking in front of you. Not great for an evening as the accoustics are load and its stiled having to go and get in line for your food, but can't fault if you are shopping and need a refuel!
Worth a Visit!. This place is delicious. It was crowded and busy when I went, but the food made up for the crowds. On my recent trip to London I tried all the vegetarian/vegan spots and this one had the best food (although it serves meat, etc.). The fresh homemade pasta was to die for.

Good place. Went on 9/10 a Friday night early (around 5:30). Not too crowded but kept getting busier as we ate. Food was very good. The concept is a bit different having to step up and order, but overall an enjoyable experience. The fresh pasta tasted very good and we enjoyed both sauces that we had. This is not a place to go for long intimate talks as it was loud without even being jammed packed.

Tasty, Enjoyable and Relaxed. I've visited Vapiano on two consecutive weekends recently. Firstly as a couple, late saturday evening. Secondly as a large party, in the early evening.
On entering you are greeted at the door, the self-service concept is explained and each adult is given a swipe card on which to tally your spend. I was dubious at first but it actually works really well, particularly as a large party as you can settle your own bills individually or pay off more than one at once.
The fact that you can sit where you choose sets the tone and each of different areas of the contemporary designed restaurant have a different ambience. My girlfriend and I had a very relaxed and casual meal, sharing a large Piatto Antipasti to start with a bottle of wine. We sat chatting for an hour between courses - with no waiter pestering you, you can do what you like when you like.
The food is great and fresh. The fact that the pasta dishes are cooked infront of you, (with your own choice of fresh pasta variety) demonstrates the simplicity of italian cooking. And if you want your Arribiata scorchingly spicy - just let the chef know and they'll add the extra chillies there and then!
It can seem a bit hectic during busy periods but the service is efficient but if you want to avoid any queuing visit during a quieter period.
One great and novel touch is the potted Basil plant on each table. You can pick the leaves to add to your dish as a garnish to your meal as you eat. It can't get any fresher!!

Your food is made to order at one of each station whilst you watch (pasta, antipasti), or just collect them (dessert or drinks), or order and get a buzzer (Pizza). It works out perfectly. Each person gets what they want, charged to them and can edit their dish to their particular liking - no basil, no issue, no garlic, no problem. Vapiano is like an upmarket fast food pasta and pizza restaurant. They have been clever in the way that they have done their set out, which means minimum work for the staff and more work for the customer. You are given a card on entry and you use this to record your food and drink orders. It is a bit of a juggling act if you have a pasta order and a pizza order to do. I was advised by the staff to order the pizza and then go to the pasta section and order the pasta. Hopefully, by the time the pasta is cooked, then the pager for the pizza would go off indicating that the pizza is ready to pick up as well. It is a shame that you have to choose where to sit. Great place to grab dinner after work! Lively atmosphere, created mainly by the fast food/self service concept! The spinach and pesto pizza is to die for!!
Had a take away. Slightly odd concept of collecting a card at the front desk then going to a section to order your food then back to front desk to pay. It was just as it was opening so concept Works but not sure once busy as you wait at the 'section' whilst food is prepared which is great and you get choice of adding a few ingredients. But if you want to order pasta and pizza you would have to goto two different stations so would get a little annoying. Anyway back to the food. Food was good and put into an excellent take away container. Good take away cutlery provided and overall good service as well. Everyone served with a smile. I would definitely go again as a great variety of food as well. Recommend this place, especially take away.

I visited the restaurant yesterday night with two of my local friends. One of my friends came here a week before and recommended it. I was surprised at the quality and taste of the food. We had three starters, garlic bread, mozzarella and calamari. We ordered two mains, one pizza and a pasta dish. We also had two deserts, tiramisu and cheesecake. We shared all the food. Everything tasted great and was presented well. The staff was very friendly and nice to chat to. The only downside was that we were given a table next to the door which let the cold breeze in every time it was opened. Apart from that the food and service was amazing and I'll be visiting again very soon before I leave the wonderful city! I'm so glad its close by to the service apartment.
this was probably one of the most oft frequented branch of one of my favorite italian food chain.. remember one is soho southbank and the last time i ate here outside of london was in vienna... they do a fairly decent pasta and pizza with quick service.... good place for a weekday lunch.. miss it in India though
Vapiano is terrible for people that want to eat gluten- free (no gluten-free pasta option, you can't even have the salad because every dressing contains gluten) however if you're not concerned with that you will love it.
My friend ordered the carbonara pasta, I tried a little from him (it's impossible to just watch people eat when you're hungry) and it had to be the best thing in the world! If you love carbonara then go to Vapiano and get it. The price is another great thing, being very affordable (8 pounds for a big bowl).
The idea of the restaurant is great too, you get a card, you can walk to any station you want (pizza, pasta and antipasti / salad) and get your food, all scanned on the card. You pay when you want to leave at the stand next to the door.
I personally wasn't very happy with it as I couldn't eat anything, but to the luckier people out there without food allergies- go treat yourself.
This one is one of my favourite places which offers good quality food at pretty reasonable prices. The service is pretty quick and efficient with no over the top charges for it. The staff is quite warm and friendly and the place is quite hygienic as well, unlike other small fast food joints. Good for a nice, quick meal.
I find the concept of using purchase cards fascinating. on entering, you wait in the que to place your order and get your food. They don't take cash immediately and allow you to carry on to your seat to finish eating. once you are done eating, you return to the cashier and return the card where you settle your bill. Clever!!
I really liked the idea of this place and would certainly love to check out its other branches. The interiors were beautifully decorated. The service too was pretty good. We had eaten previously at this place in its other branch. Have had such a wonderful time there we could not wait to try this branch. I was really hungry when i went to this place for a quick lunch. I ordered pesto con spinaci and thankfully my server was efficient and got my order in ten minutes on my table. Service indeed was prompt and pleasing. My dish was extremely delectable- high on flavors and taste. It also was very reasonable on my pocket to my surprise.

I don't think that I acquiesce with this review. This place might be part of a chain, but it is brilliant in itself. I ordered the Scampi pasta dish, and I was stunned by the amazing taste and flavours. One of my friends had a similar dish, but it was served with spinach and it was doused in a cream sauce. There are few places around the city that can match this place for its taste, quality and the amazing value it offers for your money. The ingredients are fresh, and the atmosphere is lively. There is nothing to fault here.

If you are out shopping on Oxford Street and fancy some Italian food then try Vapiano’s.
It’s a bit different inside with a cafeteria feel and swipe cards. Upon entering each member of your party will be given a swipe card which they will use to record all of their purchases on during your dining experience. Then grab a table, there is additional seating upstairs if downstairs is full. After that you can venture to the back of the restaurant and chose what you would like to eat from the pizza, pasta or salad station. After placing your order swipe your card and then you can either watch as your food is prepared in front of you or get a buzzer to take back to the table which will alert you when your food is ready.
As well as having a cool dining experience the food is really tasty, Full of great flavours and you can even offer a couple of dishes to share between your party if you can’t decide what to have because everything looks so tasty. At the end of the meal on your way out hand over your swipe card and pay your bill.
Vapiano is a chain of Italian resturant in London . They have a self order system like shake shack and a buzzer is given after you place an order . The difference is they give you a card and you can got to different sections to order your food. It reminds you of school cafeterias.This gets a bit too annoying at times because I don't like to stand in likes and carry the food around.

Although we tend to characterize Vapiano as a really fast meal, it remains one of my absolute favorite pasta places around London. I particularly like the fact that they offer such a huge variety of meals, salads, calzones, pizzas and so many pasta options (Oh, and I love that they offer the spelt pasta option) The only thing I have to say is a little annoying with Vapiano's, especially when you're so desperately hungry, is the long queues that are necessarily involved with a cantine-type service.However, I have to say it's definitely worth the wait.
My recommendations: The Salvia with spelt fusili (really delicious) the Scampi and Spinachii with spelt spaghetti, and the Caprese Pizza.
The decor is modern yet warm and comfortable, with seating available on two levels. I really recommend this place for a really nice pasta dish!
Genius concept- you are handed a card when you first enter. you use that card at the food counters swiping after each order. When you’ve had your meal you take your card to the cashier and pay.
I’ve sampled both the pizzas and pasta here, both are excellent and prepared right before your eyes as you wait. The pasta is really delicious, home made, fresh and the portion size just right.
The location is excellent just a short walk away from oxford street;perfect to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy a relaxing meal.
The decor is lovely quite modern yet rustic and homely and those little of pots of basil are a lovely touch. The atmosphere in the restaurant is busy however and can get quite noisy.

Kudos to these guys- as the high quality Italian cuisine and great service, along with a different service experience that really works in a pleasing environment does not happen that much in chains. I just love the modular choices of pasta and pizza and every visit gets difficult when I try to decide in between : as if it is my last supper on planet earth. and you also have the salads with seafood which makes the choice all the more confusing!
The service just flows convenientlyi so you dont have to wait. There are no misunderstandings around the ingredients or what you asked for specifically- no disasters of wrong orders and tired baristas. So you can just get comfy, after you have made the hard decision among yummy dishes.
Oh, the open spaces- they dont seem to be that important but you notice that you cant hear your friend or you are stuck in a corner in some so called "cosy" venues.
The layout of a restaurant with multiple counters where you can go and order whatever you like is unique. The buzzer system is unique. Vapiano, is unique.
With a wide range of salads, pastas, and pizzas Vapiano is not a restaurant you get bored visiting. In fact, the high level of customization offered allows you to try a new dish each time. While I prefer the simple pizza margarita, my friends enjoyed a range of uniquely made pizzas with various toppings.
The restaurant is priced fairly, located just of Oxford Street, and has a fun ambience. Vapiano is a definite go back to soon restaurant.
Think of it as an upscale Italian food court where you can choose to visit the pasta, pizza or salad station. After placing your order you can watch as the chef prepares your food or go back to your table to wait until your buzzer indicates that its ready.
Affordable and rich in flavour with the perks of a fast food restaurant. There's no waiting around for your bill, just take one of their special cards to the till and be on your way back down Oxford Street.The calzone is really good.
This is great place for having lunch when one is on a busy shopping schedule in Oxford Street. It is based in a convenient location so it’s the perfect spot for even a date.
In addition, it has great Italian food, with a wide range of pasta and pizzas. Upon arrival you get buzzer and whatever you order it gets put on the buzzer. Once your food is ready the buzzer goes off and you can collect your food from the stall you ordered from. This is a very convenient and futuristic service for people who are really busy and in a hurry. When leaving you hand in your card, which shows how much you have spent.
Vapiano has two floors and large section of seating so it’s quite open spaced. I would highly recommend this place!

Whether you're looking for a shopping break or a lunch date venue, Vapiano is the perfect option for a quick affordable Italian meal. Just a corner away from Oxford St., the unique atmosphere of this place is what gets customers coming back for more.
The restaurant uses a card system whereby your order is scanned on to this card when ordering at the live kitchen, ready to pay at the till before you leave (just remember to keep the card safe!). The friendly cooks at the live kitchen are always cheerful and they do make a great effort at engaging with their customers to offer them a great experience.
The menu includes a variety of pastas, pizzas and salads. The pasta dishes are cooked right in front of you as the cook prepares your meal just the way you like it. The type of pasta, spice and toppings is all up to you! All pasta also comes with a portion of bread – how much more generous could they be?
There is plenty of seating available inside as the restaurant has two floors. However, the problem during busy lunch hours is the queuing, as the queues to order can get pretty long! There is also an option for take away for those on their lunch break, as the pasta is prepared and packed into stylish plastic containers ready to take out.
Overall the experience is much like lining up for school dinners, however much more sophisticated!
This restaurant is one of my favourite places to go to after a tiring day of shopping in Oxford Street as it offers delicious Italian food, which unlike the other restaurants is cooked right in front of you in no time. Despite having a great variety of pasta, they also have the most devouring salads, for which they allow to try the seasoning on a piece of bread before making it your choice. In addition the relaxed atmosphere in Vapiano is what makes the time spent there very enjoyable no matter whether you have come by yourself or with anyone else.
I have visited Vapiano a few times. The last one I took a friend there as it is one of my favourite places. The atmosphere is amazing,the food and customer service is at an exceptional level. One of my favourite things about the place are the cards you get upon arrival that indicate what your order. It is more simplified and innovative-it really makes the restaurant stands from the crowd. The location is absolutely comfortable-after all day long walking along Oxford street, Vapiano is the best place hidden from the traffic to have some lunch and enjoy a nice talk with your friends.

So I got back from dinner with a friend tonight and just can’t get over how much I love this Italian restaurant! It’s called ‘Vapiano’ and it’s based on a self-service style restaurant with a twist.
I’ve been there 3 times now in the space of 3 months, which is saying a lot for me seeing as I’ve been out for dinner quite a few times since moving to London, exploring and trying out different places.
I have nothing but praise for this place – it’s like they’ve got it all thought out to the tee!
You arrive and you individually get given an electronic card – kind of like a staff card or an oyster card. So whatever you personally order during your time there – whether it be a Pizza, Pasta, Salad or any drinks, it all goes on the card which you pay for as you leave the restaurant at the front desk. This particularly works so well when going in groups – no fuss about splitting bills! Thank goodness for that!
The whole experience is just amazing – well, it definitely is for me. The menu is simple but ample. You take your card to your desired food counter – different ones for different types of food, and when you order, you wave your card in front of the machine and they charge it to your card.
The thing that most impresses me about this place is how fresh it all is – they make the pizza right in front of you (if you choose to wait at the counter like I always do) but they also give you a buzzer to let you know when to come and collect your order – hence the self-service element to it. The pasta is also made on the premises. And no matter what flavour you go for – you get to choose the style of pasta you want to go with it, whether that be penne, fusilli or spaghetti! There are soo many other options!
The portion sizes are generous as well, even if you’re going for a salad. But the great thing about this place is that it is soo reasonably priced, it’s unbelievable! My huge Pesto Con Spinaci Pizza cost £6.10 plus a drink for £2.00. My whole dinner cost £8.10! That’s how much your starter can cost sometimes at other places, it’s just ridiculous! But because of the great portion sizes and fast service – getting a starter here always seems unnecessary to me.
Each table has a basil plant on it – which you are free to tear off and add to your dinner! It’s incredible! It also has a bar and bar style seating areas both upstairs and downstairs – suiting different occasions. If you choose to sit downstairs, it’s usually a little more noisier, so upstairs is usually a good bet.
And most importantly – the food is amazing. Money well spent and very happy customers. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
I'm living in London for over a year, and they do my favourite pasta. It's very very cheap, with no service charge, the quality is absolutely great. There could be a long queue, but it's always quick. The place is tidy and clean. Go there for a mid week dinner , or Saturday afternoon.
Love this place! Makes it easy to order and be served in your own time. Choose from pizza/pasta or insalata and then choose the variety you want from numerous options. I always order the spicy prawn in tomato sauce with pappardelle and haven't got bored of it yet, so only one station for me thus far but I'm sure I'll revisit for more.
The food here tastes great and it's a bonus seeing it being made right before your eyes. Prices are affordable too - I spent under £10 for my meal. The only downside would be the wait. I had to wait for 30 minutes in a queue to order my food.
One of my favourite pasta places and it never fails to disappoint! Pasta is cooked right in front of you and is done up pretty quick, so wait is never too long. Only problem is that you need to be able to find a seat and talk over the swarm of people in the restaurant! But the food is totally worth it and value for money! The bolognese is the most value for money -huge serving and absolutely tasty with butter and medium spice! Yummy!

I absolutely love this place, extra bonus that it's only 5 mins from my offices! Being a big fan of Italian food, I loved the vibe of this restaurant and the way pasta (and pizza) is made in front of you by chefs at double quick speed. The menu is split into categories of Italian classics with varying price ranges. You get to choose the type of pasta that goes in your dish and vary the ingredients to your liking as it's made. The last dish I had here was spaghetti bolognese - I can honestly not remember having better spag bog in my entire life - especially such a classic dish.
An interesting fact is that Vapiano is actually a German restaurant chain - that literally means "to enjoy an easy and relaxed life". The food is truly scrumptious here - you'll be amazed. The service is very friendly and jovial conversation is likely to take place between you and Vapiano staff as you pay for the meal at the end with the card they give you at the start, which your meal is tabbed on after ordering at the food stalls (a very efficient system indeed). Going again this Friday after work.

Great food, adorable chef, chilled atmosphere. Only problem is the queue for food can get quite big and I don't like the uncertainty of not having a table! Bit like a canteen.
The best place for pasta, I have been several times on several occasions and love it!! There pasta is very healthy and freshy made. The chefs are very friendly and cook the pasta in front of you so u know what ingredients are used to make the pasta.. would definitely recommend it.

This restaurant is located somewhere near Oxford Circus. Upon entering they give you a Vapiano card so that your order is recorded on it and you pay only at the front till when you're done eating.
To place an order for food (pizza or pasta) you need to stand in line in front of a cook who makes the pasta for you. I've been to this restaurant twice and both the times I've ordered the spaghetti carbonara. This restaurant is often quite busy and the wait can be a bit long in order to place the order and wait for your friends to finish placing their order as well. However it would be right to say that the wait is worth it because the food was really good. It tasted like authentic Italian food. We asked for some bread as well which went well with the pastas we ordered.
The only problem is you need to remember to keep the vapiano card at all times or else its a hefty 50 pound fine for losing it. This happened to one of my friends but since the person that she placed the order with remembered her, she could avoid paying the fine.
They restaurant has a really cool layout with many tables being on high chairs and the walls had really funny quotes about Italian food.
Great for a novelty. Interesting to make up your own pasta dish and have it made fresh as you watch. It was a little bit of a dash/ flight to get a table and seemed to involve sharing with others quite and it was difficult to keep your table if you went up for a different course. The food is however very good indeed and I would definitely go back.
This is an amazing Italian restaurant that prouds itself from using very natural ingredients and providing amazing food at a very reasonable price. It is so popular that it is often difficult to find available seating, but it is really worth it. They cook everything in front of you and there is a huge variety of pasta and pizza to choose from. Their salads aren't too filling though, so that could be improved. All in all, it is one of my favourite restaurants in London!
I have been frequenting this place for quite some time now and I always come back impressed with the whole experience.
I liked the unique way of ordering with the card which is used when you order your food at one of the food stations and gets swiped every time you order something.
It was lovely to see your food prepared in front of you. This self-service concept to eat fresh cooked pasta works very well for me.
A wide selection of interesting dishes from salads, pastas, pizzas and desserts.
Death by chocolate was superb.
The downside is you cannot reserve a table and have to wait in queue.
All in all, thumbs up!!
Vapiano is an amazing place if you are feeling blue because of the London weather. This place is always vibrant and bustling with people. I have been to this place three times and I have never gone back home unhappy. The portions here are very generous unlike the portions you get at other restaurant and it is very difficult to actually finish off one by yourself. The first time I had ordered a carbonara that I always stick to, but the other two times I decided to try something new and ordered a unique pasta which had chicken breast with an orange sauce and another one which was with duck breast and peanut sauce. I was very happy with my decision. This place is really great and should not be missed. The one thing that can be annoying on busy days would be the amount you have to wait in to finally order your pasta bug I guess the wait is worth it.

If you're looking for a lively yet chilled out place for dinner, Vapiano comes as the best bet! From the antipasti to the coffee at the end, the food is delicious and fresh. Its a great market place experience, to be able to watch as your pasta is tossed with the flavors of your choice!
Although its mainly self service, the chefs and other staff are friendly and willing to help. The portions aren't bite sized, and this works well, cause you can't stop eating - food is great.
Although at the Oxford circus branch (yes, I’ve been to the one at southwark as well) is more crowded and the lines are longer, the crowd and ambiance makes up for it. And yes its not only reasonable (there's a wide range of price options from 10-15 quid for a filling main dish) but there's also quite a lot of variety even for the vegetarians.
I have a mixed opinion about the deserts though.. Loved the cheesecake but didn't enjoy the tiramisu. Definitely finish in true Italian style with a nice cup of cappuccino.

My short visit to London just became 100 times more memorable when I chanced upon Vapiano after an exhausting shopping experience on Oxford Street! What is unique about this place is that they give you a card at the entrance and all the food that you order gets added to the card which you bill once you leave. This is an advantage in situations where large groups eat out and pay individually. The catch is if you card gets lost (or so you pretend), then you have to pay a very heavy fine!! A second unique system in their menu card is how they divide the items into different categories according to their prices.
Anyway, I'm so glad I chose to enter Vapiano because I had the best Italian food here. I love their red and wooden interiors, the large benches, and the ambiance in general. We had a great time relaxing, chatting away and enjoyed good food.
We first ordered a drink each. They serve Becks, Corona, Erdinger etc. We tried Becks Vier (Becks 4.0 alc vol). This apart we ordered a Piatto Antipasti which was an assorted mix of parma ham, pepperoni, vegetables, salami and cheese. Great quality, and exceptional presentation.The portions are great as well. Next we ordered a Carbonara, which was bacon and cheese primarily in an egg sauce! Oh this was exceptional. I wanted mine with extra chilies and the chef made it just right. The spaghetti looked like it had almost no sauce but the taste was exceptional. The consistency was just perfect. The bacon is finely chopped and crispy. The ingredients are of premium quality and just make the whole experience much better. My sister ordered a Scampi E Spinaci. This was a great combination. I never thought pesto and spinach would go so well. Addition of king prawns cooked to perfection was like taking the dish to a whole new level. The dash of basil made it just perfect by making it a little tangy. Overall, this too was a good pick. We didn't have place for dessert but I will surely go back to try them soon!
One disadvantage was the long queues before every counter for food, so if you are with just one other person, one waits at the table and the other at the queue which makes it slightly irritating! But I'm guessing they had to compromise somewhere when they promise great food at affordable prices, exceptional service, quality and a relaxed ambiance.
I have also tried their outlets in Dubai and Berlin and Cologne. I've had a great time at all of these places. What impresses me is how they maintain a very high standard in their quality uniformly in most outlets. Great contribution by the Germans to Italian cuisine all over the world!! We are eagerly waiting for one outlet in India very soon!

I did not Vapiano was a German chain until I read the previous review. This is definitely one of my favourite places to go in London. Quality food, reasonable prices, great service and ambiance : one really doesn't need much more than that. I generally go for the Carbonara which I absolutely adore. Unlike most other Italian restaurants in London, the servings are very generous which I always make the most of.
The best part of my Vapiano experience is undoubtedly the Death by Chocolate, or the Italian style chocolate cake. It is rich, it is dark, it is everything you want chocolate to be. I love this so much that my friends actually asked the Vapiano guys to make a birthday cake of the Death by Chocolate with which I brought in my birthday.
Londoners if you haven't been to this place yet, there is something you are definitely missing out on.

Who could've thought that Germans could cook and serve such great Italian food! Vapiano, a pioneer in the niche Fast Casual restaurant industry is a great value for money. The food is fresh, quick and economical. What else could one want? If we talk about the look of the restaurant, its contemporary with splashes of red everywhere. The seating space is across two floors and is what is known as interactive seating. Its a great place to meet new people and enjoy a good meal with them. Another good thing about Vapiano is that on entering itself you are explained the concept of ordering at the restaurant. Its a new and different take on self service which works well with people from all age groups.
I've been to Vapiano several times and each time there is something new to try from. I am personally a fan of their thin crust pizza- Mozzarella and basil. It goes back to basics and transports you right into the streets of Tuscany. Their white sauce pasta with chicken cubes is also another great pick. The sauce is not too thick and has the right consistency. Spaghetti agli olio can do with a little less olive oil (they tend to be a bit too generous) but add prawns to the dish and it gets to a whole new level. There is also a full equipped bar as soon as you enter and you could easily sip away while waiting for a place. Coming to the desserts, it has the regular tiramisus, chocolate mousses and panacotas which surprisingly turned out to be eggless much to the liking of my vegetarian friend. The only downside is the waiting time in the queue to place your order, it takes more time to place your order than it takes to make it. However it depends greatly on the day and time you go, so make sure to avoid the peak times!All in all, great experience and will definitely continue going there.

The best Pasta I’ve ever had was from Vapiano. My husband rated it so high that I couldn’t wait to try it and say “Vapiano is overrated”!

Restaurant was clean and waiters/waitresses offered great service.
We had the option to create our own menu because meals can be customized to your taste/preference.
Chefs can also be seen preparing every meal from scratch.

Decent service, came pretty quick and had delicious pizza for a reasonable price. It can be a little pricey in some areas, however it’s expected when you eat out in Central London. The restaurant was clean as we entered and definitely seemed like somewhere where I would like to come again. However, I would prefer normal waiter-to table ordering rather than having it on phones since it can cause a bit of faff especially when the app doesn’t work the way you want it to.
Absolute favourite of ours. We love the food and the fact that you can customise your pasta. We ordered a kids meal for the first time, a pizza and the pizza came in bunny shape. The pizza is quite big for a kiddies meal, it was good. I would recommend Vapiano to everyone.
I have been here quite a few times now, it has changed from queuing to get the pasta to the staff bringing the food to you. The pasta wasn’t how it was used to be, it was clamped together for me. The pizza was better. Overall, the food came quick, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere is quite chill.
Upon entering the establishment, I was greeted by a very kind girl who helped me with the best menu recommendations, detailed the ingredients, popularity of each dish, as well as offering me bread, as well as helping me place my order. It was a great experience as it was my first time coming to this restaurant. The girl made everything so much easier and fun for me (named Maria) I will definitely be back more often
I think the picture speaks for itself but the food was amazing! Especially the chicken BBQ pizza. The service was also amazing. The waiter was so nice and made us feel welcomed.
The food took longer to get to us but that’s to be expected everywhere. They had a lot of customers and the place was buzzing with people.

Favourite place for pasta! Very filling and the portion sizes are generous so come with an empty stomach! Loved how they’ve changed the queueing up system and do table service now. Highly recommend!
Always good quality at Vapiano. It won't blow you away but it's trusty and never disappoints! It's a shame they took away the watching chefs cook part!
The pasta is fresh and perfectly done. It is a convenient place to go for a quick bite. Didn't try the pizza but it looked good. I would recommend trying the place atleast once if you're looking for frehaky made yummy pasta.
Very nice amazing food they have some halal options which is good for us Muslims , can pay cash card and also pay and make the order online, lots of seating, toilets available, service is quick too but probably depends what time you go. Lots of option food drink mock tail , nice starters and dips

The food portions were bigger than expected, and arrived promptly and piping hot. Pizzas were the best I had tasted.
Only let down was the online payment which repeatedly didn't work.

Best Penne Pomodoro/Arrabiatta. I used to be a regular at this place when it was on Wardour St in Soho but it’s changed a lot since then.
We no longer order directly to the chefs, which is a shame. That was the best part of the Vapiano experience.
Nowadays orders are done online on your mobile and it’s very generic that way.
This doesn’t make the taste any less amazing though and I did enjoy my penne. The place is vast, really really huge, which means you don’t have to queue anymore and that’s good.
