I love Tooting Market and today was no exception. We decided to try Bordelaise because the menu looked interesting. The manager Jola seated us just before opening and offered wine while we waited a few minutes for the kitchen to open. Loved the selection and we had the pasta dish, the ham dish and together with fresh bread and fries we also had the beef sliders. Great food and superb service. Will definitely be back because as a food writer from South Africa covering this area for UK Commuter for the upcoming season we need to find good places to eat at reasonable pricing
This has to be by far the best steak I've eaten in London for a long time and it's incredible value for money! The bone marrow and mushroom sauces are outstanding! Not to mention the chocolate fondant I will definitely be back for more soon!
One of the best steaks I've had in ages, and as for the side dishes, yum! Great spot in Tooting Market, will definitely be going again :)
Pop in there last night and had Flat Iron Steak with mushroom sauce and dauphonoise potatoes.... Great stuff. Mushroom sauce was amazing, haven't had such a great meal in a long time. Highly recommended little place!!!
Highly recommend we had a lovely lunch here today!

The menu on offer is perfect and all perfectly executed, well presented and delicious. Side dishes were tasty and worthy every penny. I am a local and can't wait to go back.
Fantastic food, well portioned, wonderful service and atmosphere.
Absolutely love this place. A little bit of Paris in the heart of Tooting.
Fantastic food , staff and welcome , go visit you won't be disappointed
Exceptional standard of cuisine in a lovely small market restaurant... well worth a visit to this new gastronomic gem in Tooting
Visited last night. Great steak and sides. 2-4-1 Tuesdays are great. Lovely staff. Already planning my next visit!
Superb service and quality of food a true Tooting gem x
I had an excellent time in the Bordelaise resturant. Our steaks were cooked perfectly with a lovely and very tasty selection sides. The market itself still needs a bit of work but I'm sure in a few months it will a very popular market to go visit. I highly recommended it if you are ever in the Tooting area.
Great service, even better food. Very well priced.

AMAZING steak, great service and a good vibe in the market. Will be back
Very pleased to have found this delightful little french restaurant. I had a flat iron steak which was cooked to perfection. My wife also had a beautiful duck dish. For me though the steak was the highlight - not too many places truly know how to do it properly.
I would say overall probably slightly on the pricey side compared with other places in Tooting Market but ultimately not unreasonable, and worth it for the quality of food. The service was very good too
2-4-1 Tuesdays are a really good deal, especially if you want to try their cote de boeuf (£55). Even though it says it is to share between two, we found the quantity good for one person. Steaks were perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned - we ordered one medium and one medium rare.
We also enjoyed the onion soup, fries and the dauphinoise potatoes (although more garlicy than expected). We had the apple tatine for dessert, the portion was decent, but it felt extremely sweet. Good selection of wines, including dessert wines.
Friendly staff, but way too busy, the place could probably use more staff. Tables are very close to each other. Slightly disappointed that our steaks arrived first with the dauphinoise potatoes, 10 minutes later the fries and 15 minutes later the onion soup. Overall it was a good experience, but it could have been great. You should make a reservation as it gets very busy.
2 for 1 steak deal on Tuesdays! The deal includes the steak of your choosing, fries, and their signature bordelaise sauce. Fries are probably one of the best I've tasted in London - the beef dripping adds tons of flavour. Sauce and steak was also great - I asked for rare, but this was definitely closer to blue, but still very tasty.
We also had the French Onion Soup (which was too peppery for my liking), peppercorn sauce (which was actually not peppery enough) and a chocolate cake as dessert.
Service is a bit of a miss - understandable as they've recently expanded and they get extremely busy when the deal is on. They forgot about our starter and only brought it out afterwards, and the whole experience was slightly chaotic.
Overall, still excellent value for very good steak in London. Definitely a must visit in Tooting!
Fantastic medium rare tender rump steak, cooked to perfection. Beef dripping chips were out of this world. Chocolate cake was a a mud like consistency, it was ok. Service was friendly and polite, but the tables were a bit tightly packed, i could feel the back of the customers chair behind mine
This place never let me down. Since I’ve discovered it, I’ve enjoyed every single dish. Menu is not huge, but quality is extremely good. They also have amazing offers in place, 241 on steaks on Tuesday is a must! Definitely recommended.
Lovely cosy French bistro inside Tooting Market.
We went on a Wednesday to make the most of the 1kg mussels frites deal for £15. The restaurant is very small with some tables outside in the market. Ambience is nice and the service is excellent.
Food was authentically French and cooked beautifully. The beef dripping chips were to die for! Crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside. Recommend the mussels however these are steamed without a white wine / cream sauce but still delicious.
Escargot we’re plump and sizzling in garlic butter. Chicken liver parfait was creamy and rich, would be nice to accompany with a chutney. The confit duck leg was standout, skin beautifully crisp and the meat succulent. Interesting take to have in cream with peas but it worked marvellously.
Lots of bars inside Tooting market for a drink before or after with happy hour offers.
Classic French bistro with delicious steak&fries.
Chocolate&walnut cake was quite heavy, I struggled to finish it, better share it in 2 or ...go for the Tarte tatin! Currently they are also featuring roasted honey fig with creme fraiche as special dessert.
Good service in a cozy restaurant. Busy Broadway market can be a maze, this restaurant is next to Pan Asian corner (in case you get lost)
Mouthwatering 2for1 Rump steak the bread and butter absolutely delightful and the snails were creamy. Nina was a lovely waitress made us feel very welcome :) already booked for next week .
We came for the steak & fries lunch deal which was only £15 and the portion size is more than worth the money, not to mention it’s one of the best steaks we’ve ever had & we’ve tried a lot! Will most certainly be back, good service too 5⭐️
Excellent value steak dinner on Monday. Quality food and delicious wine, we went for the Cote de Rhône.
