Love going here. Close to home and lovely food and staff. Relaxed atmosphere, food always comes quick and you can tell its good quality, I love the pad Thai noodles and mango chicken!
This relatively small cafe was buzzing on Friday. I ordered spicy beef and opted to combo up with salad and bits on the side. The dish was otherwise small but perfectly flavorsome and spicy. My companion enjoyed roasted duck, it was delicious without being fat. And raw juice was lovely! They offer loyalty card where you collect stamps, 7th order is free. Although not cheap and cheerful, this Oriental fusion shop is attractive to families and young folk who live in the area in great numbers. Somewhat a hip place. Would come again!
A good branch of the chain that serves some great pan-asian food. Everything I have tried has been great, well flavoured and delicious. It's well priced too. A solid feature of the West Hampstead landscape.
Good solid pan-asian restaurant, but in my mind somewhat usurped by the new kids on the block, Toomai and Mamako.
The curry/stew type dishes are all flavoursome and good quality, but it never screams at me to come back.
The 'platter upgrade' is a great way to sample a bunch of different sides rather than just sticking to the one rice.
Cocktails... strong and good.
The dreid spiced lamb starters and main courses are lovely. Very good food and pleasant staff.
Mmmmm. Thought this place delivered easily delicious food at a quick pace and friendly service. we all enjoyed the dishes - dumling soup to curry to tofu stew. not delicate flavours but hit the spot.
I absolutely loved eating at Banana Tree and would say this is one of my favourite Indo-Chinese restaurants around. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area. There are a few of these dotted around London but you don't get a chain vibe from it at all and the prices are cheaper than a few of the local restaurants. I had the crispy chicken with mango and sweet lime sauce - taaaasty. Will be back!
Food was great, not too pricey. Service was efficient and friendly. Will come back.
Banana Tree serves specialties "Indo-Chinese", so you can taste Malaysian food, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Chinese and Thais in a simple but welcoming decor. The chain was awarded Best value restaurant chain in 2012. Food is classic (Chicken Satay) but equally simple and good.
Good food, enjoyed all of our dishes - nice place to hangout with friends. Cocktails are reasonably priced, food portions are also pretty decent. Fun and lively place, good to reserve.
Service however wasn’t at its best - they keep missing things in our order and giving us wrong items including the bill. I wasn’t fully impressed or maybe it was an off day with less people serving.
Great service, really good offer and comfortable food. Moreover prices are wallet-friendly. The restaurant provides favorable discounts and free Wi-Fi connection. I was very delighted to try these indochine specials with counted calories. Faboulous taste. Definitely recommend this place.
Amazing food ,I have been to a few of their branches but am a bit of a regular at West Hampstead - the food and service is always great point.
Also the best peanut sauce I have ever tasted

We have been here twice as food, drinks and service were really great. The food is very authentic and the waiters are super kind. We can absolutely recommend this place
Great time at Banana Tree with my family, we hadn't been for a while and it was as we remembered. We had a new waitress serve us who was lovely and gave us great recommendations on what to order and her favourites and Marina helped us getting the bill at the end. Thank you once again, we will definitely be back!
We had a very good lunch served from a lovely lady Melissa. She took care of us very well serving quickly as we asked as we were in lunch break.
Loved Melissa! She was such a great waitress and made my birthday so special. Got complimentary birthday dessert too 😁

We loved the food as always! We come to this place every couple of weeks and it’s always consistent! They’ve added some new dishes and starters to the menu too, which are great. Highly recommended!
The food was amazing and very filling, good for the price as well. The service was lovely! We had Krishna, he was fantastic, checked if the food was good and if we were enjoying ourselves, the staff overall were very friendly. We got here around 6 so it wasn't busy but definitely later it picks up but it's a great atmosphere.
I had the pleasure of dining at BananaTree Restaurant recently, and I must say that the customer service provided by our waitress, Brooke, was absolutely impeccable. From the moment we walked in, Brooke greeted us with a warm and genuine smile, making us feel welcome and valued as guests.
Throughout the course of our meal, Brooke's attentiveness and knowledge of the menu were truly commendable. She patiently answered all of our questions, offered insightful recommendations, and ensured that our dining experience was tailored to our preferences. Her seamless coordination with the kitchen staff resulted in timely and perfectly cooked dishes that left our taste buds delighted.
What stood out the most was Brooke's ability to strike a perfect balance between being attentive and giving us space to enjoy our meal and conversation. Her friendly demeanor and genuine interest in our satisfaction added an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening.
We had a very good time.. the service was to the point . All the staffs were Sp friendly. Food was delivered on time and was yummy as always. Krishna and Marina were so lovely and attentive, thanks guys. We were well taken care of by them. Love you guys

Sit in restaurant is a bit tight if you're 6ft tall and the service was a little slow (especially when ordering drinks) but the food made up for it. Will definitely be back at Banana tree. 🙂 thanks!

West Hampstead Branch - August 2023: We dined in as a family of 3 and the staff were great. Krishna looked after us well aswell the others. Krishna helped us move tables from outside to indoors happily, he was knowledgeable about the menu and what was on offer at the time. The food and drinks were reasonably priced. Place very clean & tidy. The vibe good. The staff there are very family friendly, look happy to work there & get on with each other - I guess they have a very good manager, briefed daily & trained well :) I have visited before with friends. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. Thank you for a lovely experience.
Excellent selection of cocktails and drinks, with happy hour 2 for 1 (same drink). The Piña Colada were delicious and well made.
For food, we had starter sized Laksa the tofu and the chicken ones which were hot, rich and slightly spicy. For mains we had the Blackened Monks Noodles with sweetcorn fritter balls and the Yum Yum Salad with grilled beef. All meals were delicious I would recommend!
Lost star only because the service was very slow, staff seemed to not be very attentive to their customers.
