As good as Thai Metro but with slightly more interesting menu. Again, do not expect truly spicy. The food is good and the prices are standard, not expensive.

Best pad thai I've had so far, with one portion (a pretty hefty one at that) being under 10 pounds. Siam Central is pretty close to where I study, which is great because prior to that I've been going to Borough Market for the pad thai which is not sustainable because Oyster fare adds up a LOT. But yes, the pad thai is great -- lots of veg and egg, so it's not just noodles.

Fish cakes are good too -- this place serves authentic Thai food, and nothing else. They seem to have a fair selection of stuff, but I've only really gone for the pad thai so I can't judge the other items (yet). There's upstairs and downstairs seating, so it isn't too difficult to get a table.

We went for lunch and the lunch deal is simply just so cheap. I took the chicken jungle curry, the meat looked a bit weird and it was too dry. Good lunch deal though.

Right in the centre of the in crowd's hunting ground, one finds this fab corner place, with really good food. Sit outside if you can, you will have a great time observing some Really loud people , probably called Fiona or Phillip, all making an impression on each other in nearby pubs and bars. Do not despair - the food compensates for all this. As we were not really that hungry, we skipped starters, which are supposed to be great. I had green curry with prawns, and it was fabulous ; spicy, but not overpowering, with lots of prawns and crispy weg. My companion had the mussaman curry with lamb, and was over the moon with its taste and softness of meat. There is a decent selection of wine, and the prices are really modest, you do get your money's worth, and more. Go and enjoy :)

A good little spot for a lunch in the area - the 2-course & 3-course lunch menu is quite reasonable for what you get.

Standouts are the Pad Thai and the Pineapple fried rice - which actually comes in a pineapple!

It's right near a selection of restaurants and while it's nothing spectacular, it does the job when you fancy Thai food.

Not bad. Tried it after reading the good reviews here. Had the lamb massaman curry. Tasted good, the slight sweetness of the peanuts was very nice. However, the jasmine rice at £2 was a bit expensive - it was really just ordinary rice, a bit dry too.
Overall, I guess this is good value by London standard.

We aimed for Siam Central for dinner, on recommendation of my good friend who has eaten there many times and wanted me to try EVERYthing. Happy to oblige, we started with the Siam Combo, a selection of traditional Thai starters, all of which were deliciously authentic - do ask for an extra dipping bowl though, so you can double-dip to your heart's content. The menu also features a 'tapas' menu, so if you wish you can choose starters all evening... hmm, tempting! Siam Combo Whilst we didn't quite order everything on the menu (could have...), we chose a dish from each section, each with a different meat. The star of the meal was the Massaman Lamb curry, a warming, rich curry with potatoes - yes you can take the girl out of Ireland but she still loves her spuds...

Charlotte Street in Fitzrovia, just a few minute's walk from Tottenham Court Road, and Goodge St., is one of London's secret gems. Mostly known only to folk who live, work or study locally and a haunt of celebs, should a tourist stumble upon this wonderful street, they would indeed have struck gold. Lined with many restaurants and cafés, as well as many characterful period buildings, it oozes charm and atmosphere with a wealth of choice for eating, drinking, and being cool.

Whilst we didn't quite order everything on the menu (could have...), we chose a dish from each section, each with a different meat. The star of the meal was the Massaman Lamb curry, a warming, rich curry with potatoes - yes you can take the girl out of Ireland but she still loves her spuds - with succulent pieces of lamb and a fragrant spicy sauce. Pad Thai, that benchmark for every Thai meal, was delicious and the butterfly prawns cooked to perfection. The pineapple rice was served in, what else?, half a pineapple, and was flavoursome and spicy with the sweetness of the pineapple chunks coming through. On the side, a chilli and aubergine stir fry which had sweet basil and soy beans with slithers of pork added an extra kick. And just in case that wasn't enough, we had some roti with a light chilli-infused curry sauce. Every mouthful of every dish was delicious. Ok, I'm biased as Thai is one of my very favourite cuisines, but still. Can't fault the food here.

No booking required, though we waited about five minutes to be seated. Then we got the window seat which would be perfect if you were celeb-spotting. Which we weren't. The staff were polite although the two main men could have cracked a smile - Thailand is, after all, the land of Smiles, and rightly so. If I could eat Thai food every day, I sure would smile more.

As we ventured out into the night (with enough leftover food for several days' lunch) we stumbled upon a basement cocktail bar called Bourne and Hollingsworth, definitely worth a visit for The Gatsby. Appropriately named.

Charlotte Street, I will be back.

We had a great time at this Thai place. The food was awesome and as was the service. As we were not able to choose for ourselves the water came to our rescue and suggested quite decent options which we enjoyed thoroughly. The only point which can be a little cumbersome is that there is a specified duration for which you can stay at the place but that did not affect us. The overall experience was awesome and I would love to drop by again.

This place has a very traditional mane allowing you to sample some very authentic dishes. This place has to be my absolute favorite for this cuisine. A must try would be the Pineapple fried rice, that comes in a half cut pineapple. The best bit is the generous filling in this rice. A must visit!

This place is located in an area which has a plethora of establishments just waiting to delight your tongue. Their menu is very extensive and varied. The tamarind duck is specially good. The mains are also pretty delicious. All the dishes are full of unique flavours and very innovative. This place has never disappointed me. Great service as well. I highly recommend it.

This easily makes it to my list of the top three Thai restaurants I have ever come across. I have been here two times, and both were delightful experiences. I have tried almost everything on the venue, and loved each of it. The food looks amazing- coulourful and exciting- and tastes even better. If I had to recommend one dish, I would vouch for the Tom Yum soup and Gaeng Jaree Gai. This restaurant also gives great value. It is priced like any other place, but gives a lot more in terms of food and ambiance. I definitely plan on making this my go-to destination for all Thai cuisine cravings.

The place is perfect for an enjoyable dinner and some beer on a Friday night. The ambiance is a bit cramped up, with tables close to each other. The food here is absolutely delicious and very appetizing. It is well presented and tastes perfect. The place also offers great value for money and is not heavy on the pocket.

You might want to reserve the tables in advance when visiting this restaurant given the busy turnout of 1.5 hours wait on each table. But despite initial wait for the seating ,the service is always pretty fast and up to the mark. I am a regular at this restaurant and can definitely say the Thai food here is amazing. For traditional Thai cuisine priced reasonably ,this is the place to be at.

This restaurant according to me ,though has ample space of ground floor and basement but the only the ground floor is nice, the basement with no windows is slightly claustrophobic due to the backed crowd there. But i compliment them on their efficiency in dealing with a large group like us (we were 18) .The food tasted great and was served fresh and hot.The pricing for the same was also light on the pocket. And the service was also quick.
A good deal!

Siam Central is a casual Asian fusion restaurant close to Tottenham Court Road. The restaurant is not too big and the decor is quite simple. The staff is friendly and the food is brought to you rather quickly. The food is pretty good for the portions you get and the reasonable price. I had the Pad Mee noodles, they were tasty and flavorful. My friend had the Pad Thai noodles, I will definitely order them next time I go. Siam Central is a good place to go for a casual dinner with a group of friends to enjoy some good food for a good price!

Not an overwhelmingly impressive restaurant, the setting is just okay and as is the decor. The staff however are very friendly and helpful, definitely make the meal that little bit more special. Now on to the important factor, the food, which I think is delicious. If I am 100% honest, I have had better Thai food in London. But for the price and the location, it's definitely a place I'll return to. Might I recommend you order the noodles here, they are delicious, especially the Pad Thai being my favourite.

A small Thai restaurant just a few minutes from Goodge Street Station, Siam Central makes some of the best pad thai in London. The restaurant can get quite crowded, especially during Sundays, but it’s well maintained and clean. The staff are usually pretty friendly and you don’t have to wait a long time for your food. Apart from the pad thai, other dishes to try are the spring rolls, corn cakes and curry.

The ideal place for people that love real Thai food. The restaurant is located on a corner of Charlotte Street, a five minute walk from Tottenham Court Road station. During the summer you can sit outside and observe the people walking past (without them coughing in your food as you're isolated from the crowds), and when it gets colder you can enjoy the two-story inside.

This would have to be one of the cheapest places that I went to, and enjoyed so much. The quality of the food is great, and the price shouldn’t scare you into not ordering seafood. For starters I would recommend the glazed pork ribs (full of meat) as well as the prawn satay (5 pieces which is a bit awkward to order if you’re sharing but definitely worth it). The drunken rice is very spicy (yes, VERY spicy) so remember to ask for a glass of water, and the PadThai is made to perfection, whether you have it with chicken or prawn (would recommend the chicken though). The main dishes portions are quite large, and you can be very full even without ordering the starters.
Along with your meal you should either get their great Jasmine tea, or try the house white wine which goes well with the rice or noodles. Again the price for wine is surprisingly low and you become even more surprised when you taste how good it is (very light).

Avoiding gluten is made relatively easy in this restaurant as the staff is very accommodating and they can prepare the dishes without any soy sauce, and serve them as fast as the others.

Once you try this place, you will be a returning customer.

Siam Central is a small and cosy Thai restaurant on the restaurant-filled Charlotte Street. Quite a narrow layout means tables are limited; there is basement seating, but this is very small too.

Having been here once to eat and once to takeway, I have only tried the Pad Mee noodles - had to go back because I liked them so much. Being a huge fan of noodles, I'd have to say for this price they were more than worth it. Very generous portion with what seemed to be fresh vegetables. Light flavouring and thin noodles, just how I like them.

Decor is very basic; but the menu is great! Can't wait to try the rest of the dishes too.

Very quick service - another reason I went back.

A colleague and I are self proclaimed Pad Thai connoisseur and so far have eaten Pad Thai every day for the past 5 weeks.  We have tried a good few Pad Thais in the city and our favourite is a cheap little Chinese takeaway in Fulham. Having said that we gave Siam Central's Pad Thai a 7. Its not bad but not great either, it just didn't have the spices we are used to and even the starters felt a little bland. The prices are good for its location and as our business is so close by I'm sure we'll be back when we are craving for a Pad Thai but will be looking elsewhere to find something similar to our favourite - Oriental Express.

It's always a pleasant surprise when one doesn't have to sacrifice quality for value, and Siam Central was happy to surprise me upon my visit. Set on the corner of Charlotte Street and one of its many off-shoots, the restaurant has a deceptive air of exclusivity and expense about it. The inside is luxuriously decorated with rich, dark woods and though our seat by the door braced us regularly with winter chills, the reception the staff could not have been warmer. At least, not without a hug.

The terrific lunch deal allows two courses for a mere £8, or three for a frankly slightly rattling £10. We opt for the two courses, and my dining partner starts off with a prawn and chicken toast. I must say, I have never understood the appeal of prawn toast, cumbersome and dry as it often is. It's hard to know how to review a dish you've never held any fondness for, but I shall do my best. Th slices were chunky, and looked quite impressive with their thorough coating of sesame seeds. My partner destroyed all evidence of them ever existing, but didn't make any noises that suggested maximum enjoyment had been achieved. My dumplings however, managed just that. Filled with minced prawn and chicken, and presented delightfully, they were positively demolished. Afterwards I even found the need to employ the anemic lettuce as a last-resort accompaniment to the delicious dipping sauce.

Mains were another success. Apparently on a mission to eat every last Pad Thai in London, my partner dived in excitedly. It's fair to say, from the samples I took for my own research purposes, that the nearby East Street holds claim to a superior version of the dish.

I enjoyed my drunken noodles. Quite how they had become so drunk, and which beverage they had chosen to do so with, was never made clear to me. The menu itself sheds no light. It's a shame, because the dish is quite a success. The flavours never leap at you, nor burst readily upon your tongue. Rather, they build and develop with time, and create an incredible sensation of warmth, and of homeliness. This, at least, is a rare joy in London. As such, it's hard to qualify Siam Central as anything less than a success.

I can't believe that i have forgotten to review this place, working on Charlotte Street i am spoilt for choice for lunch and Dinner after work.

I came here for lunch with a friend, they have great value 3 course menu for £10. I have had other mains from here, for purposes of this review i'll be talking about the Red Curry and the Panang Curry, both are my Thai Curry food of choice. Im a fan of well cooked Coconut based curries the Panang curry here is very good, definitely one of the better Thai curries i have tried, and much better than Thai Metro down the road.

Also, i have verbal confirmation that the Chicken and Beef are Halal so thats a win! There deserts are also lush, Banana Frits are my favs.

So if you are looking for a simple Thai place then i recommend this place, Its Idea for lunch and catch up with a small group of friends, there is a downstairs area as the restaurant looks deceptively small from the outside. Service and Staff were pleasant.

Visited this place for the 1st time last Sunday evening..from the outside the place is rather nondescript, so much so that one of my friends who had previously been here missed it and walked right past it :). Inside, the seating capacity is rather small and the tables are laid out very close to one another. Unless you want ring side seats to the chaos in the kitchen, the downstairs sitting is a complete no no... We were lucky enough to have a kind waitress who eventually found us a table upstairs (the staff seem really helpful and courteous).
For starters, the prawn and chicken dumplings and papaya salad was really nice. Equally delectable was the Thai Green chicken curry and Chicken Pad Thai. The pineapple fried rice was very well presented (I think that's true for almost all of the items).

As a bonus all the items are reasonably priced, so definitely recommended!

PS: I really wish they expand their drinks and dessert menu.

Are you looking for cheap food but with quality, then look no further. You have arrived at the right place!

The menu here is very reasonably priced, you would almost become suspicious of what you are going to be served. However I would admit that I was surprised on the upside here by the quality of food. Pineapple rice here is nice, and the red chicken curry was worth trying again.

Lastly for desserts I tried mango sorbet which again was very satisfying.

All in all, go for it!

I was recommended this restaurant by a Thai friend and was pleasantly surprised with this small restaurant hidden near tottenham court. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced.

Papaya salad and pineapple fried rice served in pineapple are my favourite and a must try.

Avoid the vegetarian starters platters as it consists of a lot of fried veggies.

Ice tea is great too. It's a shame they have stopped doing the mango pudding. They close the kitchen at 10 pm even on a weekend, so make sure you get there early ...!!

I visited Siam Central, London with 2 other guests for dinner. Thankfully, we got a table in spite of not making a reservation. They have seating at the ground and basement levels. It's a cozy place with a relaxed ambience. I had the Tequila Sunrise. Quite refreshing. I asked the staff to make it less sweet and the complied. We had the spring rolls, drunken noodles with Tofu, and the green curry with a side of egg noodles. The person taking our orders explained carefully regarding the use of fish sauce etc when it came to vegetarian vs vegan options. This was truly remarkable. On a busy evening, to take the time out to explain such finer aspects is something i really appreciated. The staff also tuned the spice/heat levels according to our liking. The food was terrific! Fresh, not too greasy and very flavourful. Every single item was great. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. I would certainly recommend Siam Central to anyone looking for good Thai food in London. Kudos to the staff and the management!

Nice and tasty place. Tried the drunken noodles with tofu. Good size portion, veggies and noodles were perfectly. However it was marked as quite spicy on the menu, but it wasn’t spicy at all, compared other places I’ve had this dish. We also had the mixed starter set. Fried chicken and springs rolls were really good, chicken satay was just okay. Prawn on toast was very dry though. Service was fast and staff were alright. Not the friendliest.

What a treat in the heart of central London! Service was good, food arrived promptly. The red duck curry was perfectly spicy and creamy. I decided to not fill up on rice, instead opting for the mango sticky rice instead. The two complimented each other perfectly and were both filling! Don't skip the mango sticky, it's hard to find this dish in London and it's one of the best, albeit a dessert in it's own right. It was quite pricey since it was just me. Total came to £19 something without a drink unfortunately

Very well located, between Goodge Street Station and Tottenham Court Road Station. Colourful, pretty, small restaurant with indoor and outdoor tables. I went there on a Tuesday afternoon, quite early, I had the booking at 6 pm. When I got in, the place had just couple of tables booked, but by the time I left (after an hour approx.) it was packed and fully booked. At first the waiter was a little distracted as we had to call him to take the order, however the place was empty he was keeping walking without giving attention to anyone. When we got his attention, we ordered drinks and food. Pad Thai with tofu was really good, with flat rice noodle. Hot Jasmine tea for the soul! While waiting for food we were checking the dessert menu and saw the Mango sticky rice, which is difficult to find in a Thai Restaurant in London. Unfortunately, by the time it was dessert time I was already full, so I will leave it for next time. Overall, enjoyed my dinner there. We got the bill and price was amazing for the quality and quantity of food. I will definitely go again, next time I will make sure to try the dessert too.
