Quintessential north London trendy coffee shop with great coffee, pretty staff, and cool decor. Music is a bit loud for my taste, but I'm maybe just old before my time at 32.

Have been getting coffee here every day for the last couple months as I'm working in the area. Love it! Being from Melbourne, I was dying to find coffee as good as what I can get back home - and these guys smash it! The staff are really lovely too! Highly recommend!

Been here often and it is great! Best cappuccino in the city and totally recommend it to everyone. Today's mistake resolution of my delayed coffee though made me write this review..when they realised their mistake, I got a full free and healthy breakfast. This is very rare customer service in the UK!

Whenever I'm longing for a Melbourne cafe vibe, I'll come here for a well made coffee and some avo on sourdough toast. You can also get it with poached eggs, which makes for a filling breakfast or brunch. Coffee is strong and made just as I would expect it back home.

I haven't tried the cocktails before, but apparently they do one of the meanest espresso martinis around.

Brunch. By farrrrrr my favourite meal of the day. Partly because it still allows you a lie in on the weekend (whilst being able to squeeze in a morning class!), partly because it's effectively two meals in one.... meaning you get to eat double as much, right?!. And let's just say London is most definitely not short on brunch options! You might have read some of my previous reviews on favourites including Leto Soho, The Mae Deli, Apero Chelsea, and The Grill Market, however I'm about to introduce a new one to the mix -  Clerkenwell Grind.

Located conveniently near the Old Street Station, Shoreditch Grind is one of my favourite go to coffee shops.

There is both indoor and outdoor seating and unless it's freezing outside the outdoor seating is perfect for a warm cuppa and conversations.

The music is good and the service is friendly which is what you'd want in a coffee shop.

My picks are the Riseretto for a caffeine fix, Mocha when I'm feeling indulgent or a Espresso Martini when I'm feeling adventurous.

If your not a coffee person they have a selection of beer some tea and 1-2 rum cocktails. I haven't tried any of the bakery stuff so no comments on the same.

Go for the Coffee and the happy hipster vibe.

Keep gobbling xx

Went to the Shoreditch Grind for a couple of drinks before dinner last Thursday. Great location just above the Old Street tube station. Very energetic place with the right kind of music - The IPAs that they served were one of the better ones that I have had for a very long time !!

Dream of an espresso martini - as to be expected! Buzzing post-work and just enough space to squeeze in with a laptop whilst waiting for a friend.

I've had a lovely brunch time with friends, sipping tea and chuffing myself with Avocado and Salmon, perfect recipe for a great saturday. The staff is friendly and efficient, highly professional, fast and focused. The food quality is high and the vibe makes you plan the next visit even before leaving. There is often a queue to order, but it is fast and you'll have barely the time to decide what you want to order.

I am not a big fan of hipster culture. This small and cute place is perfect for a quick stop right next to Old Street station whether you need to chat with your bff or just read a chapter in a book. I highly appreciate the idea that you can buy breakfast, coffee and also cocktails with variety of alcohol choices under one roof. The look from the outside will definitely grab your attention and you will not miss it.

Shoreditch Grind, the name makes sense. The Grind family includes Holborn Grind, London Grind and Soho Grind.

As with many London cafes, there has been some sort of Melbourne coffee influence. From observation, I am seeing that in a lot of south East Asian countries. Essentially students, who have worked part time as baristas and in coffee shops in Melbourne, return to their home country - to become frustrated with the local coffee scene. Having acquired such skills in Melbourne, open up cafes in hope to transfer such an appreciation for coffee, back home.

Shoreditch Grind is not so different. Budding at the lack of Melbourne coffee in London, co- founder of Shoreditch Grind Kaz worked in a boutique roastery to then create the signature Grind & Co blend. I didn’t find out the components of the blend – but upon looking back, regret not having inquired further. I ordered a latte, and it was sweet, full bodied with a bitter finish.

Upstairs from the espresso bar by day is a recording studio; cool enough Shoreditch Grind turns into a cocktail bar at night. Perhaps it’s the location of the space, but it takes on such a personality quite well. I don’t know of any Melbourne cafes that have this personality quite yet.

Trendy littke coffee shop with some morning pastries available. Lovely coffee. Needed a place to chill before work and this was the spot for 10mins till it started getting really busy. Main thing the coffee was on point.

For the throngs of Silicon Roundabout workers situated only a stones-throw from the former tube-station emergency exit, trendy coffee bar Shoreditch Grind is a popular morning fuel stop. It's a friendly and relaxed environment, with large curving windows, a terrace area outside for some summer time people watching, and a recording studio upstairs. In the evening the barristas make way for the mixologists, and the venue transforms into a cocktail bar.

Traipsing across the city from the ‘cool kids side’ in Shoreditch are the peeps from Shoreditch Grind. I think they’ve found that it’s just as Grind-y in Soho. This is a quaint space with extra seating downstairs. I suspect they’ll give Fernandez and Wells a friendly nudge having set themselves up on Beak Street – the home of the original F+W mothership.

Fitting the quirky Shoreditch theme, this coffee place looked like a vintage cinema booth but with film names replaced by the team's favourite slogans like 'the perfect cupsize'. They specify their own blend to ensure the highest quality.

I loved the exposed brick design, the communal table with old wooden school chairs and the bar seating overlooking the street. London is in the middle of an Antipodean coffee renaissance and as you might have guessed, Shoreditch Grind continues the trend.

Very cool place. I had some time to kill before getting on a shuttle to Stansted, so at 7am, my friend and I desperately needed a cup of coffee to get us through the coming hours of Ryanair agony. I had their latte, no complaints. I shared the blueberry muffin, which pleasantly surprised me. Instead of just dried blueberries, it had a gooey center. Clearly fresh baked (and yummy).

The baristas were sweet, and it seemed like lot of people popped in before work to grab a cup to go.

The ambiance is trendy, and I'd recommend stopping in!

Really cool bar by night, apparently they do great coffee in the day time as well!

The interior is really different and inventive with its rounded walls. It almost feels as if you're in a fish bowl but no claustrophobic. We sat outside and had a few drinks as there was no tables inside on a busy Friday night. Outside they have great picnic tables perfect if there is more than a couple of you! Would be such a great bar in summer, a little cold now unfortunately.

In the evenings they don't serve any food but have some really nice wine and a couple of well executed cocktails.

Will definitely be back, maybe in the day to try the coffee!

Silicone roundabout style coffee/bar, the tech hub of London and all things innovation. Every startup understands the need for a good coffee shop - when you imparting creative ideas you need a creative environment. Shoreditch grind spotted this gap in the market and provided the soldiers of the tech revolution with a place to relax, work and get jacked up on coffee. The coffee is of a high standard and even the baristas among you will be satisfied.

The cocktails are fairly good here too, nothing to write home about but worth a go if you're passing through Old Street.

Their sandwich selection was pretty meagre, so I opted for a croissant and a cup of tea that were both very enjoyable. The cafe itself can get very busy but luckily they have some benches outside under some trees, which is a very nice spot.

Decided to (continue to) celebrate my birthday weekend with some cocktails at the Shoreditch Grind-- coffee bar by day, cocktail hangout by night!

The bar itself is inside in a  big, black cylinder, something that looks almost more like an old fashioned cinema than a bar. Once you step inside, however, the ambiance is cool, conversational, and lively, jam-packed with local imbibers.

I opted for the Rosemary Cocktail and my friend chose the Apple Martini. Both were magnificently crafted pieces of liquid beauty, presented in vintage-inspired champagne coupes (my favourite piece of glassware!) While both cocktails were a tad heavy on the sweet syrup, we enjoyed them immensely, while seated at the bar and overlooking the interesting Shoreditch foot traffic.

My main complaint is the unexpectedly slow service. The cocktails were delicious, but not particularly complicated. Considering the few orders before and after ours, we were surprised it took nearly 15 minutes to get our drinks.

But, no matter-- they were delicious and the night was still young!

We went to meet Madeline from Twizoo at this trendy coffee shop for a catch up. Great vibe and friendly service.

We got the Shoreditch Grind Espresso Martini, Flip & Grind, and The Big Smoke.

Madeline’s Espresso Martini we were told was perfect, and my Big Smoke has a wonderful alluring appearance plus great balance with the smoky, honey notes from the Bowmore 12yrs Scotch and the Araku Coffee liqueur. However, C’s Flip & Grind ended up being a disappointing mishmash of Espresso Martini and an egg nog – very strange flavour combo.

Shame not all our cocktails were prefect. Maybe better luck next time with our choices. Cocktails are always a great way to kick off a weekend!

A coffee bar on the ground floor and a music recording studio on the first. That's something you don't get to see too often. Shoreditch Grind is just that. Occupying quite a spot by the Old Street roundabout, this coffee bar also morphs into a full fledged cocktail bar at night. The big, round and black building with a red umbrella structure on the top and a cinema sign displaying different slogans on different days is probably something of an iconic structure of the East End now. And when the sun shines, you can even take your cuppa coffee to the benches under the tree right outside.

The interiors are very Shoreditch-ish with large windows, exposed white brickwork, the worn out tables, candles on bottles and low hanging black light-shades. But it does lack a little bit of a final polish. The barista and server seemed a little confused the evening I was there and a few smiles shouldn't hurt them. The place definitely sees a good number of people pass through its doors which could explain why they ran out of everything to eat (including the baked goods which are supposed to be all day) by 4:00 p.m. on a Friday evening. They had just one slice of the red velvet cake remaining so I ended up with that and a hot chocolate. The cake was fabulous. Sweet and airy with a slightly thick icing. The hot chocolate was also one of the better one's I've had and they even created latte art on it. Not something I usually see happening with hot chocolate. The coffee beans they use are their own blend and made to their specifications and has quite a fan following in the area. And if you want, you can also purchase them from the store.

Is this one of those independent coffee shops that is here to make its mark? It certainly does look like it.

Absolutely delicious food - menu is mostly all day breakfast. The sweet potato hash and mushrooms were especially amazing. Coffee and juices nice too but quite pricey. It’s lovely to be able sit outside in the sun but currently with Old Street roundabout works ongoing, it’s quite noisy and polluted.

Can only unfortunately rate the lovely cappuccino I had to go - changed my mind and sat outside on the patio, was no issue and got a carafe of water served as well - the service standard (that I experienced was high). As to the coffee, you can tell the quality of roast and flavour profile (on the sweeter side - yet velvety smooth and delicious) was very high and worth the added price premium.

I can only rate the drinks and their pods, I love their coffees, matcha & chai lattes. The baristas are really skilled! It is a cool environment to work, not so much to chill. Unfortunately the old street construction site ruins a bit the vibe but is not their fault.

My favourite place for drinks in London - great location with a lovely outdoor area right by old street station, amazing cocktails (haven't found better yet!), coffee and food, very friendly staff and great service. It's not too loud (a lot of bars in Shoreditch can be hard to hear conversations in) and surprisingly easy to get a table at. It's my go-to recommendation for friends and visitors to London. 11/10

Delicious food and helpful staff. It is located near a metro station so it's close to transportation. We had breakfast at 9 AM and it wasn't crowded at all.
