Food: ★★★☆☆  Service:★★★★☆  Ambiance:★★★★☆   Overall: ★★★★☆. This was the second time that Pam and I were looking for a nice, not overly pricey pub near Kings Cross. The last time we gave up and settled on The Betjemans Arms, which is not cheap. It was nice enough, but we didn’t fancy going back there. So we walked on … and on … and on. Ok, it wasn’t actually that far, but I had just finished a day  of Open House volunteering and was starving. STARVING I’m telling you!! And still we couldn’t agree on a pub. We stepped into several ones along the way, but either we thought they were too expensive, too much Old-Men-Pub or we couldn’t find anything on the menu we liked. Yes, we are picky.

Probably the best pub in London. Friendly service and the best selection of cider this side of the West Country. The food is above average for a kitchenless pub, too. The mixed platter is filled with carefully chosen cheeses and meats. Often the staff suggest beers to match the food. A beautiful pub with exceptional finishing touches.

Staying in the neighborhood for a few days. I’ve stopped in thrice and plan to do so again today. Exceptionally good service, great cider and beers. Love their pork pie with piccalilli, so damn good! Staff has always been welcoming and good natured. Pub decor makes you feel comfortable and invited. Of all the pubs I’ve tried in London I will miss this one the most.

The Queen's Head, not far from Kings Cross, just down Gray's Inn road. An independent pub with an independent feel. There was not one beer I recognized, brilliant! 3 cask ales and a fine selection of keg beers and ciders ( a Perry too) Great cellar! Nuf sed. Delightful service and a wonderful cheerful atmosphere, great place to drink.

10/10 for beer if you like keg beers, which I do! There is three cask hand pumps here, and I know CAMRA rate this pub. Lady behind the bar was so friendly and chatty, which can be rare when you arrive at opening as they are setting up. This pub is a real gem and only a few mins walk from Kings Cross station. Just down greys inn road a bit. They do cold plates of cheese etc if you need a bite to eat as you enjoy their beers. Piano here and they do have some live music including Jazz if that’s also your thing. Felt like a local pub even though it’s so close to a station.

Lovely pub! Great selection of beers and not too pricey either - I had a lager and an IPA at £5.20/40. Nice historic interior. It was very busy when we went near Christmas and our small group had to move a few times to accommodate some big pre-booked tables, but the staff were helpful in finding us somewhere else to sit.

From my brief experience, this was in fact the best pub in London. Our group of 4 grabbed pints and chatted. It was small and pleasant and a good pick.

My son has just moved in a few yards away. I wanted to try it and I wasn't disappointed. A great traditional pub, so hard to find these day, great ales and my son liked the lager. Next time it will be the cider. Really friendly staff and asked if I was in CAMRA to give me the discount. Exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend if you want to experience a proper pub in Central London

An excellent wee pub with an interesting and ever changing selection of beers. It also has a genuinely superb range of 100+ whiskeys with a helpful menu to aid your choice between peaty, fruity, caramelly, spicy or even meaty... It also has a beautiful teeny, tiny beer garden. Bonus points for the friendly staff and locals.

Affable and hard working barman. Choice of 4 ales on draught. Gets an extra mark for a row of Dickens novels on the shelf. Doesn't open until 4pm on Monday's but other than that keeps standard opening hours.

Freindly and welcoming place just a short walk from King's Cross Station. On a quiet Street so no traffic or unwanted visitors. Tables outside are a great touch.

Googled ‘cosy pub near Kings Cross’ and came across this gem. Lovely traditional interior with knowledgable and friendly staff, had a few tastes of different brews and settled on some lovely stouts. Great find 🙏
