This pub was great! I was able to book a party of 10 for drinks and lite bites. A lovely spot was reserved when we arrived, there was a good selection of drinks and some very nice pub food. Staff was attentive and polite. Plus, the pub was lively but not overly crowded or loud. This is definitely a place I will go again.

Went there yesterday for dinner. Lovely pleasant atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious. Had the asparagus and boiled egg for starter, one of the best starters I’ve ever had! For main had the fish and chips and it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place. The food was delicious, would definitely return there!

Super, really enjoyed the lovely cheese platter, made for sharing, but I could have eaten it all by myself!!!! Enjoyed it with a lovely glass of cool rosé, my grandson had children's pasta dish, yummy, real pasta sauce.....

We came to London with my family! We popped in here for a bite to eat after sight seeing all day! We had 4 adults and 4 kids but it wasn't a problem for the staff who found us a table in the restaurant. We may have caused a little disruption for the couples trying to have a romantic meal but we were made to feel truely welcome. The food was great and we went home satisfied with smiles on our faces! Thank you to all for making our visit special!

Nice pub, we dined upstairs, the menu was more versatile than in closeby pubs and the food good.

Called in for a quick bite and discovered the tin belly dining room. Lovely atmosphere with great meals and outstanding service. One of the best we have experienced in the 4 weeks travelling around Ireland and France before getting to London.

By far one of the best places we ate in London. Staff was attentive and friendly, tables were cleaned off quickly, food was delicious and the drinks were perfect! I had the Meantime Lager which was so good and paired perfectly with the fish and chips. Finished my meal with the sticky toffee pudding (which was a first for me to try) and was the right amount of sweetness. The decor was comforting -not too dark, not too bright. I wish we would have tried it as soon as we got to London because I would have gone more than once. It's definitely a plus for anyone visiting. We plan on visiting London more and this will be #1 on places to eat at!!

The fish and chips were very fresh and tasty. The mushy peas tasted canned but the fish made up for it. The beet salad was also very good. The location is great and the staff was very friendly and helpful!

Good food, I recommend the Ploughman’s Lunch. We are American and this was our first time to London and we had never heard of this but a friend had recommended it and I’m glad we followed through. Great service, staff was friendly. The atmosphere was old English pub style with really cool furnishings, especially the chairs!

What a great place so close to Big Ben. Although the place was full, they were very accommodating to find a seats as quickly as possible. The staff was great. Even on a very busy day. The food was outstanding, however, be aware that we just had the fish and chips.

What a beaut of the pub. Very cosy and welcoming. Steven was looking after us an he was delightful. Not to forget Lisa - she was an absolute gem - gave us recommendations on food and even suggested wine to be paired with. Defo worth checking up upstairs- little secret room with a beautiful bar. We had potato dauphinois pie and it was to die for. If you haven’t been here yet - you’re missing out!

The best fish & chips I've ever had! Situated close to the main sightseeing locations with attentive service, great atmosphere and beer. I cannot eat dairy products, but they were very professional about it and prepared dairy-free version for me.

We visited here the first week of January 2022. Lovely chilly day and perfect for a mid day pint before Trafalgar Square. I had a really nice mulled wine. The atmosphere was nice, the bathroom was clean, the staff was lovely.

The food was so yummy!! One of the best we had in London in terms of traditional British food. The service was ok too- nothing too special but ok which is fine. The ploughmans lunch was our favorite. The scotch eggs and sausage roll was amazing. The atmosphere in the pub was wonderful as all. Would definitely recommend and come back of course. Great place! Thanks for a nice dinner.

Such a great atmosphere. Really delish food, but even better service. We've been there several times, and have never had a bad experience. The upstairs dining area was a pleasant surprise; Steven and crew made everyone feel welcome, and a good time was had by all. I highly recommend The Clarence.

Very lovely, warm service. The food is excellent quality and has a great range of British classics. The building is a beautiful balance between old school architecture with modern renovations. The chicken pie was crispy and fresh and the lamb sausages were so flavorful! The manager Steven was super friendly and a pleasure to converse with and the service from Ewa was prompt and thorough! It was a pleasure to dine here!

Lovely proper old London pub, in one of the best locations in town - between Trafalgar Square and Westminster. We had a table for drinks upstairs in the Bulldog bar, which was less noisy than the main room downstairs. We didn't eat but the Guinness was good, and the service by the 2 girls was friendly and fast. Not much outside space, more like pavement loitering, which was a shame given the location and the beautiful weather, but of course space is at a premium around there. All in all we had a great night, highly recommend.

The fish and chips were amazing. I never got interested in trying fish and chips in 3 years since I'm in London, but when I noticed the fish appearance I had to try it. The fish itself has fantastic flavour and the batter complements it flawlessly. It's tasty and it was not soaked in oil. The dish is well portioned. It has the right amount of chips, fish and dips. I was happy and I felt I did not commit an assault to my stomach as it's usual when I eat fried stuff. The place is also cozy. The gentleman who served us was caring, patient and kind. I'll make sure to come again
