GREAT food!! Everything was delicious! The starters were spicy so watch out if you can't stand it!
The staff is kind and helpful, may rush you a bit once you finish your meal, but it is understandable given that the restaurant gets quite full even on work days. Would go back any time!
I ordered takeout my first night in London and the Drunken Fried Rice with chicken was absolutely delicious and ready within 5 minutes! The service was fantastic. What a great neighborhood spot.
Good food at standard prices (not expensive, not cheap) . Nothing too spicy or exotic unfortunately. They serve everything you would expect from a Thai restaurant in the UK.
A friend and I were going out to lunch and were actually on our way to a burger place before she remembered this on the way. As someone whose been very eager to eat Thai food for a while, I happily complied.
We went at a time after lunch hour so the place was virtually empty. We immediately sat down and received our menus. Our waiter looked a bit cranky but nothing too mean thankfully. Mean waiters just ruin the experience.
We decided to order a Prawn Tempura to share, a Red Curry, a Yellow Curry and a Thai Iced Tea each.
Having heard so much about Thai Iced Tea I was really excited to try it and it did not disappoint! It had a unique flavor I had never tried before but in a really good way. I would come back just for the tea.
The Prawn Tempura was also good. It was quite smaller than what I usually have back at home but the flavor was there, esp with the sweet chilli sauce (my favorite). However the portions given were just too small for the price of the plate.
My yellow curry did not disappoint in any way whatsoever. It had potatoes, onions and prawns in a yellow broth. I ordered mine with sticky rice. The curry was so hearty and warm, it put me in my happy place. The spices were also quite balanced especially tumeric. Usually tumeric can be overpowering but this was perfect. My friend was also quite satisfied with her red curry.
Overall I had a great first Thai experience. The place was a bit on the expensive side but honestly, quite worth it. I recommend this to place to you all and will be taking all my friends here in the future.
My go to place for any hearty thai food. Usually quite busy but staff is attentive (when they can help it...). Food is quite delicious and I usually opt for pad Thai with green curry. Thai fish cake is also quite nice and you can't quite go wrong there. Slightly on expensive side for work lunch but otherwise everything is great.
Good portions gien the price (6pounds for my gorgeous hicken cashew). the green curry is amazing, miles from bad pub food .. good value
Good for a cheeky lunchtime treat 2 courses £10. Small portions, but as you'd expect for the price. Not too comfy though.
The food was delicous lots of choice for vegeterians in particular, as well as for meat eaters, very filling food so over all, excellent and deserves five stars!
The food here wasn't bad, but wasn't outstanding either.
However they do offer free home delivery and thats what gives them the extra half star. Delivery was quite prompt and my order was accurately delivered.
I enjoyed the corn cakes and drunken pork rice. The chicken with cashewnuts had some pineapple in it which I wasn't expecting. The red curry was good, but didn't come with rice (I'm so used to rice being included with thai curries at restaurants back home)
The pork with drunken bamboo shoots wasn't as exciting as I had hoped and used very thinly sliced lean cuts of pork which made it taste more like chicken.
Is a casual restaurant with Thai food. The place isn’t very large there are only about 7 tables inside. The green curry is delicious and is just the right amount of spicy. The noodles with chicken or beef and vegetables are also recommendable.
The portions are generous and the price is very reasonable. You will spend about 25 pounds for two people.
There is seating outside which is nice on a sunny day because you can be part of the charlotte street buzz!
I visited Thai Metro quite a while ago now on two separate occasions whilst visiting my dad on his lunch break. Both my dad and I enjoy Thai food and so chose this restaurant as Dad had eaten at it on another occasion.
The restaurant is quite small and quaint, not overly oriental looking or decorative, just simple. It was also very clean and offered a small selection of outdoor seating.
We only had a short amount of time to eat our lunch (approx an hour) and so we ordered promptly. We both enjoyed a plate of tempura vegetables and pad Thai, mine being chicken pad Thai and Dad's vegetable. He is a vegetarian and often struggles with choice in restaurants however this particular Thai offered a selection of vegetarian dishes.
We both thoroughly enjoyed our food! It also arrived in huge portions, I definitely couldn't finish it all! I definitely wish to return one day.
In summer this is quite a pretty place to lunch, as they have nice outdoor seating in front of the restaurant. The restaurant itself is quite small and intimate, and not the place to go with large groups, but this adds to its appeal. As with many smaller restaurants Thai Metro serves up large plates of food which were delicious and wholesome. I definitely plan to go back to try some of their other dishes, especially as this is a very affordable restaurant.Overall, I was actually very impressed in terms of food and prices; this may just become one of my staple venues for a casual lunch.
Always loved this place, best Thai in the centre, really tasty food and the service very friendly, also good is the take away service!
Thai metro is a cheap and cheerful place, if you want more fine dining thai go to patara on Greek Street. That said for what it is Thai Metro is great, situated on Charlotte Street, I've been here many a time with friends and colleagues after (and during) work. Their lunch time menu is cheap as chips.
Their curries are good but never really that spicy and can be a bit watery. The pad thai, a classic dish, is great and again particularly brilliant value. You can easily have a couple of courses and still be under £15. Not many places that you can get that and still have an enjoyable meal. As such at peak hours it can be difficult to get a table, especially if there is alot of you
Their Pad Thai is my favourite. Good portions for just 6 pounds..totally worth it! Its not a big place, but they have both indoor and outdoor seating. Quick service. Its one of the Thai restaraunt I would recommend for a casual eat-out..not a large get-together.
My favourite Thai restaurant in London! My highlights are the green curry and the chicken satay 😋 cozy atmosphere and nice service!
This Thai restaurant is quite cozy near the busy street of Tottenham ct road. The staff were attentive and helpful. The pineapple rice is to die for. Great value for food, has generous serving as well.
Thank god my friend introduced me to this nook and so went there with my colleague for the 2nd time.
Awsome! Just make a favor to yourself when in London: just go there and ask for the "dumplings" and the "pad thai"! It was the most delicious thai food that I've ever tried when I was in London and for sure, I will come back for more! It's a super relaxed restaurant that you can go easily for lunch or for dinner and you will be surprised with the flavours! enjoy!
It’s quite nice here. They’ve got lovely and respectful staff.
Perfect for a dinner night with friends and colleagues.
Price is fair. You should be able to spend up to £15 for a three course meal with dessert.
I highly recommend.
I came here for something quick because I was intrigued by a mouthwatering portion of rice and curry served into a pineapple. All the dishes on the people's tables looked very tempting. I tried what I believe are one of the best noodles I have ever had in London:Drunken noodles with duck! A portion good also for two people. Amazing! Highly recommend it!
One of the few restaurants that are really worth it in London! We just walked in on a Saturday, no wait. The pineapple rice is A MUST. Also lovely Thai milk tea ❤️
Absolutely amazing! Authentic, very tasty and mouth-watering food. Good variety and prices. Staff very nice and attentive. Very pleasant place. The sticky rice pudding delicious!
Delicious Food and Drinks. Nice staff. Rich ingredients in the Curry. Better taste and lower price than other Thai restaurants I have been. Will come here again!
The food was delicious. I had the Pad see-ew with tofu which was very nice and my boyfriend had their green curry with tofu and it was one of the best green curries I have tried in a long time. Highly recommend for anyone
They have fresh coconut water in coconuts! 🙆🏻♀️ I was super super excited. Portions are very big. Great value. And staff really nice.
This restaurant offers good Thai cuisine at reasonable rates. We tried the fish cakes, garlic pepper chicken stir fry and drunken chicken fried rice. All items were flavorful, I liked the drunken fried rice the most, good portion. Chicken pieces were also in ample quantity. For dessert we ordered the pandan leaf flavored sticky rice with coconut icecream which was good and something different to try. This place is usually crowded, but they have a basement seating area as well if you have no problem with it. Only problem with the basement area is it's lot noisy when people talk as it's a small closed area.
Had lunch in Thai Metro today. I had Drunken Noodles with Beef (£7.65) and my friend had Traditional Fried Rice with Pork(£7.65). Both of them were delicious. Staff were friendly and the service was quick. Not sure if the food was authentic but I was hungry after being out in the sun all day and looking for something tasty with good portions at a good price- something that this place has. Most of their menu is below £10 which is a plus in my book. Definitely coming back. 5 out of 5 stars.
Amazing customer service, Sasha was so hospitable!
The portion sizes were great, kind of annoying that you have to order the noodle dishes and noodles separately but it was still a decent price for the amount.
Will be back again hopefully, it’s got a very cosy feel to it :-)
Reasonably priced for a green curry and rice. Jasmine rice not included and had to be ordered separately. Overall was happy. Atmosphere was fine. Bit small inside the restaurant (We sat upstairs). But went away with a smile.
You can choose from start, main to dessert, 3 course for £12. Reasonable prices, quick service, and delicious. It suits even one person come for quick bite. Tom yum soup very authentic, but usually serve with seafood tho. And the dessert just so excited to give it a try! Overall it’s good, would like to come back for different dishes next time :)
