Wonderful place with one of the best platters and fresh ingredients at reasonable prices, optimal hygienic conditions and with a really friendly and professional staff.
Visited this place on my birthday during the happy hours to have drinks. They have a good selection of drinks which turns out very reasonable during happy hours. The staff is super friendly and they even gave me a free cupcake since it was my birthday.
Huge and varied menu with a cool industrial feel. The wait staff were prompt and pleasant and everything we had was delicious - if slightly overpriced! Make the most of the lunch specials there and happy hour for 2:1 cocktails!
So good!! Have lived more than half my life in South East Asia and am so happy to have found very similar flavours at Banana Tree! Must try the Amok, the chicken dumpling and the Banana Tree Spice Noodle. Only thing is you do come out feeling extremely full from the heaviness of the noodles. But so worth it nonetheless!

After a mediocre dining experience a few years ago, I was pleasantly surprised by both the service and the food upon my recent return to the Battersea branch of Indochinese restaurant Banana Tree.
After short wait in the reception area, my friend and I were led to one of the private tables off the main room. As a "shared dining" hater, I was happy not to be seated at one of the long, communal tables.
Both vegos, my friend and I shared the aubergine with caramel sauce for our starter. It was cooked to perfection and super-tasty. For mains we both went for the Blackened Monk Noodles - mine sans-egg to veganise the dish. The portions were massive with a tonne of perfectly-cooked tofu and tasty, crunchy veg served with the noodles. The noodles also came with a huge rice cake and crispy corn cakes. After having a starter too, I couldn't quite finish my main but I put in a good effort!
The menu is pretty big without being overwhelming and all allergens and dietary options are clearly marked. I often find dining in Asian restaurants a little tricky given that fish sauce is secretly hidden in many recipes; not so at Banana Tree as "vegetarian" dishes that have fish sauce in them are clearly marked.
At around £16 per head including drinks the huge meals are great value and I'd definitely go back for a cheap but tasty meal.
Grt meal....will be back. I was there for a surprise birthday party with my friend ,we had a group of 12 pepole ( we book the table ) even though we hd to wait for the table. (well worth ) .food was fantastic &staffs r really friendly and i love chiphadai...thats my favourite.we drop a birthday cake early in the eveing to surprise our friend. we thought they just get the birth day cake end of the meal just like that as other restaurant do.it was really nice of them , host in the door and his collegues they gave a great surprise for my friend.birth day song from the waiting staffes.. and even near tables start to sing...

Amazing food. This restaurant serves amazing Indo-china cuisine, we are NEVER disappointed. Its got a great set up inside, nice and modern unlike some other Asian restaurants, and the service is prompt. Sometimes I think the staff have a little trouble with English but they are very friendly and always get our order correct, even if you feel they've looked at you blankly after you asked for something specific. We have never booked and always get a table. If you are short on cash go between 6 and 7 pm and you will get the cheaper version of the menu- a smaller selection but it comes with rice and asian salad for £6 or £7 and all the starters are £3, excellent value! Order the money bags as a starter!
Great modern thai. Food was excellent but service was lacking. I can't count how many times our server rolled his eyes. The owners obviously spent alot of time on the motif and but need to spend more time picking their waiters. If the food wasn't as good I would've left. Charred pork was excellent and my wife had the pad thai with chicken which she says was "amazing."

Busy thai canteem but always delivers. Been coming to this place for sometime now and still hasnt change. Good vide and atmosphere.
Good for a quick, cheap meal, but the Phad Thai could have been fresher.
For starters we shared chicken and shitake moneybags – crispy chicken and shitake mushroom stuffed parcels served with chilli sauce @ £4.90, and kau chi dumplings – handmade pork and prawn dumplings with aged vinegar + garlic sauce @ £4.60. Both were really tastey (even if the dumplings looked a bit deflated).
All I want is a good Nasi Goreng in London?
It has been a long time since we ate Thai food so we decided to go back to the Banana Leaf Canteen near Clapham Junction. Usually it is less crowded than the Pepper Tree located in Clapham Common and it was the case again.
The atmosphere here is full of buzz. It is a delightful restaurant with a variety of yum dishes to offer. Though this place gets busy in the evening and it is difficult to find a place especially o the weekends, it is only rightly crowded as it serves delicious food!
The overall experience was quite delightful at this place.This place was perfect for my friend's birthday celebrations. The incredible food and super friendly staff made the waiting definitely worth it.We had dropped in the cake in the evening to surprise our friend but the serving at the end of our meal by the waiting staff was so sweet ,with them singing the birthday song for our friend which had the neighboring tables join the celebration! Wonderful staff!
This place is a good option if you like Indo-Chinese cuisine. The place is nice, offers great food and has some very warm and attentive staff. The staff however seem to have a little difficulty in speaking English, but they are always eager to serve. We always get a table and are never disappointed.
This was one of my regulars fr quite some time. I always had blackened pork. It was absolutely delicious as well as value for money. The quality of other dishes served by them was also top notch and they took great care of their customers. I really enjoyed my time there.
The food here was excellent specially the charred pork. The decor is also great and the interiors are done up beautifully. The service however, was so disappointing. I cannot even reveal how many times I caught our waiter rolling his eyes, appearing annoyed. Only focusing on the decor and food is not enough. Owners need to be able to pick good staff too.
I have been to this place a couple of times and always returned back happily. This place is always so full of crowd. If you want a really authentic experience of Thai food, this is the place to be. Food is alluring, enticing and extremely delicious. Would definitely return back to this place!
This place is located at a very approachable location. The food this place has to offer is appetizing and delicious. The service is good, and food is served without any unnecessary delays. Even though the place can be a bit noisy, it is still worth a visit, and I have enjoyed thoroughly both the times I have been here.

We ordered crispy chicken and a shitake mushroom. All this was served with a rightly balanced chilli sauce which was paid for separately. The dumplings, though looked a little deflated were also palpable in their taste. I loved the portions served to us. The prices were also reasonable. The dash of aged vinegar on the handmade prok was the winner for me!
The menu at this place is extensive and offers a variety of different dishes. The ambiance involves shared tables, which shouldn't be a problem if you visit the restaurant midweek as there are lesser people then. The food here is delicious, and the best of all dishes is the noodle soup, which is extremely appetizing. I would definitely recommend this place.
This place has a different seating arrangement in a linear fashion where you might find yourself across a stranger but that is not at all annoying. The place is great place for families and youth.
You should check this place out if looking to try reasonably priced tasty dishes. My recommendation is the coriander chicken and for dessert the Balinese rice pudding. This is the best i have ever tasted!The texture achieved like perfection and totally heavenly in taste.

The reason why this place falls short of a perfect five is their imperfect service.But i have got to say this place serves amazing food! The menu basically offers southeast asian flavors. I came to this restaurant on a recommendation of one of my friends and was glad that I wasn't disappointed. The menu was quite an extensive one and you will definitely get value for your money compared to the portions that are served. The restaurant was packed and I was really cramped for some room. It was also very noisy which made it quite difficult to have a conversation with my friends. The staff was quite helpful and attentive all the time. I would strongly recommend you all to make reservations before going there.
As for London standards, this place offers some good food at reasonable prices. The portions are large and would not leave one starving or craving for more. It has a good drinks menu as well as a happy hours option for customer attraction. I would highly recommend this place. The only negative this place would have would probably be the interiors.

I ordered the Pad Thai which always satiates me. It can quite noisy in here so it isn't a place for relaxing meals. However, the atmosphere is lovely. Highly recommended!
The wine selection is not so costly, the turnover is pretty good and the place is always busy with people. Though one has to wait a long while to get a table, I would say that the wait is worth it! A dish I would highly recommend is the blackened chilli pork. It is fabulous!

We were a large group of people and figured out this place as i wanted halal meat. First of all, we ordered their Banana Tree combo which had generous portions. Garlic wings and roasted duck are the must haves if you are coming to this place. I like my food to be high on spices and flavorful, and the food exactly was like that here. For desserts, coconut pancakes were recommended to us and by far they were the best. Highly recommended!
I am one of the regulars to this restaurant and those who love Indo-China cuisines must visit this place sometime. I had a prawn with sweet chilli sauce which complimented the overall dish quite well. The mains were also fantastic and whole meal was absolutely delicious, I would definitely return to this place very soon.

We passed this place many times but never had the courage to walk in until today.
My grandson wanted dumplings, so we thought we give it a try, he choose something else 🤣
As you enter you can sense the ambiance and atmosphere they were welcoming and with different corners to sit, you really feel at home.
It really puts Wagamama to shame, the service was good, the food tasted amazing, their non alcoholic drinks were plenty, and freshly squeezed, I can go on and on.
I will definitely be going there more often.

Food that we had and shared were all fantastic especially the starter squid with its very special sauce. It was my number one choice. The Singapore Laksa was likewise delicious. It wasn’t the same as the Laksa in Singapore but you won’t regret trying it when you miss this popular and mouthwatering Southeast Asian dish. We also tried their ramen because of the oddly cold autumn weather and we tried two options and it didn’t disappoint. It was unique and delicious. We shared a mixed pad thai that was served with a lot of chicken sliced and prawns. All I can say is… hmmmm yummy!!! We were likewise given a very special dessert. A lava cake served with vanilla ice cream and it completed our meal outstandingly.
Overall, their food was excellent but for someone who is very particular with service, I would say that all of their staff, particularly, Silvio elevated out standard. He took care of us. He constantly asked us if we were doing alright with the right timing making sure that he is not interrupting our conversations, he knows their selections quite well, and most especially, served our food quickly with his welcoming attitude.
I am definitely recommending this place to my family and friends. Our experience here is highly recommended.
Silvio was a very on it, food and drinks came out quick. Very friendly. I will definitely be coming back. Everything tasted great. And great value of money! I got 1 main 1 pudding and 4 cocktails for £53 and worth it!

Excellent venue, most people book but we walked in and were seated instantly even though the restaurant was busy. Amazing food, great variety and all the dishes were as described and better. Fresh ingredients and fabulous presentation and adequate portions. 2 for 1 cocktails all day every day are a great bonus!! Sandeep provided excellent service throughout the meal! Not rushed to leave which is great for a Friday night! 😊

Staff were friendly however one memeber of staff stood out her name was Jo with great professional attire consisting of a black blazer with a black and white zebra style dress with addias shoes. The food was lovely and all day 2 4 1 cocktails was great I would recommend for a nice date night or out with friends
