Such a cute place where one can satisfy all their cravings at the best prices, with the help of a really nice and friendly staff not to mention the highly prompt and punctual service as well.
Amazing place in London. I love the food. can’t wait to come back here again. Congratulations to the staff.
I was suggested this place for a perfect british culture feel experience. It is a very elegant place with delicious tea and lovely people. I love this place for having a nice tea experience.
Nice ambiance. Good fine dine experience. The quality of the food is also very nice. Visited with my girlfriend. Worth every penny.
Must visit.
yaha pe raat ko bahut hi acha mausam bana hota hai, yaha aap apni shaaki ke liye bhi khana karwa sakte hai. Inki service bhot hi badhiya hai
the food is awesome i want to promote more of this restaurant because seriously food quality and taste is awesome i am request to restaurant owner to all me once i want to talk once with the restaurant owner to give more idea of restaurant call me on this no +918766376175
THE FANCIEST PLACE I have ever been to in my life. Surely tooo expensive because it is the finest of the fine dines I have been to but oh! The vibe you get once you are there. From the staff, to the ambience to the food and my favourite, the washrooms, everything is impeccable. Located in the heart of London, I cannot reccomend it more for a fan of fine dine. And do not forget to visit the washrooms!
Sketch gallery sai jgh h...aap sabhi aaye Or yaha vyanjaan chakhe or Iska anand uthaaye... Bahut hi sai khaana h yaha ka... Ek dum mast..ek baar aao baar baar khaao
What an experience! The most instagrammed place in Mayfair I believe! The gallery was so beautiful with the pink undertones for the entire room with staff also in their cute outfits adding to the theme. The infamous toilet pods where everyone was taking pictures (yes, me too), was out of this world.
For food we opt for the champagne afternoon tea because why not! 90 pounds per person with UNLIMITED TEA! They had me at unlimited tea. With 27 different tea choses to choose from I got to try 6 different teas. I was running to the bathroom non-stop. Food consisted of delicious sandwiches, foie gras, salmon toast, egg truffle, caviar and desserts. All the savoury dishes was beautiful. I had no idea we could have ordered more till half way so did I stuff my face even more? I sure did!
Now for dessert, I don't eat chocolate and I told them that I preferred no chocolate as they asked for any dietary requirements. Most places would replace or whip up another kind of dessert but at sketch, this was not the case. Instead, I just got double and triple of the non-chocolate desserts. Don't think they alter dishes which is unfortunate.
Did we enjoy the experience? Definetly. But I think it's one of those places you go to once and that'll be it.
WHAT IS IT?: The much Instagrammed perfectly pink dining room in the multi-venue Sketch townhouse, with food as imaginative as its decor. MY PICKS: Duck breast (£38.00), Tchouki (£11.00). CAN I TAKE MY VEGAN FRIEND?: Yes – the menu clearly indicates the vegan options, although there aren’t many (2 starters and 2 mains – no desserts!). It’s worth noting that we found Sketch Gallery pretty inflexible in altering dishes. Nonetheless, I guarantee they’ll enjoy the experience.

A must visit when in London. Make sure to check out the bathroom.
-Very nicely dressed and polite staff.
-Fun seating.
-Good coffee.
*Consider making a reservation
Wonderful experience, amazing decor and well organized. The staff are professional and very kind, the service is good, and the ambience is good.
Excellent decor with such a good service. Food was also good too. Ambiance was great with local and international guests. Liked very much and very much recommendable. Keep it up!! :)
Really beautiful interior, good service, clean, good upper scale international and local crowd, great location, the food has amazing presentation, great food options, decent prices. I strongly recommend !
Some of the best scones and macroons indeed from here, really good and so amazing, high points for service and taste; truly loved it for sure!
Enjoy having High tea at the sketch gallery with my friends sketch is a unique London restaurant offering a diverse selection of bars and dining room nice place with gentle serving staff
Sketch is a unique London restaurant offering a diverse selection of bars and dining rooms. I first visited Sketch about 10 years ago and enjoyed the tasting menu at the Lecture Room. More recently, my boyfriend surprised me with Afternoon Tea at Sketch’s famous Gallery,
My first ever high tea experience and it was absolutely the best! Such amazing and friendly service here! The interior is jaw-breaking! The little fine details of everything made it such a pleasant experience. The toilets were shaped like egg shells! Frequently cleaned by cleaners. The waiters were super friendly and easy to talk to. I went solo on my own, and they even accommodated for that! It is on the pricier end of high tea, but a once in a lifetime experience, so why not! Not to mention, the food was divine! All-you-can-eat menu for 2hours! The pink slice of cake was probably the only thing i didn’t like, but everything else was soo good! Definitely coming back in the future!!
Interior is EVERYTHING for sketch! The forest room, the pink room, the igloo, and even the bathroom. It all takes you to another planet. The service is impeccable and the drinks are amazing. Really enjoyed my time and would definitely go again during my next visit.

Sketch is a unique London restaurant offering a diverse selection of bars and dining rooms. I first visited Sketch about 10 years ago and enjoyed the tasting menu at the Lecture Room. More recently, my boyfriend surprised me with Afternoon Tea at Sketch’s famous Gallery, of which I’d heard many great things.
Great place for casual drinks, be it pre theatre or late night. We’ve enjoyed many an evening here and would be happy to recommend it to friends.
It had been two years or so since I visited Sketch and once again it was completely different. This time with dusty pink interior, I got the feeling like I was stuck in the 1960’s- all I needed now was big hair and a classic pin-up dress to match.
Opening the menu, I was startled to see paper cutlery pop up, which was pretty cool! As a consumer, I felt like I was gaining an experience rather than just having dinner, I like that it has a museum feel rather that a restaurant.
To begin, I had thinly sliced tuna with Avocado, which was absolutely divine! By now, you should know that I am in love with Sashimi! This was accompanied by a glass of white wine- Pinot to be precise, although I did move onto cocktails in the latter, which is always a bad idea. (Bouji Tip: Never mix cocktails and fish based dishes!) British designer David Shirley designed the plates and his artwork can be seen throughout the restaurant- classic, monochrome, but childlike which is a great conversation starter.
For dessert, I chose Malabar, which has to be the best dessert that I have tried in a long while. I will definitely be back solely to have dessert and cocktails as this was just what my taste buds required; Lemon foam, bubble gum ice-cream, Panna cotta, Orange blossom and strawberry marshmallows. I felt like a little child again 😉
Oh and you must visit the toilets, which was the highlight of my night! Although that sounds rather weird, which it was, but the toilets are designed into alien egg spaceship capsules. Once inside, something strange happens, you can hear the sound of birds tweeting as you pee. How thoughtful of Sketch!
I never noticed at the beginning but there is actually hopscotch on the floor at the entrance of Sketch. I don’t know what possessed me but I actually attempted to hopscotch on the way out! Live a little. Carpe Diem!
Price: £££
In celebration of the festive season, sketch has partnered with artist Chris Levine to create Silent Light – a laser and sound installation in its gallery. I paid a morning visit to sketch for the launch and was subdued, mesmerized and delighted by the work. A low “ommmmm” emitted throughout the rather glamorous digs of sketch’s (David Shrigley art bedecked) gallery walls with laser beams (of mostly violet hue) dancing overhead with diffuse light throughout the room: it’s an unusually placid tone especially for a buzzy Mayfair haunt like sketch.
The world is a bit shit at the moment. The leader of the free world is an orange-faced buffoon, Brexit is going so badly that Africa will soon be sending us aid, and Moseley still doesn’t have a Waitrose. Worst of all, none of it matters anyway because we’re all going to get nuked by North Korea.
Absolutely amazing, no place like this! Beautiful decor, friendly staff and delicious food. Make sure you check out the bathroom too.. very unique!!
The best tea i have ever had. The interior is just out of this world, you step into the gallery and it feels like you're in a fairytale. The food was phenomenal as well, didn't think tea could be this delicious! The coronation chicken was my favourite, i kept asking for more (yes you can ask for as many as you'd like). And my favourite dessert would have to be the decadent chocolate and caramel praline entremet. Absolute prefection
The place is very fancy, nice and very instaworthy. The presentation of the food is really nice but the taste is just ok for me. Prepare to spend £58/person.
Favourite place in London• Lovely staff!
••• Totally fell for this place, this pinkish ambiance and definitely their food.
••• What I'd recommend is the veal platter; really juicy and tasty!
••• What we liked less: the fish and chips
•Definitely a must try•
One of best bars in London! Every room has its own personality and the decoration is amazing in each one of them. The food is good and the bar at the end of the restaurant is beautiful.
Seriously only went for the restaurant aesthetics, although walked out pleasantly surprised by the food. Great service and a completely out of this planet bathroom. If you don't come out with a few selfies in front of that mirror, did you really go to sketch?

The restaurant was very good ambience and fancy. And also have a cute meal. Howefer the price is pricey. But worth it
Recommend for order is highdining afternoon tea set 44GBP. Just need 1 package for 2-3 person. And enjoy the biola while you enjoy the cake! :)
For my best friend’s birthday last year something special had to be done. I had arranged an afternoon tea at sketch during the short timeframe she was going to be in London, otherwise I rarely get to see her. Sketch is located right off Regent Street and when you enter its truly like stepping into another world. The first thing you notice is the interior design. On your way to the famous pink dining area, you’ll pass a bar on your left which looks like something out of Alice In Wonderland.
Wow! Best dinner in this New Year, I so much enjoyed myself. I will continually tell People about you meal. Got a best reward which is for my money.

Uma das melhores salas para tomar o dito "chá das 5".
2 opções de menus (caros) onde o chá é oferta.
Não deixem de visitar os WCs!!
Ideal for a break between London tours. For 2 hours you can enjoy a great afternoon tea in a unique and twisting environment. It isn’t cheap, but if you scour the menu, you’ll find items less taxing to the wallet.
ps: Going to the coolest eggest bathrooms is a must!
On my first day in London, I stopped by Sketch in Mayfair. Described as quirky, 18th-century townhouse tea rooms that bring together food, art & music, at Sketch you can enjoy a delicious afternoon tea in one of their gorgeously decorated rooms such as the Gallery, Parlour or Lecture Room & Library.
An excellent choice for a stylish and fun dinner out. The decor is eclectic, with each room having it's own personality, and yes, the toilets are particularly instagram-worthy. The cocktails are awesome and the food is bold and imaginative. A very unique experience and highly recommended.
A fancy restaurant with cool interior and delicious food. The Chantilly Lace (appetizer) was the the highlight of the night. Service was lovely, and the toilet was fantastic.
Had an amazing experience. Me and my friends went for some afternoon tea. Everything was perfect. The decor was just breathtakingly beautiful.
The food was great from the finger sandwiches to the scones. Loved every bit of it. I highly recommend it to anyone willing to have a great afternoon tea experience with family & friends.
The most amazing and stunning place in the whole world. The decoration, the colors, the ambiance, the food, the music... every detail is absolutely perfect! The seasonal afternoon tea menus and bathroom decorations are a must
Let keep it sweet and simple. An amazing place with a great service and equally amazing food. This place is a must visit for everyone who is in London. Once you go there, you'll understand what the hype is about. P.s:- make sure you use the Washroom before leaving
Absolutely Amazing 😍
If you are looking for an Alice in wonderland experience with fine French fusion dining then look no further then sketch ❤️️. Best afternoon tea in London.... everything was exceptional right from service to decor to tea and food selection.
Sketch is a magical place with ever changing rooms, yummy beautiful food, pink fairytale furniture n beautiful ambience and FREAKING AWESOME TOILETS!!
Service - The service at tea was superb, everyone who works here is incredibly nice and helpful. They made sure we had plenty of food and warm tea.
Afternoon tea-
It was £45 per person with unlimited tea and food. Tea selection was huge and we were given 2 hour time slot to enjoy all the teas and tiny bites. Soon a 3-tired server was brought to our table with finger sandwiches, pastries, tiny cheese cake shooters and malabar marshmallows. Later we were brought scones with clotted cream and jams and finally two pieces of cake. I specially loved their savory sandwiches and scones my favorite being grilled cheese, smoked salmon and coronation chicken sandwich.
Toilets, must visit!!! Awesome individual egg shaped toilets with soothing birds chirps to sing you to poops. The colorful stained glass ceiling added to the magic.
Value for money 3.5/5- This place is expensive but considering such high end place in London serving unlimited stuff with excellent service is worth the amount paid!!
It was an out of the world experience and we left feeling very stuffed and content. Lovely place to spent time with your loved ones for a lovely memory ❤️️
I was somewhat skeptical before eating here, however it was suggested for my best friends birthday and so I decided that I would finally give in and try it - I was not disappointed.
I consider myself something of a seafood buff, and have had my fair share of bad lobster in my time. Nothing about this was bad. The lobster was delicious (I went for the original I believe, a whole lobster) There was plenty of meat to be had, and it was easily obtained without having to work too hard to get at it. The garlic butter sauce is delicious, and I was more than satisfied.
The staff at the restaurant were wonderful and incredibly attentive and friendly, I am always a little skeptical of any restaurant that does not have a standard dry martini on their menu - they were more than happy to make me one, and it was of a food quality so kudos once again to the staff.
The service was also very speedy, and the wait time between ordering and receiving our food was minimal.

To start with, this is a beautiful beautiful venue!!! I loved every corner of it. There's not one boring or ugly thing about this place!
I headed straight to the gallery, a pink wonderland! The food is not considered my favorite part of this restaurant, the only dish that stood out was the champagne burrata(to die for)!
Otherwise loved the atmosphere and the setup!
Sketch is perfect for that first date where you wish to impress! The furniture is interesting and so are the drinks. With three bars to choose from, you'll be spoiled for choice.
Sketch is a girly, glamourous room, with soft, velvety sofas and chairs. Glimmering rose gold accents and an amazing zig zag tiled floor. A friendly hostess told us
It has taken me 20 months of living in London to make it to Sketch. To be honest, that is probably 20 months too long. Possibly the most famous dining institution in London, Sketch is simply not to be missed. The interior, food, service and general atmosphere is next level. Entering the foyer felt like I'd fallen down Alice's rabbit hole; quirky fixtures, bold artwork and a hopscotch greeted me.
There are so many choices when it comes to an Afternoon tea session in London. There are so many varieties and it might be quite overwhelming to find the right place. Well, you definitely cant go wrong with Sketch.
The décor is stunning, but you are very closely seated to the other guests, which we didn't mind. The service was outstanding, there are so many people taking care of you - you will definitely not be forgotten.
We opted for the Champagne afternoon tea. They will always refill the items of your choice, which is great if you really have a favourite and need to have it again. The sandwiches as well as pastries are great - and definitely something you wouldn't find anywhere else.
They have a great selection of teas as well. At sketch you can combine your love for food and art at ones. Its a quirky place and always worth a visit.
One of the reasons why I don't really eat egg is mainly because of a recurring nightmare I had in high school. I dreamt I was abducted by unearthly creatures and was forced to eat a roomful of hardboiled ostrich eggs. I would get punished if I didn't finish the lot. #truestory. So essentially, the ubiquitously snapped toilet at sketch is my idea of a nightmare.
When A told me we were up for an 8th year friendship anniversary dinner, I knew sketch Gallery was the way to go. A is one of my bestest friends in the world whom I met through my previous job. She's a girly girl who likes all things pink, I'm a not-so-girly girl who likes opulent eccentricities - it was just the perfect setting.
sketch is a centre of food, art and music conceived by michelin-star chef Pierre Gagnaire and Mourad Mazouz (the dude behind Morroccan restaurant Momo on Hedden St). The building is split into a michelin-starred fine dining restaurant (The Lecture Room & Library), a rather more casual downstairs area (Gallery), a tearoom (The Parlour) and a cocktail bar (The Glad). There's also a cool DJ room/bar called the East Bar which is great for pre-dindin drinks.
I had been back in London for about a week, and I had the post-holiday blues bad – particularly as I’d managed to get a month off over Christmas and New Year to travel around Cambodia and Japan. So when the Travelex team got in touch to see if I wanted to play tourist in London, I was over the moon – particularly as they’d given me some dosh to spend, too.
My step dad's been away skiing in Austria this last week so I've been staying over at my mums to keep her company! So nice spending some girly time with her - plus she lives literally 5 minutes down the road from my new office...I'm starting to wonder why I ever moved out!2. AFTERNOON TEA AT SKETCH
Oh my I wish I could come here more often. The service is top notch and the food is great. Although sadly you are booked into 2 hour slots and they need the table after that the staff were very accommodating and found us a space in the bar so we could continue our night.
The room is absolutely stunning! If on a budget you are able to order dishes around £14 so it's not as bad as it may seem when you first look at the menu - it's somewhere you have to visit. Also you can't leave without seeing the toilets.
This place is a go go just for the interiors! Amazing rooms with diferent vibes and decor. The tea and sandwiches are really good - have the mozzarela one :) and dont forget to make a trip to the loo, they are out of this world
Michelin star-awarded Sketch is composed of two expansive floors made up of a variety of spaces that serve food throughout the day. The beautiful Gallery is one of these spaces where Afternoon Tea is served.Decked out in the style of a 1930s tea room, the Gallery is often referred to as the Pink Room, with its pink walls, pink chairs, and delicate rose gold detailing. Although this is a luxurious setting, it doesn't feel formal. This is mainly because of the deliberate juxtaposition of 239 pieces of art lining the restaurant walls. Created by celebrated British artist David Shrigley who is part of a long-term programme of artist-conceived restaurants, his work also includes ceramic tableware featuring Shrigley's distinctive mordant drawings and texts.
Had a dinner with a friend at the sketch gallery restaurant today. Ordered the starter with langoustines and it was delicious. We were already quite full, so didn't try a lot of the dishes. But whatever we tried was absolutely amazing. Strongly recommend this place💕
I love afternoon tea as a meal - it's the kind of meal your parents always told you was not acceptable as a child consisting almost exclusively of carbs and sugar. It is such a treat and an exercise in absolute indulgence. In the UK, we are spoiled for choice and there is no shortage of people ready and willing to provide you with your midday pick-me-up. This is no truer than in London but the afternoon tea I had at Sketch I'd rate as one of the best I've had.
The reasons why are as plentiful as the food ranging from the classy fit out of this protected historical site to the David Sprigley pieces of art which adorn the walls of the gallery and even the crockery you eat off. And eat off them you do as the stream of food quickly arrives upon giving the ok.
As with any afternoon tea, the standard format was adhered to with finger sandwiches followed by scones then enough sweet stuff to kick your liver into overdrive. There wasn't a single item I didn't like and some items, I liked dangerously too much like the mozzarella and pesto toasted sandwich which was so so moreish. So much so that I'd hoped that I could order more...and this was when things got taken to a whole other level.
You see, what they sell you is "afternoon tea" - what it should be is an "afternoon buffet" because the generosity of the experience at Sketch was like no other. Each time a food item was finished, without fail we would be asked if we wanted a refill. As a result, I completely embarrassed myself as I proceeded to consume a year's worth of mozzarella in that one sitting. You want to talk about indulgent; here at Sketch they set to define it.
Making my way home with another 4 mozzarella toasties and a couple of scones to go, I can't help but reflect fondly on an afternoon well spent at Sketch. It wasn't cheap mind you but there is nothing cheap about Sketch and that is doubly true in the sheer quantity of food they give you.

I had the pleasure of visiting sketch for lunch recently and it was a truly wonderful experience. The first thing you'll notice from the photos is that the venue is as visually striking as the food is delectable . The pink decor may not be to everyones taste, but you cannot deny its impact and lasting impression. My wife and I booked an afternoon tea which did not disappoint. The service was wonderful (as it should be for the price) and our waitress was helpful at every stage of the experience, from initial selection of tea, to guidance over individual menu elements and the cocktail menu. Only criticisms I could have a mild and revolve on personal taste, such as not being able to see tea leaves for instance in the teapots could raise question as to how the tea is actually being brewed behind the scenes. Like I said though, only minor. To top the whole experience off, my wife and I were offered with free cocktails as it was mentioned in passing that were were booking as part of a honeymoon. The staff is obviously so attentive as to take note of this information revealed weeks earlier to make out experience at sketch extra special.I can't wait to experience the food, decor and hilarious sketches on the wall again on our next visit. I however might give the odd bathroom "pods" a miss!
This is a very eclectic spot to have afternoon tea and I enjoyed every moment of its quirky and whimsical surrounds. You have to check out the lavatories, it's like a set from the movie "Cocoon".
Afternoon teas are usually not very kind to persons with nut and lactose intolerances. I was impressed by how thorough the pastry chefs were in tailoring my selection of sandwiches and pastries. The raisin scones were a bit dense as a result of not using milk (due to lactose intolerance) as the binding agent.
Sketch is a wonderful hidden world, disguised as a Townhouse from the outside.
Each room is uniquely decorated; they feel like they are different worlds for you to get lost within.
One of my absolute favourites is their Pink room, The Gallery.
Paris-based Architect and Designer; India Mah was the mastermind creating the backdrop for British artist David Shrigley's satyrical sketches that line the walls. It is one of the most glorious gallery spaces in London.
Sketch's Afternoon Tea Extravaganza, is not just any Afternoon Tea it's an experience.
There is ceremony to the pouring of champagne for example.
First you choose your tea, and throughout the session you may try as many of the different teas as you like.
I went for the Green Tea blend of Osamnthus, a flowering green tea that is hand tied around an orange osmanthus flower, which gives it a hint of citrus. Later I had the Jasmine Pearl and finished off with Nilgiri Frost, a fragrant black tea with hints of apple.
As soon as the teas came, three towering layers of decadence followed suit.
All of which can be refilled as much as you please ;]
There is a round of sandwiches including; smoked salmon, quail egg mayo, cucumber, melted cheese pesto; all of which have a modern twist.
My personal highlight was the melted cheese pesto, which was even served warm and wrapped with a bow.
Topped with a selection of tarts, opera cakes, maracons and scones fresh from the oven.
Warm, fruity scones were slathered with clotted cream and a choice of fig, strawberry and/or raspberry jam.
The scones were crumbly, crispy-topped and buttery; just how they should be.
It was a wonderfully glorious spread.
Enough to leave anyone grinning from ear to ear with satisfaction.
If you can't finish your triumphant tower of treats, you can even take the rest away with you.
Sketch effortlessly snags the title of 'The Best Afternoon Tea in London,' in my books.
Yummei's? 10/10
Birthday treat in the Gallery - Amazing. My boyfriend took me to sketch for my birthday - having never been before it was a lovely surprise, I was welcomed on arrival with a 'Happy Birthday' which was a nice personal touch. The menu was quirky and original and the anticipation to see the dish after reading the description was great, I could definitely reccomend the Red Mullet dish!... After the main, i was surprised again with a complimentary plate of minature cakes with happy birthday written on the plate, it was all very 'sweet' i felt very well looked after... For special occassions, sketch is definitely the place to go.
London restaurants are usually limited on the selection of food & beverages, but, Sketch alternatively changes their menus around from time to time (whether seasonal or month isn't sure). I was very impressed by how many people gather themselves into this stylish place and found the restrooms somewhat confusing at first but nonetheless impressive!
If you visit London, this is a great place to visit for a night out since it has everything you need for the particular occasion which includes a bar, a dining room, a gallery, themed areas and much more.
The visual graphics are also something all art appreciators should take a look at due to the many selected artists who made an effort to give the place their one-of-a-kind motion captures for the walls and ceilings!
Reservations is a MUST tho!!!
I remember seeing the beautiful photos of the afternoon tea at Sketch and begged Mr Nom to take me. On the morning of the reservation I was super excited! I did not eat any breakfast and was ready for my treat at Sketch. Full of smiles stepping into Sketch I was led into the Glade room and I could not believe how pretty it was. It reminded me of Alice in Wonderland, the walls were painted like a forest with mirrors around the corners of the room and red lasers flashing. There was an array of beverages to choose from and we both decided to select teas, Mr Nom and I both had our eye on the Vanilla tea but he chose the Chai tea instead so we could both try more of the wonderful teas on offer. The Vanilla tea was lovely! I don’t normally drink a lot of tea apart from my green tea at home but I think I would be drinking vanilla tea from now on. The afternoon tea set was utterly beautiful, the wonderful colours and the impressive selection of cakes and sandwiches, combined with the surround
I had not been to Sketch in a very long time and was so pleasantly surprised about how great it was. Sketch is sort of a house in Mayfair (Conduit street) that has 2 restaurants and various bars and lounge areas each very quirky and in their individual and very cool style. If you like design, art and furniture, then Sketch is a must visit for you. As the website says “Sketch is a complex and unique site”. The people behind Sketch, that opened it in December 2002, are French master chef Pierre Gagnaire (who has a 3 Michelin star restaurant in France) and restaurateur Mazouz. I came to Sketch for dinner. There are 2 options for dinner, you can either have dinner in their gallery, which is sort of like the Sketch brasserie, or if you want to spend more money you can go to their 2 Michelin star restaurant, Lecture Room & Library. We chose the cheap
Overall, a memorable afternoon tea experience at the Gallery restaurant at sketch - pretty finger sandwiches and scones with clotted cream and homemade jam. The mismatched furniture, wall and floors added to the charm. Check out the egg shaped toilets.
A funky place for amazing afternoon tea, I was too excited taking pictures with the set so I don't have pictures of the set. It is like eating afternoon tea in an all pink wonderland, but those quirky paintings on the wall gave this place an attitude. The set was amazing: you can feel the spice from the ginger bread macaroons, caviar sandwich and salmon sandwich topped with salmon roe was the best out of the savory selection, the pineapple tart had the right balance of sweetness and citrus sourness, not to mention the fruit scones with jam and cream was warm and buttery. The toilet is the fun part, those pods with colorful lights actually looks more futuristic in pictures but actually smells in real life. Overall it is a very interesting dining experience that you should definitely give it a shot!
Sketch is one of the most notorious and well-known afternoon tea establishments here in London, and the beautiful Gallery space makes the perfect location for tea and cakes. Sketch is the brain child of Mourad Mozouz and Pierre Gagnaire. As a destination for food, music and art over two expansive floors, Sketch is a must-visit for any Londoner.
From start to finish Sketch is an all encompassing event. The subtle sign, polite doorman and upside-down dog on the outside give very little away about the delights inside. Sketch has a variety of spaces that serve food throughout the day including The Gallery, which is decked out in the style of a 1930s tea room. Pink walls, pink chairs and delicate rose gold detailing give an air of luxury without feeling forced. In opposition the staff run around in boiler suits and Converse, which helps keep things relaxed.
The Afternoon Tea menu is classic but, of course, Sketch-a-fied. You start by selecting your choice of champagne and tea which informs the price you pay. We chose the Alain Thiènot Rosè; a delicate pink champagne served in classic saucer glasses which I loved. The champagne had a delicate, light flavour but with an intense sweetness that I associate with rosè alcoholic drinks. The bubbles were very fizzy too, which after several glasses, was most enjoyable.
For tea, I chose the puerh tea from China. Although it has a deep, dark colour the tea is actually surprisingly light. I saw a mini-documentary on how this tea is produced and have been dying to try it for so long. The flavour is a touch lemony and herby, but refreshing and gently bitter.
On an accompanying note I really loved the tea pots and cups at Sketch. As you can see they look a bit, well smashed! The crockery is dimpled and labeled which mini slogans, including a 'Forget About It' line on the inner base of the tea cup.
And onto the tea! Sketch were kind enough to bring myself and my guest two separate afternoon teas; one with nut products and one without. My plate featured their signature egg and caviar sandwiches, cucumber and ricotta sandwiches, salmon and cream cheese parcels, and a really intriguing roasted red onion option. My friend's had the addition of a mini Croque Monsieur, which came in a pretty little package with a ribbon. I'm unsure why I wasn't allowed this one, but there you go.
The egg and caviar sandwich was really interesting, though I felt that spreading the caviar may have been a more effective option. In one bite it's gone! I really liked the cucumber and ricotta option, as it was really refreshing and the intense dots of flavour on the top made the flavour more intense. I found the salmon and cream cheese parcel a touch dry but it was nice to have a different type of bread and the salmon was really rich. These sandwiches are also unlimited to you can order as many as you like.
Next we moved onto the delightful cakes. As I said Sketch were kind enough to arrange nut-free options for me. I absolutely loved the dark chocolate and macerated cherry dessert; obviously it reminded me of black forest gateaux but with an intensely rich flavour. The blueberry eclair was also really enjoyable and quite surprising as you naturally expect a chocolate option. The fruit jelly too was nice, soft and bouncy and an interesting choice for the cake plate.
Next, the top plate which instead of scones featured a vibrant and beautifully flavoured fruit tart. Dotted with cranberries, dragon fruit and kiwi this tropical delight was a great way to finish the sweet plate of cakes. The mango parfait with its tiny spoon was also really refreshing and led nicely onto our scones.
We both chose fruit scones which was drenched in apricot jam, still slightly warm and dotted with raisins. The choice of jams was fig and strawberry, both of which were home made and, frankly beautiful. The scones were really soft on the outside and a touch firm on the outside meaning they didn't fall to pieces when we added the clotted cream and jam. How do you do your scones? Mine are always cream first then jam; is that Devon or Cornwall... either way, it's really tasty.
Overall my time at Sketch was simply wonderful. The experience is indulgent without ever feeling forced, and the staff, surroundings and thoughtful details throughout the restaurant make you feel, well special. We ended our meal with a visit to Sketch's iconic toilets. Seriously they are amazing but I think we accidentally went to the men's......
Delicious food and amazing atmosphere. Even though we waited for an hour to be seated it was totally worth it. Salmon was amazing as well as chicken with ravioli. For dessert I would recommend to order a cheesecake. Cocktails are good as well, we asked the waiter to make us a passion fruit and raspberry cocktail (sweet but not too strong). The staff is friendly and it is a unique dining experience.
One look at the main menu will leave most people baffled (Rocamadour, anyone?) and I'm ashamed to admit I don't know most of the ingredients listed. One thing I do understand though, is the afternoon tea menu. At £39 per person, cheap it ain't but delicious it is! Rounds of perfectly cut sandwiches and elegantly baked cakes and scones are delivered by attentive servers who really know their jobs and appear to take pride in their product. And quite honestly, who wouldn't?
The decor is delightfully kitsch and the tea sets cute and quirky. One of the best afternoon tea spots in London and worth every hard-earned penny.
I went for High Tea to Sketch today. They have a tea room called the Pink Room which is one of the nicest tea rooms I have been to. It is fully pink from the sofas to the walls and the decor is just amazing. The bathrooms are the most creative ones I have ever seen. They are in the shape of an egg .
Like other high tea's we started with ordering Tea followed by sandwiches , Scones , macaroons and pastry.
The scones were freshly baked and just amazing. The sandwiches had quite a few choices and were pretty decent.
The macaroons were mouthwatering and so were the pastries. I loved the tart.
The staff was really polite and asked if we wanted take away as well.
Overall I would recommend going for evening tea here specially for the decor.
Sketch provides the perfect venue for me and my friends to grab a few drinks before heading out for the night. The wide variety of cocktails and the great lively crowd is what gets me the most. Saying this, one must not ignore the groovy decor that surrounds the place.
Oh and finally, the macaroons! A great source of carbohydrates and sugar to load up on energy before the start of your night!
Definitely recommend.
I feel like the sketch setting has much more to offer than the food itself. However, the setting really truly has a lot to offer.
This may be strange, but when you go to sketch, be sure to visit their bathrooms. I would tell you about them, but it's probably going to exceed your expectations, and I don't want to ruin that. The gallery where you eat is like a massive dining hall with Victorian furniture, and a style that is pretty distinct.
I had their snails as an appetiser, which was the first time I was having snails. Not a disappointment at all. The burger as the main was good, but nothing out of this world.
Sketch is an experience, and I would definitely say that for every Londoner, the sketch experience is mandatory.
Sketch is my favourite place to have a few drinks with friends. There is a great selection of cocktails and wines, perfect for a bar.
Sketch is a very large venue, however my favourite room is the Parlour right at the entrance. Despite it being quite busy, it has a nice intimate feel to it and perfect for drinks and some nice conversation.
You must check out the bathrooms, they are totally unique!
The bar is open quite late, so its possible to stay for the entire night. Sketch is a bar that everyone must visit for a great night out, a definite must see!
Sketch is an amazing restaurant if you want to try something new and innovative in London.
Ambiance: The ambiance is incredible in Sketch, the setting is incredible unique giving an experience to each customer. Seems like an odd suggestion, but you have to see the toilets, they are each individual egg shaped cubicles, something you would see in a futuristic movie!
Service: Service was good, absolutely no complaints.
Food/Drinks: As most places of this scale in London, it is definitely over priced, though I must admit it is really quite tasty. I absolutely loved the lobster bisque, arguably one of the best lobster bisques in London. The scallops were also cooked nicely and had nice flavour to them.
Value: As mentioned, I do think the food is slightly over priced, and definitely the drinks are too. However, the setting and the ambiance is so cool that it makes up for the value, and justifies the high prices.
Would I go back?: I would if I had someone visiting and I wanted to show them a neat place to eat in London, but I would not go back if it were not to show someone it. It’s the sort of place that is now checked off my list, and I do not have a big urge to return.
One of the best dinner experience in London so far. Definitely we had a first class service. They have butler service too. It is a place you can only go on special occasions or for a business dinner / lunch when you should impress your costumers. But the way they treat you is just great. You can pumper yourself by going this restaurant if you don’t bother to pay way high price. I know that will sound a bit funny but literally, they have the coolest toilet I have ever seen and I can ever imagine! :)
Sketch is one place where my friends and i always love visiting because of their sensational variety of drinks and various cocktails! The bar itself is beautifully done up and the music is always upbeat making the ambience all the better! The staff is extremely helpful and always willing to make you experiment with new drinks that they have created! As strange as this may sound, what i love about this place is possibly their egg shaped bathrooms with colourful ceilings! A place where you will find several girls (and guys sometimes!), posing for pictures next to these abstract bathrooms!
If you have never been to Sketch, you have to go.
The place has a lovely tearoom, a chic restaurant and a very unique cocktail bar. It is located in the beautiful area of Mayfair and you should be nicely dressed for the night.
The atmosphere is just unforgettable and the cocktails are exquisite. I had an avocolado which I advice to order to all the avocado lovers because is a work of art made just at Sketch.. unique as all the other cocktails on the menu. In terms of prices, you should expect to spend around 30 £ for two of their special cocktails.
I would definitely recommend going.
Sketch is a very innovative place, where you experience a unique night out… but quite expensive.
PLACE: As you can see my rating is not low, and it mostly depends on the place itself, I seriously think the design is stunning, funny... not really welcoming, it's not a place where you say "I feel like home" but for a poshy night is perfect.
FOOD: Well, apart from the giant stone in my friend's fish plate, I think generally the food is good, not excellen,t but good. Some suggestion are interesting, especially the ones very french, like fois grais courses, I would avoid the burrata one for example cause it hasn't much to say, but the chef is french so it makes perfect sense.
PRICE: Expensive, not only normal expensive but over the top expensive.
OVERALL: I would say in general is a place worth to try once but not one of my most beloved.
I can for High Tea with a group of girlfriends. The amazingly kooky fit out smacks of modern art. Sculptures line the walls, lights flash across the ceiling and when we walk into the gallery dining room artworks cover the walls from ceiling to table. The decor is incredible- it's worth visiting purely for this. The high tea is stunningly pretty with a modern twist on all the classics such as cucumber and egg sandwiches, chocolate ganache and berry tartlets. I won't give too much away but it's to die for. Unlimited refills means it's more than worth the hefty price tag. The perfect spot to take visitors to London, or to eat away the hours of a rainy Sunday afternoon.
I've had tea and cakes here. I've also tried the cocktails. A very sweet location. Lovely decor. Nice place to relax and have a natter with friends and family. I haven't tried the full afternoon experience, but it does look amazing! Would love to try the evening meal too at some point.
Was lured in here by a friend of mine who said that the desserts will blow my mind.
Everything about this place is super quirky and when you enter for the first time, you feel like you are in Wonderland. You get a peak of the bar and the Glade just before you enter the Gallery and neither of those 3 rooms have anything in common. I absolutely loved the ambience of all of them. The Gallery specifically, is so colourful and spacious, with beautiful lighting - perfect set up for a date.
We sat at the bar in the Gallery and asked for the dessert menu. The drink recommendation with every dish is a very smart move. I ended up ordering the Malabar with a Rosemary martini. The best word that I can use to describe the Malabar is “fun”. The texture was amazing - with the foam, the marshmallows and the ice cream that was already melting. The bubble gum flavour of the ice cream was a joy and so was the zingy lemon foam. Also had a bite from the Napoleon, which was a whole different mix of flavours - definitely heavier than the Malabar. Both desserts were certainly great and would happily have them again, but I wasn’t wowed.
I look forward to going back and having a normal meal there, but in the meantime, if you are looking for somewhere fun, different and relaxing to eat or drink, do check it out.
PS: don’t understand the buzz about the toilets, felt slightly claustophobic.
We were seated in the artsy room. I ordered waffles and mocha, which are really tasty. The place is very instagrammable and very artsy. Ambience and the atmosphere are perfect and the diners are so classy as well. Do not miss to visit the toilet.
We had afternoon tea at in The Gallery. All the food was wonderful - probably the best sandwiches I’ve ever had as part of a tea. The coronation chicken is amazing.
I love how all the food matches the theme of the space as well.
The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the first dish was placed down and no one told us what it was; I had to ask after.
Our friends booked us in for a double date afternoon tea. And it was delicious, being waited on like that was a fun experience. The staffs memory immaculate. Super expensive, but that comes with the whole experience and I guess the fact one room has 3 Michelin stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️
The bathroom alone is a whole experience too, beautiful white staircase leading to individual egg like pods with music on in them. Unforgettable, thank you
4.5 stars if I could. Sketch defines a dining and bar -experience-. My friend and I visited for afternoon tea and a drink in the "room" across from the main dining room afterwards. The building is spectacular beyond words and transports you to another world in a way I've never quite experienced before. The
"room" the bar was in felt like sitting in a psychedelic painting. The main dining room was beautiful and was lit exceptionally well. Enjoy taking those pics!
Service is refreshingly relaxed and friendly while still maintaining the professionalism you'd expect from this calibre of an afternoon tea. The staff here really knock it out of the park. We never had an empty pot of tea and were periodically asked if there was anything we'd like additional servings of. You'd expect it to be remarkably stuffy, but they strike a great balance between being fun and refined--not unlike how they've designed the spaces.
Food itself is plentiful (come ready to dine!) and beautifully presented. Nothing was particularly spectacular taste-wise but it was all tasty. Knocked down a star the food category since I really would expect for the entire set menu to knock my socks off. I've had better individual pastries a la carte at patisseries in my life though. That being said, the pineapple and chili cheesecake and orange Victoria sponge cake were highlights. Tea selection is broad and we loved being able to order as many as we liked.
This was a special occasion and Sketch perfectly fit the bill for a leisurely afternoon tea in what "felt" like a once-in-a-lifetime environment. Keyword "felt" as I will certainly be back someday!
Went out spontaneously for last-minute cocktails, and we didn't have to wait too long , which is a bonus. We got served and seated pretty quickly . The service was amazing, I can't fault it at all. Pretty cool vibes, thumbs up.
Had breakfast in the (apologies don’t remember the name) the lower chandelier room and was excellent. We asked when there was availability for the 3 star Michelin and they surprisingly had an opening that day. It was the best dining experience we have ever had. All the servers (especially Daniel the Sommelier) were fantastic. The price of the tasting menu is very reasonable for the amount of food you are served, although ordering off their amazing wine list is what can get you in trouble. The wine service was excellent and am sad I do not live in London as I will not be able to return anytime soon.
The location is absolutely gorgeous! From the (very famous) toilets to the dining area and the cocktail rooms.. everything was fantastic.
I was a little disappointed by the food - the portions were good for the price paid but nothing exceptional taste wise. The tartare could have been fantastic but was ruined by a huge amount of cheese/sauce. Sides (especially fries and onion rings) were very good.
Amazing service.
Sketch is definitely a must do when you're in London but I feel like it is hyped up more for the ambiance than the food. Not that the food was bad but I had high expectations from the start. Make sure to book a reservation in advance! As it's a popular spot seats fill up fast.
The inside is beautiful. With different rooms decorated in different ways it is very instagrammable. The bathrooms are especially cool. The restaurant was completely full the whole time we were there.
The service was top notch. The waiters were amazing. Always checking up on us and making sure we were taken care of. I had the beef fillet to eat which was delicious. Also had the Burgundian egg meurette and it was good as well. Our drinks were strong and delicious. I would give it 4 stars because I felt it was a little over priced but soon learned that in London everything is expensive.
So go for a cool experience, good photos, strong drinks and a unique meal.
I came with my two friends summer bank holiday Monday to celebrate my 30th birthday with afternoon tea and wow, what a celebration it was! Thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service was excellent, from start to finish. I was given a very warm welcome at reception, the receptionist spoke with me which was a lovely personal touch, our server was lovely and helpful and he provided us with extra sandwiches when asked. There was also live music in the form of three ladies with string instruments, and I was presented with a plate which ready happy birthday, safe to say that the vibes were immaculate and we will definitely be coming back in the future. I wish I could remember our servers name because he was wonderful. Thank you sketch 🩷
It was a chilly autumn night and my mom and I had dinner at the Sketch. The whole experience was majestic. Superb service, top-notch and delicate food, not to mention the famous egg-shaped restrooms. I especially loved the walls and the ceiling of the dining area. However, I peaked at the tea room as well, it had the alice-in-wonderland feel. I would love to visit again in the future.
Best service I ever experienced, delicious food and an aweinspiring interior. Excellent non alcoholic pairing with the food. Finesse with a touch of home.
I booked the Glade room to celebrate my sister’s 30th birthday and I’m glad I did so.
She was blown away.
The amazing décor, the dainty food, and the service were all superb. Beautiful attention to detail from the host who made sure we were taken care of.
This restaurant is more than just a restaurant: it’s an experience.
You are for sure paying for that atmosphere and that's okay. We had a great time! Service really took their time with our orders and what we were looking for. $$$ higher dollar amount for sure and food was good just not as good as what you were paying for. For sure had better at cheaper places.
We didn't make a reservation but managed to get a seat about 3 noon. Food and drinks were good although £20 for a bloody mary is probably the most expensive I've ever paid for. Unique furnishings make this place interesting. I have to give this place a 4stars even I don't really want to because it's overpriced.
I came here for breakfast at the Parlour.
Very pretty atmosphere, and of course one toilet were very cool, unfortunately I could not see the other because the restaurant was closed at that time. The food is ok. I recommend to take some time at the gallery, there some tricks and optical illusion in some pieces that were very interesting. I would like to come back to a afternoon tea or dinner when in London again.
Very cool afternoon tea experience. Lots of tasty little bites to try and great variety. Friendly and pleasant service and really beautiful atmosphere.
Loved the ambiance here. Called up and got a walk in for two to one or their FOUR rooms. Not the one with the 3 Michelin stars. One of the rooms had live music!
-Ambiance, design, service is all 11/10.
-They seemed to take some risks with the room that I ate at. - There was an overall lack of cohesion in the menu, but everything popped. St Petersburg fish with fennel was fantastic.
-Salad was fantastic. Wife loved it and very crunchy.
The artichoke heart dish was awesome, but struggled from a lack of balance and too much tartness from the horseradish leaves. Would probably add more sugar syrup.
-Cauliflower mac and cheese was too soupy. Had to dig in the soup for the noodles, which was not pleasant. It didn't thicken up.
-The African (or Jamaican) rice side dish was a nice contrast, very spicy and loved the plantains. However, it was too dark of a flavor and a tad too spicy. Recommend more acid and slightly less heat. Maybe some fresh lime.
-Crazy saying this, but the bread was one of the best things we ate here
-The gin/aperol drink was fantastic.
-Total was $154 incl tax/tip for two people
-oh one more thing. If you do nothing else, try going to the bathroom
An absolutely lovely experience having afternoon tea at sketch. The decor of the restaurant is incredible, every time you turn, it’s a completely different aesthetic and just as good as the last. It’s a truly maximalist’s dream. The service was impeccable, the Scottish gentleman at the front table/door was so kind. The cost of the meal is high (think easily £100 per person), however the quality of the food is top notch and worth every pence. Everything was incredibly delicious, and I left happily full. Make sure you visit the toilets, they’re truly out of this world. In my opinion, fully worth the cost and a delightful experience. I can’t wait to come back!
