Top quality food and service at this great restaurant just off Upper Street. Very impressed with the first visit, can't wait to go again!! Excellent pizza, burrata, squid, cuttlefish, polenta, salt cod and then an amazing pistachio ice cream to finish. Get the vibe; I loved it?!!

My husband and I had a lovely Pizza brunch to celebrate my birthday. Service was friendly and attentive and I was impressed that the prosecco was really bottomless as our glasses were regulary topped up. My husbands pizza was extremely good value for money and authentic tasting. I must confess I misread the Ciambotta as ciabatta but found it a lovely comforting dish and loved the texture of the walnuts in the roast pumpkin "mash". It would have been lovely served with some warm crusty bread. I really enjoyed my pineapple and marscepone pancake as it was fruity but not too sweet. We will be back if in the area .

Authentic Italian in a sophisticated, relaxed setting. Staff were very attentive and came by often to answer questions, refill wtaer, swap plates, etc. Very reasonable prices for both food (~£8-20) and the wine list. Pasta & calf liver involtino were lovely, as was the octopus ragu special. The zucchini fritti was also very tasty. Dessert is not to be missed (and everyone is quite tempting), so save room.

I first met Francesco Mazzei when I participated in a really cool cooking contest sponsored by Grana Padano. He was a judge and I was a ‘finalist’ blogger. I did not win, but I had a lot of fun, met some lovely fellow bloggers and of course, met Francesco. Since then, I’ve visited his Mayfair outpost, Sartoria, a few times and I’ve had the honour to cover it for the Identita’ Golose 2018 Restaurant guide, just published.

Opposite the Almeida Theatre, lots of greenery and a few benches mark the restaurant Almeida. The entrance is decorated with crates of fresh lemons, a lemon tree and cushioned seating. The restaurant area is spacious, clean and feels calming with its soft blue walls, brickwork and wooden furniture. There is a nice variety to the seating. Some of the bigger tables had been decorated according to the season. As it was autumn time, big bowls of pumpkins made for the centre pieces. There was a rustic homely feel to this restaurant. The music in the background was not too loud. Radici’s kitchen could be seen through the rectangular “arches”.

Food was good but not extraodinary.  We were at the discounted soft launch, but at full price it would have been a rather pricey (if boozy) dinner for two at £100 before service.  We had 500ml carafes of both the house red and white  priced at £14 each. Both were nice. Portions are small, especially relative to price..

It's a big space but some of the tables are rather close together.  Nice view of the open kitchen and decent acoustics but I found the space too warm on a fine sunny day.

My companion started with courgette flowers, which turned out to be a single courgette flower priced at £9.  It was quite tasty though.  Stuffed with herby ricotta and steamed with a sauce of anchovy and pecorino and garnished with pea shoots.  I started with seafood fregola.  This was quite soupy and tasted of bouillaibaise.  It contained one shelled mussel, rings of calamri and little cubes of octopus.  I was hoping for clams but they weren't present.  The pasta was still nice and chewy.

I had the roast king prawns with salmoriglio.  Four large prawns were £17.  The salmoriglio was lovely and I wish I had a little bread for sopping up the lovely cooking juices.  Heads were on, but bodies had been peeled.  My companion's polenta with goat ragu was tasty.  Polenta was wetter than normal, but we have only eaten polenta in northern Lombardy, and Radici is based on the southern food of Sardinia and Calabria.

We had a few vegetable sides.  I was curious about agretti, which had the texture of samphire but the flavour of spinach.  It was simply steamed and served with a wedge of lemon and a little sprinkle of bottarga.  Aubergine agrodolce was wonderfully smokey if a little underseasoned for my taste.

For dessert we shared the bergamot baba.  Very restrained dessert, being not too sweet.  Moistened with earl grey instead of rum.  Accompanying cream was only slightly sweetened.

Dinner was good, but I am not sure I would be willing to pay full price here.

Lovely spacious restaurant, attentive helpful staff and delicious fresh food. We had lamb shank with mashed potato which was very tender full of aromatic spices and pizza which was fantastic. Starters and white wine were tasty. Good portion size and reasonably priced for the area. I will definitely go again.

Food was great, they have quality products and you can feel it! My only comment would be around the noise, the space is great, big room with stone on the wall but the acoustic is terrible so it feels like you have to yell to someone close to you. I would definitely suggestions to put some acoustic foam or tile on the wall on the ceiling that would do a lot in a room like this.

Decent meal that quite nice. My burrata starter and bolognes were nice although my wife's pizza was extremely soggy. The staff were friendly. They had very appropriate PPE including masks, plastic partitions and menus accessed via huge phone.

The most delicious Italian food! Chef Mazzei and his team are amazing at taking very simple ingredients and elevate them to create amazing flavour combinations. I particularly loved the tagliolini with fresh truffle and the mozzarella with orange and fennel. Such a winning combination.

Newly opened restaurant where the old almeida restaurant used to be. Very relaxed environment and interior. Excellent service and very very incredible southern Italian dishes. Oh and the toilets have really good artwork in them!

Italian restaurants abound on Upper Street but this stands out for its quality and value for money. There is a short but excellent menu with mostly southern Italian items. The grilled seafood was the night’s standout dish, but the pizza and cuttlefish fritti were not far behind.

A pleasant lunch on Sunday. The food was good in particular the the Tuna tartare. My husband enjoyed a Tiramisu that was excellent. Service was friendly and professional. The fact that our miniature pup was allowed to come was very helpful and an added bonus.

Great Italian food and the pizza is to die for. We had burrata for starter and tuna tartarre with avocado. The freshness of the products make a great place do dine in. Definetely a gem to visit.

Very tasty Italian food, friendly service. Inside a bit noisy but the restuarant has just opened so I am sure they will find a solution to that. Food is excellent so it wouldn't stop me going there again! Don't hesitate to go! The atmosphere/deco/large windows are really nice too.

One of the nicest meals out I’ve had in a long time. Pasta was cooked to perfection, flavours were perfect - particularly the ragu. Great service. Nice atmosphere, not too loud or noisy like some reviews had previously stated. Will definitely go back.
