Can't rate you highly enough thanks to your staff and food combo. A group of five hungry cold London birthday friends descended on your shoreditch venur late of a saturday evening, and your front staff Chantelke and waiting crewJoni were our gourmet angels guides. Joni also made sure your chef accommodated all our weird and wonderful dietary needs. The flaming chicken was a bonus for my meat eating friends! Fabulous underground comfy retreat from the beast of the east!

I went for lunch with friends at Red Rooster on Sunday and it was a great experience. When I arrived I wasn't too sure where the right entrance was but the Conceirge at The Curtain pointed me in the right direction. Its the entrance with the Louis Vuitton colour print on the glass door for future reference. The hostess took me down to the lower ground where the restaurant was and my initial first thought that it was quite dark but I guess thats the atmosphere they're going for. The host led me to the garden area where my friends and I had reserved at table. This area is bright as it has a glass window ceiling (which I personally preferred). The brunch / lunch menu isnt extensive but really nice options and the prices are very good. We ordered the Cornbread, Chicken & Waffles and Mac & Greens. When the food arrived, we was impressed at how swiftly they delivered it and the food was great. We left feeling very full. We was a little concerened that the portions may be small but we couldn't more delightfully wrong. They also had a live gospel group which was a nice touch for a Sunday afternoon. The lady looking after our table was very friendly, approachable and accommodating. We loved the staff aprons with the african print design on them. We'll definitely be coming back. Great!!!

Went into the bar for a drink on Sunday, after a heavy night before :) Service was great, lighting good and to my absolute delight they had an afternoon of live music performed by The House Gospel Choir! Fantastic afternoon, cold beer and great music...

Ambience and decor is pretty, rustic industrial vibe with live music. We ordered; chicken n waffle ( recommended by waitress however chicken was dry over cooked, really crispy and not in the good way), chicken shake (much better cooked juicy chicken, quite a big serve but FYI doesn’t come with anything else), so we also got chips and salad (which were both pretty decent). House white wine was lovely. Spent about £70 altogether and was nice dinner overall but not sure I’d rush back.

LOVE the red rooster in NY so I decided to give this London version a try. It's good - especially for London standards - but not super great like the original in Harlem. Nonetheless, service was polite & fast, food was tasty with good portions for the mains. Our table had the burger, fried chicken, corn bread, chicken & waffle, & the Mac & cheese bites. I really enjoyed the Mac & cheese - it had a sweet & savoury-ness to it. The corn bread was also nicely baked - moist & fluffy.

Much vaunted NY restaurant comes to town like we needed more fried chicken joints. Turns out to be one of the better ones! The whole chicken is more rotisserie roasted, not deep fried, so much less greasy and succulent. It comes out with sparklers, a bit of showmanship that startled the baby in a most hilarious way. The appetisers were fine but nothing that special, so just come for the chicken. Interior was a mix of speakeasy + Shoreditch chic + quite striking photographic art pieces.

Nice fried chicken and other first course dishes. The atmosphere is nice cool and modern. Nice staff and services. Bathroom is unisex. They also have a live band playing.

We went here having heard great stories about the NYC restaurant. Had a little drink in the bar before going to our table. We ordered a corn bread to share as a starter and a fried chicken and waffles. The corn bread was a tiny bit dry but very tasty, they don't give you a great deal of butter so don't be shy to ask for more if you find the same! For the main we shared the Obama ribs, after all that is what they're famous for! These were really tasty and more than enough for two people. We ended up taking home about a third of it in a doggy bag! At 8.30 the music started up. This was really nice and added a nice atmosphere to the place. Service on the whole was very efficient and staff were always quick to notice if we needed something or needed another drink!

Good Decor. Lovely service. The food was decent (chicken was a bit cold by the time we ate it as they bring it out with a sparkler, then take it back to cut up and bring it back out again). They added £1 to bill for charity without asking.

The food was great - I had the devilled eggs to start and the Yard Bird as a main. The chicken was fried perfectly and the Red Rooster sauce was a great accompaniment. The live music was also very good and added a lot to the atmosphere of the place.

Awesome vibe! It really did remind me of being in NYC, but with a bit of a London twist! Live music/DJ were awesome, the chicken was mouth-watering and my cocktail (Frozita) with *glitter* in it was the icing on the cake! Loved it! Perfecttttttt for a low-key date, as the ambience isn't intense - just good food and good music and everyone's happy! I hope this new restaurant doesn't change as it gets more and more popular with time. Oh! And you can't miss the Chicken & Waffle! Delectable.

So so good. Great atmosphere but the food here is the star. The fried chicken is perfect and the meat on the Obama ribs is ridiculously tender. Deep fried breaded Mac and cheese? Yes please. Will 100% come back.

Good service. Good food. Large portions. Grilled prawn taco is a must try. Yard bird (photo) is good, but very heavy!! Live music at the venue too, pretty cool. Bit hard to find the restaurant however.
