The staff here is very friendly and ambience is nice. Food is good, not amazing. However for the amount it comes i think it is positive. I ordered the 2 courses Sunday roast. I wish it was less food with higher quality, specially the meats. As for the rest i was shocked with 10 pounds charge for extra bread... it was good but ridiculous expensive. Also the wine is just good, not worth the high price. All considered, just go for a solid Sunday roast if you are super hungry. Paid 120 pounds for 2 with 500mL wine and 2 coffees.

Food was great but felt we have been to places that had highly quality food. But overall we still relate enjoyed our meal and the steak and oyster pie was amazing. I’m not sure I’ll add oyster in next time as I find the pie itself was tasty and didn’t really went well with the oyster taste. The dessert was really refreshing and perfect after a very meat heavy main meal.

Rather intimate restaurant tucked away near Spitalfields renowned for its steak and oysters. Staff were very friendly and service was quick. We got a reservation that evening though I imagine that would be unlikely later in the week (we went on a Monday). Food was hot and tasty. Good choice of wine too. It is quite expensive (as you might expect). Good for a special occasion or a rare treat.

We had a lovely meal at hix oyster and chop house. Went for a crispy squid starter to share and then the porterhouse steak between two of us. This was more than enough for two people so much so that we had leftovers which the waitress was more than happy to package up for us. Speaking of which the packaging up was great as she vacuum packed it for us so that it kept fresh to the next day! Restaurant is nicely laid out, we went in early January though so was relatively quiet as you would expect.

Classy decor and fantastic food. Selected Oysters are £1.25 each between 4 -7pm on weekdays. Fantastic value! Mains are generously portioned although sides are recommended. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with polite and joyful staff.

Delicious steak and wine. Oyster is alright (although the happy hour deal is a good one). Service is nice but not as attentive as you’d expect from a high quality restaurant. The garden salad on the side was rather disappointing. Otherwise, generally enjoyable.

My last meal in London for a while and we decided to do something special that we'd remember. Hix Oyster & Chop House did not disappoint! Started with a trio of oysters, cocktails, a sublime burrata and pork crackling strips. Faultless. Then the enormous Porterhouse arrived. There was also wine, puddings and wonderful service. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in London. Great for a date, good friends or when you want to impress a food lover.

Very good food and attentive service. The oysters are just so fresh and tasteful. The steaks and escalope are very good too. Amazing wine selection, and good desserts!

Loved the Christmas feast sharing menu. Felt like a real banquet with whole stuffed chicken platters to share spread along the table. Hix' s take on Eton mess also fine with cranberries and meringue sticks.

OMG. Just the most amazing team. We we're there for 6+ he's. Cockles, oysters, porterhouse steak, red deer and lashings of frou frou drinks. We great locavore food meets the most convivial care. Thanks so much Hix crew! You made my reunion with my g-ddaughter a magic experience!

We couldn't be more stunned by the rock oysters and porterhouse steak, absolutely delicious. Mark, the Galician waiter is one of the most professional, kind and attentive people I've ever seen in my 37 years going to restaurants.

Valentine's day dinner at Hix tonight - albeit on my own. Dinner was wonderful and those looking after me (Marc, Adonis, Egla, Maria and the newly arrived Lucia) amazing as always, even after a long, tough day, at least certainly for them. If you get there before the next change of menu try the mallard salad!

Absolutely beautiful steak! A little pricey...but delicious! Came for Saturday lunch with some friends. Restaurant was quiet so we had a choice of table. Service was great. Our waiter was friendly and knew his stuff. Between us we ordered fillet steaks on the bone and the steak and oyster pie. Not a crumb left on any of our plates. The potato cakes are definitely worth a mention - crisp and delicious. Will visit again soon.

This was a tasty surprise for me. Honestly do not expect to find a really tasty steak in London as my American palate for Beef usually leads me wanting. However, this steak was SUPERB! Also had a roast chicken as well as very wonderful apple pie with custard for dessert. Not a super fancy interior but the service and food was just wonderful. I will try to find this place the next time I am in London for a trip.

I was quite surprised by this place, even tough it already has great reviews. It's a meat place that complements their excellent cuts with some really good quality seafood and create mixed dishes that really work. I did not taste the oyster as it's not really my things but the rest of the seafood was one of the best and freshest I had in London and their meat is cooked beautiful. Add to that a small French style house and a good selection of drinks makes this a must visit
