Arang used to do excellent panjeon which was a regular staple every visit. A panjeon is a Korean pancake which should be crunchy on its exterior with a contrasting chewy centre. Yet, this panjeon was just oily, and lacked the distinct textures that usually make it so enjoyable.

My favourite starter is Yukwhe (seasoned raw beef strips with egg yolk and sliced pear, photo above). The waiter usually mixes all the ingredients in front of you. At Arang , the beef strips were served a little (just a little) frozen.

Background: After our recent experience at Leong's Legend , I thought that my brother and I should avoid Chinatown for our next meal out. We used to eat quite a lot of Korean barbecue when we lived in Beijing over a decade ago, and as we're both meat fana

This little Korean restaurant is a place I would highly recommend for Korean barbecue food. They also serve some good makgeoli . Another must try are the kimchi pancakes .
The food was worth the price . It's a nice homely place with good staff and quick service .

arang offers great choice of Korean food. If you are unsure about what to pick just go for barbecue meat serves with lettuce and variety of spiced, it is just a delight. Get a bottle of Soju and you are done! Bon appétit !

The first thing I noticed about Arang is that its name reminded me of our favourite orange primate from the Jungle Book. There - now you have an idea of just how experienced I am when it comes to Korean food and dining...

We were seated on a nicely laid table and the staff were very flexible when 2 extra people turned up to dine with us (I didn't know who they were either...) and they quickly and efficiently added an extra table like these people were always meant to sit with us. I must take away marks though because the table was too narrow and I had to slouch in order for my shoulders to not be resting on those of the lady sat next to me... that would have been awkward because I had only met her once before. I'm not exactly a bodybuilder either so I'm sure other fully-grown men have also faced this problem.

I can't tell you what we ordered either, because where I'm from Asian food mainly consists of chow mein and fried rice, so my more experienced and worldly friends navigated the menu and ordered a variety of meat and some boiled rice to go with it. Wait don't go! I've added a photo so you can see what I had.

The service was great (I think... again it's new to me). The waitresses tended to our food making sure there was "enough" for everyone and that they were only served when correctly cooked. As a former waiter from the gourmet bourgeois establishment that is Pizza Hut, I appreciated how difficult it would be to provide this level of service, mostly because I could barely multitask between serving the unlimited refills, making sure the children didn't draw on the tables and finding more cutlery after our stingy clientele took theirs home as a souvenir. Anyway I digress....

Pros: tasty food, attentive service.
Cons: tiny seating space, drinks too expensive, not enough food (the last 2 are probably because I'm one of those annoying fatties who is both gluttonous and stingy.)

Would I recommend?: Yeah why not! I can't compare it to other Korean restaurants yet but it was good food.

Arang does some really good korean dishes... from the starters such as Yukwhe ( Korean equivalent to steak tartare), Jubche (grass noodles stir fried) or even beef broth with beef dumplings.. packs full of flavour and hits the right note for a true korean taste..

Besides starters, their barbecue are also good... korean bbq offers different types and cuts of meat, from the ribs to the sirloin.. marinated or just lightly seasoned,

eating with their sides dishes or fresh vegetables or bean paste is delicious..

The place was amazing. The crew assisted us until we got our table set up. All crew was amazing and accommodating. The food was all amazing especially Jjampong. Food servings are all good for sharing. Waiters explained the menu well and will help you choose the best deal for food. Definitely will go back to your restaurant.

What can I say. To get halal meat/beef in London not that difficult but when thing not according to your plan, you make do and end up at this shop. Great service by the server (Malaysian chap). He studied in the UK and part time working here. He is very attentive to us and explain the necessary and even better tell us what else we should go etc. Food was nice, nothing fancy but taste was great of course cannot compare to the original Korean dishes and presentation look nice too. The rest of my parties also enjoyed the food. Recommended if you’re nearby and desperate to eat halal meal.

This was my favourite restaurant that I had visited in 2023. The food was absolutely impeccable with portions of food given in perfect amounts. The food was delicious and so elegant,. Such a tidy place, layout and the atmosphere was good too. A meal for 2 would serve 3 people easily as we had so much food left over. I would recommend going to this restaurant for a special day out. Try out new flavours, enjoy the great ambiance and leave more than just satisfied.

Went with a big group of people and the experience was really great. The food was delicious and I tried new things I’ve been looking forward to like naengmyeon which was interesting and I really liked the taste of it and the tangsuyuk (chicken). The food is also halal so it’s inclusive for everyone. The service was good and we were all attended to throughout, and the restaurant had a nice ambiance. I’ll definitely be going again as the menu had so many good options.

The food is delicious and well priced for the amount and for London prices. Service is good, although not always the quickest. The atmosphere is very nice and cooling for the summer days. They offer many different foods in the menu which is good. Recommend making a reservation - even if it may not be busy as it gets full quickly during meal times (especially dinner).

Dined in here on Monday and I absolutely loved it! I’ve always wanted to go for a Korean barbecue and my wish definitely became true! It is a really fun experience! This restaurant has lovely and tasty food, came out super quick, warm, and delicious! We got quite a few dishes and all of them were really good :) The highlight for me was the baby squid and the glass noodles. Glass noodles are an absolute must! The texture is unique and addictive, I could go and have two bowls of only that! The beef and pork on the barbecue can be as crispy, as rare, as whatever you want. As much as the lovely ladies in there come to cut it up and cook it for you, you can also have control over what your meat is doing on there :) The service is a bit slippery however, we got lucky with our lovely waitress Hagyeong, as she was super attentive, caring, spent so much time at our table making sure we get the right experience. She was lovely! We were served by 4 people total, out of which she, and the lady who took our order, seemed to be the only ones to truly care. Hagyeong is definitely the one who saved so much of our experience so thank you for that! She needs a pay raise haha!

It was a great experience. The food was a bit on the expensive end, but at central London, you can't really complain. However, the quantity of the food was quite proportionate and justified to its price tag. The taste of the food was very authentic Korean, and I must recommend having a live BBQ station for sure. The staff were really friendly as they patiently helped us through the menu for Halal requirements. Make sure you have a booking if you're going at busy periods. There is a nice park outsider too where we waited till it was our time for the reservation. What a great night, Kudos to Aranag and co.!!

The food was really good and I was served by Jina. It was authentic Korean food, (one of the best Korean food in London) and Jina recommended me the BBQ and Seafood pancake. The service was really good and Jina was really nice. I will definitely come back again.

Went here for the first time as relative newbies to Korean food and absolutely loved it. The menu is huge and slightly intimidating but our server (YoonPin? sorry if I got the name wrong!) was truly excellent and really guided us through what to order very patiently. The resulting meal was very tasty indeed and we'll certainly be back. Top marks!

It took me a while to choose a korean bbq restaurant but i’m so glad I chosed this one!!! Price it’s okay we were two people and we ordered two mains, 2 types of beef and a drink, we spent 65£. Service was 10/10 every single waiter came to check if everything was good and they helped us to use the bbq. Food was amazing we ordered two types of noodles which were really good but unnecessary cause the beef was a lot!! Had to take the noodles away. We chosed beef bulgogi (n85) and beef brisket (n98). They even offered us kimchi, misu soup, lettuce and some veggies and taught us how to eat properly 😂 I’ll definitely go back again!!!

Delicious and filling. Visited twice with no booking and each time they were able to fit in a slot for us. (I recommend getting reservations because we had 1hr to eat which was really 30 mins after ordering and waiting.) Affordable food with a lot of variety and portions! Brilliant place to eat out with friends and even enough food to take home as leftover. Highly recommend going!

Bustling, clean and great tasting korean food! Comes with 3 complimentary nibble dishes including kimchi as is standard with most korean restaurants. Each main ~£13. Bootle beer is £4.60. Seafood pancake, a favourite of mine (and for benchmarking Korean restaurants), was really good here. All dishes were true to your standard Korean offering. Highly recommended

didn’t expect to have the three small dishes including kimchi at a Korean restaurant London (had to order kimchi extra most of the times) a large plate of garlic, white kimchi and radish salad almost felt like restaurant in Korea. also liked the steamed pork and fried little octopus very much, but if you are new to Korean spicy food it might be too much

I had lunch with my friend and her 1-year-old baby. The restaurant was fully air conditioning and fairy clean. The food portion sizes were generous, and they tasted delicious and pretty authentic. Especially I can give 5 stars to the cabbage Kimchi. Last but not least, I do appreciate a good service the waitor and waitress gave us. They were very attentive and kind as well as sensible. As we had a baby, we requested several requirements. They satisfied our expectation more than enough. I will visit there again, and their lunch deal was amazing , so I truly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

The most satiating Halal Korean spot - honestly! The H3 Special Bulgogi was an absolute hit, enough for 3 people to share for a filling meal. We also ordered the classic Japchae with beef as an accompaniment - highly recommend. Try their rice and cinnamon punch for a wholesome Korean experience
