The food here is amazing and the service too. The food has never let me down here. From cocktails to even your everyday drinks it's always good to come back here.
This place is right outside Westfield mall in Stratford so perfect place to be after you are done with your shopping :) most of the meat served here is #halal and my favourite is the rib eye steak that is so rich in flavours and is perfect with their spicy cabana sauce. Try this place . It won't disappoint :D
Cabana is a really good Brazilian restaurant situated outside the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford.
I have been there several times and I ate some typical Brazilian dishes as starters such as cheesy baked dough balls, toasted corn nuts, cassava chips, spicy malagueta chicken wings and croquettes.
I am a very big fan of the spicy malagueta chicken and the picanha beef burger. I also tried the ribeye steak, really good and tasty.
Cocktails are amazing, above all the classic caipirinha, they are quite fast and the staff is friendly.
It is always busy, especially the weekend and I can understand why!
Cabana Brasilian Barbecue has a few locations around London. The one I visited is located at Westfield Stratford City’s Chestnut Plaza, which boasts the advantage of two outdoor terraces. Whilst Cabana retains the Portuguese spelling of Brazil (that’s Brasil with an ‘s’), it is not a typical Brazilian restaurant, although the flavours and ingredients are indeed Brazilian. In my opinion, this is a good thing as the menu offers up some fresh, decent Brazilian-inspired fare that appeals to a wide segment of the population.
Had been here last evening for a Brazilian dinner... Had spicy chkn n zinger chkn.
They were gab n unique in their own ways....
The interior is lovly.. Again that vintage look
I went to Cabana recently. Not always the biggest portion size for thd amount paid but the food is favoursome. Nice decor and good service 4/5.
Cabana - Brasilian Barbecue is located in center of Westfield shopping center in Stratford City. It's interior is very original, unexpected especially that you are coming inside straight from a freezing, grey, London docks. You walk into a warm interior with colourful lights that create nice moody ambience. It made me feel like in some tropical destination, without the overbearing humidity. I like the system, you order your drinks (REFRESCOS), STREET FOOD, SIDES & SALADS and your friendly waitresses with SKEWERS walking around offer you different dishes as long as your coaster is on green side, if you don't want anyone to bother you for a while just simply turn the coaster to red side. Skewers are also divided into four colours and the price depend on them: Green Skewers (£3.39), Blue Skewers (£4.50), Yellow Skewers (£5.45) and Orange Skewers (£5.95) per portion / two pieces in most cases. Pictured above Sweetcorn Pamonhas (£3.35) arrived as sweetcorn steame
Ok so I've never actually ever eaten any Mexican food at this place (why would I, when Wahaka is just around the corner?), but mid interview preparation I just had to indulge in the peanut butter froyo, superfluously topped with passion fruit sauce (I think they might have scrapped this from the menu now).
Judge me if you will, but I genuinely believe that I wouldn't have gotten the job without it!
The area of Stratford has gone through a massive transformation since the Olympics, Westfield is along with its shops as a lot of Halal restaurants to choice from, from the food court to the eateries that you can find outside in the mini street town. Among the restaurants is Cabana and Brazilian style BBQ restaurant with a very similar look a feel to Wahaca, which just happened to be next door.
I came here on a Monday evening with a friend - I already knew that Cabana served Halal Chicken only, but it was also on tasecard which means 2 for 1 discount which is always a plus. The restaurant is colourful and has a very laid back casual atmosphere, staff where friendly and we were looked after.
So, lets talk about the food. For Starters I went for the Spicy Malagueta Prawns, 5 grilled Atlantic prawns in a spicy Malagueta sauce, this was a really nice dish, my favourite of the night. For me; tasty food is spicy and full of flavours. The prawns where juicy and big and I really liked the sauce they were marinated in. My friend ordered the Salmon Ceviche, Glad it was him that ordered it as it wasn't as good as my lovely Prawns.
So the "main" dish on the menu is the BBQ. Meat is skewered and cooked on the BBQ in the middle of the restaurant. I went for the Malagueta Chicken, the food is served off a skewer that is brought from the BBQ to your plate. The Chicken was nicely cooked through, soft and tender, though it didn’t have the same kick of spice as the Prawns. I was a bit disappointed to find that all I got was just 4 pieces of BBQ chicken and some red peppers. I was hoping for maybe something to accompany the dish, like a side salad or something. Speaking of a lack of extras, you also have to PAY for sauces which is a bit cheeky, one sauce is .95p or any 3 for £1.95, and really, you get around a table spoon which is just not enough. My friend went for the Beirut (sounds Brazilian, right?) Which was a toasted Syrian flatbread filled with spicy Malagueta chicken, salad, chilli mayo and melted cheese.
They had a decent range of Desserts, I opted for a Brazilian Chocolate cake, it was rich, dense and I liked the presentation, thumbs up for me.
Drinks I had a Cool Colada, Fresh pineapple blended with coconut cream, coconut water and a hit of citrus and loads of crushed ice, in fact a bit too much for my liking, it felt like a slush after a short while.
Cabana is a very casual eatery, with good atmosphere and friendly staff, the Halal Chicken is bonus, however I was left a little empty in the stomach with the main, not enough meat. Would I come here again? Yes I would, but without a tastecard I think it’s a bit overpriced.
--- Updated to 3.5 - New items added on menu
Well, i went again on 23 June 2014, and they have added new items along with a brilliant new sauce. I ordered BBQ wings and a 12oz Rib Eye Steak.
I love Cabana, the decor is beautiful, the staff are great and the food is fantastic. I had the house caesar salad, and it was the best salad I've ever had, so delicious! I also enjoyed my honey berry cocktail. Would love to visit again sometime. ❤️
Nice atmosphere. Good quality of food. They have an open kitchen where you can see what they are doing 😅. All nice and clean. The only thing that I would improve is the portions and include the side to the hamburger for that price.
What a little gem. This was a well needed, quality restaurant with a difference. I would recommend trying something new here but myself and my 6 yr old grandson were very tired n hungry n this really hit the spot. 1 course each with drinks n finished in around 30 mins. Try their own pop drink too. I had one of their stews and was very impressed. Service 1st class too. Just was quiet but again this helped me to be honest
Good food, I recommend the grilled menu. Went during discount which is very worth it. Slightly pricey if eating at original price given the portion size but the food taste good
We had a nice experience, the food was fine and the drinks were nice. Strangely the website showed it was fully booked, but we turned up as a walk-in and there were plenty and tables available, and were seated immediately, so not sure why that was.
Very good quality food and service..
The atmosphere is great as cuba is..
Many different type of dishes from CUBA to choose from burgers to grills..
I test a burger special and was very good quality..
I will recomend this place for large groups and families..
Great food and great service. Ordered a few dishes to share and they were delicious.
I would recommend going here if you go to Westfield Stratford.
£30 for two courses plus free cocktail was pretty good actually. Only visiting so not used to Capital prices. Food was good and delivered quickly considering restaurant was full. Only one small gripe really. Menu says rice and fries with every main. Four of us were given two of each between us. Waitress couldn't get her head around the fact that we each should have had the same. Didn't push it any further- like I say, a small gripe. Would eat there again though.
Went in for food and I have to say the food was amazing. Both myself and my wife were seated by Robyn who made us feel welcome and was attentive to our needs. Considering how busy they were the food was served in good time and again the food had so much good flavour it was great. Being a good cook you always worry about eating out and the same old, same old but they've put a great spin on classic food with their own spices and sauces.which blended so well on the old taste buds. Great food and serve deserves a great review and here it is.
The X-Burger was really tasty and cooked perfectly. I recommend adding the guava barbecue bacon too. Lots of people were having the burger so that says something for the quality.
The cassava was a bit disappointing. Great crispness to them but no significant seasoning so they were bland.
Me and my family enjoyed our meals.
The restaurant is nicely presented but the staff were a bit inattentive.
Great place to dine outside, in the sun, on a summer's day. I had an amazing experience here and I loved every minute. I would totally recommend this place. I just have to say that staff were slow and a little unresponsive, but it could have been because I was on my own and they thought I wouldn't bring in too much money. Anyway, all in all food was really nice and the drinks were really good too. I would come again!
Great place for dinner. Happy hour is very good, £5 per cocktail. The food was very nice.
Despite the bad experience from yesterday on Cabana O2 we decided to come at Stratford.
Nice service and very attentive
Food was great as usual here in stratford.
Thank you team Stratford
We did not try the food but the "happy hour" was fantastic and our waitress, Inga, was absolutely stellar; thank you. We definitely will revisit to have a meal and a full experience!
