Have been here several times over the last few years, and the food is always amazing. Great choices of hot or cold, cakes and wraps as well as hot meals and salads. Plenty of veg options and wine/beer as well as tea/coffee. Gets super busy so get there early. Stunning Victorian tea room decor with amazing tiles and fireplaces and statuary. The museum is free to enter so you can just go in for a meal. Food is top notch and prices comparable to other places in the area.

The Victoria and Albert Museum have come up with the most civilised way to spend your Sunday afternoon, with a traditional Victorian Afternoon Tea, which will launch on 13th November, and will be served in the beautifully decorated Morris Room, the historic interior which was part of the V&A’s original Refreshment Rooms.

Amazing place to have breakfast or just drink a cup of tea. Have some nice gluten free options and eating in the court yard during the nice weather was an added pleasure.

What a beautiful setting to go for tea! The V&A is one of my favorite museums, and as there is no entrance fee, you can just pop in here for a rather fancy cuppa. They have a wide selection of food, which looked very appetising, particularly the giant colourful meringues. The tea was enjoyable and there was plenty of seats in their grand dining hall. I would definitely return, even if I wasn't purposefully visiting the museum.

There are few eateries in London as majestic and aesthetically beautiful as the V&A cafe. It is perfectly commonplace to see patrons pause mid-mouthful just to gaze at the ceiling. The cafe offers reasonably priced cakes, wraps, salads, and warm meals that can be enjoyed in one of several, opulently decorated dining rooms. It also has an outdoor section in the inner quadrangle, so in warm weather, I recommend taking the opportunity to catch some rays by the fountain.

The V&A is not only one of the greatest museums in London, where you can enjoy free of charge some of the most beautiful pieces of art ever, but it has one of London's most delighting tea rooms as well!

Located behind the main courtyard and accesible through a relatively anonymous museum cafe, the historical tearoom welcomes museum goers with its high vaulted ceilings, green tiled walls and its centrepiece piano. Engraved columns and large round tables finish the setting, giving it a truly out-of-time feeling.

Food and drinks selection is quite varied, with salads, sandwiches and hot meals at lunchtime, but the main reason for me to come is the afternoon tea. Choose from a nice selection of teas and hor drinks, then loose yourself on the cakes counter, where you can choose between traditional scones with jam&butter, muffins, brownies, carrot cakes and much more. My personal favourite is the lemon drizzle cake, which is moist and zesty as nowhere else.

This is definitely a nice place where to come for tea and cakes, not only if you are visiting the museum. It could actually be a nice excuse to force yourself to come for a visit!

A great selection of savoury and sweet, I definitely recommend stopping here for a bite if you're visiting the museum! I would recommend choosing the hot food option that's made fresh, some of the other food choices have been left on the display and it shows.

Not to be missed is the V&A stunning cafe with frescoes, stained windows and great food options. Had tasty scone with clotted cream & jam & cappuccino - can't get better when surrounded by such ornate beauty. Great way to rest your feet after browsing the amazing collections here.

A very nice place to go for tea and coffee, including light lunches. The interior of this cafe is stunning, especially the main hall, seating is comfortable, prices are reasonable, coffee is very good, and staff are friendly. Very clean here, definitely a really nice place to come for afternoon tea, morning coffee. I'll definitely be coming back soon.

I decided that @vamuseum would be the museum of this London trip instead of the other big and famous ones. Saw a few good reviews of their cafe and it was indeed very beautiful! The cake was nice and not a bad price for a museum, but most importantly it was so nice to sit and enjoy tea time and the extraordinary interior after walking around for hours.

A wonderful cafe located inside V&A museum. The cakes are not sweet and you will definitely feel relaxed after a cup of tea or wine.

I haven't tried all the scones in London but at least among the places I've been to, The V&A cafe serves the best scone. Really decent atmosphere inside. It's quite packed on the weekends afternoon so recommend you visit early on the weekdays and enjoy cream tea.

Such a beautiful location for a cafe, there really is nothing like sitting in that beautiful room! However I found the chocolate muffin to be incredibly dry, and I wouldn’t have it again. Would probably just stick to the tea

We had the pleasure of dining at lunchtime on Sunday at the world's oldest museum cafe. What a delight! The food was superb, fresh, healthy, tasty and freshly prepared. Fabio, the maitre de, was professional and efficient and supprtive of his staff. We felt very comfortable and welcomed in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The decor was so beautiful and stunning set in the 1860s. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and cannot say more about how wonderful Fabio was and the experience of dining at the V&A museum cafe. Fabulous! The cafe is a work of art and a must see for visitors to London and the V&A

Great coffee in superb surroundings but the service was so s l o w. They were not at all organised and this was frustrating, many mutterings in the queue!

Just afternoon coffee but delicious cakes, scones etc, good selection and well presented. Average price at 3.95. Lose a star for no obvious vegan labelling and maybe no vegan choice. Coffee was good. Staff seemed little disorganised but young and maybe still in training. Pleasant though. No outside possible due to wasps. Cafe was excellent, clean and well spaced, comfortable seats. Pianist made our day.

My wife’s niece brought my wife, our younger daughter and I here for an afternoon tea on Friday, Nov 11, 2022. While the ambience was distinctly different, there weren’t any paradox of choices on food and drinks. I made use of the very friendly free WiFi to write this review.

Self service with different counters for hot drinks and food. Delicious salads are served as an accompaniment to various options such as wraps, crab tart, etc usually with 2 combination salads from a choice of 4. Everything looks healthy, fresh and interesting. There are also slab cakes, cheese or fruit scones and choices such as cream and jam. There are 2 side rooms with magnificent stained glass windows and highly decorated walls and pillars, as well as modern corridor seating.

Lovely place for afternoon tea. The scones of the V&A cafe are the best I’ve ever had. They are a must to try if going to the museum. You may be able to experience a live piano performance as there is one in the middle of the tea room
