Myself and my Fiancè booked B&V for Sunday Roast. We were not dissapointed.. The Table water arrives in a Beautiful jug filled with Mint, cucumber, Strawberries and Lemon. Once seated sourdough bread with balsamic and Olive oil is brought to your table, a very nice touch.
We had the piri piri prawns and calamari for starter. The prawns were full of flavour and had a hit of chilli, they were flavoursome and not stingy on portions.
The Calamari was tender and went well with the garlic mayonnaise, again enjoyable and a decent sized portion.
We went for the Gloustershire Black Spot Pork and Welsh Leg of Lamb.
The pork I have to say was out of this world.. cooked to perfection. The crackling was perfect.. and again a decent sized portion. Yorkshire pudding was very well executed, Roast potatoes very tasty, crispy on outside and fluffy in the middle.
Vegetables which consisted of runner beans, carrotts, broccoli were al dente which is the way I prefer my vegetables. The roasted parsnip was very nice too.
The Lamb in my opinion was a little over cooked but in no way spoilt the flavour. The Gravy went down a treat and overall we were pleasantly surprised as we have now found a great resturant which is on our doorstep.
We had a great bottle of white wine which was very reasonably priced. The waiters were on point and were very attentive and very friendly.
I haven't written such a positive review in a while but I have to say there were no negatives. I can thoroughly recommend this resturant.
This restaurant has developed into an amazing one with fine cuisine. I go there so much, the food is just amazing, especially the goats cheese and vegetable starter and mushroom ravioli, so delicious. And the passion fruit mojito is to die for. The manager was very accommodating to my request for a window seat even though the table was for 4 and we were only 2.
A great place to enjoy a delicious meal served to you by helpful and friendly staff! Will definitely return and recommend to friends.
Fabulous food. Highly recommended! Service was good and lots of choice on the menu. Our group had a selection of starters and steak, lamb cutlets, swordfish and Seabass and king prawns for mains Every dish was amazing.
Always a great meal, new dishes on the menu mmm try the crispy duck and watermelon to start
Lovely menu choices, prices good, lovely ambience and the food, wine and service was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

For you if it’s a xmas do or dining out dow two the staff are always accommodating .
Always have a lovely time at B & V
Great food. Friendly staff. Would recommend it to all my friends.
My second visit to this restaurant. I returned because my first visit was fabulous and my second didn't disappoint. The food was fantastic and on par with the great service. We were there for a birthday celebration and everyone commented on how good it was.
An absolutely fantastic restaurant to visit! Very friendly staff offering a great service, wonderful food and a lovely cocktail menu. I can't wait to revisit
Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, beautifully presented food and a chocolate brownie to die for
Always happy to return at B&V ! We had a fantastic evening, the food was delicious, top quality ingredients , and the staff very attentive! Overall a very positive experience!
A busy Saturday evening. The food was absolutely delicious. My only criticism was that the service was a little too efficient, and quick. We would have liked to enjoy our aperitif before the starter arrived, and had time to consider the wine list. In total we were there 1.5 hours which isn't long to consume 3 courses although we did linger over coffee. Top marks if the service had been a little more relaxed, but the staff were lovely.
I have been here on several occasions. Each time Ive had a different experience. It's a busy bustling restaurant that has been popular since the day it opened. My family and I went there on Sunday for lunch. The restaurant was busy and quite loud! We were placed beside the open kitchen. We were given menus and left to it. After awhile we asked if we could order a drink! We were gasping!! We made our choices, the waiter came and my poor mum had a hard time in ordering. Everything she wanted they no longer had! I found this unacceptable, if a restaurant has run out of certain items on the menu, salmon, chicken to name a few you should be told on arrival when given your menu. However, the food we did order, and thoroughly enjoyed it. My prawn pil pil was delicious and hot. My mums soup was huge and very tasty she said.
This restaurant is clearly popular within the area, however I do believe they have a few issues to iron out, if they want to stand out in the crowd.
A couple of friends suggested this restaurant. Happy they did. Lovely place in a lovely area! We had a Sunday lunch and we really enjoyed it. It was busy, so I suggest to book, but we didn't wait long to be served. We wanted to go for the 3 course but after the starters and the main (we had the Sunday beef roast) we were stuffed so we sadly had to skip the dessert. Perhaps the roast could have been better presented but all the food was lovely. I strongly suggest the goats cheese bon bon, they were definitely our favorites.
Super friendly staff, always there to help.
Definitely a pleasant lunch.
Came here for a dinner on a Friday evening, we hadn't booked in advance but thankfully we were seated.
I really enjoyed my experience here, the food was very well presented and prepared. We had an attentive waitress who asked whether we were ok or needed anything extra etc. I cannot complain about my experience on this occasion.
I paid just under £100 for the two of us, so it wasn't a cheap experience, but as a one off its a price I guess I would be willing to pay again
Been meaning to get out for dinner to B&V for ages and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent. The menu looked a little on the expensive side but the portion sizes justified the cost and more importantly was the quality of the food. Everything was cooked to perfection - starters and mains. Can't wait to get back and sample the other dishes.
My husband and I held our wedding reception dinner at Buckle and Vaughan for our 75 guests. The team were great, food was delicious and service was perfect. They really looked after us and helped make our day stress free and really enjoyable. Our guests loved the welcome drinks, the meal and the set up of the restaurant.
Popped in with my partner for a small bite to eat and a few drinks. Staff were very welcoming, Florence the bartender made a delightful espresso martini. Decor is nice and suits the location well. Liam the manager accommodated the two of us and was very pleasant ensuring everything was right with our food and drinks. Will visit again.
Restaurant located on Winchmore Hill green, near the train station. Nice decor and ambience with lots of soft furnishings and fabrics which really helps to reduce noise. The tables weren't jammed together, again a nice touch. The service was only ok - we had to wait a long time for our starters (admittedly we were a large group BUT we had pre-ordered several weeks in advance. The food was overall ok, some dishes excellent and others average. I really enjoyed the brie tart starter but was disappointed with the sea bass main as it was a bit dry and a bit thin. A nice local. I will be back to try other dishes!
We came to Buckle and Vaughan last night to use their function room for my mums surprise 60th birthday dinner.
The team were amazing, no question or request was too difficult and they pulled out all the stops to ensure the evening went smoothly.
The food was all delicious and they made sure each tables food was served together which really made a difference for a big party.
Thank you all and I really recommend using Buckle and Vaughan’s function room for anyone looking for a sit down dinner celebration!
As regular customers of Buckle and Vaughan, we chose the back room there for my Mum's 90th Birthday lunch. The food was excellent and served in a leisurely manner. The service received from Alex and his team was outstanding. The staff were attentive but unobtrusive. Everyone commented on how well organised and enjoyable the lunch was. Thank you to all of the chefs and serving staff involved for making it such a special occasion.
I went here for my birthday celebration with my husband 14th January 2022. We were greeted by a lovely chap we believe to be the manager (Liam I think) and he showed us to our seat. We were served by a really friendly waitress named Liv and she was extremely helpful and polite. The presentation was absolutely beautiful, we ordered starters and mains. For starters we had delicious Calamari, halloumi and goats cheese and all dishes were presented to perfection. We ordered Steak for our main and I even requested a cheeky fried egg on the side which the chef happily arranged. The food was delicious and bursting with flavour, I would definitely recommend this beautiful restaurant to everyone! They also surprised me with a complimentary birthday dessert! It was the best brownie I have ever tasted. Thank you for such a wonderful experience, can't wait to re attend! :-)
Always a warm welcome and cheerful, efficient service from Liam and his attentive team.
The food is excellent and consistent across the whole menu, including the Sunday Lunches. Perfectly located with views across The Green, our friends and family from out of town always insist on eating here whenever they visit. You should too.
