Great Italian dining off the tourist path! The owner was from Italia and he came to our table for some conversation and the waitress was Bella and also from Italia. My daughter and I both enjoyed our awesome dishes and wine!

Assaggi is tucked away in a side street somewhere between Bayswater and Notting Hill. It's small and unassuming, with just a handful of tables at which the well-heeled local residents enjoy one of the rare authentic Italian dining experiences in London.

This restaurant feels like it was airlifted out of a good neighbourhood in Rome and dropped as is into its current British setting. The dishes are extremely simple and extremely well made with quality ingredients, just as they should be.

I will definitely be going back!

Nino I am responding to the negative review you got and have not met the dinner in question. It was my son who showed it to me whom you looked after so well on Saturday night. I would have to agree that his taste buds and pallet must have divorced acrimoniously. My son loved his first experience at Assaggi BTW. Thanks so much for looking after him you have converted him to real food. I have loved almost every meal at Assaggi over the last 20 years. Best Ben

We've been to Assaggi a few times but this was our first visit in a couple of years. It is still outstanding. Delicious food, friendly and professional service, and a very comfortable atmosphere. We'll go again soon.

We enjoyed a delicious meal here. . . And a great tasting glass of wine--I would have preferred a more generous pour, but maybe it was indeed 5 ounces and didn't look like it!

The service and food was very good here, the starters in particular were brilliant! all seasonal produce and expertly created. There were no pasta dishes on the menu, just FYI. I was slightly upset that the £30 main courses came with no vegetables and so a very small bowl of broccoli and carrots cost £10 extra

I’ve lived in the neighbourhood and never had gone before. Incredible Italian food, very personal service in what could be someone’s house. Amazing.

I have only been here once, last summer, with an Aussie Italian friend and we both loved the place. Wonderful food, divine antipasti and pizza, with equally great service. They took our coats on entry and looked after us impeccably. Tucked away on a smart residential street close to Notting Hill and Bayswater stations, this is a beautifully intimate place to dine. Prices are pretty reasonable for what is a very expensive part of London. I will visit again next time I'm in the area and recommend this place, especially for couples.
