Great place! Real cask ale with old standby Fullers London Pride and many of the new smaller breweries as choices. Had whole lamb shank in Sheppards Pie that was great! Also, sausage and mash with a great sausage that was mostly meat with a little bit of cereal. I'll be back!

Great little pub! Food is good! Staff are friendly and the environment is laid back! Our 10 year old was allowed to eat here. You order at the bar and they bring everything to your table. The fish and chips were the best I've had yet! Mushy peas were also great! No complaints all around!

We found this pub by chance, while strolling around the neighborhood. We had planned on having lunch elsewhere, but were attracted by the sign advertising their pies. We changed plans and did not regret it in the least. This was certainly the best pie we had in London. I had the slow-cooked beef rib pie while my wife had the steak and nicholson's pale ale pie, both superb. Customers were the usual mix of locals and business people, along with some tourists. We heartily recommend it.

A great place for a pie in Westminster. The best pie is the classic steak and ale pie which won a British pie award. The staff were helpful and attentive. You sometimes will see an MP in this pub and I have heard for better or worse this place is a favourite of Nigel Farage.

Fantastic Bangers & Mash. Very attentive service, and a deep collection of ales and gins. This is a charming and wonderful pub that I’ve visited twice during my stay in the area. And I’ll probably be back again either this visit or in the future.

On a rare visit to London, looking for somewhere to eat, and we found this place. Approaching it in the evening, there was a crowd outside and we initially thought it was full and they were queuing to get in. We quickly realised they were all drinking outside and a member of staff told us that Thursday had become the new Friday, with a lot of people going for drinks after work and then working from home on Friday. When we got inside it was fairly quiet, with few people eating, but the kitchen was still open so we went ahead and ordered. The speciality was pies and we both had a chorizo and wild boar pie. These were very nice, served with a generous portion of veg and mashed potatoes. It was very pleasant to get traditional pub grub, with no chips or rice, for a change. Staff were very helpful, friendly and cheerful, ready with suggestions without being over bearing. It is hard to describe the atmosphere, fairly quiet initially, then with more people drifting inside, chatting and enjoying themselves. The music turned up a bit and was playing Christmas songs at one point, with some people joining in and singing enthusiastically. This was slightly surreal in early July, and added to the impression that London is a different world. A special mention needs to go to the beer, with a good selection of cask ales. Railway Porter, which unsurprisingly was a porter, particularly impressed. I like porter and finding a decent one is always a bonus. A very clear five stars, despite the fact we were tourists, out of place with the after work crowd.

The Marquis of Granby will go down in history as the most accommodating restaurant we've ever been to! We visited London from Canada and I picked the restaurant because it was in my Grandmother's neighborhood. We had reservations for 6:30 pm, but that day discovered a massive vintage market on Brick Lane! We called the restaurant to see if we could change our reservation to later in the evening, and the server asked us to come no later than 7:30 because the kitchen closes around that time. We arrived to a lively pub with exceptionally friendly staff and were brought to a room upstairs for dinner. Believe it or not, we were the only ones upstairs and a server stayed upstairs to take care of us the whole time! We both had the pie which came with a side of vegetables, mashed potatoes and a jug of gravy (yes, a small jug with so much gravy!). We loved every bite! Thank you Marquis of Granby for a very special and memorable night out.

Great food. Had the pie deal, which was £20.50 for the food and a drink. Would recommend.

We’re from the US and We were looking for a low-key English pub. Found it, and we were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, friendly staff and absolutely delicious food. We had cask ales with fish and chips, and a beef rib pie. Food was insanely good.

This pub was wonderful. They have a noisy, friendly tap room downstairs and a quiet dining room upstairs. My husband and I each got a pie accompanied by vegetables. They were quite tasty, especially the vegan mushroom pie. So many restaurants and pubs have run out of the vegan option by the time I arrive, it was a pleasant surprise to order then receive this beautiful dish.

Attractive little pub with pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Food and drink was a bit hit and miss. Beef rib pie was outstanding. Steak and ale pie good. Shepherds pie and burger not so flash. Nicholson pale ale tasted weak and flat and was tepid rather than chill. Lots of special deals including a discount for posting a review.

Convenient location when meeting in town. Great restaurant upstairs with good service and delicious pies. The veggie pie and mash with gravy had a great winter yumminess. Good value for money and the clientele when I visited were very pleasant even after a few pints down them.

Happy to have stumbled upon this place as close to my hotel. Great selection or beers, gins and savory pies...we tried a little of all three. Place was full. Found it odd that there was no table service. Overall environment and prices should have dictated not having to get up and order everything from the bar.
