Excellent crepes, that taste as good as crepes made in France. I wish they had seating space and more staff as the queue can be long. I will go back
This is my favourite creperie in London! My friend introduced me to this place few years ago and I fell in love with it straight away. I normally go for ham and cheese crepe and followed by banana butterscotch cream dream. Yes I am that greedy when it comes to this place! They are an outdoor stall in front of a pub so I have to try to find somewhere to sit to munch away my crepes.
I remember first coming here over 10 years ago as a starving student. It tasted divine then, it tastes heavenly now. Almost as if the controversy surrounding this little stall has added to the flavour. Ignore the rather aggressive signs warning dire consequences if you think to partake of any of the amenities of the nearby pub (ie the chairs) and instead enjoy the cheap on the wallet, heavy on the tummy and warm on the heart crepes.
Parfait!. It's safe to say that it's always a good sign when a place is busy, and the constant lines of people queueing up says it all. Very reasonable for what you get, and the list of options is truly endless.
A food stand by a pub with long lines every night, rain or shine, the best crepes you will ever have. Beware of all the butter. You will be amazed. A once a month treat or your arteries won't survive. But it is so worth it.
La Crêperie de Hampstead is a permanent outdoor stall, based in Hampstead since 1980. It has become a staple of Hampstead High Street, and is never seen without a queue. They serve a large selection of savoury Galettes and sweet Crêpes, and it is difficult to choose what to go for. For the indecisive, I recommend going with a friend and sharing one Galette and one Crêpe, although it does get messy. I’ve visited on rainy days when the queue is tolerable, but that means compromising on the comfort of eating outside, as there is no seating, and the next door pub is not too excited about Crêpe eating freeloaders. Thus, if you are not in a rush, go there on a sunny day. My favourite Galette so far has been the Mushroom Garlic Cheese With Ham Too. For the sweet Crêpes I enjoyed the Banana, Dark Chocolate and Coconut. Next time I would tell them to go easy on the chocolate though, as it became a bit overwhelming in the last few bites where all the melted chocolate h
This tiny shack has stood in the same place all my life; the navy blue and forest green sign hasn't changed and neither has the quality of the food.
La Creperie de Hampstead certainly serves one of the best crepes that I have come across, far better than the ones served at the many dodgy stalls in central Paris. For under a fiver, you would be able to get either a sweet or a savoury crepe. Be it a banana and raspberry or a cheese, ham and mushroom combi, the sizable crepe is literally a small meal in itself. Settle down on the benches beside the thoroughfare with a hot chocolate from the cafes nearby. You got to have crepes piping hot, saving it till when you’re up at Hampstead Heath just won’t do.
We used to go to a crêperie in South Kensington which we really loved. We later found out that the original branch was a stand in Hampstead, a pretty posh part of town. There is also another branch in Marylebone, but long story s

It is an institution in Hampstead. Last year everyone signed a petition to avoid its closure (it apparently worked).
But let's talk about the crêpes: in my opinion they're quite different from authentic French crêpes, they're more buttery and somehow more "crunchy". Still, they're good. I'd rate it 3 for the food and I add a 0.5 for the atmosphere. My favourite one is banana and dark chocolate. Unless it is your meal, remember to share the crepe because they're HUGE and have plenty of topping/filling!!!!
The long queues outside this place speaks
for the good crepes they offer.Their crepes are crisp and chewy unlike the regular ones . This uniqueness makes this place worth going to . Their Belgian chocolate button crepe is to die for . I also love their savory crepe with melted cheese , ham and eggs that goes so well with the crispy and crunchy texture of the crepe. The crepe with tomatoes and italian herbs is not a bad option either .
For almost 5 years I have come to what my mates and I affectionately call 'the crepe place at Hampstead' and it has never disappointed. Now, the sad truth: I've had the same crepe here for nearly almost 5 years: Spinach, Garlic, Cheese & Cream with a later addition to the mix: extra spinach.
Oh yeah!! It really is my ultimate comfort food and the people who work there put on an inspiring display of professionalism as they dish out crepe after crepe to the (often very demanding) Hampstead elite. Make sure you tip these guys well and don't be shy to go for a savoury choice..it is, in my opinion, the only way to fly!
For nearly ten years this has been my first stop for crepes and not once have I been disappointed. Adored by locals and all foodies who have had the pleasure of coming across this place there simply aren't that many other places out there that can match the quality and service this place offers.
Savoury and sweet there are crepes galore to suit all tastes even. Those who fancy something a more health can opt for a galette(basically a wholewheat crepe). The first crepe I had here was the butter and sugar and It's been my favourite ever since something about it's simplicity seems to keep me coming back. Of course being a foodie I occasionally switch it up and try something new and nothing has disappointed. Ham and cheese, lemon and sugar and even the galettes are very enjoyable.
The staff are as enthusiastic as they are good cooks. However, be warned at peak times queue's can be very long but they do tend to progress quickly. The seating area can't accommodate the number of visitors that usually frequent this place therefore, if you do decide to go especially during peak times it's best to just do a takeaway.
The Hampstead Creperie is a much loved crepe kiosk, attended to on a regular basis by all locals and nearby school students. I remember one time there was a rumour that it was going to close down and this led to utter despair and outraged protests.
Run by authentic French chefs, the crepes are like no other - I usually go for a simple chocolate crepe but it's still such a treat. The pancake is nice and thick and the chocolate is so plentiful that you have to be careful eating it so as not to end up with it all over your face.
If you lack a sweet tooth, there's also a good range of savoury crepes for you to try, perhaps during a quick lunch break. The only small downside is that because it's just a small stand there's usually a long queue and nowhere to sit.
These crepes are delicious, always have a long queueing before we get the crepes, taste warm, please try the one with the banana and maple syrup.... Yummy
The best crepe in London like seriously. Savoury or sweet both taste brilliantly awesome.
I love this place!
I've been coming here for years and rain or shine La Creperie de Hampstead is is open, like a warm beacon, calling me in. This is a small kiosk located in Hampstead right off the heath and minutes from the tube. Every single time I've been here (and I've been a LOT) there has been a line. Probably because they are the best crepes I have had in London!
Cheese & Spinach, Ham & Cheese, Mushrooms, Nutella & Banana or Sugar it's so hard to decide!
Sadly, because it's only a kiosk, there's nowhere to sit but there are loads of benches nearby to have a seat or, even better, take your crepe to the heath nearby for a picnic!
Went on a Saturday, there was a long queue, we ended up waiting for 50 minutes in line! The service was good and quick. Had mushroom in garlic cheese and milk chocolate with coconut. Both really fresh and burn-your-mouth hot! The fillings are extremely generous and the crepe itself is so yummy!
Note: they only take cash but there’s an ATM across the road. Downside is the waiting time, its too excessive to wait so long for a crepe. Maybe on weekends a few extra helping hands can be a good idea…
Legendary place! Pancakes isn't just a dish here, it's an experience. From the sumptuous Cheese and Tarragon blend to the bold Buckwheat pancakes, this place serves stacks of joy. And at the helm of it all is the chef, the maestro ensuring every bite is a delectable symphony.
Generous cheese and ham fillings. So satisfying. We waited in the queue for quite some time before they finally told us that they only accept cash. Fortunately, I had enough extra cash to cover my friends’ expenses. They should just put up a note. However, it was totally worthwhile for the queue
I’ve been coming here for years maybe since early to mid 90s to date. The service and quality has always been good even if we have to wait 45 minutes to an hour on occasions and it’s always worth it.
The staff work pretty quick once you’re at the front it doesn’t take long till you taste the magic. Mmmm
I’ve slowly introduced le creperie to the kids and it’s starting to become a fav of theirs now. which I can’t work out if that’s a good thing or not as we seem to be detouring there more than often.
If you haven’t been, give it a go!
Fantastic and authentic crepes prepared by two friendly and knowledgeable French chefs.
Notwithstanding the long queue, the crepes are well worth the wait!
NB - this place accepts cash only.
Additionally make sure you go to the original creperie called 'La Crêperie de Hampstead' and not the knock off, with blue & white striped awnings, located just opposite which goes under a similar name and is unrelated to the original creperie... See photo...
This place now accepts card payments which allowed me to try it out (first attempt was unsuccessful since I did not have any cash on me). I expected quite more from Tandoori Mix option. It had just a sprinkle of Tandoori spices while I thought it would be more on the side of chicken marinated in Tandoori sauce or something. The ratatouilles made the whole crepe taste more like pizza to be honest. The portion size was not huge at all. Overall it was good but I expected much more from the value you pay and the queue you have to wait. I loved galettes in France much more. Their crepe with ham and cheese was good though so I might try it again some time
Delicious savoury and sweet crepes. We had ham and cheese and milk chocolate. Slightly saggy though. Both chefs are friendly and helpful.
A little food truck style crêperie with a long queue, it's a pleasant wait that's well worth it. Prices are reasonable and the owner is French so you know the crepe is delicious :) tried both sweet (chocolate rum raisin) and savory (mushroom cheese and ham) ones, both were moist and flavorful. Will definitely revisit. There's no seating tho so you'll see people just eating them all across Hampstead.
I went after a long walk with my boyfriend around Hampstead and the reward was to stop at this creperie, which is quite well known. Although the lady who runs doesn’t have a very friendly face (which I understand is due to the queues of people that form), the crepes she prepares are incredible!! We ordered two complete crepes with egg, ham and cheese. Something I love is that they are very generous with the cheese. I was completely transported back to the times I've been to Paris and eaten crepes from a little stall. Highly recommended!
Wowowowowwowow: wow.
Great sweet crepe, fantastic savory crepe.
Why not crepe? Sometimes cash only, sometimes cash and card. We are confused but: wowowowowowowwowow.
This crêperie is a legend. Be prepared to stand in a queue for 50 minutes to be part of this legend! If you don't feel like queueing, another crepe stall is only 5 metres away, but I haven't seen anyone buying anything there. Perhaps it's out of respect for the authenticity of the original crêperie de Hampstead, or the other crêpes are not so good, or both? The choice is enormous: about 20 savoury options, and 20 sweet options. The prices vary from £4.50 to just under £10. Both cards and cash are accepted. It's a street food outlet, so no wifi, no WC, no seating, but there are public benches nearby, and some people sit on the pavement. The service is a bit slow because the pancakes are cooked on demand, and the cheese is geared, the bananas etc. are sliced in front of your eyes. Overall, it's a very genuine, authentic experience for a good weather day, or night!
Don't miss this stand if you're in Hampstead Heath! I tried the mushroom & tarragon butter as well as the tandoori ratatouille with mushrooms. Both were delicious. Also had a sweet crepe: the hazelnut crunch. Can't go wrong with a chocolate crepe.
I'm not going to lie.. the crêpes are indeed very good but nothing that you probably won't find anywhere else. If you don't mind waiting long queues or having pretty average service (for a £9 crepe mind you) then yes, try it at least once.
Unbelievably good crêpes. The garlic mushrooms with cheese and ham was outrageously good. The sweet crêpes are also tasty but not nearly as good as the savoury ones in my opinion.
As a French and as an absolute lover of savoury crepes, I had to try this one while wandering around in Hampstead. I read the queue can be quite long but because I went on a weekday it was perfectly fine for me!
I had the ham and cheese for £7.50 which I guess is fairly priced for London, and this area specifically.
If you like crepes, I would definitely recommend you give it a go!
PS: take cash, they don't take card!
I ordered a butter and sugar crepe and it was amazing. It was very fast and kind staff. If you go at night you have to wait a very long queue but I think the wait is worth it. Now the atmosphere doesn't really count because it's in the street so that's why I'm leaving out atmosphere.
Best crepes in London. The catch here is that you need to be super patient and que for an hour approximately.
Crepes are huge, lovely and buttery too!
Only marked down for the lack of other fruits than bananas! No strawberries, cherry, mango... But that's minor as they were fab!
I have to mention the cheeky creperie outside the pub, about 4 meters away (blue and white branding, named la creperie!) I'm sure people get confused, but the original creperie is the one in the mobile van, not the tent!
