We tried Watch House Bermondsey Street SE1 for the first time today. We were treated to friendly and efficient service. My hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and decor. I decided on the healthy and delicious Lentil, Feta and Beetroot salad which hit the hunger spot. Followed by a real strong leafed and fragrant earl grey tea. My hubby had an espresso and a ciabatta chorizo sandwich. The coffee was smooth and strong, with the sandwich being bitey, fresh and tasty. We bought a loaf of wholemeal to take home which was one of the best tasting breads I have had in a really long time. We will definitely be returning.

Was pleasantly surprised at how authentic the shakshuka was. Very impressed with the service, breakfast/brunch, and fresh ingredients. A popular spot in the area, it always gets full around lunch and has queues on weekends.

I was on my way to an Olympus workshop at Bermondsey street and passed The Watch House. Being a creative and obsessed with design, the iron signage swaying back and forth caught my eyes. The Watch House logo is simply elegant, geometric clean lines and dots in the middle. A beach wooden table and chairs outside I watched a lady sipping coffee leisurely outside. I could tell it is popular amongst people with queues mounting up the pavement.

Great little spot with real character. The coffee was good without being outstanding. The sweet things on the counter looked amazing but I was there too early for that goodness.

I met a colleague here for lunch a few weeks ago, and am still thinking about the excellent food and coffee we had!

The watch house ticks a lot of boxes. The decor is quirky yet comfortable, with warm brick walls and a semi-circular dinning area (not a huge space, so get there early to nab a table). The tables are minimalist, just long narrow wooden surfaces but sufficient for one small laptop or tablet.

The coffees are really well made. I am on a filtered coffee binge, as of late, and what I am quickly realizing is that many coffee shops in London can make a nice latte but when it comes to filtered coffee they fall horrifically short. So, I was supremely pleased when the filtered coffee at Watch House was smooth, not overly acidic and totally drinkable.

We also had lunch while there. I had the sweet chili chicken wrap, which was fantastic. Clearly a favorite of the customers, this was the first sandwich/wrap to go.

In a nutshell, this place serves some amazing waffles in a style which is as rustic and as cosmopolitan as London itself, the staff is simply amazing and always smiling and always up for a chat.

This little coffee shop depicts the heart and soul of London, It is a miniature of how London has progressed over the years imbibing the new world without letting go the old rustic charm of history. Every time i went past this place i was intrigued and they always had a tag saying "Best waffle in London" which fascinated me a lot and Boy oh Boy they weren't just bragging!
This is a little cute coffee shop with around 5 tables , The Watch House was built in the early 19th century and housed guards who protected the churchyard graves. Although it has received a total makeover, it still has its roots to the early architecture. They have some nice paintings around and I am told that these are on display for sale. They encourage local artists to showcase and dont charge a dime for this service which i felt was really amazing way of nurturing talent.

They have preserved the old charm of this place, they still have a chimney and a small wooden fire place to keep the place warm, The coffee is mostly in-house and looked really good, The place houses "Waffle on" every evening from 6 till the waffle's lasts.
I have always had the same waffle with chocolate sauce, the waffle is amazingly soft and fluffy but not soggy, The chocolate is simply sinful and looks like its outsourced from the heavens :) specially crafted by the angels. The waffle is made fresh and is served pipping hot. THey serve it on a plate which is made of stone which again enhances the experience  of having a hot waffle with some hot chocolate sauce and adds to the entire rustic charm of this place.

The staff here is very well trained and are very well informed about the items on the menu, They are always with a smile which enhances the over all experience at this place and they have a lot of information about the places around and are very helpful and up for a chat on the architecture or history of this place (at least the guy who was serving here the day i visited was)

Bermondsey’s getting buttered up with street food darlings Waffle On getting behind the bar to iron out a new evening menu at The Watch House. Waffle On at The Watch House is an evening kitchen takeover that, as far as I know, is an indefinite collaboration. Still, I’d recommend heading over ASAP because Waffle On’s buttermilk waffles are delish and The Watch House is comfortably cosy cafĂ© whether you’re craving waffles or not.

Before my acquaintance with Waffle On and their dazzling array of flavours and toppings, I always associated waffles with the oft-dry, slightly tasteless slice of batter, on which a whole heap of maple syrup or perhaps ice cream would be dumped, thus masking the actual taste of what was underneath. But then I started hanging out at Maltby St Market and there was Waffle On.  And they had flavours like Southern fried chicken with Maple butter, dry cure bacon with biodynamic egg and canadian maple syrup and Goats cheese with a blueberry coulis, fresh figs and blueberries.  Need I say more?

It was one of those days where everything was happening on the same evening, but despite my initial hesitance, I eventually decided to track across London after the Maison Blanc event in Fulham - and thankfully it was worth the journey. Critically-acclaimed streetfood traders, that you may have recognized if you have frequented the famed Maltby Street market, have teamed up with neighbourhood coffee shop The Watch House, launching London's only dining experience exclusively dedicated to waffles.

Watch House has been pumping out perfect shots of caffeinated joy for just over a year from the teensy, but gorgeous 19th century ‘Watch House’ in Bermondsey. They also do a very fine line in fabulous cakes.

As a lifestyle blogger, I visit a lot of coffee shops and cafe's and I have to say, this has been one of my all time favourites so far. Tucked away on the corner of Bermondsey street, it's a total hidden gem amongst a busy area. The cafe itself is pretty small - which is probably the only downside as I imagine it would be hard to get a seat at peak times - however the decor is stunning. Very trendy/nordic-esque with the exposed brick and lots of wood. The coffee itself was incredible, and the latte was one of the best I've ever had. I have a full review (and many pictures) in a post, just search "the elle next door, watch house" :)

Amazing use of space in a cute circular tower. Coffee from @Ozonecoffee on both espresso and filter. Sandwiches and cakes galore! Love the wood burning stove to warm up next to in the winter. Not much seating and gets very busy at peak times

Came across this gorgeous place on my way to London Bridge. Not only did the smell of the coffee make me stop in my hurried tracks, but so did the sign outside which read, "Any coffee and pastry/ muffin ÂŁ3.50".
Going inside was by far the wisest decision I've made in a while. I ordered a black Americano and an almond croissant the size of a small sailboat. The coffee was delicious with a rich crema on top- truly the best I've had in a long, long time and I drink coffee every day. And the almond croissant? The stuff dreams are made of...

The coffee at WatchHouse is some of the best coffee I have ever had ! Perfectly brewed with intense flavour. We had some food but wouldn't recommend it, you just need to grab a really good cup of coffee from them. The staff were really funny and kind complementing the calm and rustic ambience in the store

This coffee shop was suggested to me, and I hadn't tried a WatchHouse before. The coffee was exactly how I like coffee to be, strong and rich. I ordered a black americano, and it was perfect. Staff were friendly and service was quick. The food was very well presented and freshly prepared.

One of the cutest speedo bars I’ve been if not the most! Fantastic coffee as always with Watch House, but there is something about being in the original and also the small but perfectly build and well design space that it feels as if your getting a hug. It is a proper snug, and it has just a handful of seats inside, so please be kind and I wouldn’t recommend it as place to take out your laptop.

I have traveled and visited a lot of cafĂ©s in London but this is BEST in all aspects. The staff is warm, coffee is the best, and the atmosphere is exactly what you need in this cold country. So if you live in London or are visiting then you just visit WatchHouse Bermondsey.♄♄♄

The vibes in this coffee shop were great - the coffee wasn't the best we’ve had, but the food was incredible. It may be a bit pricey, yet the friendly staff, decor, and food quality make it worth it. Would give it a 4.5/5 if I could 😊

Wow 😼 Incredibly popular, with a few tables with bench seating and stills inside, this is one well run and professional local specialty coffee stop. It’s worthwhile queuing for their coffee and selection of tarts and panini. Worth any diversion

My home from home! Love this place. Love the team, the service and the atmosphere. This place has kept me sane and grounded whilst working from home. The green tea sencha is to die for especially when it’s served with so much love and joy! They even accommodate my idiosyncrasies (I drink tea from a straw, and they always ensure I have a straw.) A wonderful team, spreading warmth and joy. Fantastic service!
