Had booked a two night stay this weekend for my husbands 60th, we were going to the London Palladium on Saturday which was his birthday and as we have eaten at the Argyll Arms before decided to pre book a table as it does get busy. We were shown to our table( by the window) as asked when I booked it. I had mentioned when booking it was for my hubbys birthday, and we were brought out two glasses of fizz, a lovely surprise. Hubby had the pie & mash, i had the smoked salmon fish cakes, both were lovely, too full for dessert unfortunately. It's certainly worth a visit as has lots of character. 👍😀
What a fab old traditional London pub. The decor was wonderful and the beer and staff too!!
I booked weekend in London for my husband's birthday. This pub was recommended by our friend so we decided to give a try. We came on busy night and of course just week before Christmas was absolutly mental on Oxford street. We were greated and shown to our table. Within couple minutes our drinks arrived. I had soup of the day (winter vegetable) i just cant tell you how tasty this soup was, just amazing. My husband had rib eye steak perfectly cooked and i had nicely slow cooked piece of beef which was divine!! With roasted parsnip as chips (which i never thought i would try!!) but was so nice and crispy i couldnt even tell was parsnip. We finished with desert to share. Nice hot rich chocolate brownie and ice cream. The decor of the pub is amazing was like travel back in time, i loved it. The staff is beyond helpfull and friendly and very professional. Their were so busy but our waiter Dusan still had time to stop with us and chat a bit which was sooo nice. We felt very welcome and very well looked after. We hope to see you again in our next visit!! I would highly recommend this place.
Lovely atmosphere, service from staff brilliant and good food. Would highly recommend.

Saturday night me and friend were in search of a great old school English pub
And a quick search lead us to The Argyll arms london
First impression- classic old charm English pub
Having a great decor with loads of chandeliers and old lamp posts around
The wooden decor gives this place a classic aged look
Ambiance 4.5/5
Vintage look ,and it’s a glamours place with rustic wooden decor and week lit chandeliers around
It has both our door seating space - work well for English weather
Indoors both ground floor and first floor
The ground floor caters to only drinks and bar nibbles
First floor caters to dining and drinks served together
Food -4.5/5
The food menu is simple but has options for every one
We choose to order the chicken with some peas and salad
Along with it were in mood to try desserts so choose the Trio of dessert s
The chicken was cooked so well and the meat just falls off
The marinated process is just right with spot of flavours
The chips and salad served along with it are fresh
Then comes my favourite was quite surprised to see such great desserts served in a pub
Trio of desserts
Brownie , lemon tart and chocolate profiteroles paired with two scoops of vanilla ice team
The vanilla ice cream is great and goes well with the chocolate brownie which is moist and tasted great
The lemon tart stole the show right amount of lemon zest and tart is baked to perfection
Then comes the chocolate coated profiteroles they are sinful
They just melt in our mouth !
Remarkable
Service 4/5
The staff are quite attentive
They make sure to ask for more
They advice us to choose from food or drinks
They always have that warm smile upon their face
Kudos team
VFM -4.5/5
The over all experience is great
A perfect place to grab some drinks and spend a lovely evening out there with friends and family
The food is pretty good and lipsmacking
The service is great
On the whole a well spent day dining out there
Team you all deserve a huge round of applause
Nice pub with friendly service, located on the edges of Soho by Oxford Circus station. Dark, wooden interiors keep this Victorian pub's classic feel and the smaller rooms throughout create cosy places for a few drinks with friends.
We ate in the Palladian restaurant upstairs, which although removed from the main bar area still has a cosy pub-like feel, just with table service! The menu ranges from the more standard pub fare like burgers and sausages, to gastro-pub additions like baked Camembert, gammon steak, and cous cous salad. I was impressed with the amount of veggie options on the menu, even including veggie sausages!
I had the Smoked Cheese, Potato and Spinach pie (even made with vegetarian suet!) which was delicious and my friend's veggie burger with guacamole and salsa also went down a treat! Their skin-on chips are amazing - seems a small thing to comment on but I believe the standard of chips can say a lot about a pub...
Most mains are around £10-11, which for a Central London pub with fresh, quality dishes is pretty darn good!
Great to find a pub in such a central London location that doesn't charge astronomical prices. The Argyll Arms looks quite fancy with its dark wood interior and glass etched panels yet the full breakfast here is a great deal at a very respectable £5.95. The staff are very friendly and quick as well, making your visit all the better. The restaurant upstairs isn't large however so you may find it difficult to get a seat when it gets busy.
We popped in here for lunch on a busy Saturday last week. Just off the Oxford Street tube station, the Agryll Arms is a little utopia where you can escape the hustle bustle of the busy street. A proper old English pub, it has little winding corridors and nooks where you can have a sit down and order a pint. Upstairs is a dining room, for those looking for a full meal, which on this day, we were. The service is warm, friendly and quick. For three people (two of whom weren't very hungry), we ordered crispy calamari, a side of onion rings, Line caught cod-fillet fish and chips (a specialty), and some soup. I only tried the calamari, onion rings and fish and chips, with a pint on the side, and can safely say that the fish was among the best I've had in a while! So well battered and fried, perfectly flavoured and just the right consistency, it really does hit the spot. The onion rings, another favourite for me, were also very well done, although they're a simple preparation, these guys do them a little differently, and very, very well. Dessert was a slice of blueberry cheesecake, again - fresh and quite delicious, and all of this made for a truly delightful little lunch. Bon Apetit' !
The pub was really lovely. Food was delicious. Our server Chris was excellent. Attentive but not intrusive. Observant too as he noticed I took sugar in my coffee and put this in my second cup before he brought it to me. He served the entire dining room on his own and is a real credit to the venue. We will definitely come back. It was absolutely excellent.
Happen to be passing and wanted a quick drink. What a lovely oldy worldly pub! Clean, cosy with so much character. We only had drinks but next time we're in London we'll be coming back for food. Toilets were immaculate (the devil is in the detail keep it up!)
This place is fantastic!!! We ate dinner there and had a fantastic traditional British meal! Our server Chris made it a great experience. He had great suggestions for the food and new the menu well! We ate the fish & chips, steak pies, and the wild boar pie. All were delicious. Highly recommend this place.
My husband and I came to London on our honeymoon, and we stopped by The Argyll Arms for pies. My family hails from northern England and my mom mom used to make all sorts of British dishes. The crust on the pies were spectacular and honestly, the closest I could ever get to her pies. Our server Chris, suggested numerous pies to us. He was very sweet and kind throughout our entire service. If you’re looking for a great place to dine, definitely stop by here.
After a very long morning of shopping and sightseeing it was time for lunch. We ended in this beautiful pub. Downstairs was beautiful but a bit noisy for so headed upstairs. Beautiful and quite, perfect. Our waiter ,Chris was exceptional.
We had fish and chips and our youngest had the lambshanck shepherd pie. By the way Chris went our of his way to charged my youngest phone. Thank you.
Lovely pub with the most nicest bar staff I've encountered in Central London. We stopped for drinks before a show at the Palladium and also ordered food. Little issue with the food but resolved quickly. Drinks are slightly pricey but that's what you get in Central. It honestly made such a difference having staff who went out their way to be warm and friendly. Thank you
Only reason I'm giving a four instead of a five is because of the long wait we had for our food, for which in fairness the waiter we had offered us a free round of drinks as way of an apology. Very nice food and lovely setting for the restaurant section of the pub. Friendly and helpful staff, and a nice atmosphere in there. Fairly priced as well compared to other places on Oxford Street so if feeling a bit peckish while out shopping definitely make a stop here.
Highly recommended for a lunch or dinner while in London!! They have different options on the menu from pies to burgers. The food is really tasty and the setting is just beautiful!
A traditional pub with a nice atmosphere, nice staff and great food. Downstairs was busy in the bar however upstairs was much quieter in the area where food is served. A wide selection of food and drink with reasonable prices for central London and the quality of food.
Stopped off here after a show. Traditional London Pub. Great Beer, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, with a number of screened off areas. Toilets upstairs.
Amazing meal and service by Chris and crew.
Traditional English pub. Quiet dining room upstairs awesome atmosphere and good vibes downstairs
We arrived at the pub, 4 adults and 5 kids under 13 and were immediately taken care of by Chris in the upstairs dining room. Chris provided exemplary service, including tips on meals, suggestions of places to visit and was tolerant of our kids. He had such a lovely and friendly demeanour. It’s a credit to him. Thanks Chris! Highly recommend!
Chris rearranged furniture to accommodate us, lovely pub, lovely staff, lovely food A+
We had an early dinner, myself, hubby & daughter. The food was delicious & the chap who served us upstairs was brilliant, great customer service. A big thank you to this lovely pub.
Had a great dinner w/ Chris as our Server.. Very nice great guy. Our son has a Peanut allergy and he took extreme steps to help make us feel at ease. Classic British Pub.. Staff making all the difference over all the 100’s of Pubs in London…
We loved the ambiance and history in your pictures every where. The food was so tasty and hot, I had the steak and ale Pie and mum had the warm chicken salad. The server was so lovely, friendly and efficient.
We just had beers here but refreshing place to sit outside and enjoy our visit to London
Loved the separate dining area, away from the very busy bar downstairs. Excellent waiter, attentive and polite and good to see that he’d read my booking notes. Food was great.
