Every time we visit we are more and more impressed, the food and service has been spectacular and after returning from Barcelona I have almost lost faith in a chance of finding a true paella and the one I've had here proved me wrong.
We also tried the croquettes and cod steak and Lawd oh Lawd it was immaculate.
The fish was cooked to perfection and the flavour parings almost gave us a foodgasm.
To sum up: you can expect honest and crafted to perfection dishes.
Another really important aspect is the quality of the service we received. Everyone is extremely friendly and their knowledge about the menu and recommendations are always spot on.

Great experience.Had a lovely lunch.Nice fair haired young man was our server and he was charming. Used to visit this pub in the sixties when I lived in the area.First time back and was not disappointed.

It looks like a very nice pub log fire friendly staff until you try the menu it's amazing duck with red cabbage wow and the chorizo with prawns delightful looking forward to our second visit

My first visit, I went Sunday I arrived at 1130am to early to order a roast had a Guinness while I waited, expertly poured and delivered to the table I sat on. In ordered the pork belly and it was superb! Crackling excellent I shall be back with friends. Excellent service by the staff by the way.

Had the Sirloin steak 8oz, with chips, peas and vegetables. As today, is the steak club. Lovely meal, however got very little chips with my meal.
Nice pub with an amazing beer garden at the back to enjoy some drinks or a meal al fresco.
The food is delicious and the portions very generous, we really had a great time.
Had such a beautiful Sunday experience! Great atmosphere, tasty food (I had the crab toast, beef roast and white chocolate tart and would recommend every dish!). Our server was Maggie and she was super friendly and attentive. Would return to the Gatehouse.
Good local pub. Great customer service and nice food. Walked in without booking on a Sunday afternoon and were offered a table after a short wait.
I come back time and time again for the fish and chips here.
They also have an excellent selection of Spanish dishes and if I am not eating the fish and chips then it is the paella I am going for.
Get here early on a Sunday if you want to get a table for Sunday roast. There are seats by the main bar, in the restaurant area and also in the garden which is particularly nice in the summer.
Sometime a little too many screamy children but that’s not unsurprising given it’s a family pub.

Very trendy pub and restaurant. The Theatre above is great for a local venue and regularly hosts some fine performances for an enjoyable matinee or evening performance. Food above average, but not sure if it is worthy of the expense.
We went for a Sunday roast. Had the lamb and every bite was wonderful. Full of flavour and a good portion. Our happy place to go too. Friendly staff and really good service. Stop looking at the review and go. Beer garden is the best. Thank you Gatehouse.
Had a really good evening here. The food was VERY good. We were a group of 5 and everyone enjoyed their meals. It was also a busy Saturday night, but the food came out in good time and was my burger was cooked to perfection, nice and pink in the middle. I had the mushroom croquettes to start and they were lovely also. We had a male waiter (think he was a scouser), he was brilliant. Remembered all of our orders off the top of his head. Really good service, really good food, and a really nice setting inside the pub. I don’t live locally, but I’d defo return if in the area again. 10/10!
Big pub right on the corner, in Highgate. Food is Spanish themed and so is unique in many ways. Of a very high quality and very creative too, loved all the desserts (we tried many)! The service was pleasant, they were attentive and patient. We had a nice seat outside partially in the sun, they had a huge indoor and decently sized outdoor space. Would visit again but it was priced on the higher end and not the most vegetarian choice/options overall. Not typical pub food but very good overall.
We were super impressed with the food here - I know it’s a small thing, but the tartare sauce was absolutely banging. One of the best meals we’ve had for a while, well worth coming.
Service was amazing, too. Massive credit to Maggie as our main waiting staff, she was super attentive, smiley and knowledgeable.
We enjoyed a gorgeous bite to eat here last Friday. The staff were incredibly tentative and found us a wonderful table in the garden for a family gathering.
Will definitely be back to try more of their delicious food here on offer. Even the small plates we shared were so tasty and filling!
