You can roll your eyes. As the visit to this restaurant was another (perhaps misguided) attempt to find good fried chicken. I have been failed by places so far, which makes me think on occasion if this venture is doomed to failure. It sometimes feels like the chicken in the sky is laughing at my desperation. So in my struggle to find something which tasted of something, I thought that perhaps it would be worth departing the grubby corners of this city for somewhere, as estate agents like to say, established.
Granger and Co have a couple of restaurants dotted around London, but I hadn’t had the chance to go to any until recently. We went to the King’s Cross branch which is tucked away between King’s Cross station and Granary Square. We popped in for a late dinner and luckily were seated within 10 minutes. I think on any other occasion, I would recommend booking beforehand because it seemed to be very popular and I have heard lots of praise for its weekend brunches.
It’s all the rage with Granger & Co. Loved by many for its legendary breakfasts, and branches all over the world from Bill Granger hometown Sydney, Tokyo, Honolulu and Seoul. Bill Granger is onto a winner. The Notting Hill branch attracts around the block long queues. His third establishment in Kings Cross is easily accessible without the crazy queues.
I like the openness of the space and how natural light is fully utilised, service was fast and efficient, we had the Ricotta Hotcakes (which have to be tried they are simply amazing),and the Scrambled eggs on sourdough which was a let down for me but if eggs is your thing this will make you happy cause they was lots of it. Overall will definitely go back.
Really good ingredients put together to form amazing dishes. Had the soft cakes with banana, honeycomb butter and maple syrup with a side of bacon. You'll have to wait a while in lunch rush hour but it is totally worth it.
We looooved our experience here that we came back 2-3timws during our 6day stay in london. We were staying nearby at the pullman st pancras and it was just a quick walk over. The walk itself was really lovely and when we arrives we loved the dim lighting...it gave the place such a warm ambiance. All the staff were also very welcoming and accommodating answering questions and checking on us a few times before the kitchen closed.
The food was light yet filling and the wine selection was great!
A large group of us dined here for dinner. The tofu and eggplant dish (pictured) was a stand out dish for me. Unique with familiar flavours!
The staff took care of us, attentive and meals came out at a standard pace. The setting is great with soft lighting but it can get busy so always make a booking. Next time, I will visit to check out their brunch menu.
Located in Pancras square overlooking the beautiful views of csm and kings cross, this place also has amazing food. It's a really nice place to go out for brunching and if it's sunny you can sit outside and enjoy the weather, the views and the food. Also, their ricotta pancakes is a very interesting and famous concept that is a must try.
Recommendation- ricotta pancakes with banana and maple syrup.
The picture says it all !💔
Just try the Ricotta hot cakes 🍌
Its a little peace of heaven ☁️❤️
I didn't like their scrambled eggs but I will sure come back again for their hotcakes !
In millennia to come, should anyone be in search of a restaurant to symbolise London, that great palimpsest of human history, as it was in the summer of 2016, our hypothetical human historian need look no further than Granger and Co. The Sloth went. It was all metal and clear glass. There was no place in the entire restaurant from where you could not see Pancras Square, yet another private development shamelessly masquerading as public space, where the public is grudgingly tolerated on the terms of the capital’s property panjandrums. Everybody in there was aged between 25 and 34 and looked like they had stepped out of an in-flight magazine. Which was apt, given that the restaurant resembles nothing so much as a pleasant airport lounge. [Please read more on our blog]
The Aussie restaurateur Bill Granger, the mind behind the Granger &Co brand, has opened his latest venture in King's Cross. Granger & Co has captured the heart of the London food scene as the restaurant's name has recently become synonymous with brunch. However, I was yet to see what all the fuss what about so I decided to dine there recently. On a side note, I'll be taking a break from my food tour of the King's Cross neighbourhood as I set out to explore other areas in greater depth. Maybe Notting Hill? Maybe the East End? Who knows...I'll keep you updated.
Where better to kill time before boarding a train at Euston station than down the road at Granger & Co?. I had a couple of hours to kill before heading up to Liverpool on Thursday so I decided to stop by for a quick bite to eat. I've heard brilliant things about Granger & Co - Bill Granger has made a name for himself as the friendly Aussie king of quick and easy cooking so I thought it was about time I tried out what he had to offer.
In anticipation of partaking in the sacred institution of brunch, I followed the regular ritual of starving before stuffing. Besides, being punctual was a priority, since word is that Granger & Co starts to stir up a crowd between 10:30-11 AM. And of course world-famous chef, Bill Granger’s restaurant does not take reservations on its busiest days. Thus brunch attire was donned, and the next bus to Kings Cross was boarded.
Get there early on weekends (by 11 AM) if you don't want to wait in a long queue. Though it may be worth it for the delicious food - tried Ricotta Hot Cakes with Banana and Honeycomb Butter, which are perfectly soft and fluffy, without being over-sweet. The Buckwheat Bowl was a mouthful of a breakfast, exploding with healthy flavours. I'd highly recommend this joint if you're a breakfast or brunch fanatic. More on my blog.
I used to frequent their place in Clerkenwell and I am familiar with their really tasty and healthy menu. My favourite has always been the almond milk and their bondi bowl. It's one of the things I like about them. They can take regular vegetables, mix em up, add a dressing and it comes out so tasty and healthy!
Have to admit, I normally get the parmesan schnitzel with creamed corn. It's really good and one of my favourites here in Kings Cross.
West Londoners will know the name "Granger and Co." well associating it with hearty and delicious meals and a great cup of coffee to boot. To say they have been a roaring success is a gross understatement and even with the plethora of choice in Westbourne Grove area of Notting Hill, it's positioned itself as one of the best (if not the best in my opinion). So with that in mind, expansion was inevitable. First there was Granger and Co. Clerkenwell. We now welcome the arrival of Granger and Co. Kings Cross.
Arriving and seated for my evening meal, I was pleased to see that the decor at the Kings Cross location has retained a lot of what made the other 2 such a pleasure to dine in; modern and purposefully minimalist with walls of floor to ceiling windows which create a vibrant, bright and open dining space. More pleasing though is that the food is also just as good.
Small plates of kim chee, spinach & ricotta dumplings and grilled squid, coriander, green chilli & rocket were delightful but it was the korean fried chicken that stole the show. Dangerously moreish and addictive, it is deep fried chicken as it should be; supremely crunchy coating hiding moist and tender meat. How good is it? Good enough to order 3 plates worth...
Eventually moving on to mains, the parmesan crumbed chicken schnitzel with creamed corn & fennel slaw was just what the doctor ordered as colder weather approached but the sticky chilli belly pork with roast peanuts & spring onion salad proved to be the greater highlight. Served with ice berg lettuce and designed to be eaten as a lettuce wrap, it strikes a delicious balance between tangy, sweet and savoury whilst the pork itself remains soft and silky smooth.
Desserts of white chocolate & pistachio pavlova with strawberries & rosewater yoghurt and baked banana & salted toffee pudding did nothing but enhance an enjoyable meal all round and one consistent with a visit to a Granger and Co.
So another location and another winner from the Granger and Co. brain trust. The question now is, where next?

Granger & Co is a welcome addition to the King's Cross dining scene. It has a charm about it that's different to its Notting Hill branch, perhaps due to the vibe that emanates from it being close to a travel hub. The menu is fairly exciting with top picks such as the tuna poke and korean fried chicken, and you can guarantee brekky food is always pretty tasty here. Service is great, with friendly staff and bartenders who can give you a smashing time during late hours. It's a good late lunch option during the weekends but the fun start when you go for late night drinks and as it's not usually that busy. Once, we asked the bartenders to experiment and make us off-the-menu cocktails of their choice. Good fun, I highly recommend hanging by the bar whilst waiting to catch your train before jetting off elsewhere.
The latest edition of Bill Granger's restaurants Granger and Co. intrigued our appetites. A stone throw away from St Pancras, the square in which the restaurant is situated is a perfect Sunday morning brunch spot. The menu gave an array of irresistible options and we ordered the creamy scrambled eggs with sour dough toast (and a cheeky side of bacon), a refreshing plate of avocado with poached eggs and a Bills Raw Smoothie on the side. My usual disappointment with brunch restaurants (the feeling that I can do it better at home) was unfounded. The eggs perfectly cooked, the toast golden brown and the avocado and smoothie health kick make for a perfect brunch.
Perfect location if it sunny and you’re in the area. The coconut yogurt with blueberry compote and granola was good but the portion was on the small side. The banana bread came with tons of powder sugar and for some reason the taste was off. I think they toasted it in the same toaster they use for savoury dishes. The coffee is great. Their specialty is definitely the scrambled egg dish. The staff was accommodating. We ate at the counter as there was a queue already of people waiting to be seated outside in the sun. Quick service.
Food: We were happy with the food we were given. My friend ordered the kimchi toast and I ordered the bacon and rocket brioche and we were both happy with what we ordered. The bacon was a little bit tough and I was a bit sad to not have gotten their drip coffee since they were out of stock but those are just minor things.
Service: Very efficient. We were seated almost instantly we made contact with a waiter and our waitress was also really good and managed our table well.
Atmosphere: simply electric! The place was buzzing and everyone looked like they were having a good time. It looked really aesthetic and modern as well as clean.
We chose this place because it was close to the station and we were a bit tight on time but the restaurant's efficiency means that anyone who has a bit of a time gap before their train definitely should come here!
Amazing breakfast in one of the busiest area in London.
My family and I love the breakfast served here. We got the Fresh Aussie, scrambled eggs on sourdough bread and granola. Everything is so fresh that we went back at least twice to enjoy their breakfast. Highly recommend this place!
You're in for a treat at Granger & Co.! This place is the epitome of a perfect brunch spot. With its relaxed and welcoming ambiance, you'll feel right at home from the moment you step through the door. Let's talk about the menu. Prepare yourself for a mouthwatering experience like no other. The ricotta hotcakes are out-of-this-world delicious and should be at the top of your must-try list. Fluffy, indulgent, and full of flavour, they're simply irresistible. And let's not forget about the scrambled eggs - they're in a league of their own, the best I've ever tasted. What sets Granger & Co. apart is their dedication to both taste and nutrition. They've mastered the art of crafting dishes that are not only delicious but also nourishing. You'll leave feeling satisfied and energised, ready to take on the day.
Mouthwatering, stunning, contemporary- modern food with classical twist, great coffee, fabulous art deco/modernism ambience, fast & professional service and great location.
Prices might be high but you pay for quality... And c'mon - LONDON ;)
definitely great address for a breakie 🥞🍳😋😋
Stopped by early on a Sunday (they're open from 7 every day as of May 2023) on my way to a train, and left very happy! I didn't have too long before I had to catch my connection but I was loathe for another breakfast out of a plastic wrapper or paper cup, so asked if they thought they could get me in and out in 30 mins or so.
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and as it wasn't too busy they said they'd do their best, and also advised me what "slower" items to avoid ordering. I opted for the egg & halloumi roll and tea. They kept to their word and everything came out quickly -- and was truly delicious! The egg roll is on a slightly sweet brioche with gorgeously runny yolk and fried salty halloumi. The tea was great - served in proper thin china so you can really appreciate it.
The layout of the restaurant is a little retro but sparkling and spacious, with tasteful decoration and a gentle buzz (at 8am on a Sunday). I'll definitely be back!!
We tried a little bit of everything with my friends. My favourite was the potato and feta rosti, poached eggs, hot smoked salmon and dill yogurt:)
The service was great and it’s a nice spot around King’s Cross.
It gets busy for brunch but it’s worth the wait.
Great breakfast spot with elegant decor and plenty of tables. High-quality food and wide range of delicious options. Highly recommend for a luxurious and delicious morning meal.
The food is just magnificent. Really fresh ingredients. Unbelievably delicious. Always eat there and it’s always high quality. Staff are very nice and helpful. Can’t recommend this enough.
I discovered this place once when I was traveling from St Pancras station. Now it's a must whenever I pass by, either for breakfast, brunch or dinner! I prefer King's Cross branch than Chelsea's or Notting Hill. The staff is kind and friendly, the menu is great and varied, food is very fresh and absolutely delicious 😋
What a surprise to find a such elegant place in a middle of King’s Cross with a quite decent selection of wines.
Lovely knowledge staff, who easily gave me an advice on any wine and any dish.
Relaxed atmosphere.
My favourite from today was tuna tartare and greens salad…buffed up with a glass of gavi de gavi.
And as cherry on a top Anton been so kind to put my phone on a charge, so I could work on my emails before going from London for a few days.
Big up for you great work team.
Definitely come back for chicken burger next time.
Thank you.
I love the decoration very much here. Its relaxing, modern, newly furnished. The food was fancy as well. I ordered the crab toast and it was good looking. The taste was alright though. Yuzu cocktail was amazing - my friends loved it so much. The dessert was a bit disappointing though - we were expecting some cakes but it turned out to be three layers of ice cream.
Went as a group of ten and were lucky that they could accommodate us all. With such a group it is sometimes difficult to get all of the dishes served at once, but they managed perfectly. Very hip and relaxing, we sat outside enjoying the warm weather but plenty of customers chose inside to unwind and chill. Service was swift and friendly. Food was flavoursome and portion sizes were decent.
Plenty of choices on the menu and reasonably priced so all in all a nice place to go to recharge.
went for lunch and it was delicious, very fresh ingredients and original combinations without being too heavy on flavor.
very nice staff, and also the restaurant is so clean 👍
given such a diversity of the menu we are already excited to come back for breakfast or even dinner 🍽
Very high quality food and fast service, recommend! Delicious ricotta pancakes and authentic hot chocolate with chocolate chips.
I will warn that the wait times for brunch are very long, and they do not take names to put on the waitlist, you have to wait in line.
Big fan of the corn fritters and the hot cakes!
I've been coming to Granger & Co for years. I've not visited since before the pandemic and had the opportunity to visit this week when a friend was visiting from overseas.
This is one of my favourite brunch places. It has a relaxed vibe and you never feel rushed. The service is usually pretty good.
Soooo anywhere I take my parents when they are visiting is a sign that I reaaally like it. This is one of those!
My friend wasn't a fan of the chai latte or coffee. I was happy with my mint tea. So if you're a coffee snob, maybe get your coffee before coming. :p
I remember that this was started by an Australian chef and the first one was in Farringdon. There's three of them now, the other in Nottinghill, in fact, there might even be four now ... I'm not sure. That's how great this place is. The King's Cross branch is super convenient.
Usually you have to queue on the weekend but during the week it's fine.
The food quality is excellent and portion sizes are decent too.
Sorry I haven't got pics as we were too busy catching up. Plus I've had the worst flu and I'm just not remembering to take pictures. Although the staff were kind enough to take a pic of us, but it was on my friends phone, which I haven't received, not that I ever post selfies anyway. 🙃
Good breakfast on the expensive side. The place is nice with high ceilings and a beautiful bar. Pet and baby friendly.
