Not too crowded but i like that it is just off Regent St and not crowded, decor and design is very pleasant and you are given both the a la carte menu and set linch menu. Both went for a set lunch menu and it was a good choice with the waiter able to take out the clams in the spaghetti for me and add garlic which was a nice touch and shows also it is made fresh.

Provided a great selection of bread to start and wish i had more time to enjoy them but had a time schedule and only an hour to order and eat and pay which we managed so a testament to the service as well.

Bear in mind there is an outdoor area as well which is nice during the recent nice weather we are having.

The lunch set menu came in at £25.00 per person for 2 courses.

Just had two course set menu this time and started with the Ham and Melon but you have three options for starters and mains to choose from and looking at their website this seems to change as the website menu is not accurate.

Ham and Melon - Really refreshing and good portion of ham which was light and delicious with great smoked flavour and the melon was fresh and just right. A great starter.

Spaghetti with chilli and clams - I substituted the clams with just garlic. Not the biggest of portions but not small either so for Lunch it is just right so you don’t feel too bloated. Spaghetti cooked well and nice light flavour with hint of chilli and good helping of garlic sauce but not too much. I really enjoyed the dish that tasted authentic and light. Not tomato based like so many other resturant and nothing wrong with that but its nice to be able to get a more authentic taste.

The menu does seem skewed to sea food and as I don’t really have sea food i was a bit worried but as they were able to accommodate and the food was really nice I was glad I went and asked.

In summary a nice place to visit and very convenient just a stones throw away from the hustle of Regent Street. Please decor and good attentive staff so worth a visit.

Hope to go again and experience more of the menu and give a more detailed review.

It's loved by everyone from Jay-Z and Beyonce to Mariah Carey and Georgio Armani - and they cook the most INCREDIBLE Italian food. The only catch? It's over 1000 miles away so...not exactly somewhere you can pop to on your lunch break. Well for one week only, earlier this month, Aurora's head-chef was flown over to Ristorante Frescobaldi in London and I was lucky enough to bag myself a seat at the dinner table...

The past month has been completely full-on, and non-stop, so finally getting to sit down and write my Tallinn trip up feels like an absolute luxury. I’ve been working on some exciting big projects, as well as doing a big design course, and I can’t wait to bring everything together – watch this space!

Here are my gluten-free restaurant reviews – mostly in London, but anywhere that I find absolutely delicious. Any meals that have been comp’ed have been specified – and I always give my honest opinion – there’s nothing worse than a shoddy meal!. I absolutely love having my wine paired for me.

Well, literally every person in my hotel have been talking about Frescobaldi and how Frescobaldi is one of the greatest Italian restaurants in London. I couldn't take the talk about it no longer so I decided to pay it a visit and see for myself if it's worth the hype or not and trust me it is! The service is impeccable and the interiors were ugh! They were beautiful in every way. Honestly, i had to stare for about 3 minutes just to look at the fantastically decorated interiors. Now let's come to the most important part of the review. FOOOD!!!

Burrata: I have tried burrata countless times in my life and I would define let say that this one is one of the best for it being so soft, smooth and creamy! 4.5/5

Grilled Calamari: the Grilled calamari was grilled perfectly. I would definitely want it to be served with some tomato/chilli sauce though. 3.5/5

Spring Salad with Truffled Cheese: the spring salad was nothing special actually. 3/5

T-Bone Steak: the T-bone steak was so delicious. The portion was a bit too huge for people of 2. I think it would best suit people of 3 or even 4. The meat's taste was literally heavenly. It was so tasty. Definitely my second best in London! 4.5/5

I will definitely be planning another visit soon to explore more of their Italian goodness.

Before my trip to Asia I took a little trip to Italy for one night as I joined a Winemakers Dinner at Frescobaldi in London. Frescobaldi is conveniently located right off Regent Street on a hidden side street. As I turned the corner I saw a lively and cosy street with people enjoying wine outside of the restaurant. I was happy to see some familiar blogger faces. I joined them straight away but knew I had to pace myself as there was plenty more wine to come. We started off with some delicious canapés before heading inside for the dinner. The selection of canapés included cucumber cubes with crème fraiche and anchovies, crab cake with avocado, and ham and melon.

While I absolutely love wine, I admit I’m not very adventurous about straying away from my usual glass of dry white. So I was absolutely thrilled to be invited to Frescobaldi for their winemaker’s dinner – four courses paired with delicious Italian wines. Frescobaldi is in the heart of Mayfair, slightly tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There’s something quite romantic about the restaurant – it would be a wonderful place to go for a date!

Ristorante Frescobaldi in Mayfair is the first UK restaurant from the famed Tuscan wine making family the Frescobaldi’s. It’s one of Italy’s most celebrated wine dynasties dating back 700 years and 30 generations. Today the Frescobaldi family own 11 estates in Italy including 10 in Tuscany. After enjoying a great selection of wine I think I need to visit at least one of the estates in Tuscany! You know, for research purposes.

The name Frescobaldi is easily associated with… a few things actually: wine, of course, nobility, Tuscany, heritage. They have very recently opened a restaurant in London, where their wines (as well as other Italian labels) are paired to modern Italian fare by head Chef Roberto Reatini (formerly of Zafferano).

This is the Frescobaldi family's first standalone venue in the UK: it's an upmarket restaurant in an upmarket part of town serving great quality Italian food, specialities from Tuscany and an incredible wine list from one of the most respected dynasties in the wine world.   The restaurant has an extensive vino selection by Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi, the prestigious, award-winning producers whose extraordinary legacy encompasses nine estates in the hills around Florence and Siena.

There are never enough good Italian restaurants in London, so this has been a very welcomed new addition.
Conveniently located in Mayfair close to Regent St., the place has been beautifully designed: the lighting is a bit too high, but I guess it's because the place is meant to be both a romantic / friendly venue and a business one.
Tables are not too close one to another, so privacy is assured.
Speaking about the food, it's the second best thing about it, everything seems nicely prepared and cooked, even the fish, which shouldn't be the specialty of this place, as being Tuscan it should be all about the meat.
Two partially negative notes:
1. The wine list left me disappointed, at least on the whites. Too small and too pricey. I had to struggle to find a nice Italian wine below 60+ GBP. Considering that most of those wines are probably sourced in Italy at one third or less of that price, maybe a bit more effort would have guaranteed a wine list that can suit every pocket and taste.
2. being open since few months the staff, albeit very kind and welcoming, is still not perfect (a pair of wrong orders in one dinner is too much in a nice restaurant, but everything was settled without additional costs)
In conclusion, a nice place with good Italian food, but be careful on the wine choice as it could make your bill skyrocket, but I guess that's pretty common in London... ;)

Frescobaldi Restaurant London is the first standalone restaurant in the UK for the Frescobaldi family and follows on from the success of the Dei Frescobaldi restaurants and wine bars in Florence and at Rome’s Fiumicino airport. The Frescobaldis are a famous wine dynasty that dates back to 1308. During the Renaissance, the Fescobaldis traded wine for works of art with Michelangelo and were the major financiers to the kings of England including Henry VIII.

The Frescobaldi name is therefore highly prestigious in the world of wine. The family have nine wine estates in and around the hills of Florence and Siena in Italy, and so an essential part of what the restaurant will be offering in London will be the vast array of wines produced by Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi. These account for some 75% of the restaurant’s list, with the remainder comprising of a fine selection from both the Old World and the New World. Furthermore, the majority of Frescobaldi’s 150 bins will be available by the glass to allow the diner to sample many of the variety of wines on offer.

Frescobaldi London opened in early November 2014 and stands on New Burlington Place in Mayfair. It is a beautiful restaurant, with lovely floor to ceiling windows that lets in lots of natural light. On the walls are hand-painted drawings and framed pictures that pay homage to the restaurant’s Italian influences. The comfortable furnishings encourage a sense of comfort as well as instilling an immediate sense of sophistication as you walk through its doors.

Given the Tuscan roots of the Frescobaldi family, the focus of the menu is unsurprisingly on the rich culinary traditions of this beautiful region of Italy. In the kitchen is Chef Roberto Reatini who was previously at the Michelin starred Zafferano. He has brought a contemporary twist to some great Italian classics to give the food a modern flair.

Red prawns carpaccio (£26) was wonderful with a lasting and intensely sweet flavour. Accompanying the prawns were some capers which worked perfectly with the prawns by giving it some acidity. Another seafood starter of langoustine tartar with green apple salad (£25) was also reasonably tasty and fresh, but it didn’t have the same intense sweetness as the prawns.

Our pasta dish was the lobster linguini with chilli (£27). This was a beautiful plate of food with perfectly cooked linguini and a beautifully flavoured tomato sauce. There was also a splash of finely chopped parsley running through the dish that added a really nice aroma to it. As for the lobster itself – this was tasty and nicely cooked. This was an excellent dish, although we would have preferred more pieces of lobster.

We tried both a fish and meat secondi, the fish being roasted sea bass with fennel. The fish was fleshy, fresh and nicely cooked, and there was a good bite to the fennel. But the dish was almost too simple, and needed another element on the plate – some acidity or a sauce – to bring the dish together and to liven it up.

A veal cutlet (£29) proved to be a nice cut of meat and was very tender, albeit well done rather than the requested medium rare. There were also some braised mushrooms on the plate which had a really good flavour but were a touch over seasoned. To complete the dish was an accomplished veal jus, nicely reduced with a classically rich intensity.

To dessert, and a mille-feuille with raspberries (£9) had been deconstructed and consisted of Chantilly cream in a bowl with thin layers of puff pastry and a sprinkling of raspberries. The Chantilly cream was pleasant, but the winning element was the puff pastry which was excellent as it was light, flaky and very crispy.

A chocolate tart (£9) was a chocolate lovers delight and consisted of thick dark chocolate ganache with an orange cream filling. It was very rich, and accompanying the tart were a deliciously creamy vanilla ice cream and some beautiful caramelised orange zest that cut through the richness of the tart nicely

We would particularly recommend the lobster linguini and the red prawn carpaccio as these were really delicious. The desserts were wonderful too although the mains we tried could do with a little tweaking. But overall, the food was polished and tasty. Frescobaldi is an enjoyable experience, one heightened by the incredible setting and the extremely professional and accomplished service. It’s the kind of restaurant perfectly suited for corporate pow-wows, ladies who lunch, a place to take your loved one on a date to impress.

Summary Information:

Food rating: 3.75/5
Service rating: 4/5
Prices: £27 to £68 for three courses, excludes drinks and service.

They’ve done very well with the interiors. A great wall of glass for the frontage, striking frescos of Italian renaissance characters painted onto the tiled walls, a great central column with shelves housing Tuscan paraphernalia and bottles of wine poured by the glass - it’s a handsome space.

At Frescobaldi, you’ll find the largest menu you’ve ever seen, in size rather than content - open, it’s almost as wide as the wingspan of an albatross. The extra maneuverability the broad and comfortable chairs provide are as good for big bottoms as they are for accommodating the perusal of the massive things; best to read them turned sideways for the sake of a smashed wine glass.

In it, a confident and concise menu with less than a handful of entries under each section: antipasti, carpacci, tartare, primi piatti (pasta), to share (salads, cheese and charcuterie), secondi di pesce (fish mains), seconde di cane (meat mains), contorni (sides).

Bread was great and made on site, the soft and salty focaccia still warm from the oven, crisp Sardinian flatbread entirely void of moisture, and the basket comes with a bottle of that Laudemio olive oil to glug at your pleasure.

There were rippled sheets of seabass carpaccio with pink peppers, soy sauce and fresh curly celery strips, that could have done with a touch of astringency (£16). The lactating Puglian burrata, with rocket pesto and ripe tomatoes, was just about the creamiest I’ve encountered (£12.50).

I thought the marinated black Angus beef with lentils and courgettes would come as a salad with cooked slices of steak, and I expected it to be dull. It was actually like a plate of joyous lemony bresaola, with a little gathering of fantastically dressed firm green lentils and tiny cubes of courgette (£15).

The wide ribbons of pappardelle with the veal cheek ragu were gorgeous - great bite and deep yellow from yolk. The pappy but pleasing sauce, quite sweet from the meat, needed the contrasting texture it got from a flourish of small crisp rosemary croutons scattered before serving - very good (£15).

There were small and soft dimpled gnocchi with porcini mushrooms and an earthy umami sauce, although I do like my dumplings sporting the marks of a longer fry (£15). The ossobucco was a loaded plate of flaking veal, flanked by a barrier of unctuous white polenta, and with a great slug of marrow that slipped out of the bone after just a little persuasion (£23).

Tiramisu came in an unusual format, a mound of yellow sponge, coloured from extra yolk I presume, with a moat of coffee sauce and bitter toasted beans. It was cleared in the same amount of time it took me to register it had arrived (£9).

They've been smart in making more of their wines accessible to diners, by offering small and reasonably priced pre-grouped wine flights. You get a taste of three glasses (125ml each), and there are different groups of three to choose from, ranging from £16 - £68. I had the Red Flight “Sangiovese” at £21.

Two female maître d's were wearing the same sophisticated monochrome dress that wouldn’t have looked out of place at a cocktail bar, and service was charming and very attentive, if a little too enthusiastic at the beginning of our early lunch reservation, when we were the only occupied table.

Fellow diners ranged from groups of American visitors, to distinguished and impeccably dressed Italian matriarchs enjoying a girly lunch, to young couples, to a Turkish family, which may have been a Mr Büyükuğur influence.

Like I said, I don’t know how these people knew it was there. I did, because my visit was in the capacity of critiquing it for the consumer publication for British Turks & Turkophiles, T-Vine (thanks to Mr Büyükuğur’s involvement).

But know about it, people seem to. And now you do too.

I can imagine this is what Italian food is meant to be. Family recipes passed down. Simple but intricate. Freshest of produce for an array of well known dishes. The wine is all home grown too. Service impeccable. Bravo

This place is highly recommended if you want good Italian food in Central London. My husband booked this place for my birthday celebration and what can I say the food, the decoration, the atmosphere, the service all are excellent! Staff was really friendly and helpful. Gave us a few recommendations which were spot on! Little bit expensive but worth a try. Great place for a date, Birthday celebration, Anniversary or just family or friends day out for great food, music and drinks. You cannot go wrong with this place!

Beautifully designed restaurant, with warm cosy and relaxing atmosphere accompanied by classic Italian music. Perfectly prepared tasty dishes and refined cocktails. On busy Saturday evening, service floating effortless, to then level that you wouldn't even notice when the palate are taken and how mangily drinks appear on your table. Each team member was smiling and lovely to chat with. Big thank, you especially to hostess Olga who was very warm and welcoming, as well as Raz, who was professional, enthusiastic, and with great sense of humour, when looking after my table he was making sure that the dining experience is first class! I could not hardly enough recommend this beautiful restaurant! The whole experience was above excellent! Thank you to everyone, and I hope to be back soon! Karo

What a fantastic dining experience! We visited the restaurant for our festive team lunch and we were all blown away. The hospitality is second to none, we were met and greeted by a lovely hostess who offered to take our coats and showed us our table which was perfectly set for our tasting menu. The service was impeccable from start to finish with strong attention to detail. The food was what one would expect from a high class restaurant, freshness, presentation, taste, temperature, choice of crockery etc. were all top class. And finally the personal approach from the team at Frescobaldi made it really special. Thank you
